- 0:00I'm Warren Sharp with Sharp Football Analysis and I hope that this has become your
- 0:04new favorite football podcast.
- 0:06I've assembled a team of experts and we're going to be breaking down all the action
- 0:10in this weekend's games. We're going to be hitting college football and the NFL and
- 0:15college football. Here's some of the games we're going to be covering.
- 0:18Ohio State versus Indiana, Alabama versus Tennessee and Notre Dame versus BYU.
- 0:23And then we're going to pivot over to discuss the NFL.
- 0:26We're going to be getting some NFL ref angles, some prop bets, and my best bet of
- 0:31the week, of course. Some of the games that we'll be breaking down in the NFL, we're
- 0:34going to hit the Texas at Jaguars over in London.
- 0:37We're also going to cover the Ravens at the Browns, the Cardinals at the Rams, the
- 0:41Steelers at the Bucks, and then Sunday Night Football, the Dallas Cowboys at the
- 0:46Green Bay Packers. We'll save Monday Night Football for our Monday recap show where
- 0:50Curtis has been really hot on his favorite bets, sit several in a row.
- 0:55We're going to be talking about that game on our next episode.
- 0:57Make sure that you guys are subscribed.
- 0:59But before we get into that, let's sit back and start breaking down these games.
- 1:07All right, guys, obviously the crowning jewel of this show is going to be the best
- 1:11bet at the end. We're 39 and 15 lifetime, an outstanding record, but
- 1:17hungry for a win this week.
- 1:19And I got a best bet that I really like.
- 1:21Before we get into that, I want to talk about some of the biggest keys to these
- 1:25games. And I think some things that you should be aware of.
- 1:28I've got an interesting angle here on some underdogs.
- 1:31But before I get into that one, I do want to talk about the fact that there is a
- 1:35team in the NFL whose defense through five weeks has gone up against four backup
- 1:41quarterbacks. That might sound hard to believe, but it's absolutely true.
- 1:46And I'm talking none other than the Green Bay Packers defense.
- 1:51That's right. By my accounting and my strength of schedule tool, the Green Bay
- 1:55Packers have played the number one easy schedule of opposing defenses, but primarily
- 2:01for quarterbacks, it's been pretty much of a joke.
- 2:04Let's start with week one.
- 2:05They're scheduled to face Kyler Murray.
- 2:07Kyler Murray gets knocked out of that game very early in the game.
- 2:10So completely cold off the bench, not having taken practice reps in steps, Carson
- 2:15Wentz back up face number one.
- 2:17Then week four, they get a rookie quarterback Jalen Daniels for the Tampa Bay
- 2:22Buccaneers, making his first ever start in the NFL.
- 2:26The very next game, they get Tyson Bagent, the backup quarterback for the Chicago
- 2:30Bears, who then was so bad that he gets benched after averaging 4 .1 yards per
- 2:35attempt, no touchdowns, two interceptions, and in steps, Case Keenum.
- 2:40That's five games, four backup quarterbacks faced.
- 2:43They also got to play Michael Penix in his first game off of a season-ending
- 2:47injury. So very unique situation there.
- 2:50The only quarterback that hasn't been a backup or that wasn't playing his first game
- 2:55off of a prior season ending injury was Geno Smith.
- 3:00And if you look at the overall schedule of passing defense, passing offenses that
- 3:06the Green Bay Packers have faced, which will pop up on the screen right now, you
- 3:10could see that these passing attacks that the Green Bay Packers defensive face, not
- 3:15very formidable. We're talking about every single one of these teams has ranked
- 3:20below average so far this season.
- 3:22And most of them have been well below average, including the Vikings, Jets, Falcons,
- 3:29and the Bucks. Now they're going up against the Dallas Cowboys.
- 3:32And one thing that I want you guys to do, obviously, you can see on the strength of
- 3:36schedule, significantly more difficult assignment here, trying to slow down the
- 3:40Dallas Cowboys passing attack than those prior passing attacks and all those backup
- 3:44quarterbacks that they were going up against.
- 3:46Pay close attention in this game to when the Dallas Cowboys have the football
- 3:51because they have been elite in yards per drive and plays per drive where they
- 3:56ranked number one in yards per drive at 41 .2 and plays per drive at 6 .8.
- 4:01And as a result, they have the number three highest red zone trip rate at 40 % of
- 4:07their drives make it to the red zone.
- 4:09They have the number one highest goal to go trip rate, 27 % of their drives get into
- 4:14goal to go situations. They have the number one highest scores per drive 56 % of
- 4:20their drive score points.
- 4:21That's the best in the NFL.
- 4:22And they have the number three highest points per drive 3 .1 average points per
- 4:28drive for the Dallas Cowboys offense.
- 4:30So they should progress the ball into the Green Bay Packers 20 yard line.
- 4:36So the Dallas Cowboys red zone fairly frequently.
- 4:38And that could pose a problem for the Green Bay Packers when Dallas does get in
- 4:42there because Dallas has scored touchdowns on 83 % of their red zone trips.
- 4:47That's the number two best rate in the NFL behind only the San Francisco 49ers.
- 4:51Meanwhile, the Packers defense, you know what they're surrendering, they are
- 4:54surrendering 81 % touchdown rate inside of the red zone, which ranks 31st in the
- 5:01NFL. And that's despite facing the number one easiest schedule of opposing
- 5:06quarterbacks. So we've got the number two best scoring team inside of the red zone,
- 5:10the Dallas Cowboys going up against the number two worst red zone defense of the
- 5:14Green Bay Packers who has that number two worst ranking, despite playing the number
- 5:19one easiest schedule in the NFL of opposing passing attacks.
- 5:22This game could be fun for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
- 5:26Before we get back into it, I want to ask you guys a quick favor cost nothing.

- 6:02Make sure that you guys subscribe so you never miss an episode.
- 6:05Next key to this week, if you guys are looking at the betting screen, I'm sure you
- 6:09have realized that there are a lot of short road favorites out there this week.
- 6:14It's glittered with them.
- 6:15We've got five games this week where the road team is favored by four or fewer
- 6:20points at the time of this recording.
- 6:23How have those teams fared so far this season?
- 6:26The answer is not great. Since week two, those teams are just seven wins and eight
- 6:31losses overall. That's less than 50 % for these short favorites.
- 6:36In addition, they're five and ten ATS.
- 6:39That's only a 33 % cover rate.
- 6:41Do you know how many of those short road favorites have actually led at halftime?
- 6:46Only three. Three out of 15 have led at halftime so far this year.
- 6:52Since week one, we're talking 20 % have led at halftime.
- 6:57So a little bit of a first half angle.
- 6:59Let's talk about some of these teams talking about the Seahawks are playing the
- 7:02Denver Broncos. Obviously, by the time you're listening to this, that game will be
- 7:05in the rear of your mirror, but they are a short road favorite at the time of this
- 7:09recording. And then on Sunday, we've got the Saints at the Giants, the Panthers at
- 7:12the Eagles, the Steelers at the Bucks, and the Bears at the Falcons.
- 7:16So those are some of the teams that have not done so far, have not done well so far
- 7:20this year is the short road favorites.
- 7:22We'll see if they can change that up this week or if that trend continues.
- 7:26All right, next up, I want to dig into that fascinating matchup.
- 7:29This is going to start the day for us Monday morning, bright and early across the
- 7:33pond over in London, where you've got the Houston Texans taking on the Jacksonville
- 7:37Jaguars. And I specifically want to talk about on the matchup show, we talked about
- 7:41the potential inability for the Houston Texans to run the football and what that
- 7:46matchup could look like and then what might transpire as a result if they can't run
- 7:50the football really well.
- 7:51Here, I want to tell you a little bit about the Jacksonville defense because they
- 7:55have very sharp splits by personal grouping.
- 7:58They've been elite against 12 and 13 personal passes.
- 8:01The Jacksonville Jaguars defense actually ranks number three in the NFL against
- 8:05those heavier personal groupings with multi tight end sets, allowing negative point
- 8:10two, six EPA per pass.
- 8:12However, they've been below average against 11 personnel passes ranking 22nd,
- 8:18allowing opposing quarterbacks plus point oh four EPA per pass.
- 8:23The Texans have used 11 personnel at a higher rate and they've been above average
- 8:27when they utilize 11 personnel.
- 8:29They now have Nico Collins back.
- 8:31They also added Marvin Harrison.
- 8:34This is a game that Nico Collins has had has had a lot of success against in the
- 8:38past against the Jacksonville Jaguars past defense.
- 8:41He's had 100 plus receiving yards in five of his last six games against the
- 8:46Jacksonville Jaguars, obviously a divisional rivalry that exists.
- 8:49He's hit that number of 100 plus yards receiving in four straight games.
- 8:55This season against wide receiver ones, obviously that's what Nico is.
- 8:59The Jaguars defense is allowing 11 .1 yards per target that ranks 30th in the NFL.
- 9:06They're allowing 93 yards per game, which ranks 29th in the NFL amongst all
- 9:11defenses. Collins plays 88 % of his snaps out wide and he's likely to
- 9:17still remain the primary X receiver, even though they added Marvin Harrison.
- 9:21The Jaguars are allowing 9 .6 yards per target, which ranks 28th and 144
- 9:28yards per game, which ranks 31st to outside receivers.
- 9:32So this is going to be a potential good matchup for Nico Collins against the
- 9:37secondary of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 9:40Houston ranks number nine in passing the football in terms of offensive efficiency.
- 9:45Jacksonville is much better against the run, where Houston ranks number 31 and
- 9:51Jacksonville ranks number one defending the run.
- 9:54So do you want to take your number 31 ranked run offense to go up against the number
- 9:59one run defense? Or do you want to lean more into your quarterback who is
- 10:05currently operating the number nine most efficient passing offense and is playing
- 10:10way better than most people think?
- 10:13I think that's where they should lean.
- 10:15I think they should go and become more pass heavy in a game that they absolutely
- 10:19need to win against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 10:23Otherwise, Jacksonville gains a win over them.
- 10:26Houston only has one win on the season.
- 10:28It's a huge game in terms of the AFC South divisional race by the end of the season.
- 10:33It might end up coming back down to this very game right here even though it is only
- 10:38week six. One caveat that I want to throw up there on the screen.
- 10:42I mentioned that CJ Stroud has been great, that Texas offense ranks number nine.
- 10:47Look at the strength of schedule graphic.
- 10:49This is a ranking of pass defenses the teams have played.
- 10:53The Houston Texans so far this season through five weeks have played the number one
- 10:58easiest schedule of opposing pass defenses.
- 11:00You see them there in the top left corner of your screen.
- 11:03Their teams have played the easiest pass defenses.
- 11:06So this is going to be a fascinating matchup in terms of the strategies taken and
- 11:10the execution that then ensues.
- 11:12Will the Houston Texans come out and try to run the football into the strength of
- 11:17the Jacksonville Jaguars defense?
- 11:19Will the Texans lean more into their passing attack?
- 11:21How will CJ Stroud fair against a defense that struggles to defend 11 personnel,
- 11:26struggles to defend outside wide receivers, struggles to defend wide receiver ones?
- 11:30Nico Collins should have an advantage.
- 11:32CJ Stroud has been great but hasn't played very many good pass defenses.
- 11:35I just can't wait to watch this game unfold.
- 11:38I think this game is going to be fascinating to watch the matchup between Liam
- 11:41Cohen, the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars calling offense against Demico
- 11:45Ryan, the head coach of the Houston Texans.
- 11:48Obviously he calls their defense now.
- 11:50I think it's going to be a lot of fun on that side of the ball but the other side of
- 11:53the ball is extremely fascinating as well.
- 11:55All right, we've got a great weekend of college football in store for us and I think
- 11:59we want to hear from Ryan McCrystal right now as to what he thinks are going to be
- 12:04the outcomes and some of the key matchups and some of the biggest college football
- 12:07games this week. Today he's going to break down for us Ohio State of Indiana,
- 12:12Alabama versus Tennessee and Notre Dame versus BYU.
- 12:16Three big games. Let's hear from Ryan.
- 12:18All right, we've got Alabama traveling to Tennessee in a big game in the SEC this
- 12:23season. Tennessee knocked off Alabama last time they came to Knoxville but Alabama
- 12:27is laying just over a touchdown in this matchup right now and I think I'm leaning
- 12:31towards laying the points here because I think Tennessee's defense might be getting
- 12:35a little too much credit for what they've done so far this season.
- 12:38They've looked good but they just haven't really played anybody who can challenge
- 12:42them on offense. Right now, Tennessee ranks 19th in scoring defense so far this
- 12:48season. They were 91st a year ago and I'm just not really seeing the improvement
- 12:54that would lead to such a giant leap.
- 12:56I think it just has more to do with the competition that they face.
- 12:58Now, yes, they faced Texas.
- 13:00That was a big game and they were competitive but like we talked about on last
- 13:04week's show, Arch Manning can't attack downfield.
- 13:07They don't have much of a passing offense this season.
- 13:10Obviously it hurt them last week against Oklahoma.
- 13:12We saw that play out and they didn't look very good against this Tennessee but I
- 13:15think that was more about Texas than it is about Tennessee.
- 13:19I think what Keelan Russell and his Alabama offense have is just a completely
- 13:22different beast to anything the Tennessee defense has been challenged with so far
- 13:26this season. In fact, outside the red zone, only 12 percent of pass attempts against
- 13:31Tennessee this season have been at least 15 yards downfield.
- 13:35That's the lowest rate in college football.
- 13:37Now, some of that might be a little bit of a disrespect for the Tennessee defense
- 13:41but I think it just has to do with the offenses that they play that they're the best
- 13:45offense they've played is Texas which isn't a team that can attack downfield.
- 13:49So, I think it just they haven't been challenged against a team like Alabama yet.
- 13:53Alabama is completely different beast.
- 13:55Like I said, they attack downfield 33 percent of the time outside the red zone and
- 14:01they complete 60 percent of those passes.
- 14:04So, Keelan Russell, he might not be as polished in some ways as Arch Manning who's
- 14:08obviously had a lot more experience and Russell's just a freshman out there but he
- 14:12is a far better downfield passer and he's got the weapons to stretch the field as
- 14:18well. I just don't think Tennessee has seen anything like this before.
- 14:21I think they're probably going to expose this fouls defense in this match.
- 14:24I'm probably put up a big number and on the other side of the ball Tennessee cannot
- 14:27keep pace. If Alabama is able to put, I don't know, I'd say even 28 points on the
- 14:32board, that's going to be too much for Tennessee to stay close in this game.
- 14:35So, I'm leaving Alabama with this pick but check out the website for my full
- 14:39breakdown and my final pick in this matchup.
- 14:42So, Notre Dame's traveling to BYU.
- 14:43One of the biggest home games BYU has had in a very long time.
- 14:47This, a win in this matchup would really put them in the driver's seat to earning a
- 14:51playoff berth this season because I think it would probably afford to them the
- 14:54potential to not win the Big 12 and still sneak in especially if it were a loss in
- 14:59the Big 12 title game. So, huge game, arguably the biggest game the Big 12 has had
- 15:03in quite a long time because of what it says for their potential to get two playoff
- 15:08teams in. If another team did upset BYU in the title game, BYU with a win over Notre
- 15:13Dame could potentially get into the playoff.
- 15:14So, huge game not just for BYU but the Big 12 conference as a whole.
- 15:18But, Notre Dame is laying double digits in this game.
- 15:21They're expected to you know, route BYU.
- 15:24Part of it has to do with some injuries, BYU will be without running back L .J.
- 15:27Martin who's really been a force for them in their power running game which is
- 15:30really the staple of their offense.
- 15:32However, I also have some doubts about Notre Dame's rushing attack and it's making
- 15:36me kind of lean towards wanting to take the points in this matchup.
- 15:39Notre Dame ranks
- 15:42121st in explosive rush rate this year.
- 15:44That's shocking compared to what they were a season ago with Jeremiah Love and
- 15:48Jadarian Price. They ranked third in explosive rush rate last season.
- 15:52Clearly this is not the same rushing attack by any means.
- 15:55I mean, you also have to factor in the teams that they've played.
- 15:58The best defense they've faced this season was constant.
- 16:00So, major red flag that they have not been able to be explosive running the ball
- 16:05this season, especially when they have a decent passing attack too.
- 16:08It's not like they can't throw the ball and so teams are able to cheat up on them.
- 16:11You got to respect C .J. Carr and the passing attack and yet teams are still
- 16:14limiting what they can do on the ground.
- 16:16So, I think BYU's run defense is really going to give them some problems.
- 16:20BYU, based on opponent adjusted data, they ranked seventh in yards before contact
- 16:25allowed. They've been great at getting early contact.
- 16:28They're ranked ninth in contact rate at or behind the line of scrimmage, making
- 16:31early contact 51 % of the time.
- 16:35I think they're going to really cause some problems for Notre Dame and just force
- 16:38them into some third and long situations, be able to get them off the field.
- 16:41I don't see Notre Dame putting a huge number up on offense.
- 16:44Now, BYU has not been great on the offensive side of the ball.
- 16:49A couple weeks ago, they struggled against TCU, but that TCU defense has turned out
- 16:52to be much better than we expected.
- 16:54That game was also played in the rain and then last week against Iowa State, they
- 16:59only put up 24 points. Coming off that close BYU game, I think that has sort of
- 17:03shifted perception of BYU's offense a little bit, but if you dig a little deeper
- 17:08into that Iowa State game, and Iowa State does have a strong defense.
- 17:10It wasn't shocking that they limited what BYU is able to put on the scoreboard to an
- 17:14extent, but BYU put up over 500 yards of offense on Iowa State.
- 17:19Iowa State came up with three clutch fourth downstops, two of them inside the 10
- 17:24-yard line, which really changed the way that game looked.
- 17:28I mean, let's say they punched those balls into the end zone near the goal line when
- 17:32they got down there. If it's 38 to 10 win over Iowa State instead of 24 to 10, I
- 17:37think that shifts the perception a lot coming into this game.
- 17:41Same thing going back to that TCU game.
- 17:42What if that game wasn't played in the rain where it was clearly affecting players
- 17:45and they were able to put more points on the scoreboard?
- 17:48That would really shift your perception of BYU, so I think these last two weeks have
- 17:53kind of shifted what we think of the BYU offense.
- 17:56I haven't really seen a lot to make me think that it's significantly worse than last
- 18:00year, even though it hasn't put up, they points on the scoreboard the past couple
- 18:03weeks. So I'm leaning towards taking BYU in the points.
- 18:06Double digits is a lot for a good team like BYU on their home turf, especially with
- 18:11a good run defense where they can potentially force Notre Dame off the field quickly
- 18:14sometimes. Okay, so Ohio State is traveling to Indiana in the biggest home game in
- 18:19the history of the Indiana football program.
- 18:22Yet Indiana is an underdog in this game.
- 18:23Ohio State's favored by three and a half points.
- 18:26I'm going to side with the home team though and take those points because I think
- 18:29this is a pretty good match up for Indiana.
- 18:31Now, the Hoosiers looked vulnerable last week against Nebraska, which obviously
- 18:35pushed them to the wire. But a big part of that was Nebraska's run defense.
- 18:40Nebraska held Indiana running back to just 41 yards on 17 carries in that game.
- 18:45They really didn't allow Indiana to just get into the flow of the things on offense
- 18:49because Indiana, they're kind of a traditional type of offense.
- 18:53They want to run the ball most of the time on early downs, take some shots down
- 18:56field here and there, but for the most part they just want to kind of get into the
- 18:59flow of their offense, run the ball, get into third and short situations and just
- 19:03keep plotting along like that.
- 19:05They're not one of these really innovative offensive teams in college football,
- 19:09which works when you can run the ball like they have the fast couple years and you
- 19:13get into manageable, like you get into second and short and you can take a shot down
- 19:17field or you get into a manageable third down situation.
- 19:20That's worked really well for them, but when you can shut down the running game and
- 19:24put them into tough third and long situations, they're not as good, especially this
- 19:28season because Josh Hoover is not Fernando Mendoza, he's not going to sit in the
- 19:31pocket and pick you apart on third down.
- 19:33So last week, that was problematic.
- 19:36Indiana was one of ten on third downs against Nebraska because they weren't able to
- 19:40run the ball. Seven of those ten third down situations, however, were third and
- 19:45long. In fact, 37 % of Indiana's sets of downs led to a third and long attempt
- 19:52by far their highest rate this season.
- 19:54Their percentage has usually been in the teens throughout the year and throughout
- 19:59most of last season as well.
- 20:00That's just how good their offense has been.
- 20:03So we see in Nebraska kind of laid the blueprint, but Ohio State doesn't have that
- 20:08kind of defense. Their biggest weakness so far is they can't stop the run.
- 20:11That was why they lost that game against Texas because Texas started breaking off
- 20:15some big long runs and just sustaining drives in the second half of that game.
- 20:20If we look at some numbers on the two run defenses, Ohio State ranks 83rd in
- 20:24opponent adjusted yards before contact allowed.
- 20:27If you're not creating early contact, you can't force teams off the field.
- 20:30They're going to be able to move the ball in early downs, which is what Indiana
- 20:33wants to do. Now compare that to Nebraska's defense, which Indiana had had trouble
- 20:37with last week. Nebraska ranks 30th in yards before contact allowed.
- 20:42That's one of the strengths of Nebraska's defense.
- 20:44So that was a good matchup for Nebraska last week.
- 20:47They were able to have success in early downs against the run, force Indiana into
- 20:51tough down and distance situations, and it created some problems for the Indiana
- 20:55offense because Hoover can't really get them out of that situation.
- 20:58I don't think Ohio State's defense can do the same.
- 21:01Now Ohio State has a prolific offense.
- 21:04They're going to keep this game close.
- 21:05I think this will be a game that comes down to the wire, but Indiana is getting more
- 21:09than a field goal in a game where I think they're going to be able to run the ball,
- 21:12maybe play some offense on defense by sustaining drives and just keeping Jeremiah
- 21:16Smith on the sideline. I think that plays to their advantage.
- 21:18So I'll take the points in this situation inside with Indiana at home.
- 21:22Outstanding analysis as you've come to expect from Ryan McCrystal and as a

- 22:44All right, now we're back for one of my favorite segments of my show, the weekly
- 22:47visit with Rich Hribar. Always looking forward to Rich's outstanding insight into the
- 22:52prop market where he takes all the research that he compiled over the course of the
- 22:57week and tries to help filter and find several props that he likes a lot this week
- 23:02and Rich, we're going to first start with a game that really is expected to go one
- 23:07way and one way only and that's towards the LA Rams and hopefully that's the case
- 23:12here because we know this player has so many more opportunities in game states like
- 23:17I think the betting market is certainly expecting in this one, which is a
- 23:20comfortable win for the LA Rams.
- 23:23Sean McVeigh's had a ton of success here.
- 23:25We're going to turn to the LA Rams against the Arizona Cardinals.
- 23:28We're going to look at Blake Corum's rushing attempts market, which is a solid nine
- 23:33and a half at every single book that has a number out there right now.
- 23:36You can find minus 105, so nice little reduced juice there on the over at one of the
- 23:41books here at MGM. So Rich, why don't you talk to us about why you think Blake Corum
- 23:45is in a great spot to get some carries in this game against the Cardinals.
- 23:50Yeah, when you look at the Rams, these last three weeks they've been really playing
- 23:54in these jailbreak game environments.
- 23:56Matthew Stafford has thrown 55, 51, and 54 passes the past three weeks.
- 24:01It's only the second time in NFL history a player has thrown 50 or more passes in
- 24:05three straight games. Really?
- 24:07Drew Bloodsow. Wow, that's a great stuff.
- 24:09Did it. Nice. Yeah, so right now Stafford's on pace for 734 pass attempts last year
- 24:15through 597. Like we know there's going to be regression where this balance is out
- 24:19and what better spot would it be than here?
- 24:22Them is massive favorites against this Cardinals team that they have had just
- 24:26immense success again. The Rams are 16 and 3 under Sean McFay against the Cardinals.
- 24:32Last year they blew them out both times 45 to 17 and 37 to 20.
- 24:37So I do believe we're going to see a lot more balanced approach than we've seen from
- 24:41the Rams these past three weeks.
- 24:42And we look at last week when the game was kind of really tight before it got kind
- 24:46of crazy on Monday night with the Bills game through three quarters.
- 24:49Kyron Williams had 12 touches and Blake Corm had 8.
- 24:52It was a lot similar to what we had saw at the start of the season.
- 24:55Then we saw Kyron do his foxhole stuff where he played 100 % snaps in the fourth
- 24:58quarter and overtime because when the chips are down Kyron plays we talk about this
- 25:01all the time. But weeks one and two Kyron only had 47 % of the backfield touches
- 25:06and we saw Blake Corm get involved in the offense and he cleared this number in both
- 25:11games. I do think we get back there and we look at last year's matchups too where
- 25:15they blew them out he cleared this number in both games as well.
- 25:18I was really trying to pick out my favorite Blake Corm spot.
- 25:21I think you know longest rush was it in play his rushing yards are in play because
- 25:25he had he cleared those numbers in both games against the Cardinals too.
- 25:29But I only settled on this being kind of the the safest way to play it.
- 25:34But if you do like those two those are other avenues I would explore him getting
- 25:37involved in this game. Yeah definitely a different type of game state here expected
- 25:43in this one. So we're looking for the rushing attempts for Blake Corm over nine and
- 25:49a half. Next up we're going to go to a different market we're going to be sticking
- 25:53in the same game though and we're going to be looking at the longest reception for
- 25:59tight end one tight end extraordinary Tray McBride going up against these LA Rams in
- 26:05this defense and right now the line is some 19 and a half some
- 26:1118 and a half. So it's a split line right now if you hurry up you can get some 19
- 26:15and a half. I'm looking at what it is over here on Fanduil it's also 18 and a
- 26:22half at Fanduil it's not on the screen right now but I was looking on my app.
- 26:26So we are thinking that Tray McBride might not have the explosives and this is in
- 26:32part because of just how great the LA Rams are I'm sure rich against tight ends and
- 26:38we were thinking about Dalton Kakey last week but we knew that the matchup wasn't
- 26:42elite even though they were down receivers the bills just weren't getting the ball
- 26:47to Dalton Kakey because of this solid tight end defense of the LA Rams.
- 26:51Talk to us about the matchup against Tray McBride and then why you think it might be
- 26:56harder for him to clear such a long reception against this great tight end defense
- 27:01of the Rams. Yeah before we even get to the the matchup side I mean just Tray
- 27:05McBride himself he's averaging a career low 7 .3 yards per catch 5 .5 yards per
- 27:10target he hasn't had a 20 yard catch since week one his longest catches the past
- 27:15four weeks are 11 9 18 and 9 yards so you know we're seeing him not clear
- 27:21this number regularly anyways for a guy that leads the NFL in catches you know
- 27:25because it is kind of you know uncomfortable in a sense of saying hey this guy's
- 27:27going to get a lot of targets that catches to clear this number and that's where the
- 27:31matchup kind of comes in as well well I guess before we get the match I should also
- 27:35tack on to that he's seeing a career high double team rate and we saw it even go up
- 27:39last week with without Marvin Harrison both both Michael Wilson and Tray McBride had
- 27:44their double team rates go up last week so it's something to kind of you know
- 27:48monitor and this post trade of Marvin Harrison junior who wasn't being utilized by
- 27:51the offense but actually was you know soaking up attention for these you know more
- 27:56underneath targets to kind of get completed and you know the Detroit Lions said go
- 28:00ahead and beat us with Jalen Brooks and Reggie Virgil and Kendrick Bourne feel free
- 28:04we're going to guard these guys so the Rams are allowing a league low 2 .9
- 28:10yards per target to tight ends they've got a league low 41 % completion rate to
- 28:16tight ends the longest catch they've allowed to a tight end this season is 14 yards
- 28:20they've got only two catches of 10 or more yards to tight ends and they have faced
- 28:26you know Kincaid last week Isaiah likely uh and George Kittle week one you can
- 28:31asterisk because he was coming back from the Achilles but it's not like they've all
- 28:35just faced like just tertiary vagabonds either so I'm looking at just the way
- 28:40McBride's been utilized on these shorter passes the matchup and then also like the
- 28:45one wild card too is you know there are rumors that Carson Beck's going to be active
- 28:49for the first time this week if it's want to blow out do we see him or if preset is
- 28:53continues the struggles do we see him so just there's a lot of elements in play you
- 28:57actually pitched a better angle I think forward to play through this game to me
- 29:00before the show so we'll see if you talk about that later in the show as well but I
- 29:05do like this one as well
- 29:07tertiary vagabonds that is an outstanding fantasy football team name if your team is
- 29:11struggling a little bit this year you just want to change it up why don't you rename
- 29:15your team tertiary vagabonds and send us a little note in the comments uh I'm sure
- 29:20we get a kick out of that but no absolutely I think that there are a couple of ways
- 29:24that you can try to play on the fact that they might not have a lot of success
- 29:28pushing the ball deeper down the field and and certainly that was I didn't realize
- 29:33they hadn't allowed a single tight end to have a reception of more than 14 yards
- 29:37that's pretty crazy so definitely the LA Rams Krishula can't do much really well but
- 29:44it seems like the one thing he can do well is cover tight end so uh let's see if he
- 29:48can prevent this particular tight end who's leading the league in reception Trey
- 29:53McBride from going over his longest reception all right now let's go to the third
- 29:58prop of the week and you're going to look to the Pittsburgh Steelers traveling down
- 30:03to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers we're looking at Pat Fryermuth we're looking at
- 30:08over three and a half receptions and right now you can get some nice plus money
- 30:13prices here sometimes we talk about we have to lay a little bit juice in this case
- 30:17we get to take a little bit extra home you get as high as plus 118 over at FanDuel
- 30:22on Jay uh Pat Fryermuth over three and a half receptions Rich why do you think
- 30:28Fryermuth can get at least four receptions in this game against Todd Bowles and the
- 30:32Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense which we did break down this match up a little bit in
- 30:36terms of the game state overall on the matchup show if you guys want to get a little
- 30:40bit more information on it highly suggest you go to one of our other shows after you
- 30:45have subscribed to the channel and check out what we talked about yesterday but talk
- 30:49about Fryermuth specifically here yeah that uh it's nice to see a little plus money
- 30:54here try to always mix in a couple of these when we can get them where it lines up
- 30:58with what i'm looking at uh you know we saw last week that Fryermuth was needed more
- 31:02as a pass catcher because you know Michael Pittman was it was placed on IR then they
- 31:07lost Roman Wilson in that game he ended up running a pass route on a season high 82
- 31:12percent of the Pittsburgh drop backs um and it makes sense for him to get that bump
- 31:16because he really plays more right wide receiver than tight end anyways he's played
- 31:2052 percent of his snaps in the slot and another eight percent out wide so he's
- 31:24basically 60 percent wide receiver anyways um so extending his role makes sense
- 31:29given the lack of depth here at wide receiver and we expect in this particular
- 31:33matchup Pittsburgh to drop back a lot Pittsburgh is fourth in pass rate over
- 31:37expectation Tampa Bay is a pass funnel as well uh teams are throwing the ball five
- 31:42percent over pass rate expectations against them that's the fourth highest in the
- 31:45league um and we know the ball comes out fast against the Bucks because they blitz a
- 31:49lot i mean opposing passers have the second fastest time in the NFL uh from the snap
- 31:54to throw the football uh and as a product product of that you know Tampa Bay lost
- 31:58six receptions per game the tight ends which is 22nd at the position uh so all those
- 32:04things kind of line up here where I look for Fryermuth to be active he's also hit
- 32:07this in three or five games even before this too as well so this feels like a really
- 32:11favorable line i know you had mentioned some early stuff in the week too about maybe
- 32:14potential wind and weather and we don't have to worry about that stuff either with
- 32:17where Fryermuth get this targets yeah i love that aspect of it it's kind of like a
- 32:22way to offset some of that because it's not like Aaron Rogers because you know hand
- 32:25the ball off all the time even if it's like 15 mile per hour wind you're going to
- 32:29need to throw the ball underneath Fryermuth gets his targets there as you mentioned
- 32:32in i just want to give a shout out to Ray Summerlin who has developed a lot of these
- 32:37tools for us we go back to the screen share real quick i want to go to show you guys
- 32:42how we can actually um look at this pass rate over expected that rich said so we've
- 32:48got all these tools they're completely free up on the website go to the stats page
- 32:51here at the top on the nav button and then you can click this one that says NFL
- 32:54advanced stats free tools and scrolled on here to i mean look at all these different
- 32:59stats there's the tools the uh the some of these grids here the i use a lot the the
- 33:05strength of schedule stuff is down here under strength of schedule tool we also have
- 33:09some weather forecasts that are outstanding actually let's just rich i'm going to
- 33:13take a second of your time here let's just click click on to this one and scroll
- 33:16down to find the uh match up here for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the
- 33:21Pittsburgh Steelers right now 17 mile per hour winds gusts of 29 miles per hour
- 33:26talks about some of the passing effect on this game and then we also have a
- 33:30meteorologist who gives his take once a day sorry one yeah once a day uh he updated
- 33:35it yesterday wednesday at 1 24 p .m we'll see what he has to say about it on
- 33:40thursday and friday as you go and dig into these shows but certainly the Pittsburgh
- 33:44Steelers Tampa Bay Buccaneers is expecting a little bit of wind but let's go back to
- 33:48what i was talking about here which is the pass rate over expected tool which is
- 33:52right here uh you click into that and you can go to the matchups itself so in their
- 33:57matchups look what rich was talking about right here the highest pass rate over
- 34:01expected matchup is the Steelers offense against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense
- 34:06Steelers are passing balls 6 .6 over expected the Bucs teams are passing on their
- 34:13defense 5 .2 percent more than expected and so the Steelers offense in this matchup
- 34:19really good for probably expecting passes whereas you scroll down to the bottom here
- 34:22the team like the chargers might not be passing the football quite as much they are
- 34:26very under expectation and so these are the teams that might be trying to run the
- 34:30football a little bit more given their matchup so outstanding look at the tool rich
- 34:34on that note we'll let you go thanks again for all the recommendations this week and
- 34:40good luck to you and we'll see you again next week good luck everyone all right now
- 34:45it's time to talk to Joe Gibbs our outstanding NFL ref analyst who breaks down the
- 34:50third team that's out on the field you've got the home team the visitors and then
- 34:54the NFL referees some of their tendencies and their trends really do impact the way
- 35:00that games end up going the outcome of these games and so it's important to know
- 35:04what some of the tendencies and trends are from these refs Joe is going to be
- 35:08breaking down a couple of games for us he's first got the Ravens at the Browns and
- 35:13then he's going to be talking about Sunday night football between the Cowboys and
- 35:16the Green Bay Packers let's hear from Joe okay Ravens at the Browns Carl Shep is the
- 35:22referee divisional home teams over the past decade 35, 22 and 1 against the spread
- 35:27with Carl Shep is officiating so some penalty numbers we're going to touch on before
- 35:31we get to the breakdown of the game as it stands right now through five weeks the
- 35:35Cleveland Browns ranked number one Baltimore Ravens ranked number five in penalty
- 35:39per game average pre -snap penalties Browns ranked number one Ravens ranked number
- 35:43seven so look if you have legitimate Super Bowl aspirations and we can kind of agree
- 35:47that the Browns probably don't but the Ravens do you're not going anywhere with
- 35:51those sort of penalty numbers just eventually it's an unsustainable path and so for
- 35:58the Ravens in particular those numbers have to decrease as the season progresses but
- 36:02right now that's where both teams stand and look they have one in spite of that so
- 36:06again coming back to Sunday whoever can be the more disciplined will have an edge in
- 36:11this matchup who that is remains to be seen so offensive holding those penalties of
- 36:15skyrocketed this season and the Browns and the Ravens the Browns currently ranked
- 36:19second overall in this category the Ravens sit just outside the top 10 as the most
- 36:24penalized team for offensive holding so this will be a case of something has to give
- 36:29on Sunday because as it stands right now the Kyle Sheffers crew is calling the
- 36:33fewest offensive holding penalties per game so I'll be fascinated to see how this
- 36:38unfolds does Sheffers continue with that trend and maybe let them play a little bit
- 36:44more upfront or do they actually or are they actually forced because of these two
- 36:49teams to call more penalties in that category so keeping on that Sunday
- 36:54Sheffers awarding the most automatic first downs via penalty this season
- 36:58particularly on third down plays so they rank highly illegal contact defensive pass
- 37:03interference face mask that's a very random one but they rank up there in the top
- 37:07three so
- 37:09you know if you will be rewarded with this crew if you do throw more then you do run
- 37:14now whether that happens I don't know the game itself Baltimore obviously the better
- 37:18team Cleveland's a different outfit at home I mean we saw that game a couple of
- 37:23weeks back against Pittsburgh on the Thursday night game they've got a great home
- 37:26field advantage as we noted a very good home field referee for this contest
- 37:32look I'm going to side with the Browns here at home catching the points and that may
- 37:36go even higher as we get closer to the game right now it's sitting at about plus
- 37:40five so if Lamar plays that thing could get up to who knows but you'll be getting
- 37:44more than five points with the Browns if Lamar does actually play that remains to be
- 37:48seen it's going to be an old -fashioned AFC North Slugfest with the winner of this
- 37:53game actually having the outright lead in the division so curious to see how it
- 37:57unfolds but I like the Browns on Sunday plus the points that versus the Ravens all
- 38:01right Sunday night football Cowboys at the Packers Craig Wrolstad the referee so in
- 38:06the Dak Prescott era the Cowboys eight and two when Craig Wrolstad officiates that's
- 38:11their best record with any with any officiating crew over that period of time
- 38:15through 10 games however the Green Bay Packers not to be outdone they are a perfect
- 38:197 -0 straight up and against the spread with Wrolstad in the Matt LaFleur era at all
- 38:24time the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field 5 -0 straight up and against the spread
- 38:29with Craig Wrolstad so you got some positives from both teams there with this
- 38:32officiating crew as far as penalties go the Packers are one of the most penalized
- 38:36teams through five weeks of the season but it's quite misleading they have the
- 38:40largest road versus home discrepancy of any team in the NFL so penalized as a high
- 38:46rate on the road but at home they co -ranked San Francisco as the least penalized
- 38:50home team in the NFL so there's an advantage there for the Packers at home Sunday
- 38:55night if form continues then we've got to go to automatic first downs via penalty
- 39:00the Packers and the Cowboys defensive units top five surrendering in these penalties
- 39:05and then if we zero in on defensive pass interference the Cowboys the number one
- 39:09beneficiary and the Packers are a top 10 beneficiary of defensive pass interference
- 39:14and it just so happens that the Craig Wrolstad crew through five weeks of the season
- 39:19they ranked number one in penalty per game average for this particular category so
- 39:23you've got two teams that are very good at getting these penalties two defenses that
- 39:27commit a lot of automatic first down penalties and then an officiating crew that at
- 39:32this stage leads the league calling defensive pass interference and so you've got a
- 39:36ton of wide receiver talent out there Sunday night CD Lam George Pickens Christian
- 39:40Watson Matthew Golden it'll be interesting to see how they call it and to see how
- 39:45these teams approach the game Green Bay traditionally will just let it air out and I
- 39:49think Dallas will do the same Wrolstad's crew 4 -0 to the over this season averaging
- 39:53almost 53 points per game and I do like the over on Sunday night these teams play
- 39:58every year seemingly and they're always very high scoring exciting games I don't see
- 40:03this being any different and we've had some great prime time games in the 2026
- 40:07season and this one looks like it's going to be the next one in line to be one of
- 40:11those really high octane fun prime time games you know 34 -30 type final who
- 40:17the winner is look that remains to be seen Dallas will be a big week over week
- 40:21improvement they can't get any worse than what they put out there versus Tampa Bay
- 40:24last week they'll come in off a lot of negativity 10 day break but I still lean to
- 40:30the Green Bay Packers at home they're a very small favorite in this contest I've
- 40:33touched on some of the numbers they have with Wrolstad at home
- 40:37they'll have their moments where they look unbelievable they'll have moments where
- 40:40you pull your hair out with Green Bay what are they doing but I think when all is
- 40:44said and done over the course of 60 minutes I think they get the win at home on
- 40:47Sunday Night Football awesome breakdown once again from Joe really look forward to
- 40:52these every single week and again as a reminder Joe writes a detailed article which
- 40:57has information not just about these three games but information about all the
- 41:01referees all their tendencies and which games that they are refereeing this week up
- 41:07on Sharp Football Analysis .com so make sure that you check that out to never miss
- 41:12any analysis about the referees again before we get into our best bit of the week I
- 41:17want to give a quick shout out to our partners at OddsJam as you've seen on the show

- 41:43decide to stay on board this code will give you 40 % off your first month now let's
- 41:49get to my best bet of the week now it's time for my best bet of the week so far
- 41:55lifetime of the show 39 and 15 that's 72 % we got to get back on
- 42:01track here and for this I am looking to a game that we have discussed on multiple
- 42:06shows this week is the Atlanta Falcons taking on the Chicago Bears and we're looking
- 42:12at the running back Bijan Robinson and we're looking at his rushing yards right now
- 42:19this is live at Fanduil and Pinnacle at 89 and a half it is higher
- 42:25at DraftKings but you can also get 90 and a half very easily at Caesars, Hardrock,
- 42:31MGM there's more 89 and a half here Kowshi Novi etc so 89 and a half certainly
- 42:38attainable for Bijan Robinson total rushing yards now I will be perfectly blunt I
- 42:43was looking at his longest rush over but his longest rush has moved over the course
- 42:49of time since when it was first posted and the rushing market was very light I
- 42:54didn't feel comfortable giving it out until more books had it open and then when
- 42:58that happened it moved all the way up to 19 and a half as it took some early money
- 43:02to the over so we couldn't give out what I really wanted which was the over 18 and a
- 43:08half longest rush for Bijan Robinson so now we're pivoting to the over for his total
- 43:14rushing yards so what is the great situation for Bijan Robinson to hit at least 90
- 43:20rushing yards because that's a high threshold for any running back I don't care how
- 43:24elite you are well in large part it's due to the specific matchup of the Chicago
- 43:29Bears run defense so let's get into it the Bears are allowing the highest rate of
- 43:35three plus yards before contact per rush to opposing running backs they are allowing
- 43:40three plus yards before contact on a third of opponent rushing attempts 33
- 43:47% that is absurd that is the worst in the NFL and three plus yards before contact
- 43:52leads to bigger chunk gains leads to the 20, 25, 30 plus yard runs but it can also
- 43:59lead to 10 to 15 to 20 yard runs and I'm not sure how many or what
- 44:05frequency Bijan's going to get and so that's why I opted to just go with the total
- 44:10knowing that there's going to be some chunk runs I just don't know how many or how
- 44:14frequent they will be I've got a graphic to show you what makes it truly hard to
- 44:20comprehend as we pop this on the screen is that the Chicago Bears have played the
- 44:25number one easiest schedule of opponent explosive rushing attacks they have not
- 44:31played good rushing attacks from an explosive run perspective these rushing attacks
- 44:37that they played are very tight to the box they don't produce explosive gains we're
- 44:43talking like Green Bay Packers the New York Jets the Minnesota Vikings in an
- 44:48absolute monsoon which was week two even the Philadelphia Eagles that is not an
- 44:53explosive rushing attack this year and then the Carolina Panthers all the way back
- 44:58in week one where the Bears won that game by over 20 points and the Panthers had to
- 45:02stop running the football it makes it very difficult to rationalize
- 45:09how you could be that bad at allowing three plus yards before contact and overall
- 45:14they are allowing the number three worst rate of total yards before contact
- 45:21they rank 30th in yards before contact per rush while going up against this schedule
- 45:26of opposing rushing attacks that aren't explosive in any way shape or form the
- 45:30easiest in the NFL Bajon Robinson leads the NFL in yards after contact per rush
- 45:36gaining 4 .7 yards after contact so it seems like he's going to be able to get the
- 45:42yards before contact and then he brings yards after contact and that's just a recipe
- 45:47for disaster for the Chicago Bears defense
- 45:51the other factor here is an injury factor for the Chicago Bears the Chicago Bears
- 45:57Montez Sweat got suspended for two games for PEDs so he's not going to be there on
- 46:03outside zone plays which Rich Hribar talked a lot about in the matchup show in this
- 46:08game I encourage you guys to go check that one out talked about the fact that we the
- 46:14Elena Falcons run a lot of outside zone and they're going to have success doing that
- 46:19against the Chicago Bears who are one of the worst defenses and allow 10 plus yard
- 46:23gains versus outside zone at one of the highest rates in the NFL Montez Sweat was a
- 46:28big part of helping get the Bears where they were which wasn't great and now he's
- 46:32not going to be there with him off the field this team's EPA per attempt falls off
- 46:37their yards before contact per rush increases by 1 .2 full yards on outside zone
- 46:43runs when he's not on the field and now he's suspended for this game and this just
- 46:47happened last game like this is the first game that he's going to be missing they
- 46:52also first game that he's going to be missing Dio Odenbo who's another defense of
- 46:58alignment who really helps slow down the run game for opposing rushing attacks and
- 47:03TJ Edwards has been listed as week to week so both Odenbo and TJ Edwards were hurt
- 47:09in last week's game listed as week to week that makes them unlikely to play in this
- 47:13game they haven't practiced yet this week I think both of them are probably going to
- 47:17be out that's three starting defensive players on a unit that already was one of the
- 47:22worst in the NFL against the run now you're going up against Bijan Robinson I think
- 47:27he's going to have success here and let's just hope that the game state is good
- 47:32enough to allow him to get his 18 and a half rushing attempts that he's currently
- 47:37being aligned at I feel relatively confident that if he can get the 18 and a half
- 47:42rushing attempts he is going to clear 90 yards on the ground he probably clears over
- 47:47100 yards on the ground here given this specific matchup so the game state just has
- 47:53to be there for him to get the rushing attempts but if he does get those rushing
- 47:57attempts I think he is going to eclipse this number and get over 89 and a half
- 48:03rushing yards so that is the best bet of the week for week six it's not the bet that
- 48:09I wanted it's not a perfect bet but it is the best bet of week six let's hope we get
- 48:15back on track and we'll ride with Bijan Robinson and that'll do it for the week six
- 48:20sharp football analysis show the fastest growing betting show on the planet make
- 48:25sure that you guys are subscribed good luck with all your action and we'll see you
- 48:29again next week
