- 0:00Good day, dear Ukrainian community and
- 0:02the community of Chervone village.
- 0:06First of all, I would like to introduce
- 0:08myself.
- 0:09I am a serviceman named Vasyl, serving
- 0:12in the Kharkiv direction.
- 0:16And for me, as a soldier, as a simple
- 0:18citizen of this village and a citizen of
- 0:21Ukraine, one important issue hurts me,
- 0:24which I found out about by pure chance
- 0:26recently: the city council's intention
- 0:29to put this plot of land that you see up
- 0:32for auction for lease rights to local
- 0:34oligarchs.
- 0:37It hurts that today, in a time of war,
- 0:40in a time of bloody war, when many
- 0:43people, soldiers, and civilians are
- 0:46dying, such brazen and complicated
- 0:49things are being done here.
- 0:53Things are happening, decisions are
- 0:55being made without the community,
- 0:58without society, and without the
- 1:00servicemen, military personnel, and
- 1:03veterans who truly deserve more respect
- 1:06and should have more say in resolving
- 1:08such delicate matters than our local
- 1:11authorities, who,
- 1:14in my opinion—and I think the majority
- 1:17would agree with me—do not consult and
- 1:20do not perceive the people as people at
- 1:23all, but simply as ordinary, well, I
- 1:25will allow myself to say it, as cattle,
- 1:28unfortunately, as cattle.
- 1:31And it should not be this way. And that
- 1:33is why I cannot remain silent about such
- 1:35brazen things.
- 1:37I wanted to speak out; thanks to the
- 1:40zoochivnet portal, I can convey my
- 1:42opinion and my truth to you, dear
- 1:45citizens of our state of Ukraine and
- 1:47residents of our settlement in general.
- 1:51The issue concerns this plot of land, as
- 1:54I said above. Our opinion is shared. It
- 1:56is not just me personally who is
- 1:59outraged; people on this street, Lvivska
- 2:02Street in Chervone village, are outraged
- 2:06regarding the granting of this plot for
- 2:09auction for lease rights.
- 2:12I think it will not stop there, and in
- 2:14the future, it will be the right to
- 2:17purchase it into ownership.
- 2:20My opinion and the opinion of the
- 2:22majority of people—we are, by the way,
- 2:24preparing a formal appeal to the city
- 2:26council, a petition to resolve this
- 2:28issue in favor of the community.
- 2:32It would be better to create a public
- 2:34space here, because as our people say,
- 2:37this plot of land in the center of the
- 2:40settlement on Lvivska Street is called
- 2:43the "distillery" by the locals.
- 2:47I would call it more culturally and more
- 2:49promisingly a public space for us, for
- 2:52citizens, for people, for our future
- 2:54generation, and even for military
- 2:56veterans.
- 2:58Because creating something here, for
- 3:01example, a park named after someone, or
- 3:04anything at all, or as a last resort, if
- 3:07you would be so kind—and I think the
- 3:10majority of people would support this—
- 3:13then distribute it to servicemen and
- 3:16veterans in small plots.
- 3:20Let our military know and see respect
- 3:23and dedication from the authorities and
- 3:27from citizens, because the people who
- 3:30risked their lives deserve these land
- 3:34plots and everything else more than
- 3:37those oligarchs.
- 3:40Because, well, it cannot go on like this
- 3:42anymore, you understand; it has been so
- 3:45long, the war has been going on for more
- 3:47than five years, so many people have
- 3:49already died, so much blood has been
- 3:51shed, so many service members have given
- 3:53their lives for our country, Ukraine.
- 3:56And today, in such a time, in a time of
- 3:58war—think about this, ladies and
- 4:00gentlemen—it’s not after the war, not
- 4:02before the war, it’s during the war,
- 4:04when some people are dying and others
- 4:05are profiting.
- 4:08I am not against people earning money,
- 4:10but it has to be honest, it has to be
- 4:12fair, and it has to be done, to some
- 4:14extent, with respect for the military.
- 4:17Because when they tell you one thing
- 4:21today and show you a staged picture of
- 4:25how they meet a service member who,
- 4:28unfortunately, died for Ukraine, or when
- 4:32they lay flowers on holidays and create
- 4:36a so-called image.
- 4:38In reality, they are just wolves in
- 4:40sheep's clothing, who show one thing but
- 4:42do something completely different.
- 4:45And here is a live example today of what
- 4:48is happening in the village of Chervone
- 4:51regarding this land plot.
- 4:54The conflict is not in the plot itself,
- 4:56but in this very situation, where they
- 4:59arrogantly ignore the people and the
- 5:02community, without consulting anyone or
- 5:05asking for our opinion; they simply
- 5:07decided at a session because that’s what
- 5:10they want.
- 5:12Well, it won't be like that, friends. It
- 5:14won't be like that, friends, because
- 5:17that is not why we are standing there
- 5:19and fighting today. Not just me—I think
- 5:22the majority will support me because
- 5:23everyone has someone.
- 5:25If not a brother, then a husband. If not
- 5:27a husband, then perhaps a daughter.
- 5:29Perhaps someone has a grandson or
- 5:30great-grandson fighting. Unfortunately,
- 5:33maybe someone has already lost a loved
- 5:34one.
- 5:35We must simply unite and say our "no" in
- 5:39this case, because this is just painful
- 5:42.
- 5:43It personally hurts me as a service
- 5:46member and as a citizen.
- 5:49Not even as a service member, but just
- 5:51as a citizen of this community where I
- 5:53grew up and lived.
- 5:55Well, where I live. Though, for these
- 5:57reasons, I am rarely in our village now
- 6:00. And, by the way, I grew up on this
- 6:03very plot. This was truly a public space
- 6:05. There was a football field here; we
- 6:07played basketball and football here.
- 6:11I think many people watching this video
- 6:13will agree with me that we really lived
- 6:16here.
- 6:17And this plot of land has been here for
- 6:19so many years, nobody touched it.
- 6:22And then suddenly they wanted it,
- 6:24because they came up with something
- 6:26there without asking the people.
- 6:29I ask only one thing of you, dear
- 6:31citizens and residents, especially of
- 6:34our village of Chervony, please comment
- 6:36on all of this.
- 6:39Do not be indifferent.
- 6:41And I want the authorities, well, the
- 6:44so-called authorities—because it's
- 6:46impossible to call them anything else—
- 6:49to finally hear us, to know that the
- 6:51people still exist.
- 6:54And you, dear authorities, you are not
- 6:57some kind of high-ranking rulers, but
- 6:59servants of the people who must listen
- 7:01to the people who elected you,
- 7:02unfortunately.
- 7:05Something like that.
- 7:07I would also like to add that I have
- 7:10contacted many authorities, and most
- 7:13importantly, the city council, regarding
- 7:15, for example, allocating this land plot
- 7:19to military personnel.
- 7:21So, there was a kind of conversation,
- 7:23and that's it.
- 7:25And from this conversation, I found out
- 7:28and can tell you for sure that a
- 7:30decision was indeed made to put this
- 7:32plot up for auction for lease rights,
- 7:35because that was clearly stated to me.
- 7:39I also reached out to the local
- 7:41authorities, that is, our village elder
- 7:43.
- 7:44Unfortunately, I was not heard.
- 7:47Unfortunately, as always, I think most
- 7:49of our fellow villagers know how our
- 7:51local government works here in the
- 7:53village.
- 7:55I will tell you more, because this hurts
- 7:57me.
- 7:59I thought for a long time whether to say
- 8:00this on air and to the general public,
- 8:02but I think I will say it anyway.
- 8:05Maybe I will pay for these words, but I
- 8:08will say it nonetheless: when, you know
- 8:10, because it hurts, when you just see
- 8:13death in their eyes, and when you
- 8:15approach a person today who we consider
- 8:17to be the authority in the village, and
- 8:20you talk to them about this problem,
- 8:22about this issue, and you hear no answer
- 8:25, nothing, no response at all.
- 8:29Only, you know, with sarcasm, I would
- 8:32say, with such, um, superiority and with
- 8:36such, you know, some kind of—I don't
- 8:39even know, I can't find the right words
- 8:43to avoid not expressing myself in our
- 8:46proper literary Ukrainian.
- 8:49I will restrain myself, because we are
- 8:52Ukrainians, and we should, um, restrain
- 8:55ourselves.
- 8:56And when they tell you to your face what
- 8:59kind of soldier you are, and we know
- 9:01what kind of soldier you are, and when
- 9:04you, well, not out of kindness, but you
- 9:07understand that you have to protect,
- 9:09unfortunately, people like them, well,
- 9:11it’s hurtful, to be honest.
- 9:15And when people who haven’t seen war and
- 9:18won't see it—neither they nor their
- 9:20relatives—tell you this, well, it’s a
- 9:23bit...well, you need to think a little
- 9:25about what we’re saying and what we are
- 9:28even talking about, and how we are
- 9:30supposed to live on, because the war,
- 9:33sooner or later, will end after all.
- 9:37And the question is this: are these
- 9:39lives being lost in vain?
- 9:42And are the human losses of these
- 9:45military personnel not in vain—the ones
- 9:48who, I repeat, are being brought, among
- 9:51other places, to our Zolochiv community
- 9:54.
- 9:55They are met as if with honors, but,
- 9:57unfortunately, as I said, these are
- 10:00wolves in sheep's clothing.
- 10:03And I will repeat once again, I am not
- 10:06against people working for the good of
- 10:09the Motherland, but it should be done
- 10:11reasonably, not with such underhanded
- 10:14things and such secret agreements.
- 10:18As if whoever has more money is the
- 10:20master of the world, and whoever is
- 10:22without money or has a bit less, say,
- 10:24power, then they should be treated like
- 10:26the lowest of the low.
- 10:28And this includes, by the way, military
- 10:30personnel.
- 10:31And this concerns not only our community
- 10:33now, but the state of Ukraine as a whole
- 10:35, because, for some reason, they are
- 10:37treating the military like the lowest of
- 10:39people.
- 10:41But these people are the ones who truly
- 10:44deserve respect, kindness, and a good
- 10:47word, regardless of whether it’s a
- 10:50soldier serving in Zolochiv, in Lviv, in
- 10:53Western Ukraine, in Eastern Ukraine, or
- 10:57if they are on the front line itself—in
- 11:00a trench—or if it’s a soldier serving,
- 11:03say, in the Kharkiv or Donetsk or any
- 11:06other direction,
- 11:09but perhaps a little further behind the
- 11:11lines.
- 11:13Well, everyone does their job and
- 11:15everyone must fulfill it.
- 11:17We, well, I hope we are fulfilling our
- 11:21duty conscientiously—the task that has
- 11:24been placed upon us before the state of
- 11:28Ukraine and before you, as citizens of
- 11:32Ukraine, whom we protect and will
- 11:35continue to protect, no matter the cost
- 11:38to us.
- 11:40But all the same, I would like to repeat
- 11:43, we deserve at least some elementary
- 11:46respect.
- 11:48And I will say once more: esteemed
- 11:51Zolochiv council, esteemed authorities,
- 11:55esteemed village elder, remember one
- 11:58single thing.
- 12:01You are servants of the people, and you
- 12:04must, first and foremost, respect the
- 12:06choice of the people.
- 12:09If the people said no, that means you
- 12:11have to listen to us and step aside,
- 12:14because, well, the source of power is
- 12:16still the people, just as the
- 12:18constitution says, I didn't make that up
- 12:20. Well, for those in power, I think for
- 12:24our local authorities in this settlement
- 12:28, well, it's time to go, time to head to
- 12:32the political trash heap. That's all.
- 12:35Well, that is my subjective opinion. You
- 12:38comment. Uh, state your opinion, maybe
- 12:40they have done something better for
- 12:42someone. Well, I rarely come to the
- 12:45village, but I just see it, and I just
- 12:48want to express what is really weighing
- 12:51on me, because, well, there's no
- 12:53strength left to endure it. That's all.
- 12:58Thank you all sincerely for your
- 12:59attention, and may God protect you and
- 13:02take care of yourselves.
- 13:04Thank you. Yeah.
