- 0:00So hello guys. So for today um I'm going
- 0:02to show you or share with you some tips
- 0:05on how to pass uh the basic roof exam.
- 0:08So let's start. Uh guys take note when
- 0:12working on the training exam always
- 0:14check what is um inscribed on the
- 0:16banner. Okay? So you we only need to fix
- 0:19for this one. So it says so actually
- 0:22this is the first task. So all we need
- 0:24to do is to capture structures within
- 0:26the mask. So if we check this out, if we
- 0:29check
- 0:31uh this one, the box, uh it will show us
- 0:34the missing two buildings. So we need to
- 0:36capture these two missing buildings.
- 0:38Okay. And the rest uh we can ignore uh
- 0:42them. Okay. So let's capture this one.
- 0:44So guys uh short um introduction on the
- 0:48roof project. Our goal is to capture the
- 0:51roof surface itself. So the base it does
- 0:54not matter if we have multiple base as
- 0:56long that we capture the uh the roof
- 0:58properly. So the right image I'm sorry
- 1:02the left image is for uh drawing. O so
- 1:06all drawing shall will be happening on
- 1:08this uh uh part of uh our view. The
- 1:12right is for matching. Okay. So, we have
- 1:15multiple views uh when drawing we have
- 1:18multiple views. If you check this one.
- 1:21So, as you can see, we have multiple
- 1:22views. So, the purpose of this is to
- 1:24have is to give us a better chance to
- 1:26match and to um
- 1:29and captured up our image properly.
- 1:32Okay. So, we can adjust the view. And I
- 1:34suggest when choosing your views you
- 1:37select views that has um uh different
- 1:40orientation. So for example like this
- 1:42one. Okay. So this is our target
- 1:45building and we can select other views
- 1:48or avoid using views such as this one uh
- 1:52top center view. So we should avoid
- 1:54using that kind of you guys. Okay. So
- 1:57again use this one the blue the blue
- 1:59corner it represents um
- 2:02our border or our left our left uh image
- 2:06and the red is for our right. So if you
- 2:08want to to change our right just select
- 2:11an image and then press right click okay
- 2:14to change your image. As you can see it
- 2:16change. So but for this one I it's crop
- 2:20so we need to check we need to find
- 2:23other views.
- 2:25So we can supply this one. So I think
- 2:28this should be good enough. Next is
- 2:30drawing. Okay? When drawing guys do not
- 2:32use S tool never never use S tool. Okay.
- 2:36So we need to have a parallel base. So
- 2:38we will use either F
- 2:44or we can use E. like so. Okay. And then
- 2:50we can just adjust using X like so.
- 2:55So after we have done tracing the base
- 2:59guys it needs to be precise. Okay? So
- 3:01small errors on your base can have big
- 3:04consequences on your panels later. So it
- 3:06needs to be precise. Next is for
- 3:08matching. When matching you just drag it
- 3:11to its proper location like so
- 3:16adjust
- 3:18and
- 3:22this should be good enough. Next is to
- 3:24drag the wall. Guys, when dragging your
- 3:26wall, it also needs to be precise. So
- 3:29you can drag it on the left, you can
- 3:30drag it on the right panel. It does not
- 3:32matter as long drag the wall properly.
- 3:35Okay. So it needs to be precise. So
- 3:37after we have done our base, we captured
- 3:39the ridge. What is a ridge? So these are
- 3:41ridges.
- 3:43This one. So
- 3:46this will serve as an anchor point for
- 3:48all of our panels. So how to capture the
- 3:50ridge? We will use the assist line. So
- 3:52press nine
- 3:54and then like so copy the direction.
- 3:59Wait for it to highlight
- 4:03again and then just face and then just
- 4:08drag. So what is the assist line? What
- 4:09is the use of an assist line? So it is
- 4:12an imaginary line. It will serve as an
- 4:14anchor point for all of our panels
- 4:15because if we do not have an assist line
- 4:17we cannot draw it directly. Okay? So as
- 4:19you can see it snaps to the uh it snaps
- 4:23to the assist line. So when drawing your
- 4:26panels you need to use S tool. Okay. So
- 4:28you cannot draw here. All drawings will
- 4:31be happening on the left area. So draw
- 4:34it like so.
- 4:39See? So, and then for this one, we need
- 4:43to add another assist line here. So, we
- 4:45cannot just draw it like that. So, it's
- 4:47better to add an assist line. Again, it
- 4:49will serve as a guide for us
- 4:53so that we will have a uniform or a
- 4:56parallel line.
- 4:58So, okay. So, let's check. I think it is
- 5:02correct.
- 5:03Let's check 3D mode. So for 3D mode
- 5:05guys, just hold your center mouse. Press
- 5:08W and hold your center mouse and then
- 5:10just rotate. Okay? Like so. And then to
- 5:13to this set press O. Okay. So as you can
- 5:17see it is red. So what does red mean? It
- 5:19means that this panel is still open. So
- 5:22if we check our mask, see it's still
- 5:23open. So we will close that later. So
- 5:26all panels that have read uh all
- 5:28buildings that have red panels on them,
- 5:31it is wrong. So we need to close every
- 5:34panel. Okay. So do not submit a task the
- 5:36task red panels on that. So for this one
- 5:39we will draw.
- 5:41Okay. So it's purple. What does purple
- 5:43mean? Purple it means that the panel is
- 5:46not parallel with your wall. So it needs
- 5:48to be parallel with your wall. So we we
- 5:50can just fix that later on. So first we
- 5:52need to capture this panel. Okay. So as
- 5:54you can see this panel is connected to
- 5:56this one. So we will just use the assist
- 5:58line. Press nine.
- 6:01Wait for it to highlight. Like so it the
- 6:03highlight it means it's connected to
- 6:04this panel. Then copy the direction.
- 6:09So it's a bit off again. So as you can
- 6:13see it's already adjusted since we have
- 6:15connected to this panel. So we do not
- 6:17need to use we do not need to adjust it
- 6:19anymore.
- 6:21Again guys take note your panel URC line
- 6:24is unlimited. So
- 6:27okay so for this one I cannot seem to
- 6:29you can just drag it to its proper.
- 6:32Let's see. Okay. So the broken lines
- 6:35guys it means it's inserted. So we can
- 6:37just fix that later. Okay. It's inserted
- 6:40to this panel. So no worries.
- 6:45Draw.
- 6:47So as you can see it's broken. Okay
- 6:49broken lines. It means the lines might
- 6:51be uh on the back or it is inserted. If
- 6:55you check the 3D view it is inserted. So
- 6:58this is wrong. This is still wrong. We
- 6:59will just fix that later. Okay. Next is
- 7:02to capture this one this panel
- 7:05like so.
- 7:06And then we need to close.
- 7:09And lastly we will group. So to group
- 7:12select one panel and then press four. So
- 7:15again
- 7:16select one panel press and then press J.
- 7:20So if you group a building it will it
- 7:22will automatically disappeared. So for
- 7:24it to reappear just press J. Okay? So
- 7:27again group and then we will use the
- 7:29autofix function. So the autofix will uh
- 7:32remove this red and then fix this um
- 7:34purple. So hopefully it will fix this to
- 7:38but it does uh it is not 100% guarantee
- 7:42that it will fix the building. Okay. So
- 7:46let's try to fix this. Press 4 and then
- 7:49press F4. F4 is for auto fix. So let's
- 7:52try.
- 7:55Okay. So as you can see the purple panel
- 7:58panels disappeared. So it means that our
- 8:01um our panels is already aligned with
- 8:06our base. Okay. So let's remove the
- 8:09extra purple blue panels
- 8:12seas line and then let's capture this
- 8:14one. So to capture this one um let's
- 8:17adjust adjust again use your right image
- 8:20as reference for your drawing. So let's
- 8:23see other views. So from time to time
- 8:26guys check other views. Okay? Don't
- 8:28stick with one view.
- 8:32Check this one. Let's see if it's
- 8:34correct.
- 8:36Okay. So I think it's correct. Let's
- 8:38check one more.
- 8:41Always rotate views from time to time.
- 8:45So it's a standard for us to select
- 8:47other views from time to time.
- 8:50So let's check this one.
- 8:53Okay. So it's correct. Next is we need
- 8:55to capture this one. So use an assist
- 8:58line. Make sure it highlights like so.
- 9:01So again if it highlights it means it's
- 9:03connected to this area right here.
- 9:09Adjust like so. So we can let's extend
- 9:13our line a little bit more. So it does
- 9:15not matter if it's extended, no? So we
- 9:18can just use the autofix later for that
- 9:21area. So capture it like so.
- 9:29and use the and I mean close. So again
- 9:34we will group select group and then
- 9:36press 4. Ah sorry F4
- 9:46and it would it should look like this.
- 9:48And lastly we need to capture the
- 9:51corner. So what are corners? These are
- 9:53corners guys. So it is the gap between
- 9:56the wall and the groove and the roof
- 9:58itself. So
- 10:01normally a roof will have a space okay
- 10:03for uh for that so that rain water won't
- 10:06hit the walls directly. Okay? So they
- 10:09will have a small gap. So that will be
- 10:11our corner that we that will be the area
- 10:13we will uh where we will place our
- 10:15corner. Okay. So
- 10:18when placing corners guys I suggest you
- 10:21pick views that similar orientation.
- 10:25So first we need to put the assist line
- 10:27here. So
- 10:32okay so we have okay again so for the
- 10:36first line it should be I view of the of
- 10:39the what do you call this? Of the corner
- 10:41and then for the for the right it will
- 10:43be the actual location. We need to
- 10:45insert this one to the inside of the
- 10:48actual uh corner. As you can see um my
- 10:52line is inserted. Okay, my assistant is
- 10:54inserted. So
- 10:57just adjust you will place you will or
- 11:00you will adjust your um assist line to
- 11:02the actual location of the panel of the
- 11:05of the corner. So again, so for this one
- 11:10just the outside or
- 11:12viiew and then actual location insert
- 11:15like so and then press I to capture the
- 11:19corner. So press I see and then draw it
- 11:24like so.
- 11:26And we have our corner. If you check on
- 11:283D view it is inserted. So all corners
- 11:30should be inserted guys. So I have a
- 11:33corner guide for you to check. Just
- 11:35check our training materials and it
- 11:37should be there. Okay. And lastly, you
- 11:40do not forget to group
- 11:43uh and then plus press Alt R. So alt R
- 11:47it will open our uh final result. So
- 11:50same with our um transportation and our
- 11:52um uh center line we need to check the
- 11:55final resource of the building. So it
- 11:58should look like this. As you can see we
- 12:00cannot see the base below. So it does
- 12:02not matter if have multiple base. As
- 12:04long we capture the roof properly then
- 12:07we are good to go. Okay. So it should
- 12:11look like this. No red panels, no purple
- 12:13panels. And we have captured the corner.
- 12:16Okay. So guys, hope this helps and thank
- 12:18you for watching.
