- 0:03Ibn Arabi says to Imam Mahdi, "Focus
- 0:07your vision and cherish your gaze."
- 0:12Here, Ibn Arabi wants to tell Imam
- 0:15Mahdi that the time has come to focus
- 0:19your vision, meaning the insight that
- 0:22exists within you, inside your heart,
- 0:26which knows and perceives the truth.
- 0:30You must focus it, attend to it, and
- 0:34not be distracted by anything else;
- 0:38concentrate on it further until the
- 0:42image becomes clear to you, and you
- 0:45perceive and witness it. Then Ibn Arabi
- 0:49says, "Cherish the gaze." The word "
- 0:54cherish" implies a request for love and
- 0:58affection; thus, "cherish the gaze"
- 1:01means to direct your love and affection
- 1:05toward seeking to look at what is
- 1:08within the insight that resides in your
- 1:12heart, and make your gaze love this
- 1:17truth and yearn for it—which is the
- 1:21love of God Almighty, closeness to God
- 1:25Almighty, and the knowledge of God
- 1:28Almighty and the knowledge of His
- 1:32spirit and His great revelation. Then
- 1:38Ibn Arabi says after that: "And purify
- 1:40the remembrance and the struggle."
- 1:43Meaning, after you focus your vision
- 1:45and cherish your gaze. Purify the
- 1:48remembrance. Meaning, make your
- 1:51remembrance of God sincere. Not for the
- 1:56sake of worldly pursuit, or a material
- 1:58thing, or personal interest. Rather,
- 2:02make your remembrance of God sincere.
- 2:06Wanting nothing but His Countenance.
- 2:09Out of love for God, passion for God,
- 2:12and longing and yearning to see. God
- 2:16Almighty. As for the word "struggle"
- 2:22here, Ibn Arabi mentioned it with
- 2:25remembrance, meaning: Ibn Arabi wants
- 2:28to tell the Mahdi: That if you are also
- 2:31sincere in the struggle and in
- 2:34overcoming. Your material desires. And
- 2:39you become unconcerned with them. If
- 2:42you do that, and are sincere in it.
- 2:45Then your remembrance of God will
- 2:48become pure. And you will also have
- 2:52succeeded in focusing your vision and
- 2:56cherishing your gaze. Then Ibn Arabi
- 3:00says after that: "And be
- 3:02self-sufficient through thought and
- 3:05contemplation." Here is a signal from
- 3:08Ibn Arabi to the Mahdi to pay attention
- 3:12to and heed what is going on inside him
- 3:15of thought or thoughts, and to observe
- 3:18these thoughts that come to him, to
- 3:21care for them, to research his thoughts
- 3:25, to contemplate them deeply, and not
- 3:29to distract himself with external
- 3:31thoughts that occupy him from what is
- 3:34going on within him of thoughts and
- 3:37inspirations that come to him from God
- 3:41Almighty, which, if he cares for them
- 3:44and observes them, he will find in them
- 3:47self-sufficiency from any other
- 3:50external thoughts. Then Ibn Arabi says
- 3:56after that: "And prepare yourself to
- 3:58accept what the Messenger brings you."
- 4:03Here Ibn Arabi clarifies to the Mahdi,
- 4:06peace be upon him. That after he
- 4:09becomes self-sufficient with his
- 4:12thoughts and inspirations that come to
- 4:15him from God Almighty, and cares for
- 4:18them and observes them, if he does that
- 4:21and does not occupy himself with other
- 4:24thoughts coming from others and also
- 4:27does all that we have previously
- 4:29mentioned, then he must prepare himself
- 4:34to accept what the Messenger brings him
- 4:36. Here Ibn Arabi intends, and God knows
- 4:40best, the night of the Mahdi's
- 4:42rectification, peace be upon him, in
- 4:45which his night journey will take place
- 4:48. Ibn Arabi has previously mentioned
- 4:52that the Mahdi has an appointment with
- 4:53the night journey on the night of his
- 4:55rectification. So, Ibn Arabi means by
- 5:00the Messenger, whom the Mahdi will
- 5:03prepare to accept what he brings, is a
- 5:07messenger from God Almighty. He will
- 5:12come to the Mahdi and inform him of
- 5:14what God Almighty commands him to do.
- 5:19And the Mahdi must prepare to accept
- 5:21what he will hear from this Messenger.
- 5:27Then Ibn Arabi says after that: "You
- 5:29will stand upon clarity, and the veil
- 5:32will be removed from your eye." You
- 5:37will stand upon clarity, and clarity is
- 5:39the manifest and obvious thing. Meaning
- 5:42that you. O Mahdi, the time has come.
- 5:47In which you will stand to see and
- 5:49witness. Everything that was hidden
- 5:52from you will be clear and plain. You
- 5:56will see and witness it with absolute
- 5:58certainty. Your confusion, searching,
- 6:02investigating, and yearning for the
- 6:05truth will cease. Your suffering,
- 6:11trials, sorrows, worries, and fatigue
- 6:15will also cease. This is because the
- 6:20veil will be lifted from your eyes. And
- 6:24you will see everything. You will see
- 6:27the realities of the dead and the
- 6:30living. You will see, witness, perceive
- 6:33, and grasp the truth. Which you were
- 6:37seeking and wanting to know. For you
- 6:41are the loving, truthful, sincere, and
- 6:45loyal servant to God Almighty. And this
- 6:49is your reward from God Almighty. Then
- 6:56Ibn Arabi says after that, "This is a
- 6:59subtlety, so know its value." Here, Ibn
- 7:04Arabi says to Imam Mahdi, peace be upon
- 7:07him, "This is a subtlety." And the
- 7:10subtlety is the hidden sign. Meaning, "
- 7:14O Mahdi, this is a hidden sign within
- 7:18you." So know its value, pay attention,
- 7:22and search for it until you find it.
- 7:25For you are the one who will recognize
- 7:28it. Then Ibn Arabi says after that, "
- 7:31And verify its matter." Meaning, search
- 7:36for this hidden sign or the hidden
- 7:40thing within you. When you find it,
- 7:45confirm it, believe it, and make it a
- 7:48reality. Then Ibn Arabi says after that
- 7:53, "For it is the essence of the matter
- 7:56and the hidden secret." Meaning, this
- 8:00hidden sign existing in you and within
- 8:02you is the essence of the matter.
- 8:05Meaning, it is what will make you reach
- 8:07the truth. And "hidden secret" means
- 8:10the secret is concealed within it. So
- 8:14if you find it, the secret will be
- 8:16revealed to you, and you will know the
- 8:18truth. And the veil will be lifted from
- 8:21your eyes. Your vision will become
- 8:23sharp as iron. You will see things that
- 8:26people do not see, by the permission of
- 8:29God Almighty. And by a grace from God
- 8:31upon you and God's love for you. For
- 8:35you are the loving, truthful, sincere,
- 8:39and loyal servant to God Almighty.
