5 Ways to Be Soft *AND* Ambitious Without Burning Out — Transcript

- 0:00I think that I've always or I kind of
- 0:02after childhood became a really serious
- 0:05person. I think it's also a byproduct of
- 0:08how I was raised and the people in my
- 0:11life who kind of respect a more serious
- 0:14tone, serious attitude instead of being
- 0:16playful or goofy or silly because maybe
- 0:19it isn't the best way to be if you want
- 0:21to be successful. I'm going to strip a
- 0:23lot of that down today and just kind of
- 0:25explain the realities of hustling, the
- 0:28dangers of it, but also ways that we can
- 0:31still be highly ambitious and get a lot
- 0:34done and follow our goals without
- 0:37sacrificing who we are and rest and
- 0:40play.
- 0:50We've been on like a blue theme for
- 0:53these last few episodes. Hello, hello,
- 0:55and welcome back to another episode of
- 0:57The 20's Detox. I'm Bianca, your host,
- 0:59where we dive into all the things that
- 1:01I'm learning and unlearning in my 20s to
- 1:04elevate this decade. Make sure to follow
- 1:06along. I post an episode every single
- 1:08Tuesday either relating to seasonal
- 1:10guidance, aligning your life with the
- 1:12seasons, goal setting that aligns with
- 1:14the energy that's happening outside and
- 1:16then also some tips for navigating young
- 1:19adulthood in your 20s and sometimes your
- 1:2230s. Like I'm almost in my 30s, so I'm
- 1:24going to still count it. I also have a
- 1:26goal of reaching a hundred reviews on
- 1:28Spotify. So if you have been listening
- 1:31to some time and you are enjoying some
- 1:33of these episodes, just make sure to
- 1:34give it a quick review. that would mean
- 1:36so much to me. I if you can see this, I
- 1:38have like so many like scraggly notes
- 1:40here, but I am focusing on something I'm
- 1:44really passionate about and I don't even
- 1:45really talk about too much, but it is in
- 1:48the realm of hustle culture, rest, and
- 1:50play. So, these are five things that I
- 1:52wish I knew sooner about what it means
- 1:54to hustle, what it means to rest, play,
- 1:57so that I can still stay ahead in my 20s
- 1:59and not, you know, like dillydally, but
- 2:01also not burn myself out. If you don't
- 2:04know much about me, a little bit about
- 2:06myself is I would say I'm a very highly
- 2:09productive, ambitious person. When
- 2:12people knew me in high school and
- 2:14university, I was so far on the hustle
- 2:18side. It's not even funny. Like all I've
- 2:20definitely pulled all allnighters.
- 2:22Getting the best grades were so
- 2:24important to me. I had Post-it notes
- 2:27everywhere. Every single day I had to
- 2:29follow this to-do list. like there was
- 2:30very little room for play. There was
- 2:33very little room for rest and having
- 2:35fun. And I'm so grateful for the friends
- 2:38that I did make in university despite
- 2:41whether or not we are friends now. But I
- 2:43am grateful to have been friends with
- 2:45them because they reminded me to play.
- 2:48They reminded me to have fun. The first
- 2:50tip that I'm going to be sharing, you
- 2:52actually need to experience both the
- 2:56hardness of hustle culture and the
- 2:58softness of the soft life before you're
- 3:00able to find the balance. That goes for
- 3:03everything in being a human. Like think
- 3:07about all the times you've experienced
- 3:10extremes
- 3:11before you were able to know what is
- 3:14your balance with it. In this case, it
- 3:16can be the hard life, the soft life.
- 3:19Maybe it's in the dating world. Like
- 3:22before, I feel like I dressed a lot for
- 3:25the male gays and my focus was a lot for
- 3:27the male gays. And so everything that I
- 3:30bought and wore and acted like was for
- 3:33the male gays. And then I shifted to
- 3:35this extreme of not wanting that at all
- 3:39and not wanting any of that attention.
- 3:41And I turned really inward and only
- 3:43spend time with the girls. And that does
- 3:45serve a purpose, right? Like you need to
- 3:48turn inward, but then also I was at a
- 3:51period of my life where I wanted to
- 3:53still like find a person, find a
- 3:55partner. Um, and not that I shifted back
- 3:59to dressing with the male gaze, but I
- 4:01allowed myself to be seen and perceived
- 4:04in that world where I was trying to find
- 4:07a male partner, but not jump too far to
- 4:10the male gaze area. I still was like
- 4:12with my girls focusing on my friendships
- 4:14there. And I want you to just think
- 4:16about that for a sec. Like how many
- 4:17times have you hopped from one extreme
- 4:19to another? That's super valuable
- 4:22information. I briefly mentioned in
- 4:24university I was definitely in the hard
- 4:26life like the the hustle life.
- 4:29Everything was serious. My routines were
- 4:31very rigid and strict. If I didn't
- 4:33follow those routines, I was feeling
- 4:36really guilty and not enough quite a
- 4:39lot. I felt this like constant cycle of
- 4:43because I didn't get my to-do list done
- 4:45in the right way. Even if I got
- 4:47everything done on that to-do list, I
- 4:49was left with, "Oh, but I could have
- 4:50squeezed one more thing in and I'm still
- 4:53not productive enough to be able to do
- 4:54that." Like, I was never left feeling
- 4:57satisfied with my work. And I felt like
- 5:01I woke up one day realizing, "Oh my
- 5:03gosh, I'm kind of living this robotic
- 5:05life." like I'm kind of just waking up
- 5:08needing to do the same things, needing
- 5:11to follow this exact workout routine. I
- 5:13have this strict schedule with school. I
- 5:15have these strict ways of how I study,
- 5:18how I do things, the foods I eat, the
- 5:20meal preps. It was becoming a very
- 5:22robotic life. There wasn't a lot of
- 5:24flexibility. There was no play in it at
- 5:28all. And what happened was because I
- 5:32woke up to that and thought, "Oh, this
- 5:34is why I'm feeling miserable. I
- 5:37disregarded all of that." And what tends
- 5:40to happen when you go into this soft
- 5:42life where you have fewer routines, it's
- 5:45a lot more fluid. You are able to
- 5:48connect with yourself a lot more, 100%.
- 5:50You're able to connect with your
- 5:51intuition, your femininity. That goes
- 5:54for both men and women. this yin energy
- 5:56within us. We're able to connect more
- 5:59with that in those moments, feel
- 6:01connected to potentially a higher power.
- 6:04If you were kind of getting away from
- 6:06your religion or your spirituality or
- 6:09connection with nature, that is where
- 6:11that happens. And the problem with that
- 6:14as well is I felt like I was going
- 6:18nowhere honestly, like I was just like
- 6:21floating. And that's because there is
- 6:24value to routine. There is a value and
- 6:29importance of having some sort of
- 6:32structure. So a friend of mine, Kayla
- 6:34Rose, she has this a podcast called
- 6:36Skinny Dipping. Absolutely love it.
- 6:38Literally one of the only shows I still
- 6:40listen to as I am a podcaster myself and
- 6:43I feel like sometimes I don't always
- 6:44want to be in the podcast world
- 6:46constantly. But one of the things she
- 6:48shared that was really a good analogy
- 6:51for what I'm trying to say of this
- 6:53balance is the hard life is the rocks in
- 6:57the stream and the soft life is the
- 6:59water. The soft life has a lot of
- 7:02creativity, a lot of brainstorming.
- 7:04Everything's everywhere. But without the
- 7:06rocks, they can't go in a direction that
- 7:09gives us success on this earth. Like at
- 7:12the end of the day, we diss our ego. We
- 7:15get frustrated with like the things in
- 7:18our society. But if we want to put
- 7:21ourselves in a position where we can
- 7:22stay ahead in society, we need to honor
- 7:25it alongside
- 7:27the deeper spiritual connections that we
- 7:31might have in that soft life and the
- 7:33intuitive connection. So with that
- 7:35balance is a neverending process, right?
- 7:37Like you'll learn, oh maybe I should put
- 7:39a rock here. Oh, I'm running out of
- 7:42stream. like the flow is really weak.
- 7:45Maybe I need to focus a little bit more
- 7:46on my creativity, my spirituality
- 7:50turning inward and balancing that this
- 7:54flow is not going out of control. It's
- 7:57okay if you feel like you're on one side
- 7:59more than the other. That is natural.
- 8:01Like we're going to just like sway like
- 8:04this. I just thought of like song sway
- 8:06by Casey Musgra. Sometimes we're going
- 8:08to like go a little bit more to the soft
- 8:10life and then sometimes we're going to
- 8:12be a little bit more to the hard life
- 8:13and slowly we're going to like find this
- 8:16balance that works with us really really
- 8:19well and that balance I'll go into the
- 8:21next thing. The second thing is balance
- 8:23looks different for everybody. So that
- 8:26balance of that sway and like figuring
- 8:28it out. it might be in a certain, you
- 8:31know, of that spectrum that works
- 8:33perfectly with you. Whereas some people
- 8:35need to be a little bit more on the soft
- 8:37life than they are the hard life. And
- 8:40that is their balance. And I think a
- 8:43perfect example of this is like I'm not
- 8:45I would not say that I am like a morning
- 8:49person, but I do like mornings. My
- 8:51chronotype says that I'm like an early
- 8:54evening gal. So, I think that just means
- 8:57I go to bed not too late, but I also
- 9:00don't wake up too early. I go to bed
- 9:03around like 10ish, 10 to 11. I'll wake
- 9:07up between like it depends on the
- 9:10season, but right now I'm waking up
- 9:12around 8 8:30. I don't think that means
- 9:16that I'm not cut out to be super
- 9:17successful cuz I'm not waking up at 5:00
- 9:19a.m. or 6:00 a.m. Like, I really feel
- 9:22like you need to understand what your
- 9:23balance is. Some people will wake up at
- 9:275:00 a.m. and that is the best time for
- 9:30them to wake up. Like they are their
- 9:32best selves the whole rest of the day
- 9:34with a lot of creative energy with a lot
- 9:36of vigor. I'm not like that, you know?
- 9:39Like they get tired and they want to go
- 9:40to bed at like 9:00. I'm not like that.
- 9:43Some people don't need as much sleep.
- 9:45They need less sleep. I know like my
- 9:48happy number is 9 hours. So, I think
- 9:50it's just through trial and error,
- 9:54you're going to understand what works
- 9:55for you. And I really feel like it's to
- 9:58discourage you from adopting other
- 10:00people's routines. Cuz what you'll see
- 10:02with trying to stay on track, trying to
- 10:04get on track, you might see a lot of
- 10:05people creating all these like routines
- 10:08that they must follow. And if they don't
- 10:10follow it, then they're not going to
- 10:12succeed. You have to build those
- 10:14routines for yourself, and you have to
- 10:15be unapologetic of how they might be
- 10:18different. So, like you might not wake
- 10:20up at 6:00 a.m. You might wake up at
- 10:228:00 a.m. And that's okay. You might
- 10:24have more inspiration to get creative at
- 10:279 10:00 at night versus 9 or 10:00 in
- 10:32the morning. And that's okay. That
- 10:33doesn't mean that you're falling behind
- 10:35and another person is more ahead. It
- 10:38just is that you guys are different. So,
- 10:41that's another thing. That's the second
- 10:42point of balance looks different from
- 10:44everyone and it really will relate to
- 10:48your personality, your chronoype, your
- 10:51biology, your values, the culture. So
- 10:56just honor the fact that we're all
- 10:58different and that way you can find your
- 11:00little balance there. Since we spoke
- 11:01about sleep, let's go on to that one as
- 11:03well. Although balance can look like
- 11:05different than anyone and you can sleep
- 11:07at different times. Making sure that
- 11:09sleep is a priority is the foundation
- 11:13with sleep. That's when you are
- 11:15restoring your muscles so that you can
- 11:18show up to your workout the next day
- 11:20properly. You're restoring your brain so
- 11:22that you can be creative the next day.
- 11:25You're restoring your immune system so
- 11:27you don't get sick and have it be like a
- 11:30a fast halt with your momentum. you're
- 11:33able to stay healthy, to be able to move
- 11:36through life at a great pace for you to
- 11:39get things done. Sleep is the
- 11:42foundation. This is like kind of my
- 11:44story with sleep. In university, I
- 11:47didn't prioritize sleep at all. I
- 11:50thought, you know, like I'm just going
- 11:52to get the bare minimum, get through my
- 11:54day, whatever. And that's not too
- 11:56uncommon to like so many of my peers at
- 11:59that time. Like a lot of us were only
- 12:00getting like 5 hours of sleep a night
- 12:02because like we had a lot of work to do.
- 12:04I was in a science degree. It was tough.
- 12:06I had to study a lot and sometimes I
- 12:09wanted to have fun and I stayed out a
- 12:12little bit later but I needed to wake up
- 12:14early the next day to study. And so I
- 12:16really wasn't prioritizing too much
- 12:19sleep. And there reached a point when it
- 12:22I was in my third year and I had to stay
- 12:25up to finish this like 30page report on
- 12:29a I think it was botney like it was a
- 12:31plant thing and I stayed up all night
- 12:35was delirious. I was literally like I
- 12:38felt high because I stayed up all night
- 12:40and that was the only time I ever pulled
- 12:43an allnighter and barely slept. I tried
- 12:45to let you sleep a couple hour hours the
- 12:47next day, but I just you kind of like
- 12:49ruin your circadium rhythm a little bit.
- 12:51But that was one time otherwise like I
- 12:54just didn't really prioritize it that
- 12:55much. And that was the year of 2020. We
- 13:01all know what happened in 2020. Co
- 13:03happened, right? And I remember getting
- 13:07sick and truly feeling like I'm laughing
- 13:11right now, but like cuz some people did
- 13:13pass away. I thought I was going to die.
- 13:15I had this really bad pneumonia. I could
- 13:19barely breathe. I was sick for 3 weeks,
- 13:22like bedridden. And I finally went to
- 13:25like an X-ray and they were like, "Yeah,
- 13:26you have some fluid in your lungs." I
- 13:28remember seeing on the wall of walking
- 13:30to this walk-in clinic being like, you
- 13:32know, if you have a fever, you think you
- 13:35have like COVID 19, like please don't
- 13:37come in here. And I'm like, what even is
- 13:39this? Like, I don't even know what COVID
- 13:4119 is. I just like feel like I have
- 13:42pneumonia. We didn't even have testers
- 13:44at that point for CO of like how to test
- 13:47whether or not you had it. I would say
- 13:50eight months later, like the whole
- 13:52course of those eight months, I was
- 13:54coughing every single day. We won't get
- 13:58into it, but I was not healthy. And I
- 14:02didn't really put two and two together
- 14:04that this was CO. Actually my school was
- 14:06the first documented in Ontario of
- 14:09having COVID because of a mining
- 14:12conference and I was like going to
- 14:14school so I think like we might have had
- 14:16like some of the first cases there when
- 14:18it comes to like universities. So I had
- 14:21co at that time something though that I
- 14:24didn't know like I didn't know that
- 14:25until later and the thing that I said oh
- 14:29this is why this happened was because of
- 14:31my sleep schedule. I started feeling
- 14:34like anxious after that time when I got
- 14:38really sick if I was not getting enough
- 14:40sleep for years. Like only until
- 14:43recently. It's 2026 right now. Only like
- 14:46the last few months have I been like
- 14:48it's okay if I didn't get enough sleep.
- 14:50Like I'll be okay. But I would be
- 14:52anxious if I didn't have enough sleep.
- 14:54like nothing was going to make me lose
- 14:59sleep anymore cuz I did not want to get
- 15:02sick like that again. I literally did
- 15:04not think I was going to make it.
- 15:05Anyway, I'm like going back into that
- 15:08memory and it was not fun. I think to a
- 15:10certain uh a point I was a bit extreme
- 15:13afterwards with like I need to make sure
- 15:15I get this amount of sleep otherwise I'm
- 15:17not going to make it. And one of the
- 15:19things that I really overlooked was
- 15:21quality of sleep. So what that means is
- 15:24like the amount of sleep is something
- 15:26right like on average men don't need as
- 15:30much as women. Men could do it like 7 8
- 15:33women are more like 9 to 10. That
- 15:37supports their hormone systems. But the
- 15:39quality means just as much. Like if you
- 15:42are not getting quality sleep then you
- 15:45still might feel tired and you also
- 15:48might be prone to sickness. You might be
- 15:50prone to brain fog. you might be prone
- 15:52to some hormonal disruptions if the
- 15:54quality of sleep is not good. And one of
- 15:56the things that promotes good quality
- 15:58sleep and restorative sleep is staying
- 16:01on a proper circadium rhythm. Like not
- 16:04doing what I did in university where I
- 16:06would like, okay, I would stay up till
- 16:082:00 a.m. one night and then I would go
- 16:10to bed at 9:00 p.m. and then I would go
- 16:12to bed at like 12 and then I would go to
- 16:14bed at like 10:00. Like it was all over
- 16:17the place. And because of that, my
- 16:19circadium rhythm absolutely just didn't
- 16:22exist. Now I really try and stay within
- 16:25like a twohour buffer range, even on the
- 16:28weekends if I go out like to not stay up
- 16:322 hours later than I normally would and
- 16:35sleep in 2 hours later than I normally
- 16:37would. Like I try to stay within a
- 16:40certain time range so that my body is
- 16:44getting used to like the clock that I'm
- 16:46trying to condition it for. To be
- 16:48honest, I know some of you might think,
- 16:50"Oh, I'm young. I don't need to worry
- 16:51about it." But like I was at my
- 16:54healthiest before this moment when I got
- 16:56sick. I really well I thought I was
- 16:58right. Like I was functioning well. I
- 17:01was doing well and then it hit me. And
- 17:04what happens when you get sick? You're
- 17:06not getting restorative sleep. So then
- 17:08you throw your back out or you hurt a
- 17:11muscle or you feel like you can't run as
- 17:14much or you're having brain fog. You're
- 17:16not as efficient at your work. You're
- 17:18not as creative. You're not going to
- 17:20have the motivation to stay ahead at
- 17:23all. Your health needs to be the
- 17:26foundation so that your body is
- 17:28functioning properly so that you're able
- 17:30to keep up with that vigor. You're able
- 17:32to have that creative energy to be able
- 17:34to get things done. without that it
- 17:37won't happen. I know people around my
- 17:39age that disagree with me and then I
- 17:42hear how many times they get sick. I
- 17:44hear how many times they lose momentum.
- 17:47I hear how many times they feel anxious
- 17:49and depressed because when you don't
- 17:51have enough sleep, it affects with your
- 17:52hormones but affects your
- 17:54neurotransmitters which affects your
- 17:56mood and then you're not able to stay in
- 17:58a good mood either to continue forward.
- 18:02So sleep really needs to be the
- 18:04foundation there. It's completely
- 18:06overlooked when it comes to strategy is
- 18:08about like hustling and playing and
- 18:10rest. Like sleep needs to be at the
- 18:12core. And the next thing cuz we're kind
- 18:15of tying it into some circadium rhythms.
- 18:18My sleep does change based on the
- 18:20seasons because in the winter time it's
- 18:23dark at 4:30. In the summertime it's
- 18:26dark at 9:30. So sometimes I feel like
- 18:29maybe I don't need as much sleep in the
- 18:31summertime than I do the winter time.
- 18:33And I listen to my body. All of these
- 18:35are tying together. I listen to my
- 18:37balance. Sleep being the foundation
- 18:39there. And then tying into seasons of
- 18:43how seasons can really influence our
- 18:46routines. I wrote this guide align your
- 18:48life with the seasons a couple years
- 18:50ago. It was completely inspired by my
- 18:52grandmother who's Norwegian. I went to
- 18:54Norway in 2023 and seeing how people
- 18:59lived there really did something for me.
- 19:02And this is beyond the fact that I am
- 19:04Norwegian and I felt really connected to
- 19:05being there and being like, "Oh my gosh,
- 19:07it's so great to like see people who are
- 19:10living where like some of my ancestors
- 19:12were born. Like that's so cool." I also
- 19:15think like one of the reasons why I'm
- 19:18just fascinated about Scandinavia in
- 19:20general in Finland as well because they
- 19:23have some of the happiest people, some
- 19:25of the most educated people, smartest,
- 19:27like kindest people and they really do
- 19:31honor their body as well as nature. They
- 19:35care about nature a hell of a lot more
- 19:38than anywhere else in this western side.
- 19:40I had to think, could it be something?
- 19:42could there be something there? And then
- 19:44the more that I was like sitting with
- 19:46this idea and meditating about this idea
- 19:48because if I'm being all honest like a
- 19:51lot of this comes from like me sitting
- 19:53and meditating and like what does this
- 19:56mean? How can I build upon this idea?
- 19:59When I started looking at nature and
- 20:02being like, "Oh, this happens. Could
- 20:05this be why I feel like this? Oh, could
- 20:08that be in the springtime when like
- 20:11things are starting to blooming? I feel
- 20:13this energy and I just kind of like deep
- 20:16dove into writing this entire report,
- 20:20like this entire workbook for myself
- 20:23first. I wanted to learn how can I do
- 20:25this for myself? And the first year I
- 20:28dabbled a little bit into it and I was
- 20:30like, "Oh, this is kind of interesting."
- 20:31thing and I I did have it on my website
- 20:33and it wasn't until the start of 2026
- 20:37where I'm like I'm going to really honor
- 20:40this idea and I tweaked it and I
- 20:42starting to live it and share it with
- 20:44you guys because I'm doing this. I feel
- 20:48so supported in every stage and the
- 20:51hustling stage and the rest stage and
- 20:53the play stage because we are nature. I
- 20:56keep telling people like why do we feel
- 20:58like we're not influenced by what's
- 21:00happening in nature when we are nature
- 21:03like we are nature. We started living
- 21:07out there not in homes not in these big
- 21:10glorious boxes like we started out
- 21:12there. We didn't start living by the
- 21:16Gregorian calendar. We would wake up
- 21:17when the sun came up. We'd go to bed
- 21:19when the sun came down. We would eat
- 21:22differently in the winter. We would have
- 21:24less energy. We do other things in the
- 21:26winter, sleep more than we would do in
- 21:28the spring and summer when there was
- 21:29more opportunity to find more food and
- 21:33go explore. Like that is how we started
- 21:37living. And somewhere along the way, we
- 21:41stopped doing that and we started living
- 21:43for politicians and taxes. That's what
- 21:46the Gregorian calendar's purpose is. No
- 21:48wonder we feel so disconnected from
- 21:51ourselves, creativity, spirit, nature,
- 21:55because nothing to do with our systems
- 21:57align with that. Even though some of us
- 21:59might be highly ambitious and we have
- 22:01all these ideas, what I found is we're
- 22:05not as efficient as we can be if we
- 22:08don't plan with what's happening out
- 22:10there. Like it we can use that as this
- 22:13like res resource to replenish our
- 22:16creative energy and our mental energy to
- 22:18keep going. And this is not like just
- 22:20like woo woo spiritual like they emanate
- 22:23energies out there. There's like actual
- 22:26vibrations that we our body feels and
- 22:29the very last thing cuz we haven't
- 22:31really spoken about play too much and
- 22:33it's because I have a reason here. One
- 22:35of my mentors Gary Wear is all about
- 22:38play. all about play specifically in the
- 22:41workplace in corporate world. He is a
- 22:44facilitator where he goes and helps
- 22:47teams create better bonding strategies
- 22:51and all of this is through like playful
- 22:53tactics because play makes work work. I
- 22:57mentioned earlier in this podcast
- 22:59episode about how I've always kind of
- 23:00felt like I'm super serious and that
- 23:03really didn't help me in the long run. I
- 23:06think when I was too serious, I missed
- 23:09out on some of the beauties in life, in
- 23:11others, in nature, in art, and all of
- 23:15that can be used as inspiration for what
- 23:18I want to do and who I want to be. And
- 23:21when I'm so serious, then everything
- 23:23around me feels pretty bland cuz I'm not
- 23:28really opening up to seeing that beauty.
- 23:31And I recognize I'm like still not as
- 23:34playful as I would like to be because
- 23:36it's been like so much of my
- 23:38conditioning to be like serious and put
- 23:40together and you know all that. And I
- 23:43love working with Gary because he is so
- 23:45goofy in a way that is not frivolous in
- 23:48a way that is like this is how we should
- 23:51be living. No wonder this is what works.
- 23:54He teaches me so much about the mess
- 23:58breaks, micro breaks, macro brakes. rest
- 24:01alongside being playful. One of the
- 24:03things that I feel like is really cool
- 24:05to know is learning about your play
- 24:07personality. So, there are like nine
- 24:09different types of play personalities.
- 24:11I'll put like a little article that Gary
- 24:14put up on his website and one of them
- 24:17that I definitely feel about myself is
- 24:20like an explorer and creative. Like
- 24:22those are the types of things that are
- 24:24part of my play personality. And why
- 24:26does that matter? Because when you know
- 24:28about your play personality, you know
- 24:32what are the kind of shortcuts on how to
- 24:35reconnect with the creative energy again
- 24:38to connect back with creative energy.
- 24:40This is not just to do creative
- 24:42endeavors. This is life's energy. This
- 24:44is like excitement for being here on
- 24:46this planet. That is what it's doing.
- 24:49How to shortcut into it? Understand your
- 24:51play personality. Some people are
- 24:53collectors. Some people are jokesters.
- 24:56Some people love movement. I have a
- 24:58friend of mine who recently got into
- 25:00dance. I'm not sure if she did it when
- 25:02she was younger or not. Maybe. But she's
- 25:05like doing these dance classes again and
- 25:08she's like, I feel like I'm like love
- 25:11life again. And it's no wonder. Does it
- 25:13mean you got to go do a dance class and
- 25:15that's going to be the missing puzzle
- 25:17piece for like your love for life? Maybe
- 25:19not. Like for me, I think what I
- 25:22absolutely need to do more than anything
- 25:26is travel. Like exploration is upwards
- 25:30on being one of the most important
- 25:32things in my life. Like when I was
- 25:34freshly 18 years old, I went and got a
- 25:37tattoo on my foot saying Wonderlust.
- 25:39Like one of those Pinterest basic ones,
- 25:41but I was like, "No, no, no. Like I'm
- 25:43going to travel the world." So like
- 25:46you're laughing now and then talk to me
- 25:48when I'm 60 years old with that fad and
- 25:50being like I travel the world. I learned
- 25:52that traveling for me replenishes my
- 25:55creative energy so so much. I feel
- 25:58inspired about life when I travel and I
- 26:01get out and experience something new.
- 26:03Like I need need that for sure. There's
- 26:06also the connector. I'm trying to do it
- 26:08off the top of my head. There's a
- 26:10connector that feels excited about life
- 26:12when they're connecting people together.
- 26:14So they'll host like a lot of uh parties
- 26:16or like dinners etc because they feel
- 26:20excited about life and it gives them
- 26:22this momentum through life when they're
- 26:24like gathering people at at a dinner
- 26:26table or their friends or their family.
- 26:28So, I do encourage you to understand
- 26:30more about your play personality because
- 26:33without really honing into some of those
- 26:37gifts that we're all blessed with, then
- 26:40we're not able to like help us keep this
- 26:43momentum. Cuz the whole thing about like
- 26:45working, resting, playing, they are one
- 26:48and the same. They work hand in hand,
- 26:51right? Like if we had all this like
- 26:53playful energy and creative energy and
- 26:56we had all these ideas, that's like the
- 26:57water in the stream. Too much of it will
- 27:00be overflowing. It's going in all these
- 27:02different places. It's wasted energy. So
- 27:05that's why this work aspect, this
- 27:07hustling will allow us to hone in on
- 27:10what that creative energy can be and
- 27:12make something of it. And then of course
- 27:15rest is needed. Just like in nature when
- 27:17things go to sleep at night, animals go
- 27:20to bed at night, rest is so important so
- 27:23that we are honoring ourselves and
- 27:25everything we did that day and then show
- 27:27up the next day and doing it all over
- 27:29again with love, with fun, like with it
- 27:32being fun and exciting. Some of you
- 27:34might have clicked on this and was like,
- 27:36"These are five things going to like let
- 27:38me get ahead and make a lot of money."
- 27:40This could help you make a lot of money.
- 27:42This could help you find the career path
- 27:44that you want. I'm just giving different
- 27:46ideas that are not what you will find on
- 27:49ChachiBT. Like these are things that are
- 27:52unique, you know, understanding that
- 27:54going on Instagram and looking at what a
- 27:56creator is going to do for their workout
- 27:58routine or morning routine or night
- 28:00routine might not align with you cuz you
- 28:03have to create your balance.
- 28:04Understanding that sometimes when you
- 28:06are working really hard in the winter
- 28:08time and trying to grind is completely
- 28:10against what nature is trying to tell
- 28:12you to do. So, no wonder you feel burnt
- 28:14out by spring. No wonder you feel unsure
- 28:17about yourself and where you're going on
- 28:19like about in the summertime because you
- 28:22decided to take action when the energy
- 28:25out there is not align not in alignment
- 28:29with it. So, you're all on your own
- 28:30there. You don't have a lot of support.
- 28:33If you're not honoring sleep, good
- 28:35quality sleep with a good amount, then
- 28:37maybe you're going to be faced with a
- 28:39lot of times throughout the year where
- 28:41you are sick or you're not feeling your
- 28:43best mentally, physically, emotionally.
- 28:46And that is going to halt you because
- 28:48maybe these thoughts of, "Oh, I'm not
- 28:50enough. What am I doing? I should try
- 28:52and find another job. I should try and
- 28:54I'll do this." And feeling really down.
- 28:57Not that it could just be only for the
- 28:59reason of lack of sleep, but that
- 29:01doesn't help. that doesn't help you gain
- 29:03clarity. Also recognizing that because
- 29:05we're human and because sometimes we
- 29:08need to learn the hard way, there will
- 29:10be phases in our life when we are
- 29:14experiencing or we're in the middle of
- 29:16an extreme. We're not in that balance.
- 29:18But that extreme is for purpose. It's to
- 29:21teach us a lesson. It's to allow us to
- 29:23know what balance would actually feel
- 29:26like because we know not to go too far
- 29:29in this direction than this direction.
- 29:31And lastly, understanding that we're all
- 29:34gifted this inert desire to be playful.
- 29:38Like our inner childs let us be
- 29:41creative. Our inner childs are the ones
- 29:44if you're feeling a creative block.
- 29:46They're like pissed off cuz they're like
- 29:48we're not having fun here. This is not
- 29:50what I signed up for. So understand your
- 29:52play personality. Follow Gary Wear.
- 29:54understand how you can shortcut this
- 29:59back into creative energy back into
- 30:01staying ahead by honing in your play
- 30:05personality. Whether you're an explorer,
- 30:07you're a creator, you're a storyteller,
- 30:10you're a connector, you're a jokester,
- 30:12whatever. That will allow you to be in
- 30:16this like light energy again, this fun
- 30:19energy. I hope you guys enjoyed this and
- 30:22it gave you some insight. Please let me
- 30:24know in the comments things that you
- 30:25learned, things that you would like to
- 30:27focus on because of what I've shared. I
- 30:29would love to know your thoughts. I'll
- 30:30see you next week. Bye.
