  7. 0:14>> Hi guys, and welcome back to my YouTube
  8. 0:15channel. I'm Jazz, and for those of you
  9. 0:17who don't know me, I make beauty and
  10. 0:18lifestyle content here on YouTube,
  11. 0:20TikTok, and Instagram. And today I'm
  12. 0:21going to be sharing with you some tips,
  13. 0:23beauty and lifestyle tips that are
  14. 0:25completely free or they require things
  15. 0:28that you most definitely already have at
  16. 0:29home. I've discovered these tips over
  17. 0:31the years. I have felt super hot,
  18. 0:33attractive, my best self using these
  19. 0:35tips. And again, they are free, okay?
  20. 0:37Because sometimes less is more. You
  21. 0:38don't need the viral TikTok product to
  22. 0:40feel your best self. You just need some
  23. 0:42good tips, and that is what this video
  24. 0:44is for. So, let's get into it. All
  25. 0:46right, my first $0 beauty tip is to wash
  26. 0:48your hair more often. Every time I say
  27. 0:50that, people want to argue in the
  28. 0:51comments. And that is because TikTok
  29. 0:53society and the internet has tried to
  30. 0:55convince you that hair training is a
  31. 0:56real thing, that if you wash your hair
  32. 0:59as little as possible, you can actually
  33. 1:01train your scalp and your hair to
  34. 1:02produce less oils. And I'm here to tell
  35. 1:03you that that is a complete myth. In
  36. 1:05fact, there was a study done in 2021
  37. 1:08that showed that washing your hair more
  38. 1:09often is actually more beneficial for
  39. 1:11your scalp and your hair. It also showed
  40. 1:13that washing your hair only once a week
  41. 1:15led to poor scalp conditions such as
  42. 1:18irritation, redness, flakiness,
  43. 1:20dandruff, and even increased shedding.
  44. 1:22Furthermore, it also found that there is
  45. 1:24no actual damage being done to your hair
  46. 1:26if you wash it more often. So, I don't
  47. 1:28know where this like myth came from. And
  48. 1:31I don't know why everyone tries to push
  49. 1:32it on all the women. For example, I was
  50. 1:35a victim of this. In college, I was only
  51. 1:37washing my hair like once a week, and I
  52. 1:38was like, "No, I can train it. I can
  53. 1:40train it."
  54. 1:41I went through a rough phase with my
  55. 1:42scalp. I had dandruff. I had flakiness.
  56. 1:44I had itchiness. My scalp was just in
  57. 1:46terrible condition. And you want to know
  58. 1:48what I did to fix it? I started washing
  59. 1:49my hair more often. Now, I wash my hair
  60. 1:51every other day, and my scalp and my
  61. 1:53hair have never been in better
  62. 1:55condition. Think of your scalp as your
  63. 1:57skin, okay? Your skin still needs to be
  64. 1:58cleansed, it needs skin care. Your scalp
  65. 2:00needs the exact same attention and care.
  66. 2:03Not to mention that washing your hair
  67. 2:05more often is just going to give you
  68. 2:06cleaner hair, it's going to give you
  69. 2:08more fluffy, voluminous hair. When you
  70. 2:10don't wash your hair as often, you have
  71. 2:12all this product build up, all these
  72. 2:13oils basically just weighing down your
  73. 2:15hair, and you can tell, okay? Not only
  74. 2:17can you like tell from afar that that
  75. 2:19girl has not washed her hair in a while,
  76. 2:21and me being that girl, like you can
  77. 2:22tell when I have not washed my hair, but
  78. 2:25you can also smell it. Like if you get
  79. 2:26close enough, I promise you, you
  80. 2:28probably wouldn't be able to tell on
  81. 2:29yourself, but other people definitely
  82. 2:31can tell that you have not washed your
  83. 2:32hair in quite some time. So, if you want
  84. 2:34your hair to be shinier, healthier, more
  85. 2:37voluminous, then definitely wash your
  86. 2:39hair more often. That is one thing that
  87. 2:41literally changed my life. I'm never
  88. 2:43going back. Now I wash my hair minimum
  89. 2:45like every 2 days, and my hair has never
  90. 2:48ever again looked healthier or been
  91. 2:50healthier. All right, my next $0 tip is
  92. 2:52to wash your pillowcases more often.
  93. 2:54Listen, I'm not judging you, we all
  94. 2:55forget, okay? I used to think it wasn't
  95. 2:57important, and I used to change my
  96. 2:59pillowcases every few weeks, and I
  97. 3:00thought nothing of it. But just think
  98. 3:02about how much dirt, bacteria, product,
  99. 3:05skin care, hair products, and dead skin
  100. 3:08cells accumulate on your pillowcase
  101. 3:10every single night. And then every
  102. 3:12single night, you're pressing your face
  103. 3:14right up against that breeding ground of
  104. 3:16sorts. I don't even know what's breeding
  105. 3:18on there, but it's going directly on
  106. 3:19your face. So, if you feel like you've
  107. 3:21been suffering with clogged pores,
  108. 3:22breakouts, or skin irritation, and you
  109. 3:24don't know why, it probably is your
  110. 3:26pillowcase. I now switch my pillowcase
  111. 3:28every 4 to 7 days, and I've definitely
  112. 3:30noticed that my skin overall just feels
  113. 3:32cleaner, and I don't have as many
  114. 3:33breakouts or clogged pores, as textures
  115. 3:35as I used to have. Also, every time I
  116. 3:37switch my pillowcase, I feel like my
  117. 3:38hair is cleaner for a longer time. Like
  118. 3:41I'm assuming that all of that product
  119. 3:42build up and oils and skin care sitting
  120. 3:44on my pillowcase eventually get on my
  121. 3:46hair and make my hair dirty as well. So,
  122. 3:48change your pillowcases, your hair and
  123. 3:50your skin will thank you. And this is
  124. 3:51another little hack. I've mentioned this
  125. 3:53hack a couple times on my videos before,
  126. 3:55but I only buy white pillow cases to
  127. 3:57sleep on. That way when I throw it in
  128. 3:59the wash, I can add a little bit of
  129. 4:00bleach, which is great for disinfecting
  130. 4:02and getting rid of bacteria. That
  131. 4:04Sometimes a girl just needs that extra
  132. 4:05little chemical to kill those bacteria,
  133. 4:07okay? Color pillow cases, you cannot add
  134. 4:09bleach, but with the white ones, you can
  135. 4:11add a little bit of bleach. It smells so
  136. 4:13nice and it kills all of the bacteria.
  137. 4:14So, there's a little hack for you. Okay,
  138. 4:16this next tip might be my favorite one
  139. 4:18because genuinely it changed my life. I
  140. 4:21would look down at my legs or even my
  141. 4:23arms sometimes and there would just be
  142. 4:25like bumps all over my legs and all over
  143. 4:27my arms and I had no idea where they
  144. 4:28were coming from. I thought maybe I'm
  145. 4:30using the wrong body wash, maybe I'm
  146. 4:31shaving too often, maybe I need to
  147. 4:33exfoliate more. And literally just one
  148. 4:36thing fixed it and it was applying
  149. 4:38lotion to damp skin. And hear me out
  150. 4:40because I know this sounds really
  151. 4:42unhinged, okay? You're coming out of the
  152. 4:43shower, don't dry off completely. And I
  153. 4:45know that sounds wrong and it's going to
  154. 4:47feel wrong and it's going to look wrong,
  155. 4:49but apply your lotion to damp skin.
  156. 4:51Don't dry off completely and I promise
  157. 4:53you your skin will never feel and look
  158. 4:56as good. One of the biggest mistakes
  159. 4:57that I used to make and I'm sure a lot
  160. 4:59of people still do is drying off
  161. 5:00completely after coming out of the
  162. 5:02shower and then applying your lotion.
  163. 5:03But your lotion is basically a product
  164. 5:05that wants to trap in moisture into your
  165. 5:07skin and if there is no moisture to
  166. 5:09trap, it basically just traps dryness.
  167. 5:12So, it makes the moisturizer not as
  168. 5:13effective. Trust me, I know it sounds
  169. 5:15kind of crazy, but come out of the
  170. 5:16shower, don't dry off completely and
  171. 5:18then apply the lotion or the
  172. 5:19moisturizer. Wait a couple of minutes so
  173. 5:21it can like dry down a little bit and
  174. 5:23then put on your clothes and my bumps
  175. 5:25were gone after I started doing that.
  176. 5:26Like I get no razor bumps, no ingrown
  177. 5:28hairs, nothing. My skin is so baby
  178. 5:31smooth and I seriously think it's
  179. 5:33because I've started to apply lotion to
  180. 5:34damp skin instead of waiting for it to
  181. 5:36dry down completely and then applying my
  182. 5:38lotion. Seriously, it's going to give
  183. 5:39you the softest skin ever and your skin
  184. 5:41is just going to look so naturally glowy
  185. 5:44and healthy. Again, I know it sounds
  186. 5:46kind of insane, but just try it, okay?
  187. 5:48You will thank me for that one. All
  188. 5:49right, $0 beauty tip number four, and it
  189. 5:52is to sleep with the loose ponytail or
  190. 5:54braid every single night. And I know
  191. 5:55that you have heard that before, and you
  192. 5:56brush it off, and you're like, "Why does
  193. 5:58it matter? I'm asleep. Who cares what
  194. 6:00condition my hair is in?" And I used to
  195. 6:01think the exact same thing. But little
  196. 6:03did I know that every night when I was
  197. 6:04going to sleep, I was tossing and
  198. 6:06turning, which was creating a lot of
  199. 6:08friction for my hair, which leads to
  200. 6:09breakage, tangles, frizziness, split
  201. 6:12ends, dry ends, and overall just not
  202. 6:15great-looking hair. Like one day I just
  203. 6:17looked in the mirror and I was like,
  204. 6:18"What's up with my hair?" Because I
  205. 6:19treat it generally well. I use the right
  206. 6:21products. I get haircuts, but
  207. 6:23something's not right with my hair. It's
  208. 6:24just so frizzy, and there's a lot of
  209. 6:26breakage. Like what's happening?" And I
  210. 6:27realized that it was probably happening
  211. 6:29while I was sleeping because every time
  212. 6:31I'd go to sleep, especially when my hair
  213. 6:33was longer, I was basically letting my
  214. 6:34shoulder just tear my hair apart, which
  215. 6:36was leading to very fragile and dry
  216. 6:39hair. But now, every night before I go
  217. 6:41to sleep, I put my hair in a loose
  218. 6:43braid, kind of like this one, or a loose
  219. 6:45ponytail. And not only do I sleep so
  220. 6:47much more comfortably. Please, if
  221. 6:48someone can relate in the comments, let
  222. 6:50me know, but I definitely have some sort
  223. 6:52of sensory issue because if I can feel
  224. 6:54my hair around my neck while I'm asleep
  225. 6:55or going to sleep, I will freak out. I
  226. 6:57hate it. I hate the feeling of my hair
  227. 6:59like on my body. I don't even know if
  228. 7:01that makes any sense. I'm sure someone
  229. 7:02can relate in the comments, but now I
  230. 7:04sleep better now that my hair is just
  231. 7:05completely out of the way. It doesn't
  232. 7:07get tangled. I don't feel it. Again, I
  233. 7:09sleep so much better. My hair is so much
  234. 7:11healthier. It's shinier. It's fuller.
  235. 7:13There's not as much breakage. It's not
  236. 7:14frizzy. But it has also helped my skin
  237. 7:16because I feel like in the past, when I
  238. 7:18slept with my hair down, all the oils in
  239. 7:21my hair and all the products in my hair
  240. 7:23were getting on my pillow, which were
  241. 7:24then transferring over to my face and
  242. 7:26causing clogged pores, irritation,
  243. 7:28breakouts, or texture. And now that I
  244. 7:30sleep with my hair up, I feel like my
  245. 7:32pillow is just a lot cleaner overall. I
  246. 7:34do still switch out my pillowcases, but
  247. 7:36also my pillow is actually cleaner
  248. 7:37because I'm not sleeping with my hair
  249. 7:38down, which means that my skin is a lot
  250. 7:40healthier and cleaner, too. I don't know
  251. 7:42if there's a direct correlation there,
  252. 7:45but I feel like that makes a lot of
  253. 7:46sense. So, if you're someone that has
  254. 7:47very fine hair or you even have a
  255. 7:49thinning hair, definitely sleep with
  256. 7:51your hair up. Even if you have thick,
  257. 7:53luscious, voluminous hair, trust me, it
  258. 7:55will save the health of your hair and it
  259. 7:57will also help your skin in return. It's
  260. 7:59honestly the best of both worlds. I wish
  261. 8:01I would have started doing this a long
  262. 8:02time ago, but I was stubborn. So, if
  263. 8:04you're being stubborn and you want to
  264. 8:05sleep with your hair down, just stop.
  265. 8:06Put it up every single night. Now,
  266. 8:08speaking of hair and self-care, you guys
  267. 8:10know I used to get laser hair removal
  268. 8:11all the time, but I eventually stopped
  269. 8:13because one, it was so expensive, and
  270. 8:15two, you had to keep going back for
  271. 8:16maintenance. Which for me, I was like,
  272. 8:18"No. I'm trying to simplify my self-care
  273. 8:20routine." Which is why I've actually
  274. 8:22been using the WavyTalk Bearer Hair
  275. 8:24Removal Device at home. I actually came
  276. 8:26across it after reading a lot of reviews
  277. 8:27and browsing different websites. I
  278. 8:29wanted to see if I could use it as a
  279. 8:30replacement for the more time-consuming
  280. 8:33and expensive laser hair removal
  281. 8:34sessions. And honestly, I was first
  282. 8:36drawn to how sleek and well-designed it
  283. 8:38looked, but what really impressed me was
  284. 8:39the actual performance of it. One thing
  285. 8:41I loved about this device, and you guys
  286. 8:43know I always love this, is that it is
  287. 8:44clinically tested. According to the
  288. 8:46report, people that use this device
  289. 8:48experienced up to over 97%
  290. 8:51reduction after just 4 weeks. And many
  291. 8:53people notice slower hair growth in as
  292. 8:55little as 2 weeks. I have tried a few
  293. 8:57at-home IPL devices in the past, but
  294. 8:59it's hard to stay consistent with them
  295. 9:01because I felt like they weren't really
  296. 9:02doing anything. This one actually feels
  297. 9:04like it works and it's much more
  298. 9:06effective. Of course, I documented my
  299. 9:08results and how much my hair was growing
  300. 9:10over the past few weeks just so you guys
  301. 9:11can see how well this device worked.
  302. 9:13What I love the most about it is how
  303. 9:14comfortable it is to use. It uses dual
  304. 9:16pulse technology, so instead of one
  305. 9:18strong flash, it delivers two gentler
  306. 9:21pulses. Plus, the cooling window stays
  307. 9:22cool while you're using it, so I never
  308. 9:24got that uncomfortable hot, stinging
  309. 9:26feeling I was expecting. I've mainly
  310. 9:28been using it on my underarms, legs, and
  311. 9:30stomach. And with the precise roller
  312. 9:31attachment, it's really easy to glide
  313. 9:33across larger areas without missing any
  314. 9:35spots. Now, of course, this is not an
  315. 9:37overnight solution. You do need to stay
  316. 9:39consistent to see results, but if you're
  317. 9:41tired of constantly shaving and spending
  318. 9:42money on laser hair removal appointments
  319. 9:44like I did, then I genuinely think that
  320. 9:46this is a great alternative. If you're
  321. 9:48interested, I'll have the wavy talk bear
  322. 9:50hair removal device linked in the
  323. 9:51description below. All right, my next $0
  324. 9:54beauty tip is to brush your teeth after
  325. 9:56doing your skin care routine because
  326. 9:58speaking of breakouts, if you're someone
  327. 9:59that gets a lot of breakouts around your
  328. 10:01chin area or around your mouth area and
  329. 10:03you can't figure out why, like you have
  330. 10:05a good diet, you have good skin care
  331. 10:07routine, the rest of your face is in
  332. 10:09perfect condition, but your chin area
  333. 10:10tends to break out a lot, it might be
  334. 10:12your toothpaste. If you're doing your
  335. 10:13skin care first, you're washing your
  336. 10:15face, you're applying all your products,
  337. 10:17and then you brush your teeth, there is
  338. 10:19most definitely going to be toothpaste
  339. 10:20residue left over all over your chin,
  340. 10:22and you won't even be able to see it
  341. 10:24sometimes, but it's going to be there. I
  342. 10:25mean, you can't help it, especially if
  343. 10:26you're an aggressive brusher. Like, I'm
  344. 10:29pretty aggressive brusher, so sometimes
  345. 10:30the foam it just gets everywhere, and
  346. 10:32that's okay because I at least know my
  347. 10:34teeth are clean. But, I used to leave a
  348. 10:36little bit of residue on my chin
  349. 10:37overnight, and I would wake up, and I
  350. 10:39would have just clogged pores on my
  351. 10:40chin, little breakouts, little pimples,
  352. 10:42and I did not understand why, and it's
  353. 10:44because it was my toothpaste. Most
  354. 10:46toothpaste come with ingredients that
  355. 10:47are basically irritants for your skin
  356. 10:49because they're not meant to be on your
  357. 10:50skin. So, every time you're brushing
  358. 10:52your teeth and you're leaving a little
  359. 10:53bit of residue, again, even when you
  360. 10:55can't see it, it will cause irritation
  361. 10:57and breakouts. So, now I always brush my
  362. 10:59teeth first, and if the foam gets
  363. 11:01everywhere, I do not care. Let it get
  364. 11:03everywhere because guess what? I'm about
  365. 11:05to do my skin care right I'm going to
  366. 11:06wash my face, wash away all of that
  367. 11:08residue, and then go in with my skin
  368. 11:10care. It's such an easy habit to switch
  369. 11:12because it only takes switching out the
  370. 11:14order of your routine. I seriously wish
  371. 11:16I would have known this like years ago
  372. 11:18when I was in college. I always like say
  373. 11:19when I was in college because your girl
  374. 11:21went through it in college, but I didn't
  375. 11:22know any of this stuff, so I wish I
  376. 11:24would have known that washing your face
  377. 11:26after brushing your teeth makes the most
  378. 11:28sense. Like, logically, it even makes
  379. 11:30the most sense. Now, I genuinely get so
  380. 11:32weirded out if I have to wash my face
  381. 11:35and do my skin care first and then brush
  382. 11:36my teeth because I'm like, "No, this
  383. 11:37isn't right." So, switch the order of
  384. 11:39that if you haven't already and it might
  385. 11:40clear up any breakouts or irritation you
  386. 11:43have around your chin. All right, my
  387. 11:44next $0 beauty tip. This is going to be
  388. 11:47more of a lifestyle tip and some people
  389. 11:49are going to be like, "Oof, like it
  390. 11:50might hit the spot. Like I might be
  391. 11:52talking directly to you." Or some people
  392. 11:54might say, "Well, I already don't do
  393. 11:55that." So, good for you. But this is
  394. 11:57something that I changed a few years ago
  395. 11:59and man it didn't change my entire life,
  396. 12:01but specifically beauty-related, I feel
  397. 12:04like I just glow so much more overall
  398. 12:07and it is to consume way, way less
  399. 12:10alcohol. I used to drink so much in
  400. 12:12college and you know what? I'm not even
  401. 12:14like regretful or shameful about it
  402. 12:16because I had fun, okay? Everybody's
  403. 12:17having fun. Everybody's drinking. It's
  404. 12:19very normalized in college to drink a
  405. 12:21ton. So, I drank a lot in college and
  406. 12:23that's fine, but coming out of college
  407. 12:25is where I suffered because it was
  408. 12:26really hard for me to drop that habit of
  409. 12:28drinking constantly. So, I found myself
  410. 12:31having two to three glasses of wine
  411. 12:32every single night. That is a problem,
  412. 12:34okay? You are having that many glasses
  413. 12:36of wine every single night and you think
  414. 12:38it's normal, it's not. It's very
  415. 12:39normalized, but it's just not normal and
  416. 12:42it cannot be good for you. It's not
  417. 12:43noticeable at first, but it does change
  418. 12:45the way that you look. I remember I
  419. 12:47would look in the mirror and I'd be
  420. 12:48like, "Something doesn't look right.
  421. 12:50Like something's off, but I can't tell
  422. 12:52what it is. Like maybe I've just put on
  423. 12:54a little bit of weight. Maybe I'm not
  424. 12:55drinking enough water. Maybe I'm not
  425. 12:56eating enough good whole foods." Like I
  426. 12:58don't know what is up with my face, but
  427. 13:00something is just off. Like something
  428. 13:02isn't right. At one point, I think I
  429. 13:03even just accepted like, "Okay, this is
  430. 13:05what I look like." And then I quit
  431. 13:06alcohol because I was determined to
  432. 13:08actually stop drinking. I think at the
  433. 13:10age of like 22 or 23, I realized, "You
  434. 13:12know what? This is kind of a problem. I
  435. 13:14need to kind of like chill it out a
  436. 13:15little bit." So, then I quit alcohol for
  437. 13:17a week and then two weeks and then a
  438. 13:18month. And the difference that it made
  439. 13:21in my face is actually insane. This was
  440. 13:25honestly one of the most noticeable
  441. 13:26beauty changes that I experienced
  442. 13:29probably out of all of the tips in this
  443. 13:31video. I just had a glow up. Like, I
  444. 13:33stopped drinking and I genuinely had a
  445. 13:34glow up. Alcohol is dehydrating and
  446. 13:37dehydration is one of the first things
  447. 13:38that shows up in your face. Your skin is
  448. 13:40going to look a lot more dull. Your face
  449. 13:42might look puffier. Your fine lines
  450. 13:44might be a little bit more pronounced.
  451. 13:46Your bags might be a little bit more
  452. 13:48protruding. Okay, the darker circles
  453. 13:50might be a little bit more noticeable.
  454. 13:52Alcohol also disrupts your sleep
  455. 13:53quality, which means that if you're not
  456. 13:55getting enough sleep, so much of that
  457. 13:56time while you're asleep and your skin
  458. 13:58is repairing itself is now gone because
  459. 14:01you're not getting enough sleep. So,
  460. 14:02you're going to wake up and you're going
  461. 14:04to look more tired and less radiant, but
  462. 14:06that's going to be your norm every
  463. 14:07single day if you are a heavy and
  464. 14:10consistent drinker. Alcohol can also
  465. 14:12increase inflammation, which means that
  466. 14:14any redness, acne, irritation, or
  467. 14:16breakouts that you have are just going
  468. 14:17to get worsened by the effects of
  469. 14:19alcohol. I'm so serious that cutting it
  470. 14:21out, it just made such a huge difference
  471. 14:23in my face. I feel like I used to be a
  472. 14:25lot more puffier. Like, my skin was
  473. 14:26definitely drier. My makeup would set
  474. 14:28into my fine lines a lot more easily.
  475. 14:30But, now that I've very much chilled out
  476. 14:32on alcohol, and I'm not saying that I've
  477. 14:33quit, but now I only drink like on
  478. 14:35special occasions or once or twice a
  479. 14:37month. I don't drink nearly as often as
  480. 14:40I used to. My skin, I just think looks a
  481. 14:42lot brighter. It looks a lot more even
  482. 14:44and healthier. Even my eyes look
  483. 14:46healthier. Like, when I drink, I can
  484. 14:48tell the next day that my eyes just look
  485. 14:50so heavy and the whites around my eyes
  486. 14:53look a lot more dull and not as bright.
  487. 14:55I'm telling you guys that the effects
  488. 14:57that alcohol has on your face, you might
  489. 14:59not even notice it at first. You're just
  490. 15:01going to look in the mirror one day and
  491. 15:02you're going to be like, "That doesn't
  492. 15:03even really look like me. Like,
  493. 15:04something's off." And it's because
  494. 15:06alcohol is one of those drugs. You won't
  495. 15:08be able to tell at first, but over time,
  496. 15:10it's just going to wear you down. And
  497. 15:11you're not going to glow up, you're
  498. 15:12going to glow down. So, if you are a
  499. 15:14heavy drinker, there's no shame, okay? I
  500. 15:17used to be someone that I would title
  501. 15:19myself a heavy drinker. I stopped. I had
  502. 15:21my fun. That was it. I'm very much
  503. 15:23happier now, not just in the way that I
  504. 15:25look and beauty-wise, but my mood, my
  505. 15:27self-esteem, my depression has gotten so
  506. 15:30much better, my anxiety has gotten so
  507. 15:31much better. So, there are so many
  508. 15:32reasons to stop drinking alcohol. If
  509. 15:34you're a heavy drinker, I definitely
  510. 15:36recommend looking into taking the next
  511. 15:39steps to becoming a little bit more
  512. 15:41sober. All right, this next $0 beauty
  513. 15:43tip is one that literally requires $0.
  514. 15:46Like, all of them require $0, but this
  515. 15:47one really requires nothing. But, it's
  516. 15:50also one of the ones that's probably the
  517. 15:51hardest to achieve, especially if this
  518. 15:53is a bad habit of yours or the way that
  519. 15:55you grew up, and it is about breathing,
  520. 15:57okay? The correct form and posture as it
  521. 16:00relates to breathing. Breathing
  522. 16:02correctly is not something that's really
  523. 16:04taught. It's more of a given, but
  524. 16:06unfortunately for me, that didn't
  525. 16:07process in my head, so I grew up a mouth
  526. 16:10breather my entire life. Like, in middle
  527. 16:12school, I will never forget when this
  528. 16:13guy, we were in like a little group,
  529. 16:15little group desk or whatever, and it
  530. 16:16was so embarrassing when he called me
  531. 16:18out and spoke up and said, "Why are you
  532. 16:20breathing so hard? I can hear you
  533. 16:22breathing all the way over here." And I
  534. 16:24was like, "Oh, oh, okay." Ever since
  535. 16:27then, I like took a vow. I shall not be
  536. 16:29a mouth breather because I was so
  537. 16:30embarrassed, you guys, like, you don't
  538. 16:31even know. Breathing correctly,
  539. 16:33breathing through your nose is so
  540. 16:35important, not just for the way that you
  541. 16:37look, but also for your health. Let me
  542. 16:38explain first what happens when you are
  543. 16:40a mouth breather. If you're constantly
  544. 16:42breathing in and out through your mouth,
  545. 16:43you're probably going to notice that
  546. 16:44your head naturally sits a little bit
  547. 16:46further, so it kind of looks like you're
  548. 16:48slouching a little bit, and that makes
  549. 16:50of your posture also start to slouch a
  550. 16:52little bit. Your jawline looks less
  551. 16:54defined, and you might even have an
  552. 16:57underbite or an overbite, which I
  553. 16:58definitely had a little bit of an
  554. 17:01underbite when I was in middle school,
  555. 17:03and I had to get braces to correct that,
  556. 17:04but little did I know that it was
  557. 17:06probably because I was breathing
  558. 17:08incorrectly. Okay, I was a mouth
  559. 17:10breather. I remember seeing a YouTube
  560. 17:11video where one of my favorite creators
  561. 17:13said that fixing the way that you
  562. 17:14breathe, aka breathing correctly through
  563. 17:17your nose, will correct your posture,
  564. 17:19define your jaw, and that can make you
  565. 17:21look more awake and alert and confident
  566. 17:23because a lot of people don't really
  567. 17:25understand that your posture is a big
  568. 17:27puzzle piece of how you portray yourself
  569. 17:29and how confident you look and how
  570. 17:30elevated you look. Like if you're
  571. 17:32someone who slouches and you don't have
  572. 17:33the best form, you don't have the best
  573. 17:35posture, that can psychologically tell
  574. 17:37other people that you're someone that's
  575. 17:38not confident or very shy or you're very
  576. 17:40timid. And it's okay to be shy, okay?
  577. 17:42I'm shy. But, I do want to have good
  578. 17:43posture and not just for the way that I
  579. 17:45look, but just for my overall health and
  580. 17:48well-being. In fact, being a mouth
  581. 17:50breather, especially if it's a habit and
  582. 17:51it's something you've done your whole
  583. 17:53life, can chronically dry out your
  584. 17:55mouth, which can also cause bad breath,
  585. 17:57tooth decay, cavities, and a number of
  586. 18:00other issues. Breathing through your
  587. 18:01nose is overall just more beneficial.
  588. 18:03Every time you breathe through your
  589. 18:04nose, all your little nose hairs filter,
  590. 18:06warm, and humidify the air that you
  591. 18:08breathe in, which is better for your
  592. 18:10lungs. You also get better quality of
  593. 18:11sleep when you breathe through your nose
  594. 18:13versus your mouth. That is something
  595. 18:14that I haven't been able to correct
  596. 18:16completely or fully, okay? I will be
  597. 18:18asleep and my mouth just like slings
  598. 18:20open. I don't know why. It's the most
  599. 18:22comfortable, I think, for me. But,
  600. 18:23during the day when I'm alert and awake,
  601. 18:25I, for the past like 10 years, have been
  602. 18:28very conscious of being like, I am a
  603. 18:30nose breather. I breathe through my
  604. 18:31nose, and I do feel like it's just given
  605. 18:34me a new sense of confidence by
  606. 18:36correcting my posture and my face. I
  607. 18:38used to have an underbite, like I said,
  608. 18:39but I do feel like correcting my
  609. 18:41breathing and my posture overall has
  610. 18:43definitely just given me a new look.
  611. 18:45you're someone who's a mouth breather,
  612. 18:47definitely start consciously correcting
  613. 18:49that during the day because, again, it's
  614. 18:51not just about the way that you look,
  615. 18:52but it's also going to have great health
  616. 18:55benefits. All right, my last and final
  617. 18:56$0 beauty tip is to prioritize sleep.
  618. 19:00The amount of people that I know that do
  619. 19:02not prioritize sleep, and in fact, they
  620. 19:04show off. I feel like I know so many
  621. 19:05people that say like,
  622. 19:06>> "I only get like 5 hours of sleep every
  623. 19:08night. Like, that's just how I live my
  624. 19:10life." But, then they're complaining
  625. 19:11about their skin and their hair and
  626. 19:13their weight and I'm like, you need to
  627. 19:15prioritize sleep. Sleep is probably one
  628. 19:17of the most important and beneficial and
  629. 19:19essential things that you can do if you
  630. 19:21want to feel great and you want to look
  631. 19:23great. When I was in college, I was one
  632. 19:24of those people, okay? I was getting 6
  633. 19:26to 7 hours of sleep every single night.
  634. 19:28Not because I wanted to, but because I
  635. 19:29had to. And I didn't think it was
  636. 19:31affecting me that much. Like at the end
  637. 19:32of the day, I was like, your girl needs
  638. 19:33to pass her college classes. So if I'm
  639. 19:35only going to get a few hours of sleep,
  640. 19:36then I guess that's what I got to do.
  641. 19:37But little did I know how much it was
  642. 19:39affecting me especially in the long run.
  643. 19:41Sleep is one of those things that
  644. 19:42catches up to you. While you sleep, your
  645. 19:44body is repairing any skin damage,
  646. 19:47producing collagen, and replacing old
  647. 19:49skin cells with new ones. So if you're
  648. 19:51not getting enough sleep and then you
  649. 19:52look in the mirror and you look tired
  650. 19:53because you obviously are tired as well.
  651. 19:55Your skin looks dull, you'll have more
  652. 19:57breakouts, your skin feels dry or it
  653. 19:59looks dry, your skin and your face is
  654. 20:01just puffier overall. That's because
  655. 20:03you're not giving your body the sleep
  656. 20:05that it needs to repair itself
  657. 20:06overnight. Getting consistent sleep is
  658. 20:08going to help your face look brighter,
  659. 20:10less red, less dull, less breakouts,
  660. 20:12less inflammation, soften the appearance
  661. 20:14of any dark circles, and overall just
  662. 20:16give you a healthier glow. Getting
  663. 20:17enough sleep also helps to regulate
  664. 20:19stress hormones, which can of course
  665. 20:21indirectly help control and reduce your
  666. 20:23breakouts, especially if you're someone
  667. 20:25that struggles with a lot of hormone
  668. 20:26imbalance. And it's not just your skin,
  669. 20:28okay? Your hair, your mood, even like
  670. 20:31the white parts of your eyes are going
  671. 20:33to be and look healthier when you're
  672. 20:34actually well-rested as opposed to when
  673. 20:37you're getting 5 to 6 hours of sleep
  674. 20:39every single night. you're watching this
  675. 20:40video and you are a woman, you should be
  676. 20:42getting way more sleep than 5 to 6 hours
  677. 20:44because we women need more sleep. It is
  678. 20:47[music] just a biological thing. Men can
  679. 20:49get away with having a little bit of
  680. 20:50sleep, even then it'll catch up to them,
  681. 20:52but women, we need more sleep. We need
  682. 20:54literally our beauty sleep. Oh my god, I
  683. 20:57just realized where that came from. So
  684. 20:58if you're someone that's investing a lot
  685. 20:59of money in skin care and products and
  686. 21:01beauty tech and vitamins and treatment
  687. 21:03and you're drinking enough water, but
  688. 21:04then you're also not getting enough
  689. 21:06sleep, you are not giving your skin the
  690. 21:08time that it needs overnight to repair
  691. 21:10itself, the time that it needs to glow
  692. 21:13up while you sleep. So, definitely
  693. 21:14prioritize your sleep. If there's one
  694. 21:16takeaway from this video, I honestly
  695. 21:18think this one because this doesn't just
  696. 21:20affect you beauty-wise. It's not just
  697. 21:21going to give you a glow up, but you are
  698. 21:23going to be overall healthier. You're
  699. 21:24going to live longer, okay? So,
  700. 21:26prioritize sleep. Sleeping only 5 to 6
  701. 21:28hours every single night is not cool,
  702. 21:30okay? I know there's a lot of people
  703. 21:31that think it's cool. I don't know why
  704. 21:33people show off about that because every
  705. 21:34time someone says that, I genuinely feel
  706. 21:36bad for you. Like, I'm like,
  707. 21:38>> [gasps and sighs]
  708. 21:38>> "Ah." All right, guys. Those were all of
  709. 21:39my $0 beauty tips. Those are my beauty
  710. 21:42and lifestyle tips that cost me $0. I
  711. 21:45didn't need to buy a single item to
  712. 21:47introduce these habits into my life, and
  713. 21:49I genuinely feel like they gave me a
  714. 21:51glow up, especially long-term when I
  715. 21:53started doing these things. I wish I
  716. 21:54knew all of these things back in the day
  717. 21:57because I used to think that spending
  718. 21:59all your money on expensive products and
  719. 22:01beauty tech, like I said, and
  720. 22:02treatments, and all these other fun
  721. 22:04things was going to give me the
  722. 22:05confidence that I needed, when really, I
