3 Rules for Genus Insight Progression + Best Stats | AION 2 — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00There are three rules that you have to
- 0:01follow when progressing your genus
- 0:04insight. The genus insight can give you
- 0:05a crazy amount of power and also combat
- 0:08power for your character, but you can
- 0:10actually do quite a few mistakes when
- 0:12progressing those boards. And that's why
- 0:14I will give you first of all three rules
- 0:16that you should follow when you work
- 0:18with those genus boards. And then at the
- 0:20end of the video, I will give you the
- 0:21exact stat lines that you want to go
- 0:24for. And yes, they are different to what
- 0:26people used in Korea and Taiwan. Okay,
- 0:29let's start with rule number one. Don't
- 0:31lock any of your stats before you are at
- 0:34least level nine 50%. Now, you might
- 0:37have noticed every time you level your
- 0:39board, you will also change all of the
- 0:42stats in this board. Of course, you can
- 0:45lock individual stats, but you can see
- 0:47that the cost of rolling your stats or
- 0:49leveling your board is going up like
- 0:52crazy. If you lock five stats, we have
- 0:54to pay 172
- 0:56crystals and 43,000
- 0:59Keena. And if we have no lock, we only
- 1:01pay 36 crystals and 9,000 Keena. It
- 1:05becomes a very fast, very expensive. And
- 1:08the problem is it's easier to roll good
- 1:11stats as soon as you're level 10. There
- 1:13are a few exceptions where it would be
- 1:15actually good to lock certain stats
- 1:17before you are level 10. But for most
- 1:20people that don't know what they are
- 1:21doing, you just bring your insight to
- 1:23level 10 and don't lock anything before
- 1:26that. Rule number one, don't lock
- 1:28anything early. Rule number two, don't
- 1:31just go for heroic stats and work with
- 1:33presets. So, heroic stats are the orange
- 1:36stats and these are the best rolls that
- 1:39you can get. And yes, they are
- 1:40incredibly good, but they are super hard
- 1:43to get. So, what usually most people are
- 1:45doing, they're working with presets.
- 1:48What does that mean? As you can see, we
- 1:49have here three different presets in the
- 1:52top. The first thing that we are going
- 1:53to do is we bring all of our boards to
- 1:56level 10. After that, we create a first
- 1:59preset that is good but not perfect. And
- 2:03we only focus here on the offensive
- 2:05stats. What exactly you want to go for,
- 2:07we will talk about in a second. It is
- 2:09just important to understand that we get
- 2:11a lot of power from these boards, but
- 2:13rolling the perfect sets is incredibly
- 2:16hard. And especially because it becomes
- 2:19more and more expensive the more stats
- 2:22we lock. If you want to go for the
- 2:24perfect rolls and you include from the
- 2:26beginning onwards already defensive
- 2:28stats, you will miss out on so much
- 2:31power for such a long time. That's why
- 2:34what you should do is work with presets.
- 2:37So, what you do is you create a first
- 2:38preset, which is good, but we will not
- 2:41have just heroic stats. We will also
- 2:43have a bunch of unique, so golden set
- 2:46lines, which is fine. And as soon as we
- 2:48finished all of those five boards, we
- 2:51will start on a second preset and
- 2:53completely mix max stats. But doing this
- 2:56takes so much time. And here this is
- 2:59especially important for people that are
- 3:01not playing 20 hours a day and farming
- 3:04just nonstop pets. This does not work.
- 3:06You will never be able to finish your
- 3:09genius inside. Please don't do this.
- 3:11Work with presets and don't just go for
- 3:13heroic stats. Okay, and rule number
- 3:15three, there is a specific order in
- 3:18which we roll our stats. We will not go
- 3:21into the auto analysis and just lock all
- 3:24the stats that we want for all of the
- 3:27nine slots and just keep rolling.
- 3:30Because some stats have just a way
- 3:32higher priority and are also a lot
- 3:34easier to roll. Okay, let me explain
- 3:36that. First of all, it's important to
- 3:38understand that all of the boards are
- 3:40structured in a similar way. Slot one
- 3:43and slot five are always your attack
- 3:46slots. So, as you can see, you have
- 3:48attack bonus, max attack, critical
- 3:50attack, front attack, back attack, PvE
- 3:52attack, boss attack, and also
- 3:54penetration, but mainly attack. Okay,
- 3:57this is slot one and slot five. Then on
- 3:59slot three, six, and nine, you get some
- 4:03defensive values like block and evasion,
- 4:05but then a bunch of accuracy, like
- 4:07accuracy bonus, PvE accuracy, and
- 4:10critical hit. So, let's call this our
- 4:12accuracy and critical hit slots. Then we
- 4:15have slots two and slot eight, which are
- 4:18our pure defensive stat lines. Here we
- 4:21have HP increase, which is a percentage
- 4:23HP increase, very, very strong, defense
- 4:26bonus, back defense, critical hit
- 4:28resist, you get the idea, a lot of
- 4:30defensive stats. This is slot eight and
- 4:33slot two. Then slot seven is also a
- 4:35defensive stat line, but a little bit
- 4:36more special, but on top of it, it has
- 4:39also some offensive stats, like PvE
- 4:41attack and accuracy bonus.
- 4:43>> [music]
- 4:43>> So, here we can actually also roll some
- 4:46offensive stats. So, those eight slots,
- 4:50everything except slot four, is exactly
- 4:52the same in all of those five boards.
- 4:55The only difference in those boards is
- 4:57slot four. And this is also always by
- 5:00far the best slot. So, for example, here
- 5:03on our Cockney inside, we can get
- 5:06critical damage boost, damage boost, or
- 5:08PvE damage boost, which is just a
- 5:10percentage multiplier for our damage.
- 5:13Incredibly strong. Way stronger than all
- 5:16of the other stat lines that we have
- 5:18here. Way stronger. Now, this slot four
- 5:20is a little bit different between those
- 5:23five boards, [music]
- 5:24but the stat line is always the best.
- 5:26And now the order becomes important on
- 5:29how we want to roll stuff. We will
- 5:31always start with slot four, because
- 5:34this is actually one of the stats that
- 5:36doesn't need to be heroic, as mentioned,
- 5:38but we also don't want to have it super
- 5:41low. That means we have to roll it quite
- 5:43a few times. Now, imagine you lock seven
- 5:46out of the nine stats, then every roll
- 5:49costs you 300 crystals. And now you want
- 5:52to roll, for example, PvE damage boost
- 5:55on slot four. This will cost you a crazy
- 5:58amount of crystals. And when you proc
- 6:00it, you get it maybe on 1.6%
- 6:03and then it's like,
- 6:05"I don't know. I want to take it, but
- 6:07actually it's super low. Should I keep
- 6:09rolling?" Don't do this. You always
- 6:12start with slot four. Doesn't matter
- 6:15what you get. It literally does not
- 6:17matter. You can have the perfect rolls
- 6:19because this stat line has the value of
- 6:22your whole board. Now, this 3.6% roll
- 6:25here is of course insanely good because
- 6:27the maximum is 4%, but I also rerolled a
- 6:311.6% PvE damage boost and this already
- 6:34cost me quite a bit of crystals. So,
- 6:37please don't do the mistake and lock
- 6:40your stuff early and always start with
- 6:43slot four. Then after you want to do all
- 6:46the other offensive stat lines. That
- 6:48means all the attack and all the
- 6:50accuracy and you will hit that stuff
- 6:51very, very fast. And then as mentioned
- 6:54in this first preset, we don't go for
- 6:56defensive stats. The defensive stats are
- 6:59for our second preset. Okay, we
- 7:01understood how we should progress our
- 7:03genius insight. Now, you need to
- 7:05understand what stats to roll. Let's
- 7:07start with our attack lines, so that
- 7:09would be slot one and five. Now, a lot
- 7:12of people will tell you attack bonus and
- 7:13max attack
- 7:14are the two god rolls that you want to
- 7:17go for. This is not the case anymore.
- 7:19Now, both of these are still very good,
- 7:22but they are not best in slot anymore in
- 7:25our version. In our version, actually
- 7:27PvE attack, back attack, and also boss
- 7:31attack are better stats. So, I want to
- 7:34keep this guide relatively simple. I
- 7:36don't want to make it too complicated.
- 7:38To make it short, yes, in the Korean and
- 7:40Taiwanese version, attack bonus and max
- 7:42attack was this. But this is because
- 7:45they had more percentage multipliers.
- 7:48But in our version, they removed a lot
- 7:49of those percentage multipliers. Now,
- 7:51this is important because all of those
- 7:54percentage attack multipliers only
- 7:56impact attack bonus and max attack. But
- 7:59because of the removal of those
- 8:00percentage multipliers, back attack, PVE
- 8:03attack, and boss attack became actually
- 8:05better in our version. But these are all
- 8:08very, very close. That's why I would
- 8:10highly suggest you, especially for your
- 8:12first board,
- 8:13go for all five if you're an assassin,
- 8:16because then you will always hit from
- 8:17the back. And if you're not an assassin,
- 8:19you will roll for those four stats. That
- 8:22will make it very easy for you to hit
- 8:24something. And for your first preset,
- 8:26that should be just a starting point,
- 8:29that is perfect. You can min-max the
- 8:31next preset. But if you were to min-max,
- 8:34PVE attack and boss attack is better in
- 8:37our version. But in general, for slot
- 8:39one and for slot five, go for those four
- 8:43attack values. And then for three, six,
- 8:46and nine, our accuracy and crit slots, I
- 8:50would always value accuracy higher than
- 8:52crit in our version. And this is simply
- 8:54because in our version, they reduced the
- 8:56crit chance from 80 to 50%, but I'm
- 9:00pretty sure they haven't changed any
- 9:01crit resistance or anything from bosses.
- 9:04They have basically changed nothing in
- 9:06our version. They just did a one-to-one
- 9:08copy. That means most likely we will hit
- 9:11all the crit thresholds anyways. So I
- 9:14would always suggest you here to focus
- 9:16on accuracy. But if you get some god
- 9:18rolls on critical hit, then this is also
- 9:20fine. So what I personally do here, for
- 9:23accuracy bonus, I would go for minimum
- 9:25unique. For critical hit, I go for
- 9:28heroic, because if I lock a critical
- 9:30hit, I want it to be really, really
- 9:32good. And then on top, I go for PVE
- 9:35accuracy, also for unique. So, I prefer
- 9:39accuracy here, but if I get a god-like
- 9:41heroic roll, that's also totally fine.
- 9:43Then I will [music] take that. That
- 9:45would be my rolls for slot three, six,
- 9:48and nine. Then we have our slot seven.
- 9:51Now, here again, later, if we do our
- 9:52perfect roll, we can actually do here
- 9:55some PvE damage tolerance or something
- 9:57like this. In my first preset, I will
- 9:59just go full on offensive. So, what I do
- 10:02here is I go for accuracy bonus and
- 10:05critical hit, I go again to heroic. So,
- 10:08again, I prefer accuracy, but it would
- 10:10be also fine if I get a god tier
- 10:13critical hit roll. Okay, so, these three
- 10:15categories here would be the same for
- 10:18all of the five boards. The only one
- 10:20that would be different is slot four.
- 10:22Now, here we have specific stats for all
- 10:24of the five different boards, and that's
- 10:27why we have to quickly go through them.
- 10:29First of all, the Kokanee board, here
- 10:31the interesting ones are critical damage
- 10:33boost, damage boost, and [music] PvE
- 10:36damage boost. Now, here, PvE damage
- 10:38boost is always the best. If you get a
- 10:40high roll on that, that is exactly what
- 10:42you want. But I also like to roll for
- 10:44damage boost because, let's say, I get a
- 10:472.8% damage boost roll, this is very,
- 10:50very good and more than good enough for
- 10:51our first preset. So, it doesn't matter
- 10:54if it's not PvE damage boost because the
- 10:56value of those two stats is exactly the
- 10:58same in PvE. Of course, damage boost
- 11:00would be better also for PvP. That's why
- 11:02I would always suggest you to also roll
- 11:04for damage boost. Then crit damage boost
- 11:07can be good if you have a god roll. I'm
- 11:10talking about 2.8 to 3% and on top you
- 11:14are a class that basically crits
- 11:16non-stop. So, if you're, for example, a
- 11:18gladiator and you make your overhead
- 11:20slam crit non-stop and you get here a
- 11:232.8% crit damage boost roll, then this
- 11:26stat can be still insanely, insanely
- 11:28good. So, for this critical damage
- 11:30boost, it really depends on the class.
- 11:32Okay, then the next board that we have
- 11:34is the Fera board. Here on slot four, we
- 11:37want to have weapon damage boost, damage
- 11:39boost, or again PvE damage boost. Now
- 11:42again here, PvE damage boost is in
- 11:44theory the best stat line, but if you
- 11:47get a high damage boost roll or a high
- 11:49weapon damage boost roll, this is still
- 11:51very, very good. If you didn't know,
- 11:54maybe short explanation, damage boost
- 11:55and PvE damage boost is pretty easy to
- 11:57understand, I think. It's just like a
- 11:59percentage multiplier at the end of the
- 12:01formula that gives you more damage. For
- 12:03weapon damage boost, it basically
- 12:05multiplies your equipment attack. Now
- 12:08the cool thing is, it's an independent
- 12:10multiplier from damage boost and PvE
- 12:13damage boost, so this one is not that
- 12:15heavy impacted by diminishing returns,
- 12:17but it's just impacting the equipment
- 12:19attack. So for example, some attack
- 12:21bonus that you get from your genus
- 12:22inside or PvE attack or PvP attack or
- 12:26whatever is not influenced by weapon
- 12:28damage boost. It's still a very, very
- 12:30strong stat, and if you get a high roll
- 12:32here on weapon damage boost, I would
- 12:34still take it, for sure. So I would roll
- 12:36for those three stats. Then next up, we
- 12:39have the Natura boards. Here, you only
- 12:42want to roll for PvE damage boost.
- 12:45Multi-hit chance and perfect chance are
- 12:47nice stats, but they are not even close
- 12:50to PvE damage boost. Okay, not even
- 12:52close. Perfect chance and multi-hit
- 12:54chance are both completely bait stats.
- 12:57You only roll here for PvE damage boost.
- 13:00Then next up, we have the Varium boards.
- 13:03Here we have again PvE damage boost, but
- 13:05now also back attack damage boost and
- 13:07front attack damage boost. Now back
- 13:09attack damage boost and front attack
- 13:11damage boost is a tiny bit better than
- 13:14PvE damage boost. Again, I don't want to
- 13:16bore you with too many details, but if
- 13:19you fully utilize the front and the back
- 13:20attack damage boost, it will be a tiny
- 13:22bit better than the PvE damage boost.
- 13:25This just has something to do with
- 13:26diminishing returns. We get a lot of
- 13:28different PvE damage boost and damage
- 13:30boost effects that will be all summed up
- 13:33and there will be some diminishing
- 13:34returns. That's why front and back
- 13:36attack damage boost is a tiny bit
- 13:38better, but not a lot. So, if you are
- 13:40already a positional class, like for
- 13:43example a Templar and a Gladiator, which
- 13:45always want to attack from the front or
- 13:46like an Assassin that always wants to
- 13:48attack from the back, then for sure try
- 13:50to go for one of those stats. But if
- 13:52not, if you're like a Sorcerer, a
- 13:54Spiritmaster or you are like a ranged
- 13:55class and right now it does not matter
- 13:58from where you attack, you can also try
- 14:01to roll for that and become a positional
- 14:03class if you want that. If you feel
- 14:06like, "Nah, I'm good. I just want to
- 14:08attack from everywhere." then it's fine.
- 14:10Just go for PvE damage boost. The
- 14:12difference between those stats, at least
- 14:14in season one, is not that high. And
- 14:16then the last one that we have is the
- 14:18special boards. Now, here most classes
- 14:22will try to go for double chance. In our
- 14:25version, we don't get a lot of double
- 14:26chance, which is just a chance to double
- 14:29your damage. It's an independent
- 14:30multiplier for all of our damage.
- 14:33Incredibly strong, but if you are like a
- 14:35positional class, it would be also fine
- 14:38to go for front attack damage boost or
- 14:40back attack damage boost. I would always
- 14:43still prefer double chance, but if you
- 14:45get a very high roll on front attack
- 14:47damage boost or back attack damage
- 14:49boost, if you anyways always attack from
- 14:51the front or from the back, then this is
- 14:53still very, very good. But as mentioned,
- 14:55don't make yourself a positional class
- 14:57if you're currently none. If you're like
- 14:59a Spiritmaster or Sorcerer, you will
- 15:01always just go for double chance. And
- 15:03yeah, that's basically it. Everything
- 15:04that you need to know to progress your
- 15:06genius insight efficiently. Okay, let's
- 15:09sum everything up again. Rule number
- 15:11one, don't lock anything before you are
- 15:13level nine on your genius insight. If
- 15:16you don't know what you are doing or
- 15:17what stats lock, just level it to level
- 15:2010. That's totally fine. Rule number
- 15:22two, work with presets and don't just go
- 15:25for heroic stats. It's only fine to lock
- 15:28unique stats because we will work with
- 15:31presets. We will first make a decent
- 15:34layout and then later on make a second
- 15:37preset that is going to be completely
- 15:39this. And the third rule, always start
- 15:42with slot four. First try to roll a good
- 15:45stat here on slot four before you start
- 15:49rolling all the other stats. But yeah,
- 15:51that's it. I hope it helped. If you have
- 15:52any further questions, ask me in the
- 15:54comments. Thanks for watching and I see
- 15:56you in the next one.
