5. 0:11security prison namely hm Wakefield
6. 0:14where we' reported on quite a number of
7. 0:16taxs from that prison and we won't be
8. 0:19too shedding too many tears about this
9. 0:21later one and it involves a man named
10. 0:23Mick philpop um who has been attacked
11. 0:26right but before we go into that a
12. 0:28little bit of background to all this he
13. 0:30got convicted of manslaughter around
14. 0:342012 and got a 15-year minimum life term
15. 0:39for mansau he had two codefendants one
16. 0:42of them his Mrs myid and another geizer
17. 0:45called Mosley but both of those parties
18. 0:47are not now out because simply they
19. 0:50didn't get life sentences right um but
20. 0:55background on Philpot is he appeared on
21. 0:57Jeremy Kyle right the TV program many of
22. 1:00you will be aware of that but also he
23. 1:03appeared on the benefits um Scandal of
24. 1:06having loads of kids and seem to be
25. 1:08gloating over the fact that he could
26. 1:11claim so much money on behalf of the
27. 1:13amount of children that he had not just
28. 1:17um the six five six or seven that he has
29. 1:20had with myid but a previous
30. 1:21relationship as well I think her name
31. 1:24was Willis or Kellis or something like
32. 1:26that but that broke down and he he ended
33. 1:28up with myid
34. 1:30um but in the in the benefits um
35. 1:32documentary with um confronted
36. 1:36by a lady that I met along my lifetime
37. 1:39and Wham who I like very very much um
38. 1:42told him to his face that he was a
39. 1:43blatant coward and just living off the
40. 1:46stay that kind of thing and he became
41. 1:48quite aggressive with her so the signs
42. 1:49were already there with the type of
43. 1:51Personality that we are talking about
44. 1:54here today now obviously the Limelight
45. 1:58being on TV thinking he's something
46. 1:59think he's not um they hatched a plan to
47. 2:04um set fire to their own house um with
48. 2:08the ingredients of wanting a new house
49. 2:12and blaming his ex partner the one with
50. 2:15the other children of setting fire to it
51. 2:18and his part in this was that it is
52. 2:20believed that he would be a hero of some
53. 2:22kind and be able to save the six
54. 2:25children his children I believe um and
55. 2:29get them out safely out of that house an
56. 2:32absolute botched up plan for a man who
57. 2:35obviously lacks realest um um thinking
58. 2:38skills that the plat the plot went wrong
59. 2:41and all six of his kids they died right
60. 2:45so not the greatest thinking man of
61. 2:48course um that you could think of such a
62. 2:51plan without looking at all the
63. 2:53consequences now we get into that debate
64. 2:55about him only being found guilty on
65. 2:58mans law look realis ically um the
66. 3:01courts accepted that he didn't really
67. 3:04intend to murder the children it was for
68. 3:07the reasons that I have just suggested
69. 3:10but my days what a loophole in in a man
70. 3:14in the
71. 3:15manslaughter um leg um law um so to
72. 3:18speak that you could come up with a plan
73. 3:21basically of you know not wanting to
74. 3:24look like a hero by saving the children
75. 3:26by wanting to burn down the house
76. 3:30um for reasons to blame someone else and
77. 3:33to get a new house out of it and then
78. 3:35get custody of the other children that
79. 3:37his previous partner had what an
80. 3:40absolute shambles of a man right um
81. 3:44basically another inmate has crept up
82. 3:48behind him and smashed his head in with
83. 3:51uh a metal object U namely probably a
84. 3:54flask but he didn't need outside
85. 3:56hospital he's ended up being badly
86. 3:58shaken bad bruised and is feeling sorry
87. 4:02for himself but not many people going to
88. 4:04feel too sorry for him but but this is
89. 4:06the first attack that he's had basically
90. 4:09in 13 years if we calculate it from 212
91. 4:12that he is up for parole in
92. 4:1720127 um with the other two obviously
93. 4:20being released already um the parole
94. 4:23board will look at it probably that he
95. 4:25didn't mean to murder the children but
96. 4:29can't see him get getting out on the
97. 4:31first hearing um but Beggar's belief
98. 4:34that not that we promote violence on yam
99. 4:37BTV that this is the first real Attack
100. 4:40on him of this kind you think with
101. 4:42manslaughter of six children or murder
102. 4:44of six children whichever way you want
103. 4:46to look at it um you know it's probably
104. 4:49one of the most horrendous crimes out
105. 4:51there with so little minimum um term of
106. 4:55imprisonment 15 years that calculates
107. 4:58that basically 15 years is two years
108. 5:02near enough two and a quarter bit years
109. 5:05for each manslaughter of those children
110. 5:09that you know with a parole board really
111. 5:12believe that a man who what has he done
112. 5:14in there the enhanced thinking skills to
113. 5:17get his thinking a little bit better
114. 5:19that kind of stuff to see that he's risk
115. 5:21will be able to be managed in the
116. 5:23community that he wouldn't be a he
117. 5:25wouldn't be able to say man again that
118. 5:27you know he's to he's going to have to
119. 5:28live with that error of his thinking and
120. 5:31that it's his fault that those six
121. 5:33lovely little children who never ever um
122. 5:36got a chance to live into um um Children
123. 5:40and adolescents and get a life that they
124. 5:43deserved and losing their life at their
125. 5:45hands of a man that was so full of
126. 5:47himself after going on TV programs that
127. 5:50he thought that he could get away with
128. 5:53anything but um no it's coming in but
129. 5:56it's not real real serious damage um but
130. 5:59we are just letting you know that he is
131. 6:01up for parole and we say on yib be TV
132. 6:04and quite rightly so that many of you
133. 6:06will say um that Justice continues to be
134. 6:09served on this matter and no matter
135. 6:11whether the minimum term is 15 years
136. 6:14before he gets eligible for parole in
137. 6:172027 um we expect a a large number of
138. 6:21years on top of this before he proves
139. 6:25conclusively um that he won't have those
140. 6:28same kind of thinking skills
141. 6:30ever again so I'll be up later probably
