- 0:00Hi everyone! My name is Mia,
- 0:02and today I’d like to tell you about my university.
- 0:06I am a second-year business administration student.
- 0:10The campus is quite large,
- 0:13but I now know most of the main buildings
- 0:16and classrooms.
- 0:19The university is located
- 0:21outside the busiest part of the city.
- 0:24There are several bus stops near the main entrance,
- 0:28and most students travel there by bus or train.
- 0:32Some students live in apartments nearby,
- 0:35while others stay in student housing.
- 0:38I live with my family
- 0:40and usually take a bus to campus.
- 0:43The journey takes about forty minutes
- 0:45when the roads are not crowded.
- 0:49There are six main buildings on campus.
- 0:52My classes are usually held in the business building,
- 0:55which is a modern five-story building
- 0:58near the front gate.
- 1:00It has lecture halls, smaller classrooms,
- 1:04computer rooms, and offices for the teachers.
- 1:08Each floor has a different color sign,
- 1:11which makes it easier for new students
- 1:13to find the correct room.
- 1:15Most lecture halls
- 1:17are larger than the classrooms I had in high school.
- 1:20Some of them can hold more than one hundred students.
- 1:24They have rows of seats, large screens,
- 1:28microphones, and projectors.
- 1:31During lectures, I usually sit somewhere in the middle.
- 1:35I can see the screen clearly,
- 1:37and I do not feel as nervous
- 1:39as I would in the front row.
- 1:42My weekly schedule is different each day.
- 1:45On Monday,
- 1:46I have classes in marketing and business communication.
- 1:50Tuesday is usually my busiest day
- 1:53because I have three classes,
- 1:55including accounting.
- 1:57On Wednesday morning, I study economics,
- 2:00and I often have group work in the afternoon.
- 2:04My Thursday classes begin later,
- 2:06so I sometimes arrive early and study in the library.
- 2:11I do not have classes every Friday,
- 2:13but I may go to campus for meetings or assignments.
- 2:18Accounting is the most difficult subject for me
- 2:21because small mistakes can change the final answer.
- 2:25I prefer business communication,
- 2:27where we practice writing emails,
- 2:29preparing reports, and giving presentations.
- 2:34Many university assignments are completed in groups.
- 2:38At the beginning, group projects were a little confusing
- 2:42because everyone had a different schedule.
- 2:45My group normally creates an online chat,
- 2:48divides the work, and chooses a meeting time.
- 2:52We often meet in a study room at the library.
- 2:56These rooms have tables, chairs,
- 2:58whiteboards, and screens for presentations.
- 3:03The university library is one of the largest buildings
- 3:06on campus.
- 3:08The first floor has a help desk,
- 3:10computers, and an area where students can talk quietly.
- 3:15The upper floors are quieter
- 3:17and have long rows of desks.
- 3:20There are books about business, science, history,
- 3:24technology, languages, and many other subjects.
- 3:28I usually use online materials,
- 3:31but I sometimes borrow a book
- 3:33when I need detailed information
- 3:34for an assignment.
- 3:37There is also a cafeteria beside the library.
- 3:40It becomes very busy around noon.
- 3:43It serves rice dishes, pasta, sandwiches,
- 3:47soup, salads,
- 3:49fruit, coffee, and cold drinks.
- 3:53I often bring lunch from home
- 3:55because the line can be long.
- 3:57When I buy food,
- 3:59I usually choose a sandwich or a simple pasta dish.
- 4:03My classmates and I eat together
- 4:05when our schedules match.
- 4:08Near the center of the campus,
- 4:09there is a large open area with trees,
- 4:12benches, and walking paths.
