- 0:13You said,' I will moderate the debate.
- 0:14' As soon as he knew you were going to moderate the debate, what did he
- 0:17say to you?
- 0:17He asked for it first.
- 0:18He asked first.
- 0:19Once he knew and Mr.
- 0:21Amr agreed, he said, ' I was just joking. '
- 0:23Unfunny.
- 0:24That 's it.
- 0:24Yes, I swear.
- 0:25He 's annoying.
- 0:26Yes, I swear.
- 0:27Mister, sir
- 0:28I want to tell you, your sense of humor is terrible.
- 0:30Yeah, she turned out to be a hundred times more manly than him.
- 0:33Glory be to God.
- 0:34And he hid in his panic room.
- 0:36I was wearing a loose cloak once.
- 0:38But I really trip on the stairs.
- 0:40I swear to God, I mean, why?
- 0:42May God guide your heart by His mercy.
- 0:44We have no power or strength except through God Almighty.
- 0:47There is no god but God.
- 0:48She was secretly moved, then.
- 0:51She went silent.
- 0:53She is crying, you see, because there is a divine calling deep
- 0:55within all of us, I swear to you.
- 1:00Peace be upon you, and God 's mercy and blessings.
- 1:03Today, God willing, I will moderate a dialogue between Ms.
- 1:06Iman and Dr.
- 1:07Haitham Talaat.
- 1:08And the purpose of the dialogue is to reach the truth, not to see who
- 1:12wins or who comes out on top.
- 1:13May God grant us success, God willing.
- 1:15Please go ahead, Ms. Iman.
- 1:18To start, I am very happy to be here with you, Dr.
- 1:21Haitham;
- 1:22you are an influential figure.
- 1:24And to be here with you, Mr. Amr.
- 1:26May God help you.
- 1:27And I hope my words wo n't be disturbing, of course, because they
- 1:31will be contrary to the prevailing or general belief, you know.
- 1:35But my beginning was when I decided to commit, or when I entered the
- 1:39path of commitment and studying Islamic jurisprudence, and I
- 1:43reached a stage of certainty in it that was, you know, unmixed with
- 1:47any doubt.
- 1:49And I first started this journey about 8 years ago, and at that time,
- 1:52I was, of course, going through many, many incredibly harsh and
- 1:56difficult circumstances in my life.
- 1:57So, the advice that I received from the sheikhs to me was that, no, you
- 2:01should not despair, because there are actually many things we can use
- 2:05to help us cope with this, whether it is through the practice of
- 2:08patience, the comfort of prayer, or the act of giving charity to others.
- 2:14Of course, I decided to do everything because I had complete
- 2:17certainty in God 's existence.
- 2:19And I had complete certainty in the answer [ to my prayers].
- 2:23So I started.
- 2:24I started to doubt when I found that nothing of what was being said
- 2:27was true and nothing was happening.
- 2:29And I tried everything.
- 2:31And this was over the course of years.
- 2:33It was n't just for a day and that 's it. No.
- 2:35It was over the course of years.
- 2:37Maybe it 's not like that.
- 2:39They would convince me that this is a trial and a tribulation.
- 2:42And the believer is tested.
- 2:44And the most severely tested people are the prophets.
- 2:47Then those who are closest to them in status, and so on.
- 2:50So I actually reached a stage where, no, I no longer believed this talk.
- 2:55And I, excuse me, I want a God who will save me.
- 2:57I do n't want justifications all the time because my prayers are n't
- 3:01being answered all the time;
- 3:02I am in a disaster and I want to turn to the Eternal Refuge, the One
- 3:06to whom all creation is supposed to turn.
- 3:08And I am not finding that.
- 3:10You are trying to convince me with words that I do n't see in reality
- 3:13over the course of many long years, not just over the course of months,
- 3:17for example.
- 3:19Dr.
- 3:20Haitham.
- 3:20She wants a God who will save her.
- 3:22What is your response?
- 3:24Well.
- 3:25Praise God, and peace and blessings to the Messenger of God, his family,
- 3:28his companions, and his followers.
- 3:30To proceed.
- 3:31This is a dialogue.
- 3:34And the foundation of dialogue is reflection.
- 3:36So let 's take our time.
- 3:38You can critique as much as you want, and feel free to present your
- 3:40perspective as you wish.
- 3:42Take the time you need.
- 3:43The thing is that we find the truth at the end of this dialogue.
- 3:46And ultimately, every person has their own decision.
- 3:51The real problem here, Ms.
- 3:52Iman, is that this issue sits at the very core of the questions for
- 3:55so many people.
- 3:56I pray to God every single day, and I truly do everything that I
- 3:59possibly can.
- 4:00Seek help through patience and prayer.
- 4:02And yet, where is the God who will save me?
- 4:06Unfortunately, we have moved from the stage of servitude to the stage
- 4:11of entitlement.
- 4:12Yes, what does entitlement mean?
- 4:15It means I 've topped up my credit card by doing the dhikr (
- 4:19remembrances).
- 4:20And 'seek help through patience and prayer,' I put that into the ATM.
- 4:23It 's not dispensing what I want.
- 4:25Unfortunately, the modern mind treats the Lord of the Worlds as a
- 4:29service provider.
- 4:31Exalted is God Almighty above being an ATM.
- 4:34As if He were a magic genie.
- 4:36Like, you know, the lamp;
- 4:37rub it and the genie comes out for me.
- 4:40Abracadabra.
- 4:42But this genie does n't care about the consequences;
- 4:44it just gives me what I want.
- 4:46A million dollars?
- 4:47Here you go.
- 4:48But it 's not concerned with the consequences of what it provides.
- 4:52So there is a fundamental problem here: the mind has shifted from
- 4:56servitude to entitlement.
- 4:58A role reversal;
- 4:59instead of me being submissive to the Lord of the Worlds, No,
- 5:03It 's supposed to be that what I want should come to me.
- 5:05I have a right, you know.
- 5:06I have a right. Yeah.
- 5:07And this idea, unfortunately, is half of the atheism in the world
- 5:12today.
- 5:13The idea of entitlement.
- 5:14The atheism of all of East Asia — China, India, Buddhism, and
- 5:18Hinduism — is based on the law of entitlement, that the universe
- 5:22emanated from God.
- 5:23The emanation according to Avicenna, which is the ten intellects
- 5:27according to the Greeks, that the first intellect emanated the second,
- 5:32Or that the universe emanated from God without divine sustenance or will.
- 5:38So when I practice meditation, do yoga, or meditate, I believe in the
- 5:42seven laws of the universe, one of which is entitlement.
- 5:46What I have done must happen because there is no self-sustaining God.
- 5:50There is no God who, whatever He wills, happens, and whatever He
- 5:54does not will, does not happen.
- 5:56This is one of the greatest ways Satan enters the heart of the son
- 5:59of Adam, by turning the Lord into a service provider, a tool for
- 6:03fulfilling wishes.
- 6:06The biggest problem here is that the human mind — and we always read
- 6:10in the Sunnah, the Hadiths, and Islamic jurisprudence that the mind
- 6:14will reach a stage of human infancy at the end of time.
- 6:18This infancy is exactly what we see now:' I want it right here and
- 6:22right now, it must happen for me, otherwise there is no God to save me. '
- 6:26So I start doubting all constants based on this foundation I 've
- 6:30established for myself.
- 6:32And which Satan has indeed been casting into people 's minds
- 6:35throughout history.
- 6:37He cast the idea of the 'Law of Entitlement' in East Asia.
- 6:40And of course, this is a polytheistic law.
- 6:42And today, whoever wants to report this, let them report Ahmed Emara today.
- 6:47And this is a famous spiritual atheist preacher who has a course
- 6:51on entitlement, so that he can lead Ms.
- 6:53Iman to what she has reached today, which is that I did such and such.
- 6:57So I must get such and such.
- 6:58I asked for it, so it must come to me.
- 7:00I have been living this suffering for years.
- 7:02It is supposed that I want something to happen to me.
- 7:05And of course, we have today Amira El-Maghraby, Somaya El-Nasser,
- 7:09Salah.
- 7:10A group of spiritual atheist preachers in the Islamic world,
- 7:13aiming to bring the mind to a stage of childhood, which will be
- 7:17followed by the spread of atheism in the end times, or rather, at the
- 7:21beginning of it.
- 7:22So humanity is moving towards a cosmic childhood.
- 7:25A global childhood.
- 7:27The whole world is heading towards the childhood that, as the Prophet
- 7:30( peace be upon him) said, 'In the end times, the pen will be lifted.
- 7:34' We all know how to read and write , but ignorance will increase.
- 7:37Ignorance of complex interpretations.
- 7:39What does a complex interpretation mean?
- 7:42I wo n't tolerate you telling me, 'Well, this is God 's decree,' or
- 7:46'Well, it 's this or that.
- 7:48' No, I want it now, immediately.
- 7:50We, as humans, stand on a single pixel in the painting of destiny.
- 7:54So I judge this entire painting based on the pixel I am standing on.
- 7:59You do n't know all the outcomes to tell me that this is wrong.
- 8:02And that such and such should have happened.
- 8:05God Almighty says in His Holy Book, 'So when they forgot that by which
- 8:09they had been reminded, We opened to them the doors of every [ good] thing. '
- 8:14When God Almighty gives, it might actually be a form of luring.
- 8:18I mean, God gave Iblis ( Satan) a long life.
- 8:22He said, 'Indeed, you are of those reprieved.
- 8:24' Take what you want.
- 8:25This is a luring, not a divine favor.
- 8:28So, the childish mindset in the end times is something God mentioned in
- 8:32His Holy Book.
- 8:33'And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [ thus] honors him
- 8:37and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me." But when
- 8:40He tries him and restricts his provision, he says,
- 8:43"My Lord has humiliated me."'
- 8:45No.
- 8:46God tells him, 'No. '
- 8:48Your understanding is very limited.
- 8:50Honor is not [ defined by] giving, and restriction is not [
- 8:53necessarily] a trial.
- 8:55On the contrary, this is the core of the test in this world.
- 8:59In that Haitham challenges when the thing he wants will come to him?
- 9:03That a trial happens to a person, that so-and-so has a restriction in
- 9:07their provision or otherwise, because this is the axis of divine
- 9:11accountability.
- 9:13'And We test you with evil and with good as trial,' it is a trial,
- 9:16fundamentally.
- 9:18So I will just ask the lady before I continue the verse she mentioned,
- 9:21please read it, if you do n't mind, Ms. Iman.
- 9:23I 'll just give you my phone to read it, if you can.
- 9:25Okay.
- 9:27Alright, in the name of God.
- 9:29You said, 'Seek help through patience and prayer,' and [ the
- 9:32question is] how did I seek help and what I wanted did n't happen.
- 9:35Is that right?
- 9:36It is difficult, except for the humble [ to Allah].
- 9:39Excuse me.
- 9:39It 's the last verse on the page.
- 9:41Please read that one and the verse following it.
- 9:44And the verse after it, if you could. Go ahead.
- 9:48O you who believe, seek help through patience and prayer;
- 9:51Allah is with the patient.
- 9:52Do not call those killed in the way of Allah dead.
- 9:55They are alive, though you do not perceive it.
- 9:58We will test you with fear, hunger, and loss of wealth, lives, and fruits.
- 10:02Give good tidings to the patient.
- 10:04Thank you.
- 10:05So, when I sought help through patience and prayer, it 's not like
- 10:08the ATM gave me what I wanted.
- 10:09No, after I sought help through patience and prayer, it 's possible
- 10:13that being killed in the way of Allah might happen.
- 10:15"And We will surely test you with
- 10:17something of, or a loss of, life,
- 10:19wealth, and children."
- 10:20Because I am in a world of accountability.
- 10:22I mean, look, the People of the Cave were young believers, rare in
- 10:26the world, if not the rarest of the rare in monotheism.
- 10:31They went to a cave, saying,
- 10:32"Our Lord, grant us from Yourself
- 10:34mercy and prepare for us from our
- 10:35affair right guidance."
- 10:37Did they win afterwards, and did the king perish? No.
- 10:40We cast a cover of sleep over their ears.
- 10:42They stayed for 300 years inside the cave.
- 10:45So, Lord, is this the victory?
- 10:47Yes, by God, this is victory, in my limited view.
- 10:49Where is the victory?
- 10:50Well, three hundred years after you, people will appear who have doubts
- 10:54about the Resurrection, and you will confirm them.
- 10:57So I was a bridge for others to reach [ the truth] through
- 10:59affliction, yes, by God, through affliction.
- 11:01Look, [ consider] the People of the Ditch.
- 11:04A young man, mashallah, the king is raising him to be a sorcerer.
- 11:07But when he passed by the monk, he was impressed by the monk 's
- 11:10worship;
- 11:11this was a monk, mashallah, [ devoted] to Him.
- 11:14And the young man began to believe in the oneness of God and reject
- 11:18what the sorcerer had.
- 11:19What happened?
- 11:21The young man was killed so that the whole village would believe.
- 11:24So, after the village believed, did the king perish?
- 11:28No, on the contrary.
- 11:29Surah Al-Buruj.
- 11:30The king burned the believers, and no dark ending for this king was
- 11:34mentioned.
- 11:36On the contrary, he might have died in his bed, surrounded by his wives
- 11:39and family, with the utmost honor in this world.
- 11:43Because we are looking at the pixel of destiny that I am standing on.
- 11:46But the painting of destiny, 'they can not encompass it in knowledge,
- 11:49except for the Lord of the Worlds, and they can not encompass Him in
- 11:53knowledge. '
- 11:54I was reading once in Surah As-Saff.
- 11:56Oh God,' O you who have believed, shall I guide you to a transaction
- 12:00that will save you from a painful punishment?
- 12:04' How,
- 12:04Lord?
- 12:04' [ It is that] you believe in Allah and His Messenger and strive
- 12:08in the cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives.
- 12:10That is best for you, if you should know.
- 12:13' After the jihad that will happen, we will be victorious and
- 12:16established.
- 12:17No.
- 12:17The goal of this is for God to forgive our sins and admit you into
- 12:20gardens beneath which rivers flow and pleasant dwellings in gardens
- 12:24of perpetual residence;
- 12:25that is the great attainment.
- 12:27What comes after that is 'and another [ favor] that you love. '
- 12:31It is not the goal itself, but because of our weakness, we love it,
- 12:34and it is not the ultimate merit.
- 12:36I am sorry, in the childhood stage, we think this is the merit.
- 12:41I did this, so I must be victorious.
- 12:42No, 'and another [ favor] that you love,' you desire it, 'and another
- 12:46that you love.
- 12:46' Victory from God and an imminent conquest, but it is not the goal.
- 12:50We might get it.
- 12:51Yes, the important thing is that I am on the path and die on the path.
- 12:54What the Lord of the Worlds promised is fulfilled.
- 12:57O God, to You be the praise.
- 12:58It was not fulfilled.
- 12:59It does n't concern me at all.
- 13:01So, right now, God might open up blessings and people might be
- 13:04guided, or perhaps nothing might happen.
- 13:06The important thing is that I am on the path, regardless of what
- 13:09happens to me.
- 13:10I am currently being exposed to trials, setbacks, and temptations.
- 13:13That is my challenge in this life, [ He] who created death and life to
- 13:17test you.
- 13:17We are in a world of obligation;
- 13:19we are in a world of obligation where destinies are decreed, where
- 13:22trials are decreed, and where temptations are decreed.
- 13:25Because we are in this world, and in the end, it is either Paradise
- 13:28or Hellfire.
- 13:29That is the ultimate goal, but there is 'another [ favor] that you love'.
- 13:33The problem with the childish mentality that will reach the end
- 13:36of times, and through whose hands atheism will spread, is that it
- 13:39will be an entitled mentality — 'and another [ favor] that I
- 13:42deserve'.
- 13:43No, by God, it is just something you love, and God might grant it to you.
- 13:46It might not come to pass.
- 13:48When the Companions came to the Prophet, peace be upon him, in the
- 13:51early days of Islam, and the Prophet was reclining on his cloak
- 13:54in the Kaaba.
- 13:57O Messenger of God, will you not seek victory for us?
- 13:59Will you not pray for us?
- 14:01We are sleeping on the ground with stones upon us in the desert sun
- 14:04because of the words 'Say, He is God, [ who is] One'.
- 14:07He, peace be upon him, said: 'Before you, people were brought, a
- 14:11pit dug for them, and they were combed with iron combs between
- 14:15flesh and bone, yet it did not turn them from their religion.
- 14:18' By God, this matter will be completed, but you are impatient.
- 14:23So the goal is not for me to survive and live in a palace;
- 14:25no, the goal is for the matter to be completed, whether by my hands
- 14:29or by the hands of others.
- 14:30This mind is the natural mind that God has held accountable.
- 14:34But the childish mind is an entitlement-based mind.
- 14:36It is the mind of East Asian atheism.
- 14:38Unfortunately, with respect to your culture, studies, and knowledge, we
- 14:43have a problem here.
- 14:44That is why this dialogue is so important.
- 14:46I hope everyone listening shares it, because this is the core
- 14:50existential question today: we have become entitlement-based minds.
- 14:55I mean, I topped up my card, rubbed the magic lamp, recited my
- 14:59supplications, and yet this happens to me?
- 15:01This is exactly the idea of 'we struck their ears' — the idea that
- 15:05you are supposed to follow the path.
- 15:07This happened, that happened.
- 15:09This is the will of the Lord of the Worlds.
- 15:11So we treat the Lord of the Worlds as if He were a magic wand.
- 15:15We treat the Lord of the Worlds as if He were a wish-granting tool.
- 15:19I did this, so You must do that for me.
- 15:21Otherwise, how are You a Lord, and so on?
- 15:24So here, we will reach a certain stage, one of three things.
- 15:28And if you happen to have a fourth one, please tell me.
- 15:31Either the Lord — exalted is He far above that — either the deity is
- 15:35unjust, or He does not exist, or He is truly wise.
- 15:38It is one of these three possibilities.
- 15:41Right or wrong?
- 15:43Do you have a fourth option?
- 15:44A fourth possibility?
- 15:45No, it 's either He is unjust — exalted and glorified is God — or
- 15:49He does n't exist at all, or He is wise.
- 15:52Right.
- 15:53I do have a fourth one.
- 15:54Go ahead.
- 15:55Not wise.
- 15:56That would be unjust, so ultimately , it 's the first possibility.
- 15:59Wisdom is different from injustice;
- 16:01I mean, unjust vs.
- 16:02just, but ...
- 16:02How can unjust be just?
- 16:04I mean, the opposite of unjust is just.
- 16:07But the wise one who
- 16:08has wisdom in their actions.
- 16:11For me, 'not wise' ...
- 16:13I do n't mean, I mean ...
- 16:15I agree with you, it would still fall under the category of
- 16:18injustice or or or issues of imperfection, you know.
- 16:21Right.
- 16:21So, it 's either an unjust god or one who has flaws — exalted and
- 16:25glorified is God far above that.
- 16:27Which is imperfection.
- 16:28Right, exactly.
- 16:29Or it 's that He does n't exist at all, and we are just in a material world.
- 16:33Or that He is wise.
- 16:34That 's it.
- 16:35So, a god — exalted is God above that — who is unjust or has a lack
- 16:39of perfection.
- 16:40The word 'unjust' or 'lack of perfection' means, logically
- 16:44speaking, that He is not truly self-sufficient.
- 16:47This implies that He is not, by definition, self-sufficient.
- 16:51And would n't be fit to be a god at all.
- 16:53Well said.
- 16:54So, if He is not truly self-sufficient, then He must need
- 16:57something else, and therefore He is not 'necessarily existent,' because
- 17:01according to logicians, that which is not self-sufficient is
- 17:05'contingently existent.
- 17:06' A contingently existent being derives its existence from
- 17:10something else, so what exactly does it require?
- 17:14A creator, and then we enter into a circular argument or an infinite
- 17:18regress.
- 17:19I 'll give you an example: my phone needs to be charged, so I plug it
- 17:23into the charger.
- 17:23It turns out the charger itself needs to be charged, and the next
- 17:27charger needs to be charged, and so on, infinitely.
- 17:29This one will get charged.
- 17:31This one will never get charged because we 've entered into, what?
- 17:34A circular argument.
- 17:35So the predecessors of the nation said that an infinite regress of
- 17:39agents leads to the non-occurrence of actions.
- 17:41Meaning, if the Lord — God is exalted far above that — were not
- 17:45perfect, not self-sufficient, and in need of another, then He would
- 17:48need another, and another.
- 17:50It 's the same thing.
- 17:51We 've entered into an infinite regress.
- 17:53If that were the case, this God would not exist, and we would n't
- 17:56exist today to ask this question.
- 17:58I mean, we are asking this question.
- 18:00Therefore, there must be a Necessary Existent who is
- 18:02self-sufficient and perfect.
- 18:04Because if He were deficient, He would need someone else.
- 18:06He would then become a 'contingent being' according to the logicians.
- 18:11So, the question about an 'unjust God' is, in itself, logically
- 18:14impossible before anything else.
- 18:16A question that should n't even be asked today in the first place.
- 18:19Because if He were deficient, He would not be self-sufficient, and
- 18:22He would be in need of someone else.
- 18:24Deriving the possibility of His existence from someone else.
- 18:28And here we enter into an infinite regress, which is logically
- 18:31impossible to begin with.
- 18:33The second option is that He does n't exist at all.
- 18:36We were raised on a religion.
- 18:38And religion is a human construct.
- 18:40And religion is this and that.
- 18:42And when we saw injustice, it became clear to us that He does n't
- 18:45exist at all.
- 18:47If God did not exist and we are merely children of this vast
- 18:51material world, then we are truly just children of this nature.
- 18:55Then what would we be?
- 18:57Chemical determinisms.
- 18:59And random atoms.
- 19:00Random atoms in nature.
- 19:01That created Haitham.
- 19:02That created Iman.
- 19:04Created so-and-so.
- 19:05Created.
- 19:06Created humans.
- 19:07Okay, random atoms.
- 19:09Can they produce a thought that you and I can use as a standard to
- 19:13judge by?
- 19:13Of course not;
- 19:14random atoms will produce a standard that you and I can refer to?
- 19:18The absence of the Creator is the absence of the reference point that
- 19:22we refer to in the first place, So you are referring to a standard
- 19:26that does n't exist in a material world at all.
- 19:29Therefore, as C.S.
- 19:30Lewis said, 'My argument against God was that the world seemed to
- 19:34have injustice in it. '
- 19:35This is what C.S.
- 19:37Lewis said;
- 19:37he was a famous Irish atheist.
- 19:39But for a moment I thought, I describe a line as not straight
- 19:44because I have an idea of a straight line.
- 19:46So what was I comparing this world to when I claimed it had injustice?
- 19:51What was I comparing it to in the first place?
- 19:55If the world were, from beginning to end, meaningless, I would never
- 19:59have realized that it was meaningless.
- 20:01So here we fall into the problem that it is impossible to understand
- 20:05the meaning of injustice and justice except in a world of moral
- 20:08responsibility.
- 20:09You are asking about injustice because you are in a world of moral
- 20:13responsibility to begin with.
- 20:16So the standard for judging that there is good and there is evil,
- 20:20there is injustice and there is justice.
- 20:23I need something and I have n't found the Lord, this feeling is
- 20:26because I am not a son of this world, and by God, I am not a son
- 20:30of random atoms.
- 20:31And I am telling you, there is something that if any human were to
- 20:34study it, by God, no atheist would be able to stand before it.
- 20:38It is impossible for an atheist to stand before it;
- 20:41it is called Hume 's Guillotine, this guillotine.
- 20:44I am sorry, it falls on the neck of atheism and, by God, it breaks it.
- 20:48It is impossible for anyone to study it and for an atheist to
- 20:51stand before it.
- 20:52This guillotine asks us, what is?
- 20:54That we are merely chemical determinisms and random atoms,
- 20:58nothing more.
- 20:59Okay, but then what ought to be?
- 21:01What truly ought to be in this world?
- 21:04No, these are many, many things.
- 21:07What truly ought to be is that there is genuine good, there is
- 21:10justice, and there is, indeed, a profound human consciousness.
- 21:14there is reason, there is logic, there is free will.
- 21:18The leap from what is to what ought to be.
- 21:22An atheistic leap of faith.
- 21:24Atheism, in the end, is a belief.
- 21:27Any atheism is a belief that believes in dogmas that have no
- 21:30existential proof, I mean.
- 21:31So it is, in the end, a leap of faith that has no evidence, neither
- 21:36from matter nor from random atoms.
- 21:39What is?
- 21:39We are random atoms.
- 21:41Okay, what ought to be.
- 21:43I have consciousness.
- 21:44Well, can a random atom produce consciousness?
- 21:47No.
- 21:47Take random atoms and put them in a lab;
- 21:50it 's impossible for them to produce consciousness.
- 21:53Today, even with all our technology, we can not turn inanimate atoms
- 21:57into conscious ones, no matter how much knowledge we gain.
- 22:02So how could primordial nature produce consciousness and humans?
- 22:05And secondly, these atoms are governed by physics.
- 22:09If we are children of nature, then we are physics.
- 22:12But what ought to be.
- 22:13I have free will to choose or not to choose.
- 22:16But the equation is deterministic.
- 22:18So there is a leap here, meaning it combines two worlds that do not
- 22:21belong to the same frame of reference at all.
- 22:24A material world and a world of moral accountability.
- 22:27It is impossible for me to reconcile the two in a human being
- 22:30except by believing that I am created by God Almighty.
- 22:33You appeal to reason.
- 22:34What is the meaning of reason in an atheistic world?
- 22:38How can I trust reason at all in a material world, as Darwin said?
- 22:42How can I trust a mind that originated from lower animals?
- 22:45So, no.
- 22:46There is no reason in an atheistic world.
- 22:49Hume 's guillotine, [ and] five things: consciousness.
- 22:52Free will.
- 22:53Objective morality.
- 22:55And the' I', which is the self.
- 22:57I mean, how do atoms form 'me', Haitham, as a human being?
- 23:01Well, these are different, scattered atoms;
- 23:04how do they form ... ...
- 23:06a self?
- 23:06So I refer to myself as' I'.
- 23:08This' I' is a very big problem.
- 23:10And the last one is logic.
- 23:12What does 'logic' mean?
- 23:14Fixed, universal, abstract ideas.
- 23:16Where do they derive their fixity and universality from?
- 23:19This guillotine is very important for anyone to study because it
- 23:23truly exposes atheism in its forms, given that God does not exist.
- 23:26You and I would n't be sitting here today talking about injustice, or
- 23:30about how I wished for something that did n't happen.
- 23:33This session means that I am tasked, that there is a trial.
- 23:38So, the only remaining option is that there is a wise God whose
- 23:42wisdom we can not fully comprehend, who created this world within a
- 23:46framework of duty, a framework of testing, a framework where we are
- 23:50actually being tested by this — your trial is in that thing you
- 23:54wished for but did n't get.
- 23:57Haitham 's trial lies in private moments.
- 23:59For a woman, it might be the skin on her arm or neck showing.
- 24:03Her trial is this: will she struggle with her love for
- 24:07adornment and choose to cover up or not?
- 24:10Or maybe,' I will give in to the world.
- 24:12' So, every person has a trial destined for them in a specific
- 24:15area that is theirs, because we are in a world of duty, sir.
- 24:19We are in an exam hall, not a wedding hall.
- 24:22You judge me as if we are in a wedding hall.
- 24:25No, sir.
- 24:26We are in an exam hall.
- 24:28We wo n't understand the meaning of this system unless we understand
- 24:32its purpose.
- 24:34You and I have entered, may God grant you wellness.
- 24:37A hospital, Haytham.
- 24:38There 's no jacuzzi here, and there 's no sauna.
- 24:40This is n't a spa.
- 24:41This is a hospital.
- 24:42So we understand the purpose of life.
- 24:44The purpose of life is a duty, not a wedding hall.
- 24:46I apologize if I have taken too much of your time, but take your time.
- 24:50Answer with whatever you like.
- 24:51Do you have any other questions?
- 24:52I am with you, God willing.
- 24:54Alright, I mean, the topic you 've spoken about several times before,
- 24:58the subject of the human mind in general, and just how truly amazing it is.
- 25:03Even the disbelievers, in the proper sense of the word, talk
- 25:07about this human mind, the complex cells within it, and how it is
- 25:11something that is really beyond any simple description.
- 25:14Well, at this very moment, my own human mind, which is supposed to be
- 25:19beyond description, is telling me things that I simply can not accept
- 25:23or even begin to comprehend.
- 25:26I ca n't bring myself to believe them.
- 25:27The existence of the evidence being presented to me by Sheikh so-and-so
- 25:31and scholar so-and-so.
- 25:33I am not accepting it.
- 25:34I do n't feel like it convinces me.
- 25:37I mean, okay.
- 25:38I might be able to accept the existence of a God.
- 25:41And just as you say, if that were the case, we certainly would n't be
- 25:44sitting here right now discussing something as complex as this.
- 25:47But on the other hand, I have to be honest — God has revealed profound
- 25:51things to me about His own nature, and He has informed us of specific
- 25:54truths about Himself that, quite frankly, I have n't found anywhere
- 25:57else in my own searching.
- 25:59So, it 's not a matter of me just denying things like that,
- 26:03or that I 'm out here just wanting to deny religion for the sake of it.
- 26:07But I am saying that my mind tells me that God gave us things where He
- 26:11said,' I am such and such.
- 26:12' For example,' I am near and I answer the call of the supplicant
- 26:16when he calls upon Me. '
- 26:18Here, I do n't actually have any details in the verse other than the
- 26:22interpretation that comes from scholars or, for instance, from the Sunnah.
- 26:26But when God spoke, He said, ' I am near and I am the responder.
- 26:29' And He spoke to me about Himself, saying that among the names and
- 26:33attributes of God is 'As-Samad' ( The Eternal Refuge), to whom all
- 26:36creation turns for their needs.
- 26:39Okay, when I am required to believe in the unseen, and that whatever
- 26:43happens is for a wisdom that God knows and has ordained.
- 26:46Well, I ...
- 26:47I want to turn to Him for refuge now.
- 26:49Is n't this the God to whom all creation turns for refuge?
- 26:52Well, I am in a trial.
- 26:53I have a problem.
- 26:54I want the God to whom I can turn for refuge to solve my problem, or
- 26:58should I go to a human and complain?
- 27:00They say, 'Complain to God. '
- 27:02Okay, I complain to God, and they tell me, 'This is for a wisdom.
- 27:05' But I want to solve the problem.
- 27:07I am not asking, Dr.
- 27:08Haitham, for what you call 'worthiness' or 'entitlement'.
- 27:12No, I am asking because God asked me that when something happens to
- 27:16me, I should seek His help and turn to Him, And that He is near,
- 27:20And that He is closer to me than my jugular vein.
- 27:23Well, in return, when I started doing that, I did n't find that.
- 27:27So the issue is not about worthiness.
- 27:29The issue is that I have a holy book that told me things that, in
- 27:33reality, I am not seeing, And when I carried it out and followed it, I
- 27:37did n't see it.
- 27:37And the justifications of the scholars, and scholars have their
- 27:41weight, are justifications that I see as illogical.
- 27:47Unconvincing and illogical.
- 27:48Illogical for the amazing human mind.
- 27:50These justifications are illogical.
- 27:53That always, for example, more than.
- 27:56From a sheikh, they always say about the prayer that was n't
- 27:58answered.
- 27:59Surely the fault is yours. No.
- 28:01Unequivocally, the fault is yours.
- 28:02There is no such thing as that, Dr.
- 28:04Haitham.
- 28:05Enough with the answering of prayers or the response to prayers.
- 28:09Yes, the ways in which prayers are answered.
- 28:10Well, if we ...
- 28:11We 've reached a crucial point: God is Wise.
- 28:14It is rationally impossible to claim He is unjust, just as it is
- 28:17impossible to claim He does not exist.
- 28:20We are discussing God 's wisdom.
- 28:22Of course, scholars do not offer justifications.
- 28:26Scholars offer explanations.
- 28:27And an explanation is a priori, while a justification is a
- 28:30posteriori.
- 28:32An explanation is a priori, meaning before we even existed, there was a
- 28:36text telling us that we are in a world of accountability,
- 28:40that we are in a world of testing, So this is not an a posteriori
- 28:44justification, This is an a priori explanation.
- 28:46The text tells me that you will be in a world of accountability,
- 28:50So when I am in a world of accountability, drowning in
- 28:53blessings, But I have a request I want fulfilled, I pray to God and
- 28:56He does n't answer.
- 28:58Well, [ He said]' I am near'.
- 28:59The One who said' I am near ' also said — what did He say?
- 29:02He said ...
- 29:03He said that there are indeed some obstacles to our supplication.
- 29:07He told me that your problem, or Haitham 's problem, or anyone 's
- 29:11problem ... ...
- 29:12is that, unfortunately, you do n't understand the standard or the
- 29:15meaning of accountability.
- 29:17Sir, I swear, your problem is not with the Creator, nor is it with
- 29:21religion.
- 29:21Your problem is with your expectations of life.
- 29:25I expected such and such to happen, and it did n't happen, so that is
- 29:28your entire problem.
- 29:29So this falls within the framework of understanding why God did that.
- 29:33The first thing and the first rule in this matter is that God Almighty
- 29:37has informed us about Himself and informed us in His verses that when
- 29:41we pray to God Almighty and take the necessary means, we must know
- 29:45that God does not decree anything but good, in accordance with His
- 29:49will, His desire, and His sovereignty,
- 29:52and not according to what we desire,
- 29:54"And if the Truth had followed
- 29:55their inclinations." Here I am, asking God, and I really want such
- 29:58and such to happen.
- 30:00God Himself, who said 'Call upon Me', said what?
- 30:02"But if the Truth had followed
- 30:03their inclinations, the heavens
- 30:05and the earth and whoever is in
- 30:06them would have been ruined."
- 30:08If everything I desire must happen, the whole world might actually be
- 30:12ruined.
- 30:13We are the same story, after all.
- 30:15You have turned the Lord into a magic genie.
- 30:17Abracadabra.
- 30:19He will give you what you actually want, But He does not care about
- 30:22the consequences.
- 30:23He does not care about that.
- 30:24When the Tatar invasion of the Muslim lands happened,
- 30:28it was one of the greatest trials ever.
- 30:30Ibn al-Athir wrote in his book, 'The Complete History',
- 30:34"How can I write the obituary of
- 30:36Islam and the Muslims? I wish my
- 30:38mother had not given birth to me." Islam is ending.
- 30:40Superficially, the pixel of fate that I am standing on,
- 30:43The world has been ruined.
- 30:45But what happened a few years later, Oh God.
- 30:48Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan , Uzbekistan,
- 30:50Tajikistan.
- 30:51Dozens of countries or dozens of cities of the descendants of the
- 30:55Tatars entered Islam.
- 30:57Hundreds of millions of people.
- 30:59So, superficially, I am in a trial that has not been lifted from me
- 31:03for years, even though I am praying to God.
- 31:05This perspective is the perspective of a magic genie.
- 31:09Not the Lord of the Worlds, the Almighty.
- 31:11You are telling my great human mind that I still have issues.
- 31:15Who told you that the mind guides me in a mandatory framework to submit?
- 31:19On the contrary, God Himself said in His Holy Book.
- 31:23And this is a very, very important point, that there are definitive
- 31:26principles, meaning certainties about the validity of the religion,
- 31:30and there are other ambiguous things that I am unable to
- 31:32understand.
- 31:33Why did God delay this answer for me?
- 31:35Well, why did God create these ambiguous things?
- 31:38"As for those in whose hearts is
- 31:39deviation, they follow that which
- 31:41is ambiguous of it."
- 31:43Am I going to disbelieve because what I wanted did n't happen?
- 31:46What is the connection?
- 31:47And I am sorry, by God.
- 31:49Atheism in the world is of two types: cognitive and reactive.
- 31:52Cognitive atheism is the one involving complex existential
- 31:56questions.
- 31:57That is over.
- 31:58There is no purely cognitive atheism in the world today.
- 32:02All atheism in the world is of this reactive type.
- 32:05I wanted something, and it did n't happen.
- 32:08Which is 'now and immediately'.
- 32:09Which is what we said a little while ago.
- 32:11The collective infantile mind that the world is heading towards.
- 32:15Which is all just reactions.
- 32:16The Sheikh said such-and-such, and I 'm mocking him.
- 32:19It 's all just reactions.
- 32:20I do n't know, look at this fatwa.
- 32:22Look at this doubt.
- 32:23How does this relate to atheism, denying a Creator, or the unseen?
- 32:26It proves atheism is just reactive.
- 32:29I have a psychological reaction.
- 32:30What does a psychological reaction have to do with me leaving religion?
- 32:34This is resolved within religion, which told me, 'Call upon Me, I
- 32:37will answer you.
- 32:38' It also said, 'If the Truth had followed their inclinations ...
- 32:41' and 'Prepare against them whatever you are able of power. '
- 32:44It told me that one must take the necessary means.
- 32:47It told me that I might pray to God for something, and the exact
- 32:49opposite happens.
- 32:51Our Lord, grant us mercy.
- 32:53Save us from this cave and this unjust king.
- 32:55So We cast a cover over their ears in the Cave for a number of years.
- 32:59300 years sitting in the cave, sleeping.
- 33:01They did n't change the world, nor did they change anything at all.
- 33:04But after 3 centuries, they would create faith in the nation.
- 33:08So, unfortunately, our perspective is one of entitlement, even if you
- 33:11deny that outwardly to me.
- 33:13Therefore, we must pay attention to a very important point.
- 33:16The profound idea that supplication, or Dua, was ordained by God
- 33:20Almighty is certainly not so that this world would become a perfect
- 33:23paradise.
- 33:23No, by God, that is not the purpose of it at all.
- 33:26Supplication is worship.
- 33:28Supplication is worship.
- 33:29What does it mean that it is worship?
- 33:31It means that my entire life should be the embodiment of supplication.
- 33:35The former Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, may God have mercy on him, Abdel
- 33:38Halim Mahmoud, was asked: What is the Greatest Name of God?
- 33:41He told them the Greatest Name of God is in piety ( Taqwa).
- 33:44Meaning, when my entire life is in accordance with the will of the
- 33:47Lord of the Worlds.
- 33:49When I say 'Oh Lord', that is the Greatest Name of God, through which
- 33:52the answer to the supplication is realized.
- 33:55But does this make me treat God — exalted be He — as a god of
- 33:58experimentation?
- 34:00Like,' I 'm going to pray now, I 'm recharging the card. '
- 34:02So I 've recharged the card, prayed, supplicated to God Almighty, and
- 34:05done everything, then I put it in the ATM.
- 34:08And it does n't give me what I want.
- 34:10Desire does not create entitlement.
- 34:13My desire does n't mean that I deserve it.
- 34:16No, the matter is completely different from that.
- 34:18And we must understand from this that, unfortunately, the childish
- 34:21mind — not you, of course, I 'm talking about the collective mind —
- 34:24is following its own path.
- 34:26The childish mind treats the Lord of the Worlds as if He were a
- 34:29shopping god for Egyptian judges.
- 34:32So, unfortunately, one of the rules of divine obligation within us is
- 34:36interpreted with a prior explanation, not a post-hoc
- 34:40justification.
- 34:41That the essence of divine obligation lies in the hidden
- 34:44aspects of wisdom.
- 34:45The essence of my obligation is that some wisdom is hidden.
- 34:50If I knew the wisdom behind everything, this would n't be a
- 34:53world of obligation at all, nor would we be in a test.
- 34:56So, you and I are fully certain that we do not encompass the web of
- 34:59causes in this world, nor the entire tapestry of destiny.
- 35:02Therefore, what I personally want to happen, hope will happen, and
- 35:06wish will happen, might actually have the good — by God — in the
- 35:09opposite of it.
- 35:10And this has proofs on the level of every person who knows it from
- 35:14themselves, by God.
- 35:16If I use myself as a benchmark, you have taken yourself as a benchmark too.
- 35:20When I was about your age, I had panic attacks — the most dangerous kind.
- 35:24I was literally writing my will, just giving up, and I had no idea
- 35:28what was happening to me.
- 35:30I went around to cardiologists.
- 35:31No one knew how to diagnose it.
- 35:33And I was praying the prayer of the distressed and breaking down.
- 35:36Until one day, I truly prayed the prayer of the distressed.
- 35:39Oh Lord, I want to know what I have.
- 35:40And as a doctor, any physician has an internal medicine reference book,
- 35:43like four thousand pages, something like that, may God bless it.
- 35:46By God, besides whom there is no other god.
- 35:48After I prayed the prayer of the distressed, I opened the book.
- 35:52I want to diagnose myself.
- 35:53No one could even diagnose me.
- 35:55I swear, I open it to the left side.
- 35:58panic attack symptoms.
- 36:00Symptoms of a panic attack.
- 36:02I look down the list, I have all of this.
- 36:05I went to the top cardiology professor in Egypt at the time. Dr.
- 36:08Nasser, may God bless you, Doctor, I have panic.
- 36:12He told me, '100 %, Haitham, does this even need asking?
- 36:15I 'm spinning, sir.
- 36:16' This issue should have lifted the affliction by now.
- 36:19But I swear by God, there is no god but Him.
- 36:21Today, I thank God for this affliction that happened to me,
- 36:24because it was keeping me in check.
- 36:26I would go one way, then think, 'No, I need to fix myself, I 'm going to
- 36:30die anyway.
- 36:30' It turned out He was disciplining me while I was n't even aware.
- 36:34So this matter is endless for every one of us.
- 36:36I was about to go and join my batch for the application process to be
- 36:39assigned as doctors.
- 36:43And my ID card, the paperwork, I swear it got lost.
- 36:46And if I did n't go tomorrow, I would have missed my batch, as if I
- 36:49had lost my future, that 's it.
- 36:51I swear by God, there is no god but Him.
- 36:53I prayed the supplication of the distressed.
- 36:56Oh Lord, I do n't know how to solve this.
- 36:58I was finishing the second taslim.
- 37:00The ID card was right under my hand on the other side;
- 37:03I saw it.
- 37:03Believe me or not, that 's up to you.
- 37:05But this is a solemn oath.
- 37:06If I were lying, it would plunge its owner into the Fire.
- 37:10But the point is, every person does this and finds the effect of the
- 37:14Lord of the Worlds' answer.
- 37:16But when it happens that the panic attacks are not lifted from me for years.
- 37:19Today I say, O Allah, all praise is due to You for this affliction.
- 37:23This is what set me straight.
- 37:24Therefore, the most severely tested people are the prophets, then those
- 37:27who are like them, and so on, because they are the ones who will
- 37:31lead the world.
- 37:31Once, Sayyiduna Umar ibn al-Khattab entered upon the Prophet, peace be
- 37:35upon him, in the same situation as yours.
- 37:37He entered and saw the Prophet, peace be upon him, sitting.
- 37:40This was near the very end of his life, at a time when he ruled over
- 37:44most of the Arabian Peninsula, encompassing many countries we know
- 37:47today, peace be upon him.
- 37:48He saw the Prophet, peace be upon him, sitting upon a simple, worn
- 37:52mat that had left visible marks on his side, and he saw nothing but a
- 37:55humble loincloth on him, truly nothing else at all.
- 37:59He looked around the Prophet 's house, the most honorable of men,
- 38:03and found nothing but a handful of barley.
- 38:06So Umar wept,
- 38:08The Prophet, peace be upon him, asked, 'Why do you weep, O son of
- 38:11Al-Khattab?
- 38:11What makes you cry? '
- 38:12He said, 'Messenger of God, Chosroes and Caesar are in fruits
- 38:15and rivers. '
- 38:16'and you, the mat has left marks on your side. '
- 38:19He said, 'Are you not pleased that the Hereafter is for us and the
- 38:22worldly life is for them? '
- 38:23I said, 'Yes, I am. '
- 38:24This is the standard.
- 38:25The centrality of the Hereafter in a person 's life.
- 38:28Please remember that we are in an examination hall, not a wedding
- 38:31hall, so let 's keep it quiet.
- 38:33So it is very natural for something I desire to be delayed.
- 38:36In fact, if every desire were fulfilled and every wisdom were
- 38:40revealed, By God, the world would have ended.
- 38:42By God, there would n't have been a world at all to begin with.
- 38:45They asked, 'Why was n't an angel sent to him?
- 38:48' If We had sent one, the matter would be decided.
- 38:50Because if I want everything revealed before my eyes,
- 38:54Then that 's it, time would have ended and the test would be over.
- 38:57The essence of the test lies in the hidden wisdom, that you struggle
- 39:01with yourself for this thing, and it does n't come to you.
- 39:04And there is no human being who is not like that.
- 39:06By the way, everyone has their own specific area.
- 39:08Muhammad 's challenge is that he ca n't pray Fajr, the devil overcomes him.
- 39:12Someone else 's challenge is that her hijab is n't quite right.
- 39:15Someone else 's challenge is that they ca n't resist the bribe they
- 39:19are offered in the drawer they open, they ca n't stand up for their own
- 39:23interests.
- 39:23So your challenge is in this area, every person has a challenge in a
- 39:27specific area.
- 39:28Because in the end, we are in a world of accountability.
- 39:31If I were in a wedding hall, this would n't be the world.
- 39:34If desire created entitlement, the Lord of the Worlds would have
- 39:38turned into a causal law;
- 39:39the Lord would have become a causal law.
- 39:42You do this, you get that.
- 39:44Which is what the advocate of spiritual atheism is promoting today.
- 39:47Amira Al-Maghrabi.
- 39:48It is the cause and the result, which is entitlement.
- 39:51If you do this, you must get that.
- 39:53What does Ahmed Emara tell you?
- 39:55It 's impossible to get sick if you 've achieved entitlement.
- 39:57Living in an atheistic, materialistic world without
- 40:00accountability, you 've denied the Lord 's power.
- 40:02That 's why this issue has spread so widely in East Asia.
- 40:06And it started reaching us through proponents of spiritual atheism,
- 40:08and through, and through.
- 40:10So, it is very, very natural in the world of causes for the network of
- 40:14causes to be hidden from us.
- 40:16Because the essence of your accountability and mine lies in the
- 40:19hiddenness of wisdom.
- 40:20If the wisdom were apparent, by God, we would n't be in this world at all.
- 40:23So I 'll tell you just one last thing, and I hope, I mean ...
- 40:26I mean, that we really grasp it, by God, in this regard.
- 40:30The tablet of destiny is known only to the Lord of the Worlds.
- 40:34The tablet of destiny, the tablet of destiny must contain a part that
- 40:38hurts you because you are being tested.
- 40:41The tablet of destiny.
- 40:43I wanted something, and it did n't happen.
- 40:46So, will I remain steadfast in this, or will I relapse?
- 40:49`` And of the people is he who worships Allah on an edge.
- 40:52If he is touched by good, he is reassured by it;
- 40:55If struck by trial, he turns away.
- 40:57He has lost this world and the Hereafter.
- 41:00So, you and I, every person in the world, will inevitably encounter
- 41:04both good and trial.
- 41:05I am reassured and happy.
- 41:06May God protect us all.
- 41:07If a trial happens tomorrow, he turns on his face, losing both this
- 41:10world and the Hereafter.
- 41:12So this must happen.
- 41:13I pray for something, and it happens.
- 41:15I find affliction persists, yet good comes of it.
- 41:17The decrees of the Lord of the Worlds.
- 41:20Because He is not a magic genie who gives me whatever I want.
- 41:23As if He does n't care about the outcomes.
- 41:25No, He is the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth, sir.
- 41:28Do you have any comments on this?
- 41:30Yes, I do.
- 41:31I mean, I have started, I mean, in ...
- 41:33Many things have started to become clear from ...
- 41:35From what was said previously.
- 41:37You are saying that everything happens for a reason.
- 41:39And that it 's not ...
- 41:40It 's not a given that my prayer will be answered.
- 41:43Because, at the end of the day, this is wisdom.
- 41:45And that this is in the realm of the unseen.
- 41:47Well, I have ...
- 41:48And you are also saying that we have an obligation.
- 41:51And that we are obligated.
- 41:52Well, as long as I have an obligation ...
- 41:54And of course, it 's known that obligation is generally difficult
- 41:57and arduous for the human soul, you know.
- 42:01And yet, everything is with wisdom, and it is hidden from us.
- 42:04Well, what do I need to do, as long as everything is by prior will?
- 42:08And God will do what He wants.
- 42:10And He is the Knower of what is good and evil for me.
- 42:14So, what do I need to bother with worship and the things I 'm going
- 42:17to sit and do, the heavy burden of worship and the dhikr (
- 42:20remembrances)?
- 42:21And while others, for example, are in entertainment or out and about,
- 42:25I have my Quran recitation and my dhikr ( remembrances).
- 42:30In the end, the will is God 's will , and what God wants will happen.
- 42:33So, why do I need to bother with something like this, with these
- 42:37acts of worship?
- 42:38Yes, the second point is that, you know, whoever leaves something for
- 42:41the sake of God, God will compensate them with something better.
- 42:44Yes, I have left many, many things for the sake of God.
- 42:48And by the way, I would also like to reiterate to you that I was in a
- 42:51period of certainty untainted by any doubt.
- 42:54I mean, the obsessive thoughts had n't even entered my mind yet, and I
- 42:57was doing everything.
- 42:58I was giving everything up with complete contentment.
- 43:01And I knew that I was giving it up for God 's sake so that He would
- 43:04compensate me, and I was confident.
- 43:06And I had certainty, by the way, that God would compensate me.
- 43:09I was working a respectable job at a respectable company, and, you
- 43:13know, there was harassment and things like that.
- 43:16And I realized, of course, the mixing [ of genders], so I decided
- 43:20to move on from the niqab.
- 43:21I ultimately decided that staying in this job was the better choice
- 43:25for me, and that was the end of it.
- 43:26I truly trust that God will compensate me in abundance for this.
- 43:30Many situations over separate years.
- 43:32I have n't seen the result of compensation for something I left.
- 43:35And it is supposed that this is a Hadith.
- 43:38And it is generally supposed that the Sunnah is in complete agreement
- 43:41with the Quran.
- 43:42There is also something regarding the perceived rigidity in the Quran
- 43:46towards women, or perhaps in Sharia law in general, which is often
- 43:49cited as being against women.
- 43:51I mean, there is extreme rigidity in terms of the fact that men, of
- 43:55course, have the issue of polygamy — two, three, and four.
- 43:59Well, you know, a woman — a woman simply can not do anything at all
- 44:03without it being held against her, no matter what she tries.
- 44:06Well, a man 's eyes wandered to a woman.
- 44:08After all, this is an instinct that God placed in him.
- 44:11God placed this instinct in both men and women.
- 44:14I mean, both sexes are inclined toward the other.
- 44:17Well, if a woman does that, she is considered a bad woman, or
- 44:21ill-mannered.
- 44:23But for a man, sir, he can just get married, no problem.
- 44:27As if, you know, the matter for you ...
- 44:28Well, God placed in you an inclination toward the opposite sex,
- 44:32and He placed in her an inclination toward the opposite sex as well.
- 44:35Why this preference?
- 44:37A woman is always considered deficient.
- 44:39I wo n't talk about being deficient in intellect and religion.
- 44:42Because, you know, I understand that point.
- 44:44But I will say that, for example, any woman who marries without a
- 44:48guardian, her marriage is invalid;
- 44:50a guardian is necessary.
- 44:52Well, as we take a closer look, we can clearly see that there are
- 44:55guardians here.
- 44:58He does n't choose the suitable husband.
- 45:00I mean, the guardian might actually choose the husband just because he
- 45:03has money.
- 45:04And he, I mean, we know his reputation and we know ...
- 45:07Well, he is a guardian.
- 45:09And yet, I ca n't do anything because I do n't have a guardian.
- 45:13Okay, the hijab.
- 45:15Our clothing.
- 45:16No, because for women, they convince us — I mean, they persuade
- 45:20us — that this is modesty.
- 45:21And that you are a jewel.
- 45:23And you are I do n't know what.
- 45:25I mean, I do n't feel that way about this.
- 45:27Meaning, you 're a jewel, so you have to be covered.
- 45:31But the man ...
- 45:32The man is completely free, and his 'awrah' is only from the knee to
- 45:36the navel.
- 45:37And life is fine.
- 45:38I mean, there 's no problem at all.
- 45:40I wish you were a man.
- 45:41Is n't that what you 're saying implies?
- 45:44No, I see that there is stubbornness in ...
- 45:47in the orders.
- 45:48So I wished you were a man.
- 45:49No, if there 's stubbornness, I 'd rather be on that side, not this one.
- 45:53I wished I could have those freedoms, even if they are n't
- 45:56completely loose, you know.
- 45:57No, I wished at least that I would n't be [ the one restricted] all
- 46:01the time.
- 46:02No, I simply can not travel anywhere unless a 'mahram' is with me.
- 46:06I can not go out unless I am fully covered and bundled up just so I
- 46:10can be a 'virtuous woman,' while for him, it is completely normal.
- 46:14He can travel freely and normally.
- 46:16He can wear whatever.
- 46:18Are you comparing yourself to a man?
- 46:19I mean, it 's one thing for a woman to compare herself to another woman,
- 46:23but to compare herself to a man?
- 46:25No, I 'm comparing the orders with that.
- 46:27And a woman, I mean, just look at that.
- 46:30You wish you were a man.
- 46:31Do n't deny it, your words say so, and do n't deny it, I swear it 's clear.
- 46:35Longed to be a man.
- 46:36And you 're upset that you 're a woman.
- 46:38No, that 's not true.
- 46:39But your own words clearly say that, that a woman ...
- 46:42The rights.
- 46:43Guaranteed in everything.
- 46:44He has taken all the rights.
- 46:46But I see that a woman 's rights are guaranteed.
- 46:48Okay, fine, so give me the other points as well.
- 46:51I agree with your questions, God willing.
- 46:53May He help us answer them, Sheikh.
- 46:54What 's your take as a man?
- 46:55We will just leave ...
- 46:56yes, but I am taking my turn so that she can have her time to
- 46:59present her points.
- 47:01But the last problem with me was also there and still persists.
- 47:04Excuse me, you are talking about ...
- 47:06I am talking about the sheikhs' justifications.
- 47:08You are talking about interpretations at first and
- 47:10justifications later.
- 47:12But it does n't mean ...
- 47:13the sheikhs' responses in general, even the trusted sheikhs, I find
- 47:17them very difficult to accept, that for everything I tell you, you tell
- 47:21me 'take the necessary measures,' and that taking measures is part of
- 47:25complete reliance on God.
- 47:27Okay, when I have taken all the necessary measures, and when I have
- 47:31done everything, I mean, I have investigated everything you are
- 47:35saying, and yet you come and tell me, you find another excuse to
- 47:38portray the image of God as you want me to see it.
- 47:41Meaning, all the time, it 's that your prayer was lacking.
- 47:45Or that you were lacking certainty in the first place.
- 47:48Well, I am telling you that this did n't happen.
- 47:51So you did n't take enough measures.
- 47:53No, I really did.
- 47:54I mean, I actually did that;
- 47:55I gave to charity, and I honestly did all the actions you told me to do.
- 47:59And yet, you come and justify it to me by saying the fault is yours,
- 48:03and the deficiency is definitely yours, even if it 's not apparent.
- 48:07The matter of supplication has three states.
- 48:10Because most of the issues regarding supplication, when
- 48:13questions come up or similar, it 's always — to the point that I 've
- 48:17gotten tired of the many videos I listen to — it 's all the same
- 48:20hadith: that supplication has three states: either it is answered, or a
- 48:24calamity is averted by it, or it is saved for the Hereafter.
- 48:27Okay, I have a trial, and I 'm not going to say that I want something, Dr.
- 48:31Hossam, or that I want God to give me a million dollars.
- 48:34No, I have a trial that has caused me pain, and I want it to be lifted.
- 48:38I pray to God, yet the trial is still not lifted from me.
- 48:41Then you come and cast doubt on my intention and tell me, 'No, the
- 48:44problem is n't with that;
- 48:45the problem is with your supplication, with your certainty. '
- 48:49So that 's also a point.
- 48:50I mean, this is the answer for anyone who says that supplication
- 48:53is n't answered right away.
- 48:54This is the same answer.
- 48:56Got a question?
- 48:57No, that 's enough.
- 48:58Well, who told you that the problem is with your supplication?
- 49:02That understanding itself, fundamentally, has an issue.
- 49:06We mentioned just a little while ago that the answer to a
- 49:09supplication might actually be found in its delay, or perhaps the
- 49:12answer to that supplication might be in something far greater.
- 49:15Something that I am simply not aware of yet.
- 49:17Moses and Aaron prayed to God Almighty against Pharaoh.
- 49:21God Almighty said, 'Your supplication has been answered, so
- 49:24remain on a right course.
- 49:25' Pharaoh perished years later.
- 49:27Abraham, peace be upon him, said: 'Our Lord, and send among them a
- 49:30messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and
- 49:33teach them the Book and wisdom.
- 49:35' How long after was it answered?
- 49:37Years.
- 49:38After hundreds of years.
- 49:39So why do I believe it must be now and immediately?
- 49:42That is the very issue we are raising.
- 49:44It 's not the idea that I did everything and my prayer was n't answered.
- 49:47So I have a problem.
- 49:48Who said you have a problem?
- 49:49I am praying to Allah, the Almighty.
- 49:52And whoever calls upon Allah, the Almighty, and relies solely on Him,
- 49:55does not question His divine will or His decrees.
- 49:58I have entrusted my affairs to Allah.
- 50:01Those who responded to Allah and the Messenger after injury had
- 50:03struck them.
- 50:04I have submitted to the Lord of the Worlds.
- 50:06In the era of Prophethood, there were the most pious people in the universe.
- 50:09I 'm sorry, I mean, we do n't even compare to them at all.
- 50:12Of course.
- 50:14They prayed to Allah, the Almighty, while the confederates surrounded
- 50:18them from every side.
- 50:19Medina lies between two lava fields and mountains.
- 50:22The Companions were in the middle, while the confederates attacked
- 50:26from the north.
- 50:27Arab tribes gathered there, and to the south were the Jews of Banu
- 50:31Qurayza.
- 50:32Huyayy ibn Akhtab approached them, telling the Jews, 'This is an
- 50:36opportunity that will not be repeated. '
- 50:39Muhammad and his companions will be destroyed in these hours.
- 50:42But you must break your covenant with him.
- 50:44We 'll circle around to your side, because in the north ...
- 50:47What 's there?
- 50:48In the north, there is a trench, and they ca n't enter the city.
- 50:52So the only opening is from which side?
- 50:55The south.
- 50:55If you break the covenant, we will circle around to your side.
- 50:58Islam will be finished.
- 50:59The Arab tribes are coming.
- 51:01What happened?
- 51:02Did the Companions say, 'Oh Lord, we prayed, but You did not answer us'?
- 51:05We have tried every form of supplication, yet we still find
- 51:09ourselves asking: where is the answer?
- 51:11'And when the believers saw the confederates, they said, This is
- 51:14what Allah and His Messenger had promised us, and Allah and His
- 51:18Messenger spoke the truth.
- 51:19And it increased them only in faith and acceptance. '
- 51:24They surrendered to the Lord of the Worlds.
- 51:25Yes, by God, because the victory of the religion was at stake, even
- 51:28though Islam was on the verge of ending.
- 51:31I mean, it was a done deal, to the point that when the Prophet, peace
- 51:35be upon him, learned that the Jews of Banu Qurayza had betrayed the
- 51:39covenant, he sat down;
- 51:40the matter was over.
- 51:41By worldly standards.
- 51:42The matter was truly over.
- 51:43Then he stood up and said, 'Allahu Akbar,' giving them the good news
- 51:47of victory.
- 51:47I believe this is a historical event that no one can deny, because
- 51:50it was an event that changed the world at that time.
- 51:53So it is a historical event, just like the events of Ramses,
- 51:56Alexander, and so on.
- 51:58Then he stood up and gave them the good news of victory.
- 52:00Rejoice, it 's over. Why?
- 52:02Because they submitted completely.
- 52:05What is this?
- 52:06And I prayed to God.
- 52:07They performed the night prayer.
- 52:09I mean, I do n't want to tell you what the prayers were like at that time.
- 52:12And yet, the Jews betrayed the covenant, and they came from the
- 52:15north when they had submitted completely.
- 52:17"O you who have believed, remember
- 52:19the favor of Allah upon you when
- 52:20armies came to you and We sent
- 52:22upon them a wind and armies [of
- 52:23angels] you did not see."
- 52:26When I submitted to God, I did not question His intentions.
- 52:28Oh Lord, I will enter the cave.
- 52:30I will sleep for three hundred years.
- 52:32What is it to you?
- 52:33This is the decree of the Lord of the Worlds.
- 52:36When the people entered, there were three young men, as sweet as honey,
- 52:39mashallah.
- 52:40They entered a mountain, but a rock fell, blocking the cave entrance.
- 52:44Each man prayed with his best deeds.
- 52:46One said, 'Lord, I was so dutiful to my parents that once, I brought
- 52:50them milk as usual.
- 52:51They had fallen asleep, so I stood there holding the bowl until
- 52:55morning, waiting to serve them. '
- 52:57And the second one abstained from adultery after the means for it had
- 53:00been made available to him.
- 53:02And the third one returned the worker 's wages, which had grown
- 53:04into treasures of wealth, so they were the most pious things in the
- 53:07world with every great supplication.
- 53:09The rock would move a little bit,
- 53:11For great supplications require great acts of faith.
- 53:14The point is also not that I prayed and was not answered.
- 53:17How would you know?
- 53:18This is the decree of the Lord of the Worlds.
- 53:20So when the Companions submitted, and when the young men in the Cave
- 53:24submitted, God sent down His mercies according to His wisdom
- 53:27whenever He willed.
- 53:29So what happened after that?
- 53:30The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, 'The matter is settled;
- 53:33now we will raid them, and they will not raid us. '
- 53:36It is impossible for them to come to Medina again, that 's it. Why?
- 53:39A strange destruction by soldiers that humans did not see.
- 53:42They descended and made the polytheists around the trench turn back.
- 53:46God sent a strange wind upon them.
- 53:47It overturned their pots, dismantled their tents, and sent
- 53:50them fleeing into the desert.
- 53:52Terror struck their hearts;
- 53:53they never even considered returning.
- 53:56The matter was over. Why?
- 53:57Because I submitted completely.
- 53:59For whoever submits to God does not question God 's will.
- 54:02But I prayed to You, Lord, and You did n't do such and such for me.
- 54:06This is the core point of the matter.
- 54:08We do n't pray to God as if He were an ATM.
- 54:10God is far exalted above that.
- 54:11We pray to Him because He is worthy of worship.
- 54:15The requirement of the relationship between the created and the Creator
- 54:18is that he worships Him.
- 54:19And why should I not worship Him who created me?
- 54:21Is n't it obvious that I should worship Him?
- 54:24I worship Him not so that He fulfills my requests or spits out
- 54:27what I want from the other side of the machine.
- 54:29No, I pray to Him because ...
- 54:31He is worthy of worship, because He is the Lord of the Worlds, because
- 54:34He tasked me with this, and because the centrality of the afterlife is
- 54:38the foundation for me.
- 54:39And because deep down, I know that I am accountable.
- 54:41You know that you are accountable, and that is why you are here today,
- 54:44sensing that there is an issue, because there is a sense of duty
- 54:47within you.
- 54:48Is this good or evil?
- 54:50The question of good and evil, because I am truly accountable, not
- 54:53just a product of nature.
- 54:54This is truly a divine mandate within me.
- 54:57So, this is a very important point, and it is something that we must
- 55:00also fully grasp.
- 55:01Now, your second question, which is also a very important one, is about
- 55:04the topic of polygamy and why a man can not just get married whenever
- 55:08he wants?
- 55:09Who told you in the first place that if a man looks at another
- 55:12woman, it is permissible for him?
- 55:16And exactly what does the act of getting married have to do with a
- 55:19corrupt relationship?
- 55:20You also have a bit of a logical fallacy here called a category
- 55:24error, which is essentially mixing up different levels of action.
- 55:28If a man enters into a marriage contract with a woman, promising to
- 55:31provide for her, give her psychological security, and protect
- 55:35her for life through that contract.
- 55:37What does that have to do with someone committing a wrong?
- 55:40There is no connection at all.
- 55:42Marriage is one thing, and corrupt relationships are different.
- 55:45That 's not it.
- 55:46Then what?
- 55:47No, I do n't mean corrupt relationships.
- 55:49I mean that God placed in both, in both sexes.
- 55:52You mean your husband should be polygamous, so why not have more wives?
- 55:55Is n't that right?
- 55:56I just mean to say that the natural inclination toward the other sex
- 56:00definitely exists.
- 56:01It exists in both men and women.
- 56:03Desires in general, or this specific desire in general, truly
- 56:07exists in both men and women.
- 56:09So, why did God create an outlet for the man, and yet, not for the woman?
- 56:15Women have marriage, and men have marriage.
- 56:17You mean why can a man have multiple wives, but a woman ca n't?
- 56:20Well, first of all, the basics of psychiatry — and we could explain
- 56:24this until tomorrow morning —
- 56:26The sexual drive, the sexual inclination, is as different as
- 56:30heaven and earth between a man and a woman.
- 56:33A man 's inclination toward women is tens of times greater than a
- 56:37woman 's inclination toward men.
- 56:40The issue of polygamy.
- 56:41Why did n't God allow polygamy for women?
- 56:43This is fundamentally a rational issue, not a religious one.
- 56:47Why is it a rational issue?
- 56:49The idea of a group of husbands revolving around a single female is
- 56:53a rational problem to begin with.
- 56:55When she gets pregnant, who is responsible for the expenses?
- 56:58Who has the right to cohabitation?
- 57:01And whose child would it be?
- 57:02We can say now, but that 's not the issue.
- 57:04Roles will eventually be swapped, and a problem will arise.
- 57:08Therefore, throughout history, whether in an atheist nation or a
- 57:11polytheistic nation, in a Christian nation,
- 57:13in a Muslim nation, or a Jewish nation, there has never been a
- 57:16scenario where this was considered a problem that needed a solution,
- 57:19so that we would permit women to have multiple husbands.
- 57:22It has never happened in human history that a society permitted a
- 57:25woman to have multiple husbands, except for what occurred in the
- 57:28Tibetan tribes at one point in time, because they had an economic
- 57:32problem at that time — an economic problem and land had decreased — so
- 57:35they had every group of brothers marry one woman for an economic
- 57:38reason that had a justification at the time.
- 57:41However, in human history, this is a rational problem before it is a
- 57:45religious one.
- 57:46This idea is negated for two reasons: role exchange, and the
- 57:50fact that men can not all revolve around one axis.
- 57:53Who would provide for her?
- 57:54Who would live with her?
- 57:55It 's a rational problem.
- 57:57Secondly, there 's a vast, fundamental difference between the
- 58:00sexual drives and inclinations of men and women.
- 58:03A woman 's nature, her innate disposition and instinct, is based
- 58:06on the permanence of a relationship with one man who ensures her
- 58:09psychological security and financial support with absolute
- 58:12clarity, and she understands this, accepts it, comprehends it, and
- 58:16lives by it according to her nature.
- 58:18God created her with this innate nature because, in the end, she
- 58:21will be the guardian of a home, nurturing children, raising a
- 58:24family in psychological security, loved by one man.
- 58:28So this is very understandable.
- 58:29Now, a question: why did God allow polygamy for men?
- 58:32By God, polygamy is a solution to a problem that, I swear, is
- 58:36impossible to solve in human history except through it.
- 58:40With absolute clarity, absolute frankness, and credibility.
- 58:44It is impossible for the problems of men and women to be solved
- 58:47except through polygamy or by committing immoral acts.
- 58:51And that is why throughout human history, no nation has ever
- 58:53completely closed the door on this matter.
- 58:56It 's impossible, whether Islamic or non-Islamic;
- 58:58either they allow me to marry one woman and I commit whatever immoral
- 59:02acts I wish.
- 59:03I mean, I 'm cohabiting.
- 59:04Once, Faisal Al-Qasim on Al Jazeera was telling a story about officers
- 59:08in France who entered the apartment of a young Algerian Muslim man and
- 59:13said, 'We found out you have two wives. '
- 59:16Come here, sir, this is forbidden in France;
- 59:18polygamy is prohibited.
- 59:19He told them, 'This one is actually my wife.
- 59:21' 'And what about this one, sir?
- 59:22' 'This one is my mistress. '
- 59:24'We are very sorry. '
- 59:25They said, 'Oh, really?
- 59:26' What 's the idea then?
- 59:28Because the nature of any society must open a space for this, due to
- 59:32the nature of men themselves, and the fact that by nature, a man
- 59:35travels and moves about.
- 59:37And God has ordained this with wisdom as well.
- 59:40I mean, God ordained this for a divine wisdom in the first place;
- 59:43because his desire is higher, it 's a test.
- 59:46But does this grant higher entitlement to anything?
- 59:49Who told you that polygamy is easy in Islam?
- 59:51God Almighty [ ordained it], and this is the first legislation in
- 59:54human history.
- 59:55So, one [ wife] is closer to avoiding injustice, if you 're
- 59:58afraid of messing things up.
- 1:00:00No, stick with just one.
- 1:00:01Pray to God to keep you steadfast through your struggles.
- 1:00:04Islam 's system is n't based on personal preference;
- 1:00:07it 's all about the numbers.
- 1:00:09It 's tough for a man to support a second household, covering all the
- 1:00:13expenses, time, and emotional needs, while ensuring the first household
- 1:00:17remains completely unaffected.
- 1:00:20Whoever can do that, go right ahead, sir.
- 1:00:21So this has its restrictions.
- 1:00:23That is why the Islamic world has the least polygamy.
- 1:00:26Yet, it is the most criticized for it;
- 1:00:28it is strange, by God. Why?
- 1:00:30Because all the media is focused on this area.
- 1:00:33They are masters in the media at mocking this.
- 1:00:35But the West, which engages in polygamy with dozens out of lust,
- 1:00:38doing whatever they want, and when she gets pregnant, he flies off.
- 1:00:42Live your life, just live your life.
- 1:00:44But no, in Islam, I am signing a contract for my own safety,
- 1:00:47financial support, and protection for life.
- 1:00:50Are you criticizing Islam for why it makes me marry with a guardian?
- 1:00:54Suppose the guardian is a failure.
- 1:00:56Well, in Islam, there is something called the 'just guardian.
- 1:01:00' A guardian who, as you said in your example, would harm me and
- 1:01:03prevent me from marrying someone respectable — because of this, in
- 1:01:07Islam, he is called an unjust guardian, and the guardianship
- 1:01:11transfers to someone else.
- 1:01:14But why is there a guardian in the first place?
- 1:01:16Because this guardian protects you from a suitor who might want to
- 1:01:20take away some of your rights by exploiting your emotions.
- 1:01:23I love him, I want to marry him, uncle.
- 1:01:25I do n't want a dowry.
- 1:01:26I do n't want this or that, I 'll give it up.
- 1:01:28So God ordained the guardian to ensure the woman gets her rights
- 1:01:31from her suitor, so that someone who is n't suitable, for example,
- 1:01:34does n't just sweet-talk her.
- 1:01:35So God ordained it in this matter to protect the woman and to
- 1:01:39restrict whom?
- 1:01:39The man, actually.
- 1:01:41So the guardian, fundamentally, by God, restricts the man and not the woman.
- 1:01:46You 're asking what I have to travel with?
- 1:01:49With a mahram ( chaperone).
- 1:01:50Are you criticizing Islam because it provided for you and forced one
- 1:01:55of your male relatives to leave his work and his interests to be a free
- 1:01:59personal bodyguard for you, to protect you from the dangers of the road?
- 1:02:04Is that a flaw in Islam?
- 1:02:06That is a real problem.
- 1:02:07The fact that someone is forced to be your personal bodyguard, just to
- 1:02:11protect you from the dangers of the road, even when you are in safe company.
- 1:02:15Fine, travel as you please.
- 1:02:16But the nature of the lands back then, and even in this era, some
- 1:02:20travels are not safe.
- 1:02:22It obligates someone from your home to look after you while you are
- 1:02:25traveling.
- 1:02:26Islam should be thanked, by God Almighty, it should be thanked.
- 1:02:29You said the hijab restricts me.
- 1:02:30And the sheikh says you are a jewel.
- 1:02:33Regardless of the examples some sheikhs use.
- 1:02:35The sheikh 's mistake, if he makes one, does not invalidate the
- 1:02:38argument itself.
- 1:02:39So, what does that argument really mean?
- 1:02:42It suggests that the hijab is a form of social security and,
- 1:02:45essentially, a matter of national security as well.
- 1:02:48Immodesty, by God Almighty, is a social problem and a national
- 1:02:52problem.
- 1:02:53Look at Britain in nineteen twenty and look at it in twenty twenty.
- 1:02:57Go online and look at the difference a year makes.
- 1:03:01Look at how many children were born out of wedlock here.
- 1:03:04Here, how many children were born out of wedlock?
- 1:03:07six percent in the year nineteen twenty.
- 1:03:09In twenty twenty, sixty percent of children were born out of wedlock.
- 1:03:14The issue started with immodesty.
- 1:03:16Immodesty has its impact when there are children born out of wedlock.
- 1:03:19What happened after that?
- 1:03:21Deliberate abortion.
- 1:03:22This is a child that is n't convenient for me and my boyfriend,
- 1:03:26so let 's abort it, let 's kill it.
- 1:03:28Today, more than forty million fetuses are killed annually.
- 1:03:32So, God ordained the hijab to drop people 's objectification of my body.
- 1:03:36No, it 's for my mind only;
- 1:03:38you should look at me for my mind, not for my body.
- 1:03:41So, God ordained the hijab, and by God, it is protection and national
- 1:03:45security.
- 1:03:45Do you have the right now to tell the Egyptian government, 'Why do
- 1:03:49you stop me from stealing? '
- 1:03:51I am economically self-sufficient, this is economic freedom, right?
- 1:03:54No, this is national security;
- 1:03:55I must stop you.
- 1:03:57So, God ordained the hijab for this reason.
- 1:03:59Compare and see the impact that has happened in Europe over the last
- 1:04:02few years.
- 1:04:03100 years.
- 1:04:03A vast difference, a difference that is obvious to anyone.
- 1:04:08So, just because the Sheikh gives an example you do n't like, that
- 1:04:11does n't invalidate the argument.
- 1:04:13A corrupt doctor — a corrupt doctor, mind you — told you that smoking is
- 1:04:17harmful.
- 1:04:17Does the fact that he is corrupt mean that smoking is n't harmful?
- 1:04:21There is a difference.
- 1:04:22So, the Sheikh gave a wrong example.
- 1:04:24That does n't mean his argument itself is flawed.
- 1:04:27Not at all.
- 1:04:28So you always have this reactive idea, you know, where most Arab
- 1:04:31atheism is just, 'Look, the Sheikh is doing this.
- 1:04:34' Look at such-and-such fatwa.
- 1:04:36What does that have to do with you?
- 1:04:39Does that create atheism?
- 1:04:40No, by God, it creates an inquiry.
- 1:04:42Yes, I inquire. I ask.
- 1:04:43Is there a stronger proof than this that will be presented to me?
- 1:04:47So do not judge religion by the mistakes of some of its followers
- 1:04:50or by the burdens or sins of those who oppose it.
- 1:04:53That is not, not, not logic at all, I mean.
- 1:04:55Okay, so regarding the point you raised about immodesty and its
- 1:04:58supposed effect on increasing the number of illegitimate births and
- 1:05:02things like that, well, it 's actually not necessarily the case.
- 1:05:05I 'm not talking about immodesty that is, you know, completely over
- 1:05:09the top.
- 1:05:10I 'm talking about it being normal;
- 1:05:12I mean, it 's just normal, maybe wearing a hijab but otherwise
- 1:05:15normal clothes.
- 1:05:16It 's not strictly necessary that I be covered from head to toe to be
- 1:05:20modest.
- 1:05:21Really, just my hands, palms, and face are what should be visible to
- 1:05:25protect me, and that feels right.
- 1:05:28And yet, we see that sometimes, even when we are modest and
- 1:05:32everything, they are still subjected to assaults, verbal
- 1:05:35assault, physical assault, and they could be very modest and everything.
- 1:05:41So, you are talking about extreme immodesty, which is something that
- 1:05:45no one in our society, at least, would accept anyway.
- 1:05:48And I 'm also talking about extreme repression, I mean, I 'm not saying
- 1:05:53that the niqab, or that the face and hands, or that the clothing
- 1:05:57must be very loose.
- 1:05:58You 'd be walking, I mean, I once wore a milhafa [ a type of loose,
- 1:06:03full-body covering], but I honestly kept tripping on the stairs, I
- 1:06:07swear to God, I mean, why?
- 1:06:08So that I can be 'good' [ proper/modest] like that?
- 1:06:12And yet, you will still find harassment, you will find
- 1:06:15catcalling, everything.
- 1:06:17So, what exactly is the solution here?
- 1:06:19By the way, I am personally against nudity and clothing that is, you
- 1:06:22know, just a bit over the top and all that.
- 1:06:25Of course, every society has something called a dress code.
- 1:06:29This means there is a certain limit in attire that no one should ever cross.
- 1:06:33The dress code, or the attire that God has ordained and established in
- 1:06:38Islam, is truly meant for you to adorn yourself.
- 1:06:41In essence, Islam shifts the focus of this adornment away from
- 1:06:45potentially unsafe public spaces and directs it toward safe, private
- 1:06:49environments.
- 1:06:52But in public spaces, even when adornment was left behind,
- 1:06:55harassment still occurred.
- 1:06:56Did God tell you that if you wear a hijab, harassment will decrease?
- 1:07:01However, God did give an indication of this, that in general, yes, if
- 1:07:05there is a proper hijab, harassment will decrease.
- 1:07:08Is this a reality?
- 1:07:09By God, without a doubt.
- 1:07:11Harassment in France today on public transport, according to
- 1:07:14France 24, is at 100 %.
- 1:07:15Harassment is definitely directly proportional to immodesty.
- 1:07:18No one denies this except for an Arab secularist, by the way;
- 1:07:22no one denies this rule except an Arab secularist.
- 1:07:24That 's a guy who is just being an Arab secularist on his own, telling
- 1:07:28you, 'No, it has nothing to do with it. '
- 1:07:31No, the relationship is fundamental and consistent.
- 1:07:34Countries with the highest rape rates are those with the least
- 1:07:38modesty and decency.
- 1:07:39The fact that you might wear modest clothing and this still happens
- 1:07:43from some people,
- 1:07:45This does n't negate the principle that this is the command of the
- 1:07:48Lord of the Worlds.
- 1:07:49Can God command me to do something that results in a trial?
- 1:07:51So what is the problem?
- 1:07:53The essence of religious obligation is 'we hear and we obey'.
- 1:07:56And even if an outcome appears that is n't what I wanted or is n't to
- 1:08:00my liking, we must understand God Almighty 's intentions in His
- 1:08:04wisdom and legislation.
- 1:08:05As for the point regarding 'why is it forbidden to show my hair' or
- 1:08:09'why is this or that forbidden', I hope you read about trichophilia,
- 1:08:13trichophilia.
- 1:08:15Any part outside of even the face and hands.
- 1:08:18If I find a part that I stare at with desire, I stare at them with desire.
- 1:08:22But any part outside of that actually affects a man.
- 1:08:26This is something like ABCs in the composition of human instinct.
- 1:08:29Something called trichophilia.
- 1:08:31Hair, yes, it affects a man, of course.
- 1:08:33Well, why are there actually men right here among us — I mean, not
- 1:08:36far away, and certainly not in open-minded countries or anything
- 1:08:40like that — who see that a man like that is someone who does n't
- 1:08:43control himself at all, or perhaps they just see it as completely normal?
- 1:08:47No, I see the hair of my female colleagues and I do n't move or get
- 1:08:51affected, of course, because if I were affected, I would be an
- 1:08:54abnormal man.
- 1:08:55Of course, whoever says that is, I 'm sorry to say, an Arab secularist.
- 1:08:59Any man in the entire universe, if he simply sits down with a woman,
- 1:09:02immediately releases endorphins inside him.
- 1:09:04This powerful happiness hormone is purely a matter of physics, not
- 1:09:08just some kind of mental speculation.
- 1:09:10It 's physics;
- 1:09:11I sat with a woman, especially in private, and the endorphin hormone
- 1:09:14is released inside me.
- 1:09:16I feel a temporary euphoria;
- 1:09:18this hormone is released every time we sit together.
- 1:09:21But after a while, my brain underwent habituation.
- 1:09:25So it adapted to this hormone.
- 1:09:26And I will need to increase the dose so that the hormone levels
- 1:09:30rise again.
- 1:09:31Just like addiction, I increase the dose, so I ask for something more.
- 1:09:35I get closer, and the more I get closer, the more the hormone is
- 1:09:38released.
- 1:09:39That 's the secret behind why God forbade being in private with the
- 1:09:43opposite sex.
- 1:09:44It 's a human composition, for those who deny it.
- 1:09:46He has an issue with physics, fundamentally so.
- 1:09:50It 's either physics or, well, a human being who is accountable.
- 1:09:54Unfortunately, this is the makeup of the human psyche;
- 1:09:57if a person sits with a woman in private, endorphins are released
- 1:10:01inside him.
- 1:10:02After a while, this hormone requires an increased dose.
- 1:10:05This dose makes them feel like they need to get closer or make more
- 1:10:09demands, until corrupt relationships occur.
- 1:10:12That is why, when God Almighty established the Islamic methodology,
- 1:10:16it was a methodology to regulate relationships.
- 1:10:20A methodology to reform the human being.
- 1:10:22A methodology to reform the human composition and the human psyche,
- 1:10:25even if it appears outwardly to be restrictive, and that, well, the
- 1:10:28man is restricted.
- 1:10:29You are also doing the same thing regarding creating suspicion within
- 1:10:32the feminist system.
- 1:10:33I do n't mean that you are a feminist, but the creation of
- 1:10:35suspicion within the feminist system.
- 1:10:38Why did God do this, why did He do that?
- 1:10:41If a man has this same composition, why did God impose Jihad on me, and
- 1:10:45prayer in the mosque, and so on and so forth?
- 1:10:48Why did God place within me an instinct towards women that is ten
- 1:10:51times what women have?
- 1:10:52No, men do n't actually say that.
- 1:10:53But some feminists have created this, the manufacturing of
- 1:10:56suspicion.
- 1:10:57I do n't know, the guardian and travel issues are actually
- 1:11:00arguments for us.
- 1:11:00Anyway, if you have any other questions, or if I forgot a
- 1:11:03question — I 'm not sure if you have another question or something.
- 1:11:07No, actually, I just have one more thing to mention before we get to
- 1:11:10the last point.
- 1:11:11You mentioned the supplication ( Dua) at the end, so we do n't
- 1:11:14forget it.
- 1:11:15I also pray, as the Prophet ( peace be upon him) said: 'If Allah loves
- 1:11:18a servant, He protects him from the world.
- 1:11:21' Should this be understood as entitlement?
- 1:11:23No, by God, this is the opposite of material entitlement.
- 1:11:26'If Allah loves a servant, He protects him from the world' — the
- 1:11:29people of well-being on the Day of Judgment will wish their skins had
- 1:11:33been cut with scissors when they see the reward of the people of
- 1:11:36affliction.
- 1:11:36So this should never be understood in a material framework.
- 1:11:39So this is the perspective or the standard of accountability that you
- 1:11:42feel inside you, that you are in a world of accountability.
- 1:11:46I ...
- 1:11:47I want to tell you something as well.
- 1:11:50I mean, honestly, the words we used might have touched on ... ...
- 1:11:53well, on certain things, I mean, really just on those specific
- 1:11:57points we discussed earlier.
- 1:11:59So I was affected by it.
- 1:12:03Yeah.
- 1:12:03May God bring peace to your heart.
- 1:12:05Tell me, what were you affected by, then?
- 1:12:07May God protect your heart, oh Lord, and guide you, oh Lord.
- 1:12:10Oh Lord.
- 1:12:17May God cast guidance into your heart by His mercy.
- 1:12:20There is no power or strength for us except in God Almighty.
- 1:12:23There is no god but God.
- 1:12:24She was affected in secret, then.
- 1:12:27Six.
- 1:12:28She is crying, simply because there is accountability within us all, by God.
- 1:12:33Because we are, by God, accountable.
- 1:12:35If we were merely children of nature, we would n't grasp evidence,
- 1:12:39logic, or the meaning of an argument at all.
- 1:12:41May God keep us and her steadfast, and guide us both, oh Lord.
- 1:12:49Go ahead.
- 1:12:52I really just want to bring this up and say it out loud, because it
- 1:12:54happens to be one of the lingering doubts that has been on my mind lately.
- 1:12:58If you have questions, go ahead.
- 1:12:59May God protect us both.
- 1:13:00The prophets were truly meant to be, I mean, they really are the
- 1:13:03ultimate role models for all of us to follow.
- 1:13:06And you know, regarding the prophets, every single one of their
- 1:13:09prayers, I mean, absolutely anything they ever prayed for, they
- 1:13:12would eventually see it come to pass.
- 1:13:14For example, they had tangible, material things that indicated to
- 1:13:18them that there was victory, for instance, or that even if it was
- 1:13:22n't present right now.
- 1:13:24But, as you mentioned, the Prophet, peace be upon him, told them what?
- 1:13:28He gave them glad tidings of victory at a time when there was
- 1:13:31actually nothing, but he knew and was certain of the victory.
- 1:13:37Well, they certainly saw these things for themselves, but we have
- 1:13:40n't actually seen them.
- 1:13:41Actually, I do know the answer now, but this was one of the questions I
- 1:13:44had n't asked, so perhaps someone else really wanted to ask it.
- 1:13:47I mean, think about it: they witnessed direct signs from God
- 1:13:50that gave them absolute certainty, but for us, living in this day and
- 1:13:53age, we might not have seen anything like that.
- 1:13:56Honestly, I do n't really have an issue with that uncertainty anymore,
- 1:13:59but I just brought it up because I felt like someone out there might
- 1:14:02really need to hear that answer.
- 1:14:04And the last thing I wanted to touch on is the validity of Islam,
- 1:14:07because, I mean, when you look at the big picture, there are also
- 1:14:10about four thousand other religions out there to consider.
- 1:14:14Why should I accept that Islam is the correct religion, even though
- 1:14:18all 4,000 religions believe that they are the ones who are right?
- 1:14:23So why Islam?
- 1:14:24How can I be sure that Islam is the correct religion?
- 1:14:28Well, first of all, may God guide us and you, and set us all on the
- 1:14:31right path, Amen.
- 1:14:32The prophets called upon God Almighty, and their prayers were
- 1:14:35answered, and they witnessed it.
- 1:14:37It is not exactly like that, as we have said.
- 1:14:39Abraham, peace be upon him, called upon his Lord, and his prayer was
- 1:14:43answered hundreds of years later, and there are countless proofs for this.
- 1:14:47However, God has mentioned this very dilemma that you have brought up.
- 1:14:51At the end of Surah Al-Muddaththir, God Almighty says: 'But every one
- 1:14:55of them desires to be given scriptures spread out. '
- 1:14:59Everyone wants to say, 'Oh Lord, give me proofs just like the ones
- 1:15:02the Prophet receives.
- 1:15:03' The story is really not like that. 'No!
- 1:15:05But they do not fear the Hereafter. '
- 1:15:08He, in fact, denies the Hereafter, so the denial of the Hereafter made
- 1:15:11him need this argument, because every human being, as we mentioned
- 1:15:15in the example I read, every human being has had the message-based
- 1:15:18proof established against them;
- 1:15:20it is not a condition that I receive spread-out scriptures.
- 1:15:23No, every human being has received the message-based proof.
- 1:15:27'Nay, We have brought them the truth, and indeed they are liars.
- 1:15:30So that is Allah, your Lord, the Truth.
- 1:15:33And what can be after the truth except error?
- 1:15:36So how are you averted?
- 1:15:37' Where will you go?
- 1:15:39I mean, I left Islam.
- 1:15:41Where will I go?
- 1:15:42So where are you going?
- 1:15:44Where are we even going to go?
- 1:15:45We are going to Him, my friend.
- 1:15:47'For indeed, they do not call you untruthful, but it is the verses of
- 1:15:51Allah that the wrongdoers reject.
- 1:15:53Indeed, those who dispute concerning the verses of Allah
- 1:15:56without any authority having come to them - there is not within their
- 1:15:59breasts except pride.
- 1:16:00' So there is evidence, but the lens of pride distorts any evidence.
- 1:16:05That is why our Lord, the Almighty, mentioned the group that asks for
- 1:16:09proof in the form of spread-out scrolls, saying that in reality,
- 1:16:13'Nay, they do not believe in the Hereafter.
- 1:16:15' He does n't believe in the Hereafter to begin with, so his
- 1:16:19problem is actually a priori;
- 1:16:20he is denying it from the start.
- 1:16:22So the issue is not a lack of evidence, but a pre-existing
- 1:16:26refusal.
- 1:16:27And this is also a problem with contemporary atheism;
- 1:16:30they come to you to deny you, not to follow the truth once it becomes clear.
- 1:16:35Alright, your question is: Why Islam?
- 1:16:37And where is this evidence that would make every person submit to
- 1:16:42it, be certain of it, and acknowledge it if it appeared
- 1:16:45before them?
- 1:16:46First of all, Islam is not just one religion among many.
- 1:16:51Islam is not just one religion among 4,000 religions.
- 1:16:55Islam is the only monotheistic religion on the face of the earth.
- 1:16:59All religions on earth fall into 4 categories.
- 1:17:03All religions are either material atheism.
- 1:17:06That this universe is the creator.
- 1:17:09It is the maker.
- 1:17:10It is the provider.
- 1:17:12And this, of course, contradicts the A-B-C basics of reason
- 1:17:16regarding causality, precision, and creation.
- 1:17:18It 's a story we could discuss until morning, as we touched on
- 1:17:21earlier.
- 1:17:22In a world like this, we would n't even comprehend consciousness,
- 1:17:25logic, ethics, values, free will, or anything at all.
- 1:17:29These are random views.
- 1:17:30So it is either material atheism or spiritual atheism, like that of
- 1:17:34East Asia, and Ahmed Emara, Amir El-Maghraby, and Somaya El-Nasser,
- 1:17:38which is the law of entitlement.
- 1:17:39I deserve the universe, it overflowed from the Lord without
- 1:17:43divine guardianship.
- 1:17:44This is actually devil-worshipping atheism that makes me switch roles.
- 1:17:48I have become — God forbid — the one who subjects God, so my desires
- 1:17:53are fulfilled here and now.
- 1:17:54So this is the spiritual atheism of East Asia, and the polytheism has
- 1:17:58become earthly.
- 1:17:59One person worships a human god, another worships a god that is an
- 1:18:03idol, and another worships a god that is the people, like the people
- 1:18:06you know.
- 1:18:06The entity that may God protect us from its evil.
- 1:18:09So these are earthly polytheisms.
- 1:18:11Thus, the religions of the earth have become based on material
- 1:18:14atheism, spiritual atheism, and earthly polytheism.
- 1:18:17And nothing remains of the monotheism that all the prophets
- 1:18:20called for.
- 1:18:21Except for Islam alone.
- 1:18:24The rest of the religions are polytheism, ideas, and corrupt things.
- 1:18:27That is why when the Lord of the Worlds sent His Prophet, may God
- 1:18:30bless him and grant him peace, it was n't just that Muhammad bin
- 1:18:32Abdullah, may God bless him and grant him peace, suddenly appeared
- 1:18:35and said, 'Hey brothers, I am a prophet. '
- 1:18:37No, by God, the whole world was waiting for him, because this was
- 1:18:42the step or the dividing line between isolated tribes and the
- 1:18:46first moment in the framework of secularism, where the world became
- 1:18:50connected through its communications, relationships, and
- 1:18:54the easy transmission of messages.
- 1:18:56So his message is for all people.
- 1:18:59A transition from the stage of tribes to the stage of global
- 1:19:03societal communication.
- 1:19:05So when he came, all of humanity was waiting.
- 1:19:08The whole world was waiting for this message.
- 1:19:11We are not saying this lightly.
- 1:19:13No, by God, this is supported by countless pieces of evidence.
- 1:19:16I mean, you have a Hadith that is agreed upon as authentic.
- 1:19:19Whoever denies it has a problem with history itself.
- 1:19:22I mean, whoever denies this text has a problem with the meaning of
- 1:19:26history.
- 1:19:27Heraclius was in the Levant during the Medinan period and heard the
- 1:19:30story of what was happening in the Arabian Peninsula.
- 1:19:33What is this that you have?
- 1:19:34And this Heraclius was the Trump of that era, and much more, of course.
- 1:19:38He asked them about the story that was happening among them.
- 1:19:40They said, 'By God, there is a man claiming to be a prophet.
- 1:19:43' Bring me the closest one.
- 1:19:45And Heraclius was intelligent.
- 1:19:47Bring me the person closest to him and some members of his family.
- 1:19:51So it was Abu Sufyan.
- 1:19:52And at that time, he was still a disbeliever.
- 1:19:55Still a disbeliever.
- 1:19:56He had n't converted to Islam yet.
- 1:19:58And some family members came so that if Abu Sufyan lied, the people
- 1:20:01with him would call him out on it.
- 1:20:04He asked him, 'Do you accuse him of lying? '
- 1:20:06Abu Sufyan said to him, 'No.
- 1:20:07' Does he betray?
- 1:20:08No, he does n't betray.
- 1:20:09What is the story between you?
- 1:20:11He said,' A war of turns;
- 1:20:13we win, and he wins.
- 1:20:14' Well, are his followers weak or strong?
- 1:20:17No, they are weak.
- 1:20:18Well, was Abu Sufyan looking for power?
- 1:20:21I mean, honestly, no.
- 1:20:23So Heraclius said,' I already knew he would emerge, but I did not
- 1:20:27think he would rule under these two feet of mine.
- 1:20:30' He is going to take the land of the Levant.
- 1:20:34Abu Sufyan said to his family after the meeting ended, 'The matter of
- 1:20:38the son of Abu Kabsha has become serious, to the point that he no
- 1:20:42longer fears the kingdom of the Byzantines. '
- 1:20:45This turned out to be a big deal.
- 1:20:46And this was actually one of the reasons for Abu Sufyan 's
- 1:20:49conversion to Islam.
- 1:20:50So how did Heraclius know he would emerge?
- 1:20:52We 'll get to that in a bit.
- 1:20:54Salman the Persian is a man;
- 1:20:56if we deny his existence, there 's a problem with history itself.
- 1:21:00He was the keeper of the fire in the land of the Magi.
- 1:21:03A master of the fire worshippers, that is.
- 1:21:06Once, he passed by a church and was impressed by their religion, so he
- 1:21:10moved to the Levant, the cradle of revelations.
- 1:21:13He was a man who was searching for the truth with sincerity.
- 1:21:17I wish this Salman could be an example for every atheist, I swear.
- 1:21:21He moved between fourteen monks, searching for the truth among them,
- 1:21:26until he came to the monk of Ammoria.
- 1:21:30And he was in his final days, so he said,' O Salman, a time is
- 1:21:33overshadowing you for a prophet sent with the religion of Abraham,
- 1:21:37based on true monotheism, who will emerge in the land of the Arabs, in
- 1:21:41a land between two lava fields where palm trees abound.
- 1:21:44' So where would Salman the Persian go?
- 1:21:46He searched for a land between two lava fields with palm trees, the
- 1:21:50land of the Arabs,
- 1:21:52and he found that it applied to Yathrib, the city of Medina, so he
- 1:21:57went to the Prophet, peace be upon him, and told the Prophet, peace be
- 1:22:02upon him, what had happened, so he, peace be upon him, gathered the
- 1:22:06Muhajirun and the Ansar.
- 1:22:09Listen to what this man is saying.
- 1:22:11Well, how exactly did the monk of Ammoria know that this was the
- 1:22:15place of the Prophet and the time of the Prophet?
- 1:22:18How did Heraclius know?
- 1:22:19And what really made the Jews come to the land of Yathrib long before
- 1:22:24the Prophet, peace be upon him, even arrived there?
- 1:22:28Banu Qaynuqa, Banu Qurayza, Banu Nadir, and Khaybar settled in
- 1:22:31Yathrib.
- 1:22:32Why specifically Medina?
- 1:22:33What made the people of Medina the first people to convert to Islam.
- 1:22:38The people of Medina were the first to convert to Islam.
- 1:22:40They answered that one of the things that drew us to Islam was
- 1:22:44that the Jews used to say, 'This is the time of a prophet who will
- 1:22:47appear, and we will fight alongside you with him,'
- 1:22:51even if they got into a war with the people of Medina.
- 1:22:54' O Allah, we seek victory through the coming Prophet.
- 1:22:57' And they used to seek victory before against those who
- 1:22:59disbelieved, but when there came to them that which they recognized,
- 1:23:03they disbelieved in it.
- 1:23:04They were waiting for him to come from their own lineage;
- 1:23:07when he came from others, they were shocked and disbelieved in him.
- 1:23:12Okay, the fundamental question is this: today we have the books of
- 1:23:15the People of the Book, we have their scriptures.
- 1:23:17Is it explicitly written in their scriptures that he will come at
- 1:23:20this time, in the land of the Arabs, and that his kingdom will be
- 1:23:24established in Medina?
- 1:23:25By God, yes, it is one of the most amazing things.
- 1:23:28We found a book called the Apocalypse of Abraham, the
- 1:23:31Apocalypse of Abraham.
- 1:23:32A book that, by the consensus of historians, dates back to before
- 1:23:35Islam, by the consensus of historians.
- 1:23:37Abraham, peace be upon him, prayed to his Lord, 'Our Lord, and send
- 1:23:41among them a messenger from themselves, who will recite to them
- 1:23:44Your verses and teach them. '
- 1:23:47So God Almighty told Abraham this in this book, which by consensus
- 1:23:52dates back to before Islam — it 's not something we made up.
- 1:23:57The Lord says to Abraham that the Prophet of the End Times will come
- 1:24:00from your descendants, O Abraham.
- 1:24:03When, O Lord?
- 1:24:04Twelve centuries after the destruction of the Temple.
- 1:24:09The Temple was destroyed by the consensus of historians.
- 1:24:12In five eighty six BC, by consensus , at the hands of Nebuchadnezzar.
- 1:24:18And the Prophet, peace be upon him, was born, by consensus, in 570 AD.
- 1:24:25Exactly twelve centuries later, from the descendants of Abraham,
- 1:24:28peace be upon him.
- 1:24:30Today, we also discovered something called the Assumption of Moses.
- 1:24:34A book written hundreds of years before Islam, by consensus.
- 1:24:38In this sacred book, God Almighty explicitly declares to Moses that
- 1:24:42the Prophet of the end times shall arise from among the Gentiles,
- 1:24:45known as the Ummiyyin.
- 1:24:46He is the one who, in His divine plan, raised up a messenger from
- 1:24:50within their own ranks, specifically to guide them and to
- 1:24:53utterly destroy their idols.
- 1:24:56Destroy their idols, he will destroy the idols.
- 1:24:58So, in a pagan environment.
- 1:25:01And he will come after you are buried, or after you die, Moses, by
- 1:25:071,750 years.
- 1:25:08We discover that exactly 1,750 years after the death of Moses, the
- 1:25:13mission of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, began.
- 1:25:17All the People of the Book across the earth believe in the sacred
- 1:25:21text known as the Book of the Prophet Isaiah.
- 1:25:23In this ancient book, we turn our attention to chapter forty-two.
- 1:25:28Our Lord informs us with extreme clarity.
- 1:25:31Behold my servant,
- 1:25:33Behold, look upon my servant whom I am sending.
- 1:25:36God will send a prophet in the end times.
- 1:25:39Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom my soul
- 1:25:44delights;
- 1:25:44I have put my Spirit upon him;
- 1:25:46he will bring forth justice to the nations.
- 1:25:49Not just for his own nation, but for all people.
- 1:25:53We said a prophet sent specifically to his own people, and sent
- 1:25:57generally to all people, So the prophet will come for all people.
- 1:26:02Where, O Lord?
- 1:26:03In the same book, in the same chapter, he will come from the
- 1:26:07lineage of Kedar, and Kedar, by the consensus of historians,
- 1:26:13Quraysh, and indeed from him came the tribe of Quraysh.
- 1:26:16So the Prophet will come to the unlettered, from among the
- 1:26:19unlettered, for all of humanity, right there in the sacred land of
- 1:26:23Quraysh.
- 1:26:25And he will go to the land of Sela.
- 1:26:27Sela, by consensus, is an area in Medina where the Battle of the
- 1:26:31Trench took place.
- 1:26:32So the Prophet is in Mecca, Medina, and the land of the Arabs, and from
- 1:26:37the lineage of Abraham;
- 1:26:38his message is for all people, and his time is known.
- 1:26:42People were waiting for him.
- 1:26:44The world was waiting for him, peace be upon him.
- 1:26:48When this Prophet arrived, he came, by God, with countless proofs, both
- 1:26:52rational and historical.
- 1:26:53When he finally came, and as the lady says, regarding the weakness,
- 1:26:57the harm, and the many trials he faced.
- 1:26:59The Companions suffered so many times over this.
- 1:27:03They found that during this same period of weakness, the Persians,
- 1:27:07who were fire-worshippers, defeated the Romans.
- 1:27:10And the Romans at that time had remnants of a scripture, they had
- 1:27:13divine revelation too, but just remnants of a scripture, you know.
- 1:27:18When they were defeated, it was devastating.
- 1:27:20We were oppressed here, and the Romans were oppressed in the Levant.
- 1:27:25The Persians swept through, even seizing the True Cross — the Romans'
- 1:27:30holiest relic — which left them utterly humiliated.
- 1:27:34So God informed the Prophet, and as confirmed by the consensus of
- 1:27:37historians, this battle took place in the year 613 AD.
- 1:27:40This is the widely accepted date of the Battle of Antioch, which
- 1:27:44occurred in the Jordan Valley, famously known as the lowest point
- 1:27:47on Earth below sea level.
- 1:27:51God informed [ us]: 'Alif Lam Mim.
- 1:27:53The Romans have been defeated.
- 1:27:55In the lowest land, but after their defeat, they will be victorious.
- 1:28:00' Is it possible, Lord?
- 1:28:02Yes, it will be in just a few years , specifically from three to nine.
- 1:28:06To God belongs the command before and after.
- 1:28:09And on that day, the believers will rejoice in the victory of God.
- 1:28:13They will be victorious.
- 1:28:14And the believers at that time will also have a victory.
- 1:28:17An amazing matter.
- 1:28:19Calculate, sir, six hundred thirteen plus nine, how much?
- 1:28:22Six hundred twenty-two.
- 1:28:25You and I are looking at history with a neutral perspective.
- 1:28:28Let 's go on Google.
- 1:28:29The greatest event in the history of the Earth, Ms. Iman.
- 1:28:32The year 622 AD.
- 1:28:33It tells you that 2 events happened in this year.
- 1:28:36The migration of a prophet named Muhammad, peace be upon him, who
- 1:28:40would change history shortly after.
- 1:28:42The entire earth changed after this event.
- 1:28:45The event of the migration and the beginning of Heraclius 's victories
- 1:28:49over the Persians.
- 1:28:50His first victories were in six twenty two AD.
- 1:28:52He finally started to recover, to the point that historians ...
- 1:28:56He said, how could this be?
- 1:28:57The Persians had swept through the Romans, so how many years would it
- 1:29:00take for them to reappear?
- 1:29:02A remarkable revival occurred for Heraclius, while the Persians
- 1:29:06relapsed into pleasures and thus perished.
- 1:29:08So God foretold this, that after a few years, the Romans would be
- 1:29:12victorious over the Persians.
- 1:29:14And on that day, the believers will rejoice in the victory of God.
- 1:29:18At this time, there will also be a victory for the believing group.
- 1:29:22From the moment Surah Al-Qamar was revealed.
- 1:29:24The companions were being tortured in the desert on the sand with
- 1:29:27stones placed on top of them.
- 1:29:29God says to them, 'The multitude will be defeated and turn their backs.
- 1:29:33' A battle will occur between you and those torturing you.
- 1:29:36Is it possible, O Lord, that a battle will happen?
- 1:29:39Prophet Muhammad only had a few dozen companions around him.
- 1:29:41Are we going to defeat the masters of Quraish?
- 1:29:43Yes, 'The multitude will be defeated and turn their backs [ in
- 1:29:46retreat]. '
- 1:29:47It actually happened;
- 1:29:48nine years later, the Muslims were victorious in the Battle of Badr.
- 1:29:52Then news reached them that the Romans had also defeated the
- 1:29:55Persians;
- 1:29:56on that day, the believers would rejoice in the victory of God.
- 1:30:00Those who believe in God 's victory.
- 1:30:02For whoever looks at this, by God, it is not from any human being.
- 1:30:06The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, left Mecca as a fighter,
- 1:30:11migrating to Medina.
- 1:30:13Our Lord said to him: 'Indeed, He who ordained the Quran for you will
- 1:30:16surely bring you back to a place of return. '
- 1:30:18A place of return, by the consensus of linguists, is one 's birthplace.
- 1:30:21You will return to Mecca, do not fear.
- 1:30:23You will surely enter the Sacred Mosque, God willing, in safety.
- 1:30:27He also ordained a near victory.
- 1:30:29After the conquest of Mecca, another victory follows: the
- 1:30:32conquest of Khaybar, which happened immediately after.
- 1:30:37Verses and texts.
- 1:30:38And the Prophet, peace be upon him, came supported, as Ibn Hajar said,
- 1:30:42by three thousand miracles, some of which are mutawatir ( widely
- 1:30:45transmitted).
- 1:30:46He perfected the Sharia and was supported by the Lord of the Worlds.
- 1:30:50A book was revealed to him, the first book for the Arabs, the Holy
- 1:30:54Quran, with its guidance, its conquests, the support of God
- 1:30:57Almighty through it, and the countless miracles within it.
- 1:31:01It is impossible to ever enslave someone who used to herd sheep for
- 1:31:05a few carats for the people of Mecca.
- 1:31:07Logically, by God, logically.
- 1:31:08Someone might tell you, 'Well, the Prophet Muhammad learned the news
- 1:31:12from the Children of Israel.
- 1:31:14' What does that have to do with the glad tidings?
- 1:31:18A thousand glad tidings were fulfilled in him, may God bless him
- 1:31:20and grant him peace.
- 1:31:21He is the one who corrects, by God, what the People of the Book do not have.
- 1:31:25We have something called the Ezra problem.
- 1:31:28Ezra is a man, a very great reformer who lived after the
- 1:31:31Babylonian captivity.
- 1:31:32He is leaving Babylon to go all the way to Jerusalem to restore
- 1:31:35monotheism to the land of Jerusalem after ...
- 1:31:38After Nebuchadnezzar had completely ruined everything.
- 1:31:41So, he is now heading back to the land of Jerusalem to begin his
- 1:31:45important work.
- 1:31:47He found the village completely desolate.
- 1:31:49Monotheism had ended, idolatry had spread, and everything was in ruins.
- 1:31:53He said, 'How will God bring this back to life after its death?
- 1:31:56' When will monotheism and victory return?
- 1:31:59The People of the Book have this story.
- 1:32:01We are looking at the story of Ezra 's long journey from Babylon to the
- 1:32:06land of Jerusalem.
- 1:32:07But there is a significant problem that the People of the Book say
- 1:32:11they have no solution for to this very day.
- 1:32:14Ezra moved, and then Nehemiah moved thirteen years later.
- 1:32:17Ezra enters Jerusalem in the generation of Nehemiah 's
- 1:32:21grandchildren.
- 1:32:21Meaning, by that time, Ezra is already gone.
- 1:32:25Nehemiah came thirteen years later.
- 1:32:27Ezra suddenly disappeared.
- 1:32:29No one knows where he disappeared to.
- 1:32:30There is a problem here.
- 1:32:32Then he appeared in the generation of Nehemiah 's grandchildren.
- 1:32:35Nehemiah was during the time of a high priest named Eliashib.
- 1:32:38Ezra appeared during the time of Eliashib 's grandson, Jehohanan.
- 1:32:42So the People of the Book tell you this is a historical problem for
- 1:32:46which we know no solution.
- 1:32:47Where was Ezra?
- 1:32:48And suddenly he appeared after three generations.
- 1:32:51The Quran solves this without you even noticing.
- 1:32:54Or like the one who passed by a village which had fallen into ruin.
- 1:32:57He said, 'How will Allah bring this to life after its death?
- 1:33:00' So Allah caused him to die for a hundred years, then He resurrected him.
- 1:33:03Three whole generations, and he was indeed missing.
- 1:33:06So the Quran solves problems.
- 1:33:08Indeed, this Quran narrates to the Children of Israel most of that
- 1:33:11over which they differ.
- 1:33:13Problems, I have read, by God, dozens that are solved in the Book
- 1:33:17of God.
- 1:33:17They say that Solomon, peace be upon him, worshipped idols in his
- 1:33:21final days.
- 1:33:21The Quran tells you, 'And Solomon did not disbelieve. '
- 1:33:25They tell you that our Lord rested on the seventh day.
- 1:33:28The Book of Exodus, and 'no weariness touched Us.
- 1:33:30' There is no such thing as our Lord resting.
- 1:33:32They tell you that Christ on the cross said to our Lady Mary, peace
- 1:33:36be upon her, 'What have I to do with you, woman? '
- 1:33:39Even the commentators tell you they do n't know why he said this.
- 1:33:42The Quran tells you.
- 1:33:43And dutiful to my mother.
- 1:33:45He did not say that, peace and blessings be upon him.
- 1:33:47Dozens of problems.
- 1:33:48The Quran solves them for you.
- 1:33:49They tell you Moses took his hand and pulled it out leprous.
- 1:33:53The Quran tells you, 'white, without disease.
- 1:33:55' You know Ibrahim Eissa, the well-known atheist from the Takween Center.
- 1:33:59He brought another atheist from Syria named Firas Al-Sawah.
- 1:34:02Do you know him?
- 1:34:03This Firas Al-Sawah is a hardcore atheist.
- 1:34:04He brought him to spread atheism.
- 1:34:06He 's tricking us.
- 1:34:07Yes, I swear to God, he said something that made me say, 'Oh God,
- 1:34:10the greatness of this religion.
- 1:34:12' Firas Al-Sawah, the atheist, said it is impossible for Muhammad bin
- 1:34:15Abdullah to have come from the environment of Mecca with the
- 1:34:18Quranic story and the news of the prophets.
- 1:34:20It 's impossible for it to have been in a pagan environment.
- 1:34:24He must have been a Christian in the land of the Levant.
- 1:34:27What is your proof?
- 1:34:27He said frankly, ' I have no evidence.
- 1:34:29' But it 's impossible for this Quran to have been in a Meccan
- 1:34:32environment.
- 1:34:33The news, the stories, and the prophets, my son, are there because
- 1:34:35he is a prophet.
- 1:34:36He did n't consider the other option, that he is a prophet.
- 1:34:39So he told you it 's impossible to understand it unless he was in the
- 1:34:42Levant and grew up in a Christian environment.
- 1:34:44He told you he was a dissident Christian.
- 1:34:46So Ibrahim Issa, the criminal, wanted to spread doubt among the
- 1:34:49Muslim nation.
- 1:34:50So God set Firas Al-Sawah upon him, whose words, I swear ...
- 1:34:53Oh, the peace of mind I have.
- 1:34:55An atheist man told you, 'If Muhammad was in the Meccan
- 1:34:58environment, then he must be a prophet. '
- 1:35:00Because how could someone in a pagan environment, where there were
- 1:35:03no Jews or anyone else,
- 1:35:05and even the Christians were just one or two who converted to
- 1:35:08Christianity at the end of their days, and the Bible was not
- 1:35:11translated into Arabic until the fourth century AH,
- 1:35:15so how did he know all these details?
- 1:35:17He must be a prophet or born in the land of the Levant.
- 1:35:20That is Firas Al-Sawah, the atheist.
- 1:35:22So, indeed, whoever reads his biography, may God bless him and
- 1:35:25grant him peace, and the Quranic narrative, and possesses some
- 1:35:28knowledge, would say, 'No, by God, this is a prophet, of course.
- 1:35:30' And those who disbelieve say, 'You are not a messenger.
- 1:35:33' Say, 'Sufficient is Allah as Witness between me and you, and
- 1:35:36whoever has knowledge of the Scripture. '
- 1:35:39And they said, 'Why does he not bring us a sign from his Lord?
- 1:35:41' Has there not come to them clear evidence of what was in the former
- 1:35:44scriptures?
- 1:35:45By God, one of his greatest miracles is that it is the
- 1:35:48fulfillment of the glad tidings.
- 1:35:49That he corrects the errors they have.
- 1:35:52That countless miracles were performed at his hands.
- 1:35:55That he was supported by the Lord of the Worlds until he completed
- 1:35:58the Sharia.
- 1:35:59That everyone who followed his guidance and path was guided and
- 1:36:01became righteous.
- 1:36:03It is the only monotheistic religion.
- 1:36:05Today, Ms.
- 1:36:06Iman, what do we have on earth other than some paganisms,
- 1:36:09polytheistic religions, and people who believe that a universe that is
- 1:36:13not self-sufficient is self-sufficient, which is
- 1:36:16contradictory to the A-B-C of rational intuition?
- 1:36:19So the texts, verses, miracles, and reports, by God, are countless and
- 1:36:23can not be contained by hours or days.
- 1:36:26Ibn Hajar tells you there are three thousand miracles;
- 1:36:29if we were to mention some of them, by God, they are things that would
- 1:36:32make your hair turn gray.
- 1:36:34They can not possibly be from a human being because it is divine
- 1:36:37revelation.
- 1:36:38I once told an atheist, I said to him, it is a miracle that the
- 1:36:41Prophet Muhammad says that we emerged from the coccyx, a tiny
- 1:36:44point like this at the bottom of the tailbone, inside the tailbone,
- 1:36:47that is.
- 1:36:48Today, we discover that the embryo in the third week originates from
- 1:36:51something called the primitive streak.
- 1:36:53This primitive streak then diminishes and goes to the coccyx
- 1:36:56region, which is the tailbone.
- 1:37:00The guy went and came back, and found that the statement is
- 1:37:03scientifically and medically A-B-C in science and medicine;
- 1:37:06he found no way to deny this miracle except with another miracle.
- 1:37:10He told you, 'It 's a mental possibility that perhaps someone
- 1:37:13built a time machine, went to Prophet Muhammad, and gave him this miracle.
- 1:37:16' By God, you have reassured my heart, by God, you have reassured
- 1:37:19my heart.
- 1:37:20You will not refute a miracle except by breaking the laws of nature,
- 1:37:24so you did n't solve the problem, you just created a bigger one.
- 1:37:27He entered into a cheap science fiction movie, 'he built a time machine'.
- 1:37:30Why?
- 1:37:30Because in the face of these clear proofs, he can only be a prophet or a god.
- 1:37:35By God, whoever denies him will end up deifying him.
- 1:37:37Whoever denies that this person ...
- 1:37:39by God, they will either tell you it 's a time machine, or [ admit]
- 1:37:43he is a Prophet from God, peace be upon him, supported by glad tidings
- 1:37:47and miracles, who perfected the Sharia, the religion of pure
- 1:37:50monotheism.
- 1:37:52So the proofs are countless.
- 1:37:54But one just needs to reflect.
- 1:37:56One needs to contemplate.
- 1:37:58Say,' I only advise you of one thing: that you stand for Allah, in
- 1:38:02pairs and individually, and then reflect: there is no madness in
- 1:38:06your companion.
- 1:38:07' The polytheists were forced to say that he was what?
- 1:38:11Possessed or a magician.
- 1:38:13Why did they say that?
- 1:38:14Because they could not comprehend attributing all of this to anything
- 1:38:17other than a supernatural occurrence.
- 1:38:19Either magic or he is possessed.
- 1:38:20He 's imagining things.
- 1:38:22Madness is impossible.
- 1:38:23How do you resolve the prophecies?
- 1:38:24Prophecies, miracles, and divine support do n't fit.
- 1:38:28Okay, what about a magician?
- 1:38:30Thank you.
- 1:38:30It 's the same story as our friend with the time machine, or others
- 1:38:33who said, or Firas Al-Sawah who ...
- 1:38:35We must apologize.
- 1:38:36They 're moving him to the Levant to resolve the issue in this
- 1:38:40Quranic story.
- 1:38:41They will have to move him, peace be upon him, in order to resolve it.
- 1:38:45This shows that the other side, by God, has run out of arguments.
- 1:38:48And everyone who has contemplated his situation, peace be upon him,
- 1:38:51knows that he could only be a prophet.
- 1:38:53Let me conclude with one thing.
- 1:38:55And this hadith, by God, is amazing, narrated by Amr ibn Abasah, a noble
- 1:39:00companion.
- 1:39:00He said, 'During the pre-Islamic era, I used to think that people
- 1:39:05were misguided, atheists, idolaters, people who were lost, meaning they
- 1:39:09were not on the truth, and they were worshipping idols.
- 1:39:13' So I heard of a man in Mecca telling news.
- 1:39:15Someone claiming to be a prophet.
- 1:39:19So I mounted my camel and traveled until I reached him.
- 1:39:22So I saw the Prophet, peace be upon him, in hiding, as his people were
- 1:39:26against him.
- 1:39:26Was he praying, or not, Ms. Iman?
- 1:39:28He was praying, by God, that he would be victorious.
- 1:39:32And yet, for 13 years, he was in hiding, with his people against him.
- 1:39:36So I approached gently until I entered to see him.
- 1:39:39I said, 'What are you?
- 1:39:40' He said,' I am a Prophet. '
- 1:39:42I said, 'What is a Prophet? '
- 1:39:43He said, 'God has sent me. '
- 1:39:45I said, 'With what has He sent you?
- 1:39:47' He said, 'To uphold ties of kinship and to break the idols. '
- 1:39:51And that God should be worshipped alone, with nothing associated with Him.
- 1:39:55' Well, this is the innate nature.
- 1:39:56This is an innate nature already within me.
- 1:39:58I said, 'Then I will follow you in this.
- 1:40:00I am with you, by the way. '
- 1:40:02He, peace be upon him, said, 'You will not be able to do that this
- 1:40:05day of yours.
- 1:40:06Do you not see my condition and the condition of the people? '
- 1:40:09But return to your land.
- 1:40:11Now this is certainty.
- 1:40:13So when you see that I have prevailed, come to me.
- 1:40:16With certainty.
- 1:40:17I will certainly prevail.
- 1:40:19So Amr ibn Abasah returned to his land.
- 1:40:22And he kept asking for news until he learned that he had gone to the
- 1:40:26promised land that all of humanity was waiting for: Medina.
- 1:40:31So he came to some people and said to them, 'What is the situation of
- 1:40:34the man who has come to you?
- 1:40:35' He was afraid to tell them 'the Prophet' so they would n't be
- 1:40:38suspicious of him.
- 1:40:39They said to him, 'What man? '
- 1:40:40People are rushing to him.
- 1:40:42He is a great Prophet.
- 1:40:43And the whole world is finally converting to Islam.
- 1:40:45God empowered him, peace be upon him, and completed the Sharia.
- 1:40:49He was told that all opposition would be defeated, their gathering
- 1:40:53routed, and they would retreat.
- 1:40:54It 's over;
- 1:40:55the matter is settled.
- 1:40:56You 're telling the man who once feared saying 'the Prophet' — my
- 1:41:00friend, it 's over, the religion is complete.
- 1:41:03He, peace be upon him, did not pass away until God honored him with the
- 1:41:07victory of his religion, established his call, and his
- 1:41:09companions conquered the Levant.
- 1:41:11Heraclius, when he said to you — what did Heraclius say?
- 1:41:14He said to you, 'He will possess what is under these two feet of mine.
- 1:41:18' How did Heraclius know?
- 1:41:19By God, in his book, in Daniel chapter seven, it says that he,
- 1:41:23peace be upon him, after three hundred and fifty lunar years —
- 1:41:26meaning three hundred and something and thirty solar years — his
- 1:41:30companions would come and possess the land of Jerusalem.
- 1:41:36Constantine appeared around the year 300 AD.
- 1:41:39He was born around then.
- 1:41:40The Muslims conquered the land of the Levant.
- 1:41:42It was around the year 637 AD.
- 1:41:45This date marks exactly 350 lunar years after the birth of
- 1:41:49Constantine the Great.
- 1:41:53So Heraclius knew that the companions, the followers of this
- 1:41:56Prophet, would possess the land he was standing on.
- 1:41:58They knew that with certainty.
- 1:42:00And they were waiting for him, peace be upon him.
- 1:42:03The signs, miracles, glad tidings, and reports are, by God, countless.
- 1:42:07He, peace be upon him, was truthful.
- 1:42:10Supported, and it was never reported of him that he lied even once.
- 1:42:15He was the Truthful, the Trustworthy, peace be upon him.
- 1:42:18So all of this makes the heart, by God, realize there is no one else anyway.
- 1:42:21So where are you going?
- 1:42:22Where will you go, then?
- 1:42:23Which religion on earth will you turn to?
- 1:42:26So, the matter really is as simple as it can possibly be.
- 1:42:29Will you choose to turn to nature, or perhaps to spiritual atheism, or
- 1:42:33maybe to material atheism?
- 1:42:35Or will you turn to people who worship human gods and earthly gods?
- 1:42:39So, by God, Ms.
- 1:42:40Iman, if you want more evidence, if you want more discussion, I am with
- 1:42:43you on anything, by God.
- 1:42:44Do you have another question?
- 1:42:45May God improve us and you, O Lord.
- 1:42:47And I truly hope, I really hope that people focus on these topics
- 1:42:51and have advocacy projects, because in this day and age, we are truly
- 1:42:54facing challenges, and many people are being led astray due to a lack
- 1:42:58of Islamic knowledge.
- 1:43:00So if you have a question, if you need more evidence, I am truly with
- 1:43:03you, and may God improve us and you, O Lord.
- 1:43:05May God reward you with good, Dr.
- 1:43:07Haitham.
- 1:43:07I mean, I 'll just say, glory be to the One who taught you, because the
- 1:43:11topic really needed to be presented in a different way, to be responded
- 1:43:15to in a different way, not just with memorized texts that are
- 1:43:19repeated all the time and that 's it.
- 1:43:21I mean, honestly, most of us just hear the same things, exactly as I
- 1:43:24told you;
- 1:43:25it 's always the same videos, the same repetitive responses from the sheikhs.
- 1:43:28They really do n't seem to care about conveying the idea to you
- 1:43:31with tangible evidence right in front of you, or with history, or
- 1:43:34anything like that.
- 1:43:36I 'm not belittling their role at all, but it 's just the idea that I
- 1:43:40want — someone who reaches this stage wants more detail, they want
- 1:43:44more evidence.
- 1:43:45So, may God reward you with good.
- 1:43:48Honestly, I did n't believe that I would come out of this conversation
- 1:43:51with a different result than the one I came in with.
- 1:43:54So, I thank you very much.
- 1:43:55May God reward you with all goodness.
- 1:43:57We 're so grateful.
- 1:43:58May God bless you and spare you any pain.
- 1:44:00Thank you.
- 1:44:01May God keep you steadfast and purify your heart.
- 1:44:03Tell me, honestly, is your heart at ease now?
- 1:44:05By God, praise be to God.
- 1:44:06We 'll pray, God willing.
- 1:44:08For sure.
- 1:44:08Back to supplication.
- 1:44:09Sure, God.
- 1:44:10And we call upon God Almighty, knowing with certainty that
- 1:44:13everything He has decreed contains goodness,
- 1:44:16And that a person sometimes ...
- 1:44:18And man prays for evil as he prays for good,
- 1:44:21Man is ever hasty.
- 1:44:22Abraham, peace be upon him, had his prayer answered after twelve
- 1:44:26centuries, as this was the threshold for humanity 's
- 1:44:29transition toward secularism, the great conquests, and the global
- 1:44:33communication that followed.
- 1:44:36May God keep us and you steadfast, and may He bless you.
- 1:44:39Does anyone here with us in the session have a question, an inquiry,
- 1:44:43or something to say?
- 1:44:44Let 's hear it.
- 1:44:45Is there anything?
- 1:44:48Alright, may God bless you, ma'am.
- 1:44:49I truly want to thank you for everything.
- 1:44:51We thank you, Doctor.
- 1:44:52May God ...
- 1:44:53May God always bless you.
- 1:44:54May your knowledge help others.
- 1:44:56Amen, and you as well. Ma'am.
- 1:44:57May God bless you.
- 1:44:58Very much.
- 1:44:59And I just want to say something, by God, everyone in this day and
- 1:45:02age, with these challenges, needs ...
- 1:45:04The lady came to me with questions, and by God, there were just so many,
- 1:45:08many questions.
- 1:45:09We need everyone to have a Dawah project.
- 1:45:11It could be video editing;
- 1:45:13I cut and publish, and by God, that is a call to God.
- 1:45:16Or learning another language to preach with.
- 1:45:19Or focusing on a specific frontier to call people to God Almighty.
- 1:45:24We are in the best time for Dawah.
- 1:45:26It is a massive opportunity;
- 1:45:28thousands are becoming atheists over doubts they do n't even
- 1:45:31understand.
- 1:45:32In a material world, what does a 'doubt' really mean?
- 1:45:35Thousands are turning away over questions they have n't grasped, or
- 1:45:39because of the world 's current infantile state.
- 1:45:42We must quickly catch up with Dawah projects and constructive ideas.
- 1:45:47Today, the atheist Ibrahim Eissa has a massive project to move
- 1:45:50people toward doubt and disbelief.
- 1:45:52The Takween center for apostates.
- 1:45:54Bassem Youssef has a massive project called 'Mojtama' ( Society)
- 1:45:57to move people.
- 1:45:57Amir Al-Maghrabi.
- 1:45:59All of this work, we also need counter-projects;
- 1:46:01we should create a podcast.
- 1:46:03I swear, my wish is for someone with significant financial backing
- 1:46:06to create a counter-podcast;
- 1:46:08they raise a doubt, and we make an episode responding to it.
- 1:46:12But the disaster right now is that there are thousands of doubts and
- 1:46:15very few people responding.
- 1:46:17By God, the Ummah is sinning because of this.
- 1:46:19We need financially strong projects to stand up, fight, and reveal the truth.
- 1:46:24Because as the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 'Indeed, Allah
- 1:46:28admits three people into Paradise for a single arrow: the one who
- 1:46:31makes it, the one who shoots it, and the one who supplies it.
- 1:46:35' It 's not just the one speaking;
- 1:46:37those behind the camera, as long as they purify their intention for the
- 1:46:41sake of Allah, and not for prestige or anything else.
- 1:46:44For the sake of Allah Almighty.
- 1:46:46So God opens up paths of guidance and projects, because nothing
- 1:46:49remains on this earth but this religion.
- 1:46:52The whole world has been distorted by secularism.
- 1:46:54The last line of defense against moral and value decay, absurdity,
- 1:46:58and nihilism is this religion.
- 1:47:00So this is our opportunity to have actual, sincere projects.
- 1:47:05And by God, the solution for people is not in long speeches;
- 1:47:07the solution is for them to also have a project of spiritual
- 1:47:10purification.
- 1:47:11I pray at night, even if it 's just one rak'ah.
- 1:47:13I contemplate the Book of Allah, even if it 's just one page.
- 1:47:16O you who wraps himself [ in clothing], arise [ to pray] the
- 1:47:19night, except for a little, and recite the Qur'an with measured
- 1:47:22recitation.
- 1:47:23Why, O Lord?
- 1:47:24Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word.
- 1:47:26Doubts, temptations, and desires.
- 1:47:28So what is the remedy for it?
- 1:47:29Pray at night, even one rak'ah, whispering to the Lord of the Worlds.
- 1:47:33You made a vital point in that meeting.
- 1:47:35May God keep you steadfast, protect you, and bless you, O Lord.
- 1:47:37You said,' O Haitham, your prayer was answered when you were ... ' No.
- 1:47:41Who said that in the first place?
- 1:47:43The blessing was with me for years, but I realized this was best.
- 1:47:47I turned to the prayer of the distressed.
- 1:47:49Actually, I thank God this happened.
- 1:47:51I pray, trusting that God 's decree is what 's best.
- 1:47:55This intimate conversation with God is my remedy.
- 1:47:59And recite the Qur'an, for it is the book of my Lord, the book of my Lord.
- 1:48:03It is, by God, the healing;
- 1:48:04it is the tranquility.
- 1:48:06Even if it 's just one page that I contemplate every day.
- 1:48:08So this is the cure, by God.
- 1:48:10May God improve us all.
- 1:48:12May God reward you for managing this conversation.
- 1:48:15May He keep you steadfast and protect you, Eman.
- 1:48:17May God improve us all.
- 1:48:19If you have any questions or doubts, please check out the book 'Basa'ir'
- 1:48:23( Insights).
- 1:48:26Was n't there someone who wanted to debate you?
- 1:48:28Yup
- 1:48:28And he ran away.
- 1:48:29You said,' I 'll moderate the debate,' and once he knew you were
- 1:48:32moderating, what did he say to you?
- 1:48:33He asked for it.
- 1:48:35He asked first, and as soon as he found out, Mr.
- 1:48:37Amr agreed.
- 1:48:38I was joking.
- 1:48:39No, he 's tiresome.
- 1:48:40Yes, by God.
- 1:48:41They ran away, it seems.
- 1:48:43Yes, by God.
- 1:48:43From this position of mine, I say to you, you are so tiresome.
- 1:48:47Yes, from this position of mine.
- 1:48:50The female, well, what can I even say?
- 1:48:52Honestly, by God.
- 1:48:53He 's tiresome.
- 1:48:54She proved a hundred times braver.
- 1:48:56Glory be to God, He changes things without count.
- 1:48:58And he hid in his panic room because he knew.
- 1:49:01He shows off his muscles, but behind the scenes, he 's nowhere to
- 1:49:05be seen.
- 1:49:05Mockery.
- 1:49:06Desperate, he just rambled.
- 1:49:08But in reality.
- 1:49:09By God, but poof.
- 1:49:10Poof, it 's over.
- 1:49:11Poof, he 's just not there.
- 1:49:12Yes, I swear to God.
- 1:49:13So anyone who has questions, has an inquiry, or is searching for the
- 1:49:17truth fairly.
- 1:49:18In my book 'Basa'ir,' I 've collected my most famous objections.
- 1:49:22By God 's grace, it contains a thousand proofs for Islam 's truth,
- 1:49:26available for free in the video description.
- 1:49:28If you have doubts or know an atheist, share it with them.
- 1:49:32He who guides to good is like the one who does it.
- 1:49:36Yeah, they are ignorant.
- 1:49:37I pray.
- 1:49:37Yeah, by God.
- 1:49:38May God guide them, I swear.
- 1:49:39We view them as ignorant, not scholars.
- 1:49:42They are living in a reactive mindset, our teacher.
- 1:49:44How can I make people laugh?
- 1:49:45How can I mock?
- 1:49:47My son, your doubt and mockery prove you have a moral sense.
- 1:49:50You are not just 'matter ' or a child of nature;
- 1:49:53such beings would n't even grasp the concept of moral obligation.
- 1:49:56So, they are 'reactive atheism'.
- 1:49:58How can we make fun of him?
- 1:49:59How can we make fun of such-and-such Sheikh?
- 1:50:01How we take a clip and ...
- 1:50:02this is reactive atheism.
- 1:50:03This is reactive, not cognitive.
- 1:50:05The cognitive has vanished from the world entirely, along with
- 1:50:08existential questioning and bewilderment.
- 1:50:10So, the remedy for these people, by God, is to search for the truth
- 1:50:14with fairness and avoid following the mercenaries.
- 1:50:17May God improve us all, teacher.
- 1:50:19Bless you, Eman, I swear.
- 1:50:20And may He bless everyone attending today.
- 1:50:23They are wonderful, mashallah.
- 1:50:25May God make it easy.
- 1:50:26And honestly, whoever has faith starts to have certainty fall into
- 1:50:28their heart quickly, I swear.
- 1:50:30They pronounce the Shahada and maintain their prayers and
- 1:50:33remembrance of God.
- 1:50:35Because as soon as certainty falls into their heart, Satan struggles
- 1:50:38against them.
- 1:50:38Satan does n't sit still.
- 1:50:40He tries to keep you busy.
- 1:50:41He gives you temptations.
- 1:50:42The important thing is to keep you busy until you fall back in.
- 1:50:46Because humans were created this way, tested between doubt, desire,
- 1:50:49interest, duty, whims, and conscience.
- 1:50:52That is human life, actually.
- 1:50:53The drama of human life is just that, that I am living this
- 1:50:56struggle.
- 1:50:57So as soon as the truth becomes clear to me, I hasten to commit to
- 1:51:00it and ground myself in it.
- 1:51:02Look for a Dawah project, do n't give to an apostate looking for a
- 1:51:05shekel of views.
- 1:51:06Because that 's how I help him spread disbelief and misguidance,
- 1:51:10because people are lost.
- 1:51:12People are lost, our teacher, I swear.
- 1:51:13May God bless you, honor you, and bless you, Eman.
- 1:51:16Do you have any final concluding remarks for us, our teacher?
- 1:51:19May God bless you for your time today.
- 1:51:21May God reward you with all goodness.
- 1:51:23Can I recite the Shahada again with you?
- 1:51:25God bless you.
- 1:51:26To speed things up.
- 1:51:28May God bless you, Lord.
- 1:51:29I bear witness that there is no god but God, and I bear witness that
- 1:51:33Muhammad is the Messenger of God.
- 1:51:34Peace and blessings be upon him.
- 1:51:35Be steadfast
- 1:51:36Bless you.
- 1:51:37Blessings.
- 1:51:38May God bless you, Lord.
- 1:51:39Good luck.
- 1:51:39May He keep us steadfast, Lord. Amen.
- 1:51:41Thank you.
- 1:51:42Peace be upon you, and the mercy and blessings of God.
