- 0:00There are dads who raised you, dads who
- 0:03vanished, dads who took you to your
- 0:04first game, but not mine. There are
- 0:07dads who stayed but never knew how to
- 0:09say I love you. There are dads who
- 0:11spoke little, but taught a lot. There
- 0:13are dads who made mistakes while trying
- 0:14to get it right. And there are dads who
- 0:16did what they could with what they had,
- 0:17in the time they had. A dad isn't
- 0:20forever, but what a dad does stays
- 0:23forever. And today I want to remind you
- 0:25of something no one ever says. No other
- 0:28man in this world will truly root for
- 0:30you to be better than him. None at all,
- 0:33because the world competes with you.
- 0:35Your dad doesn't. He is the only man
- 0:38who dreams of being surpassed by you,
- 0:40who plants a tree today knowing that
- 0:43you will be the one to enjoy its shade,
- 0:45who clears a path knowing that you are
- 0:47the one who will go further. And no one
- 0:50leaves fatherhood unscathed, neither
- 0:52the one who gives, nor the one who
- 0:53receives. Maybe your dad wasn't
- 0:56everything you needed. Maybe he stayed
- 0:59silent when you needed comfort. Maybe
- 1:01he made demands when you wanted a hug.
- 1:05But look back with the eyes of an adult
- 1:07and not the pain of a child. He did
- 1:10what he could with what he had, and
- 1:12with what he was taught. And if he is
- 1:15still here, there is still time. There
- 1:17is time to stop waiting for the perfect
- 1:19father and see the real man you have
- 1:21right there. There is time for a call
- 1:24worth more than pride, for a coffee
- 1:26together, for a thank you, Dad, because
- 1:28some children only understand the value
- 1:30of their father when time has run out.
- 1:33Don't trivialize what is sacred. The
- 1:37hero who raised you didn't wear a cape;
- 1:39he wore beat-up sandals, a worn-out
- 1:41wallet, and a tired heart that never
- 1:43gave up on you. And if he is already
- 1:47gone, let this video be your embrace.
- 1:50But if he is still here, do something,
- 1:52call him, say: "I love you." Show up,
- 1:54give him a hug, and say you’re there
- 1:56for him. Happy Father’s Day. Stay
- 1:59strong and do it the best way you can.
- 2:02M.
