0:00hi everyone welcome back I hope you're
0:02all well in today's video I'm going to
0:03be showing you how to make 3D beaded cat
0:08so this has been highly highly requested
0:11so I hope you enjoyed this video and I'm
0:13going to try and make it as easy to
0:15follow as possible it is quite complex I
0:18wouldn't say this is one for beginners
0:21you definitely need to have some
0:23experience in bead weaving for this one
0:27so to make a cat you're going to need
0:28some size 11 seed beads in orange or
0:32whatever color you want your cat to be
0:35um a couple black ones just for the
0:38eyes um a few white ones I do white at
0:43the ends of the paes and the tail but
0:45that's optional it depends what kind of
0:47cat you're trying to make of course and
0:49then just one pink bead for the
0:52nose and then you'll need some beading
0:55thread I'm using six PB fire line in
0:57Crystal because it holds the shape quite
0:59nicely
1:00you're going to need a lot of thread for
1:03this I tried to calculate as I went
1:05along how much so I could tell you how
1:07much you were going to need exactly but
1:10I kept having to add new pieces of
1:11thread and I was doing it different
1:13times it got
1:14confusing so basically I just start off
1:18with a piece of thread that I can work
1:20with and then add more thread as I go if
1:22I need to um and I do have a video about
1:25how to add more thread as you go and
1:27you'll need a beading needle as well I'm
1:30using a size 12 beading needle can't see
1:33it there it is and that's everything so
1:36let's get started okay so begin by
1:38threading your needle onto your thread
1:40and then you're going to pick up four of
1:41your orange beads slide those down onto
1:44your thread and then sew up through the
1:48first bead to create a circle of
1:52four like that now we're going to put
1:55one bead in between each of those so
1:57picking up one coming out here and going
2:00straight through the next
2:02one
2:05oops and picking up one now coming out
2:08here and going through the next
2:14one and picking up
2:17one coming out of here going down
2:19through the next one and one more time
2:22doing the same thing
2:24again picking up one now we're coming
2:27out of this bead go through the next one
2:30and the one
2:31above as
2:35well so we have this this time we're
2:39picking up groups of two so picking up
2:42two coming out of this
2:44one skip over one and go through the
2:47next
2:50one again picking up
2:52two skip over one through the next one
3:01picking up two skipping over one and
3:03through the next
3:06one and picking up
3:09two skip over one through the next one
3:13and up through the two
3:22above pull that nice and tight so you
3:24should be coming out of this group of
3:26two here on the side this time we're
3:28going to pick up one
3:31oops coming out of these two here we're
3:34going to skip one and go through the
3:36next two the two on the
3:40top and then picking up
3:43one coming out of here going to skip one
3:47and go through the two on the side down
3:55here and then picking up
3:57one now we're coming out here at the
4:00side going to skip one and go through
4:02these two across the
4:09bottom and finally for this row picking
4:12up one skipping over one going through
4:14the next two and up into the one above
4:17that's stepping up into the one
4:20above so we're ready to start the next
4:23row now pull that nice and tight and it
4:25should just curve up slightly like that
4:28this time we're doing groups of two two
4:29again so picking up
4:31two we coming out of here you're going
4:33to skip over two go through the next
4:39one again picking up
4:42two
4:44oops skipping over two and going through
4:47the next
4:51one pick up two skip over two through
4:54the next
4:57one pick up two
5:00skip over two through the next one and
5:04up through the one above not up through
5:06both this time just through that first
5:08one
5:10above so you should be coming out right
5:12down the center of one of those groups
5:14of two now pull it nice and
5:16tight and we have this okay so now we're
5:19going to increase to eight beads in a
5:22row
5:23so we're between that group of two
5:26picking up one you're going to go
5:28straight through the next one in that
5:29group of
5:30two so that bead's just going to pop
5:33right in the middle of those two and
5:35then you're going to pick up
5:38one this time skipping over one and
5:41going through the next one on the top
5:42row so you're between the next group of
5:49two so picking up one coming out of here
5:53and going straight through the next bead
6:00and then picking up
6:02one skipping over one and through the
6:05next
6:10one picking up
6:12one coming out here you're going to go
6:14straight through the next
6:20bead this time picking up one skipping
6:23over one and going through the next one
6:30picking up one and going straight down
6:32through the next
6:34bead and then finally for the eighth
6:37bead of the row picking up one skipping
6:40over one go through the next one and up
6:44into that one above as
6:47well so we're ready to do the next row
6:50pull that through and pull it nice and
6:52tight as
6:54always so we have this so now we're
6:57moving on to regular Peyote Stitch
6:59picking up eight beads in each row so
7:03picking up one skipping over one going
7:06through the next
7:09one picking up one skipping over one
7:12going through the next one that's
7:16two picking up one skipping over one
7:19going through the next
7:21one that's
7:24three picking up one skipping over one
7:27going through the next one that's four
7:29so go ahead and add four more beads in
7:31the same way I'll show you how to do the
7:33last one when we get around there so I'm
7:35just adding that final bead of the row
7:37so like always skipping over one going
7:40through the next one and then because it
7:42is the end of the row then you every
7:44time you must remember to step up into
7:47that one
7:48above so you're ready to do the next
7:53row pull it nice and
7:56tight and we have this
8:00so I'm going to show you again we're
8:01going to do another row exactly the same
8:03picking up eight beads in total every
8:06time picking up one skipping over one
8:08and going through the next one
8:15oops picking up one skipping over one
8:18going through the next
8:20one picking up one skipping over one
8:23going through the next one so that's
8:25three added so go ahead and add the five
8:28more in the same way in that last bead
8:30the eighth bead of the row do the same
8:32thing skip over one go through the next
8:34one and like always step up so it's
8:38really important that you remember to
8:39move up into the bead above so then
8:42you're in the position to start the next
8:46row pull that through and pull it nice
8:49and tight so we have this so now you
8:52need to do eight more rows doing the
8:54exact same thing and that's just going
8:56to keep gr like longer and longer and
9:00that we're creating this body part so
9:03eight more rows so in order to keep
9:06track of your rows I would suggest you
9:08put eight beads
9:09[Music]
9:13aside and at the start of every row you
9:17pick up your first bead from here so
9:20that once you've used all of those you
9:22know you've done your eight rows um and
9:24don't forget it's eight
9:26beads in each row so if you need to
9:28count aside eight beads each time as
9:30well if that helps um don't forget when
9:33you get to the end of each row to step
9:35up into the bead above so you're ready
9:37to start the new row um and yeah so go
9:41ahead and keep doing that for eight more
9:43rows and then I'll show you what to do
9:45next so when you've done that it should
9:47look a bit like this sorry about my
9:50creaking Chair by the way if you can
9:52hear that in the
9:54background so now we're going to
9:56decrease back down to four beads in a
9:59row
10:00so picking up
10:04one coming out of this bead here we're
10:06going to skip over one go through the
10:08next one skip over one and through the
10:10one after that so like that we're going
10:13through the next two on the top
10:20row picking up one and again skipping
10:25over one and through the next
10:28one and skipping over one and through
10:30the one after that so through the next
10:33two on the top
10:37row picking up one and do the same again
10:41through the next two on the top
10:47row and one more
10:51time picking up
10:53one skipping over one and through the
10:55next one skipping over one and through
10:58the next one and it's the last bead of
11:01the row so you also need to step up
11:05through the bead above as well pull that
11:08through this time you're going to pull
11:10that nice and tight and those places
11:13where we didn't add a bead are going to
11:15cinch together and it's going to
11:19make it start to close back in now we're
11:23going to be adding single beads so
11:26picking up one so you can kind of see
11:28you've got these four beads that we're
11:30working with now but if you can't see
11:32where they are for whatever reason
11:34you're going to pick up one skip two and
11:38through the one after that so whichever
11:39one that is for you so if it's not clear
11:43which of the four you're working with
11:45that's how you work it out picking up
11:48one skipping two and through the next
11:54one and doing that two more times
11:57picking up one skipping two through the
11:58next one
12:01one picking up one skip two through the
12:05next one and it's the last one in the
12:07row so up through the one above as
12:13well so we have this now all we need to
12:16do is circle through those last four
12:19beads that are sitting now here in this
12:21cross in the middle so just go through
12:23all four of those
12:25again it's going to bring them together
12:28so now now you should have
12:31this so now it's really important for
12:35this next part where we had add the face
12:38that we all start in the same position
12:41so right now you're coming out of this
12:43bead at the bottom so if you want to
12:45hold yours in this direction so you're
12:48coming out of the bead at the bottom
12:50that
12:51way you're going to move up
12:56diagonally through one bead
12:59so across and outwards through this bead
13:07here okay so now you're coming out of
13:09this bead so now I'm just going to turn
13:10that around to the top cuz this is where
13:12we're going to add the face so if we're
13:15looking at it like this
13:17now you've got your four beads here in
13:19the middle and then the four that go in
13:23between them and you're coming out of
13:24this one here at the
13:26top so from here you're going to pick up
13:29up a
13:30bead okay so we're coming out of this
13:32one we're going to go through this one
13:34that's like above
13:39diagonally in that
13:46direction just like that now picking up
13:51one we're coming out of
13:53here we're going to go through this bead
13:59above the one where we started so we
14:01started in this one going to go through
14:03this one above in sorry I to the camera
14:08that
14:15direction now picking up
14:18one we're coming out of this one here so
14:21now we're going through this one
14:23below in this direction
14:32make sure that sits
14:34nicely and
14:38finally picking up one and we're going
14:40to go back through that one where we
14:42first started right there so there's
14:44that group four and the one above it so
14:46go back through that
14:49one and what we've kind of kind of done
14:53is we forced like a right angle weave
14:56unit where the beads like this is a
14:59right angle weave unit here with the
15:01four beads sitting in a circle we've
15:03kind of forced that of the beads above
15:05even though they weren't sitting in that
15:07direction um so now we have this now you
15:10want to move up into that first bead
15:13that we
15:14added so from here you're going to pick
15:17up two of your orange beads and coming
15:20out of this one here we're going to go
15:22into that next one that we added at the
15:24top pull that through so they sit on the
15:28side then you're going to pick up two
15:30again this time coming out of this one
15:32skipping over one and going through the
15:34next one that we added on the
15:36top and then picking up
15:39two same thing again so we're coming out
15:43here and we're going to go through that
15:45next one that we've added on the top and
15:48finally picking up
15:50two coming out of here skipping the one
15:52and going through that last one which
15:54was the first one where we
15:56started and then moving up
16:00through the one above as well so we're
16:03coming out the middle of that group of
16:04two which we first added in that
16:09Row for this row you're going to start
16:11by picking up one orange and coming out
16:13of this one you're going to go straight
16:15through the bead next to it so that's
16:17going to pop right between that group of
16:19two next you're going to pick up another
16:22single orange bead this time skipping
16:25over one and going into the next one to
16:28place you between in the next group of
16:30two and then same again picking up one
16:33this time coming out here so you're
16:35going to go straight down through the
16:36next
16:45spead and then picking up an orange
16:48again skipping over one and going
16:51through the next
16:54one then picking up another orange and
16:57going straight down through the next
17:02speed again picking up another orange
17:05skipping over one and going through the
17:06next one and now this time you're going
17:08to pick up your pink bead for the nose
17:12and coming out of this one you're going
17:13to go straight through that next
17:18bead and then finishing the row with one
17:21orange so skipping over one going
17:24through the next one like always and
17:25this time stepping up into the bead
17:27above so you're ready to do the next row
17:30as well pull it nice and
17:33tight and you should have this okay so
17:37for the next row you're going to start
17:38with one orange
17:39beard coming out here you're just going
17:42to skip over one go through the next
17:45one same again picking up an orange
17:47skipping over one going through the next
17:55one again picking up another orange skip
17:58sking over one going through the next
18:03one and again another orange skip over
18:06one go through the next
18:10one and then again picking up another
18:12orange skipping over one going through
18:14the next one picking up an orange
18:17skipping over one and into that pink
18:21bead and another orange skip over one
18:23through the next one and then the final
18:25bead of the row same thing again picking
18:28up one orange
18:29skipping over one through the next one
18:32and then up into the one above as well
18:35so you're ready to do the next
18:37row so pull that through and then pull
18:41it nice and
18:44tight so you've got this so for this row
18:48you're going to start with one orange
18:50skip over one go through the next
18:53one and then another orange skip over
18:56one through the next one
19:00a third orange bead skip over one
19:02through the next
19:04one and another orange bead skip over
19:07one and through the next one then you're
19:09going to pick up one black bead for the
19:11first eye skipping over one and through
19:13the next
19:16one and then you're going to go back to
19:18another orange
19:20bead you're going to skip over the pink
19:23one this time and through the next
19:25orange
19:27bead and then you you're going to do
19:29your other eye so picking up a black
19:31skip over one through the next
19:34one and then an orange skip over one
19:37through the next one and up into the one
19:39above because it's the end of the row so
19:41pull that through and pull it nice and
19:43tight and then you have this so for this
19:47next row same thing again picking up one
19:50orange skip over one through the next
19:55one pick up one skip over one through
19:58the next next
19:59one so you're going to do that five more
20:02times five more orange beads just
20:03skipping over one through the next one
20:05and when you get to the end step
20:07up so then once you've stepped up and
20:10you're ready to start your next row
20:12you're going to pick up an orange and
20:13you're going to go through the next two
20:16beads on the top row like we did
20:19earlier so you're skipping over one and
20:22then skipping over another and going
20:24through the next two beads on the top
20:26row
20:28like
20:29that so we're decreasing back down to
20:32four beads now so again picking up
20:35another orange coming out here skipping
20:39over one through the next one skipping
20:40over the black and through the one after
20:42that as well so through the next two on
20:44the top
20:46row and do that two more times picking
20:49up one and going through the next two on
20:51the top
20:55row picking up one and going through
20:59the next two on the top row and then
21:02that's the last one in the row so once
21:05you've pulled that through then you need
21:06to move up into the bead
21:09above and then you can pull it nice and
21:11tight so that that closes up like that
21:15so now for this row you're going to pick
21:17up one and you're going to skip those
21:19two that cinch together and go through
21:20that next single bead in the
21:24middle and picking up one and through
21:27that next single bead
21:29and do that two more times picking up
21:31one skip the two that are cinched
21:32together and go through the next single
21:35bead and this last one same thing skip
21:39the two go through the next one and
21:42through the one after it as
21:48well so that you're right in the center
21:50and then you just want to Circle through
21:52all four of those beads in the middle to
21:55bring them together
22:00so we have this so right now we're
22:04coming out here at the top bead in that
22:07group of four so make sure you're coming
22:09out the same place out here so then
22:12you're going to pick up three orange
22:17beads and we're going to make the ear so
22:19coming out of here here's the eye Move
22:23Along you've got these two that are in a
22:25row stack together you're going to go
22:27through the one behind behind that so
22:30it's level with the eye just two beads
22:33across if you see what I
22:35mean go through that towards the face so
22:39you have this now go back up into the
22:42first bead of the
22:45ear and then you're going to skip that
22:47second bead on the top and go down
22:49through the third bead of the a making
22:51sure that that pops that second bead out
22:55to make it
22:57spiky and then going to go back through
23:00that bead where you started so the bead
23:02that your ear is already connected to so
23:05you have this so now from here there's
23:09that central circle of four again you're
23:11going to move across through the next
23:13one in that group of
23:14four and then we're going to add the
23:17next ear so picking up three
23:21again and then you need to find that
23:23same bead on the other side so find your
23:27eye the there and then you've got those
23:29two that are next to it and then you've
23:31got the single bead after it you're
23:32going to go through that
23:41bead and then we have this and then
23:44you're going to go back up into that
23:46first bead in the
23:47a skipping the second one and going down
23:50through the third one and also back
23:52through the bead that we started
23:56from pull that through make sure that
23:58here pops out into place so now you have
24:01this okay so we should be coming out
24:04here and you're just going to move up
24:08through one bead onto the top of the
24:10head and I'm turning it around so now
24:12you're coming out of this bead here and
24:13there's the central line that goes right
24:15down the back of the head so you're
24:17going to go across through that one
24:22underneath and back across again in a
24:24zigzag through the one at the bottom
24:28and now you're going to tilt your cat's
24:30head back to where you want it to sit so
24:32just because it's leaning like forward
24:35quite a bit just going to tilt it back
24:37and whichever bead on the back down the
24:39center of the
24:40back of your cat there's that line of
24:43beads that go all the way down the
24:44center so whichever bead it sits next to
24:47when you tilt it back you're going to go
24:49through that
24:52bead like that and then back into the
24:55one on the head and then Circle through
24:58that a few times pulling it nice and
25:01tight and that's just going to Anchor
25:04the head down a bit so it's not so
25:06floppy and it's sitting up in a better
25:10position okay now from that bead you're
25:13going to in the bead on the
25:15back you're going to
25:17move down zigzagging across through that
25:21row that's going straight down the back
25:23so just by going backwards and forwards
25:25like I am here all the way down until
25:28you come through there's a group of two
25:32together at the end of that row of
25:34single beads so from that group of two
25:37you're going to pick up another two
25:38orange beads and go back into that group
25:40of two but on the other side to create a
25:43circle then move up through the first
25:46bead so you have
25:49this now we're going to create the tail
25:51we're going to pick up two and go down
25:54through the one next to it
25:59so we have this and now you're going to
26:00go back up the other side through the
26:02top two
26:09beads
26:12oops and then picking up another
26:16two and going
26:18[Music]
26:19down through the top bead on the other
26:23side and then up through the top two
26:26beads on the other side to where we're
26:28coming out
26:32of pull that nice and
26:36tight so we have this now you're going
26:38to keep going doing that same thing so
26:41picking up
26:42two going down through the one on the
26:45other side to where your threads come in
26:48from and then back up through the top
26:50two rows on the other side
27:03so then you're going to keep going until
27:04you've got a total of seven rows so then
27:07it should look like this and then you're
27:09going to pick up two of your white
27:12beads go down through the top bead like
27:15the same as normal and up through the
27:18two on the other side and then we're
27:21going to finish it off with one white
27:22bead on the top so picking up one and
27:25this time you're going to take your
27:27needle under that thread that connects
27:29those two beads on the top together so
27:31take your needle under there pull that
27:34all the way through keeping your other
27:35thread pulled
27:36tight and then go up through that bead
27:39from bottom to
27:41top pull it down and make sure it
27:45tightens up against the rest of the
27:47beads and then you're going to move down
27:49all the way down to the bottom
27:59so we have this now to make the tail a
28:01bit more secure you're going to pick up
28:02one bead and along the back you had that
28:06row that went all the way down the
28:07center you want to go in that last
28:09single bead at the back right next to
28:11your tail go through that
28:16bead and then picking up another orange
28:19bead and going up into a few beads or
28:24just one bead in your tail
28:31so you have this now we're going to
28:33Anchor the back as well in the same kind
28:35of
28:36way so from here we're going to move
28:39down through one or however many to get
28:42to the bottom row of your tail basically
28:45then you're going to pick up one of your
28:46orange beads so we need to go into the
28:50bead that's diagonally
28:52above so we've got that group of four
28:54beads right there in the center and
28:56there's that one that's split between
28:58the first two if you see what I mean so
29:00just maybe pause it there and make sure
29:03you're going through the same
29:06one like that and then we need to move
29:09around from
29:11there
29:13through this one on the
29:18side across through the one on the
29:25bottom and then up through through the
29:28one on the other
29:33side and up into the one diagonally
29:36above that so we're on that same one but
29:38on the opposite side then you can pick
29:40up another orange and go straight up
29:43into your
29:51tail pull it nice and tight and that has
29:54secured it just so that it's just sits
29:56up a bit nicer
29:58so now move your thread back down to the
30:01bottom of the
30:04tail and down into the piece and then
30:07you've got that group of four right in
30:09the middle you want to be coming down
30:10through the side bead in that original
30:13group of four that's right in the middle
30:15so down through that bead there and then
30:17I'm going to turn it to the side and
30:19going to go up through the bead next to
30:21it so it's slightly lower the one just a
30:25little bit below and then we have this
30:27and then we're going to go down through
30:29the one next to that as
30:33well and this is where we're going to
30:35add our first
30:38leg so what we're going to do from here
30:40is pick up four of our orange
30:43beads and we're going to go back up into
30:46that bead next to the one that we're
30:47coming out of back towards the
30:52tail pull that nice and tight and then
30:54we're going to go back down through the
30:56one next to it and the first two that we
30:58just
31:03added like that pull that through pull
31:08it nice and tight and push it down so
31:10that the beads sit tight against the
31:12body of the cat and then you're going to
31:14do the same again picking up four more
31:17of your orange
31:19beads and going up that other side
31:22through
31:24two pull that through and then you're
31:27going to go down through the bottom four
31:29on the other side so that you're coming
31:32out the bottom again so we are at the
31:36bottom now we're going to add a little
31:38white bead on the end to finish it off
31:41and we're going to do that like we did
31:42at the top of the tail so taking your
31:44needle under that thread that connects
31:46those two beads on the end together pull
31:49that down and then go up through that
31:52bead from bottom to
31:55top and push that down so it tightens
31:58and make sure there's no gaps and then
32:00we have this and then you're going to
32:02move your needle back up through the
32:04other side of the leg all the way back
32:09up and then back into that bead that
32:12they were originally connected to at the
32:17top so we have
32:20this so from here you're going to go
32:22down through the next spead
32:25along heading towards the face now and
32:28then up through the next one down
32:31through the next one and it's just a
32:32straight line across up through the next
32:36one down through the next
32:39one so now from here you need to add a
32:41leg in exactly the same way that you did
32:44here using this bead and the one next to
32:46it um so you can go back and watch that
32:49part again if you need to so go ahead
32:50and do that so then you should have this
32:53and you're coming out here that bead at
32:55the front we're going to move around to
32:58the other side of the front of the body
33:00so from here just turn it to the front
33:02and you're going to come down through
33:04the bead next to
33:06it directly next to it
33:10there and then you're going to move
33:12around so there's that middle group of
33:15four you're going to move around through
33:17two beads in that group of
33:20four so that's
33:23one and then another one
33:28and up into the one above as
33:32well so then we are here and then
33:35turning the cat round you're going to
33:36move down through the one that's next to
33:39it it's slightly
33:41lower and from there is where you're
33:44going to add your next leg so again go
33:47ahead and do the same exact thing again
33:49to add this next leg and then I'll show
33:52you where to go next so using the bead
33:54that you're coming out of and one
33:56further back as well
33:59then you should have this so we just
34:00need to add our final leg so you're
34:03going to travel down the body so down
34:05through the next
34:08one and then up through the next
34:13one down through the next
34:18one up through the next one and finally
34:23down through the last
34:25one so then you're going to add your
34:28final leg in the same way so then you
34:31should have this so your cat is
34:34basically all finished at this point
34:36with what thread you've got left you
34:38might want to attach a jump ring from
34:40either the head I guess the middle of
34:42the back or the tail um that's
34:44completely up to you I'm going to show
34:47you how to tie your knots and cut your
34:49threads so I've just moved up a little
34:52bit I'm going to take my needle Under
34:53This Thread that's connecting two beads
34:56together and and then pull that through
34:58to create a small Loop and go through
35:00the loop twice um through the loop from
35:03bottom through to
35:05top pull that down make sure the knob
35:08tightens and then move your needle away
35:12through another bead pull that really
35:14tight and the knot should vanish inside
35:15the bead and then tie as many knots as
35:18you can and always move away from your
35:20needle before you cut your thread and
35:22then go ahead and thread your needle
35:24onto your tail thread and do the same
35:27with that as well and then you can cut
35:29off both your threads and you're all
35:31finished so once you've done that then
35:33that is the cat all finished so this is
35:35what they look like definitely sisters
35:38and not twins for some reason I don't
35:40know if I got the position slightly
35:42different on the legs one looks higher
35:45than the other I don't know also if I'm
35:47just imagining that cuz I've looked at
35:48them for too long but either way it
35:51looks cute you could always add some
35:52extra rows if you wanted the legs to be
35:54a bit longer I
35:56suppose um but this is how how they
35:57turned out I think they're really cute
35:59I'm going to be using mine for a karma
36:02is a cat bracelet that I'm making which
36:05is going to be really
36:07funny
36:08um yeah so I hope you've enjoyed this
