- 0:00There are three types of people who say
- 0:02that everything happens by Allah. Hey,
- 0:05you will have to listen to me carefully
- 0:07. There are three types of people who
- 0:09say
- 0:10>> everything happens by Allah. There are
- 0:12three types of people who say
- 0:13everything happens by Allah. And all
- 0:19three types, all three types are at a
- 0:22loss. All three types, all three types
- 0:27say that everything happens by Allah.
- 0:31But all three types are at a loss. The
- 0:35very first type is of the Mushrikeen (
- 0:37polytheists). The very first type is of
- 0:41the Mushrikeen. They say everything
- 0:43happens by Allah. They also say
- 0:46>> everything happens by Allah. Now look,
- 0:48there are countless Hadiths and
- 0:49countless incidents regarding the
- 0:51disbelievers. These disbelievers
- 0:53themselves said this to the Prophet of
- 0:55Allah. They themselves told the Prophet
- 0:56of Allah that everything happens by
- 0:58Allah. Allah has also described this in
- 1:02the Quran. If you ask them now, who
- 1:04created the heavens and the earth? Who
- 1:06created the moon and the sun? Then all
- 1:10of them will collectively say in one
- 1:12voice, "La khalaqahunnal 'azizul' alim,
- 1:14" that these things were created by the
- 1:16Allah who is All-Mighty and All-Knowing
- 1:18. Just listen. So, this is one type,
- 1:26the Mushrikeen. Who say Allah is the
- 1:29One who does it, but He will do it
- 1:32through idols. What do they say? Allah
- 1:37is the One who does it, but through
- 1:39idols. One type. The second type is
- 1:42that which says that Allah is the One
- 1:50who does it. Who say that Allah is the
- 1:54One who does it, but He will do it
- 1:57through means (asbab). This is the
- 2:02second type. This is also a failure.
- 2:06This is also, this is also a failure.
- 2:10This is also a failure. The second type
- 2:13is those who say that Allah is the One
- 2:16who does it. But He will do it through
- 2:20means. This is also a failure. The
- 2:24third type there is another third type.
- 2:30They say Allah is the One who does it,
- 2:31but it will happen through the friends
- 2:33of Allah (Awliya). Do you understand
- 2:37what I am saying? But
- 2:40>> it will happen through the friends of
- 2:42Allah. At this time, in this era, such
- 2:45people are in the majority. Who say
- 2:49that Allah will solve the problem. But
- 2:52it will happen through the friends of
- 2:53Allah. You ask the friends of Allah,
- 2:59think, people wander around, wander
- 3:03around, keep searching, hoping to find
- 3:05some elder whose miracle has been
- 3:07revealed, so that I can tell him, "You
- 3:09get my work done." These friends of
- 3:14Allah have special proximity to Allah
- 3:16Almighty. When they get their request
- 3:20fulfilled by Allah, they will get ours
- 3:22fulfilled too. This is that type. They
- 3:27are the most troubled ones. They are
- 3:31the most troubled ones. All three say
- 3:35that, all three say that it will happen
- 3:39by Allah. But among them, the power of
- 3:41Allah is not with a single one of them.
- 3:47The power of Allah is not with any
- 3:49single one of them. This is something
- 3:54to be understood. All three say that it
- 3:58happens by Allah. But none of the three
- 4:01actually benefit from the essence of
- 4:03Allah. Oh my, this is where it has
- 4:09become complicated. Because the matter
- 4:14of deeds is such that deeds are the
- 4:17means to benefit from the essence of
- 4:19Allah. Deeds are meant to benefit from
- 4:25the majesty of Allah. He used to say
- 4:29that removing belief in the universe is
- 4:34a prerequisite to benefit from the
- 4:38power of nature. Whoever you see here,
- 4:42they will work hard on the means. Then
- 4:45they will hope from Allah. People place
- 4:48all their hopes on Allah. Based on the
- 4:51means. They have a shop, but the hope
- 4:56is in Allah. What a loss this is. They
- 5:02have a shop, but the hope is in Allah.
- 5:05They have a factory, but the hope is in
- 5:08Allah. They have a government, but the
- 5:11hope is in Allah. Hey, what kind of
- 5:14talk is this? They should say, I have
- 5:17prayer, and my hope is in Allah. I am
- 5:23kind in my dealings with customers, and
- 5:25my hope is in Allah. I spend on widows
- 5:28and orphans. My hope is in Allah. Think
- 5:32about it. If material means were worthy
- 5:36of placing hope in Allah. If material
- 5:40means, the means of the world, were
- 5:42worthy of hope from Allah, then people
- 5:45would not fail in their means. These
- 5:48are not things worthy of placing hope
- 5:51in Allah. It will be very difficult to
- 5:55understand this point. Because our
- 5:57nature has become accustomed to this.
- 6:00That you strive on the means and pray
- 6:04to Allah. Strive. Strive on the means
- 6:09and pray to Allah; this is how the life
- 6:11of Muslims is running. Yes, indeed!
- 6:15Although, what right does the one
- 6:17striving on means have to hope from
- 6:20Allah? The right to hope from Allah
- 6:25belonged to the one who offered good
- 6:27prayer, good remembrance, good
- 6:28recitation, and deeds of kindness
- 6:30toward neighbors to Allah. He is the
- 6:35one...he has the right, the right to
- 6:39hope from Allah belongs to him. Present
- 6:42the deed. O Allah, this is the deed I
- 6:45have performed. I have hope in Your
- 6:46essence. All hopes from Allah have been
- 6:51placed based on material means. This is
- 6:55why people ask Allah for the means more
- 6:57than they ask for their needs. People
- 7:01do not ask Allah to fulfill their needs
- 7:02. What a strange thing! They ask Allah
- 7:07for the means instead of asking for the
- 7:09need. Instead of asking Allah for the
- 7:14need, they ask for the means, saying, "
- 7:17O Allah!""Grant healing through this
- 7:19doctor." Oh! Why did you make Allah's
- 7:22power dependent on the doctor? You
- 7:25should say: "O Allah!""You grant
- 7:26healing," O Allah! Grant healing,
- 7:31whether through a doctor or without a
- 7:33doctor. "Why don't you say that? O
- 7:35Allah, fulfill my needs. Through wealth
- 7:38, or without wealth; through the shop,
- 7:39or without the shop. By including
- 7:43causes in our prayers, we have made
- 7:47Allah's power dependent on the means.
- 7:52We made Allah's power bound by causes.
- 7:56So I submitted that this is what faith
- 7:59in Allah is called. Faith in Allah
- 8:03means that we believe in Allah as one
- 8:06in His essence and also in His
- 8:09attributes.
- 8:11>> We believe He is unique. If you believe
- 8:14in His oneness regarding His essence
- 8:16but not in His attributes, then in His
- 8:18attributes of being the Most
- 8:20Compassionate, Most Merciful, Forgiving
- 8:22, and Provider, if you do not believe
- 8:24Allah is the only One, then to obtain
- 8:26these things, you will turn to others
- 8:28besides Allah. This was the reason why
- 8:33the polytheists believed in Allah as
- 8:35one. But they had distributed Allah's
- 8:38attributes among their idols. Yes, that
- 8:45was the point, they had distributed
- 8:47Allah's attributes among the idols. All
- 8:52of Allah's attributes were distributed.
- 8:55Among the idols. Uzza, Lat, Manat—
- 9:02these were the names they had given
- 9:05their idols, and their tasks were
- 9:09divided such that whenever they went to
- 9:13an idol, they kept that specific need
- 9:17in mind, thinking this need relates to
- 9:21this one, and that need relates to that
- 9:25one. The need exists, and the One who
- 9:29fulfills it is Allah; the question
- 9:32isn't whether Allah is the Doer. The
- 9:34question is, what are the protocols for
- 9:37Allah's actions? Come to that. What are
- 9:41the ways of Allah's actions? What are
- 9:43the paths to getting things done? It is
- 9:45not just about saying" Yes, Allah will
- 9:46do it. "Yes, Allah will certainly do it
- 9:48. So you believed in 'La ilaha illallah
- 9:50'. Why did you leave out 'Muhammadur
- 9:52Rasulullah'? It is an essential part of
- 9:55the Kalima. It is an essential part of
- 9:58the Kalima. It means precisely that
- 10:00Allah is the Doer. There is no other
- 10:02doer. The protocols for action are the
- 10:05ways of Muhammad (peace be upon him).
- 10:08That is how the Kalima is completed.
- 10:12They said we believe in Allah. In His
- 10:17angels. In His angels. We believe in
- 10:24angels as Allah's closest, obedient,
- 10:27and worshiping creation. Our faith is
- 10:32in the existence of the angels. Our
- 10:36faith is not in things happening
- 10:37through the angels. Our faith is in the
- 10:41existence of the angels. Our faith is
- 10:44not in things happening through the
- 10:46angels. And Allah alone is the Doer. It
- 10:48does not happen even through the angels
- 10:49. When it does not happen through
- 10:52Allah's most powerful and closest
- 10:55creation, then what standing does the
- 10:58material world have? So I mentioned
- 11:04that one thing they said is that we
- 11:06believe in Allah and His angels. To
- 11:10believe in His books means that the
- 11:12book's prohibitions should stop you
- 11:14from committing sins. Otherwise, the
- 11:18Prophet (peace be upon him) said about
- 11:20the one who mocks that he is playing
- 11:23with the Quran, and that person who
- 11:25considers what is forbidden in the
- 11:28Quran as lawful has not believed in the
- 11:30Quran. This was said regarding those
- 11:33who mock it. Otherwise, even
- 11:35non-Muslims, polytheists, and
- 11:37disbelievers used to acknowledge that
- 11:39the Quran was indeed the Quran. In fact
- 11:42, they didn't just acknowledge it. They
- 11:45were jealous. Obviously, a person will
- 11:48be jealous of something they consider
- 11:50significant. Something they value, oh!
- 11:55Whatever wealth they have, you will
- 11:56feel jealous of it, right? Why, brother
- 11:58? You value the wealth, don't you? If
- 11:59Allah has wealth, what will they do?
- 12:01The polytheists would be jealous of
- 12:03that. The Meccans were jealous, asking
- 12:06why the Quran was revealed to him. Hey,
- 12:09what does it matter to you why the
- 12:10Quran was revealed? It is the final
- 12:12book, the final revelation. Yes, and
- 12:16such a great book and such excellent
- 12:20speech has surpassed all the poets. Why
- 12:24was this Quran revealed to him? He,
- 12:26whose childhood was spent in orphanhood
- 12:29. Now, the great chiefs of Taif and
- 12:31Mecca are present. Why wasn't the Quran
- 12:33revealed to them? Tell me. The poor
- 12:37Muslim of this era is helpless. Yes,
- 12:39brother, we know that the Quran is
- 12:41Allah's book. This is our faith. Who
- 12:45else knew this much? The polytheists of
- 12:48Mecca knew it. Today, the Muslim is
- 12:51carefree and satisfied just by knowing
- 12:54this much. The polytheists of Mecca
- 12:56knew this much, that the Quran is the
- 12:59book of Allah. Yes, indeed. And it was
- 13:05said that Ali (may Allah be pleased
- 13:07with him) used to say that only a sign
- 13:09of the Quran would remain. Only a trace
- 13:14of the Quran will remain, or at most,
- 13:18people will consider the right of the
- 13:21Quran to be just reciting it. I should
- 13:25recite it. Yes. In places, in those
- 13:30countries where Islam has been
- 13:32completely wiped out. In those
- 13:35countries where Islam has been
- 13:36completely erased and no sign of Islam
- 13:38remains there. The elderly people there
- 13:42say that yes, our elders used to read a
- 13:45book. Our elders used to read a book.
- 13:53Our elders used to read a book. A group
- 13:57went to a region. There An old woman
- 14:03brought a wooden box. She opened it and
- 14:07took out another box. Wait, stop. Hey,
- 14:09travelers, stop, I will show you
- 14:11something. A very old woman took out a
- 14:15Quran from that box. Brother, what is
- 14:19this thing? This has been passed down
- 14:23from my elders. Our grandfathers and
- 14:25great-grandfathers used to read it.
- 14:27What is this? People thought it was a
- 14:37Jewish woman and left her alone,
- 14:38thinking what is there to talk about.
- 14:41Although in her house, there was the
- 14:44Quran; I was submitting that it is
- 14:46Hazrat Ali's saying that only the
- 14:48traces of the Quran will remain. And
- 14:52even today, the poor Muslim only
- 14:54understands that the right of the Quran
- 14:56is just to be recited. The right of the
- 15:01Quran is just to be recited. No. The
- 15:03case that the Quran will file against
- 15:05Muslims on the Day of Judgment. When
- 15:08the Quran files a case against Muslims
- 15:11on the Day of Judgment and pushes them
- 15:14towards Hell. They will not be those
- 15:18who do not recite it. They will not be
- 15:22those who do not recite it. Otherwise,
- 15:27Namaz is obligatory. Namaz is
- 15:29obligatory. This much recitation of the
- 15:33Quran happens in Namaz itself. It does
- 15:36not mean those who do not recite it.
- 15:39The Quran will file a case. Against the
- 15:44Muslims on the Day of Judgment, they
- 15:46will be the Muslims who did not act
- 15:49upon the Quran. Who do not act upon the
- 15:53Quran. Those who did not act upon the
- 15:58Quran, the Quran will file a case
- 16:01against them; 'Quran Mahjoor'— '
- 16:03Mahjoor' is called the one who turns
- 16:06their back on someone's command. Turns
- 16:13their back on someone's command; they
- 16:15had turned their backs on the
- 16:17commandments of the Quran, they avoided
- 16:19its commands.
- 16:22>> They avoided its commands, so the Quran
- 16:25will complain to Allah, and the
- 16:28complaint and the case of the Quran
- 16:32will be accepted by Allah. It will be
- 16:36accepted by Allah here. So I submitted
- 16:40that they said one thing, that we
- 16:43believe in Allah's books, His
- 16:46messengers, and the Day of Judgment. We
- 16:51have faith in them. He asked, so what
- 16:56are the five things that you act upon?
- 17:01What are the five things that you act
- 17:04upon? That we have five things that we
- 17:08act upon. The first thing is that we
- 17:13bear witness to the testimony. They did
- 17:16not consider this just a thought or
- 17:18concept, but included it in action.
- 17:20Look, this is very important. They
- 17:24included this in action. To keep
- 17:27bearing witness that there is none
- 17:30worthy of worship except Allah. And
- 17:32Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. To
- 17:36keep bearing witness to this is our
- 17:39first act. That is why scholars have
- 17:43written that stating the Oneness of
- 17:46Allah is an end in itself. And
- 17:49knowledge of commandments is not an end
- 17:52in itself; it is intended for action.
- 17:54That is why one can be finished with
- 17:56knowledge. This knowledge is finite.
- 17:59But it is intended for action. One is
- 18:01not finished by stating the Oneness of
- 18:03Allah. Because stating His Oneness is
- 18:05limitless. Stating His Oneness is
- 18:08limitless. And stating His Oneness is
- 18:11an end in itself. Look, this is a very
- 18:14common matter. The theme of our rounds
- 18:17is that we want to gather people in the
- 18:19mosque to explain the oneness of Allah.
- 18:23This is the theme of the round. This is
- 18:26the theme of the round. That we want to
- 18:30gather people in the mosque to explain
- 18:33the oneness of Allah. I am saying this
- 18:36because a person should not just keep
- 18:38the testimony of Allah's Oneness and
- 18:40the Prophet's Prophethood as a mere
- 18:43concept in their heart. This is not
- 18:46something like that. Listen, you will
- 18:50have to listen to what I am saying with
- 18:53great attention. This is a constant
- 18:57action. This is a constant action. Just
- 19:00as performing Salah is an action.
- 19:01Fasting is an action. If a man just
- 19:04imagines fasting, it is not fasting. If
- 19:06he imagines Salah, that is not called
- 19:08Salah. Performing Salah is what is
- 19:10called Salah. Fasting and giving Zakat
- 19:14is what is called Zakat. Just like that
- 19:17, declaring the Oneness of Allah.
- 19:20Declaring the oneness of Allah Almighty
- 19:23. Daily, collectively, or individually,
- 19:29declaring the oneness of Allah is an
- 19:34action. Are you understanding what I am
- 19:37saying or not? This is an action. Even
- 19:43now, you can see all over the world
- 19:45that Muslims do not count declaring the
- 19:48oneness of Allah as an action. Rather,
- 19:52they consider the concept in their
- 19:55heart that Allah is one. They consider
- 19:58the concept in their heart as the
- 20:00declaration of Tawheed. This point of
- 20:04ours is very important. In this way,
- 20:09performing daily Salah is an action.
- 20:13Fasting in the month of Ramadan once a
- 20:15year is an action. Giving Zakat on
- 20:18wealth after a year is an action.
- 20:21Similarly, declaring the oneness of
- 20:24Allah is an action. It is not enough to
- 20:28say" I am a Muslim. "We already know
- 20:29that Allah is one. What is the matter?
- 20:35I requested that you reflect on this
- 20:37narration. If you reflect on this
- 20:41narration, then all of our work is
- 20:45based on these five things. In which
- 20:50the first is Shahadah, to give
- 20:52testimony. The second action is that we
- 20:57establish Salah. We establish Salah.
- 21:02There are two meanings to" establishing
- 21:05. "One is collective, one is individual
- 21:10. Individual means that we perform
- 21:12Salah better and better and correctly.
- 21:17Briefly, I would say that a person who
- 21:19commits sins despite performing Salah
- 21:22should look for the causes of their
- 21:24sins in their Salah. Look for the
- 21:32causes of sin in Salah. And people are
- 21:37looking for the causes of sin outside.
- 21:41Where are people looking for the causes
- 21:42of sin? Outside. Some say," Brother,
- 21:46irreligion is coming from the outside
- 21:48environment. "Some will say," No, there
- 21:51are many dens of sin built from which
- 21:53irreligion is coming. "Some will say,"
- 21:56No, Satan makes us commit sins. "It is
- 21:59strange. A human's limbs are their
- 22:06practical wealth. A person's own limbs
- 22:09are our assets. But they have blamed
- 22:12all their lack of faith on the
- 22:15environment or on Satan. Whatever sin
- 22:20is committed, they say Satan made them
- 22:23do it. Satan is making it happen. This
- 22:26is very easy. It is very easy for a man
- 22:29to commit a sin. And blame it on Satan.
- 22:34Yes. Hala Ali used to say that if a
- 22:38person wakes up in the morning and
- 22:40recites Surah Ikhlas 10 times after
- 22:43Fajr, then all the devils together,
- 22:45despite their best efforts, cannot make
- 22:48him commit a sin until night. They are
- 22:56like partners, aren't they? Partners.
- 22:59Which partners? When they suffer a loss
- 23:03in their business, they blame each
- 23:05other. Brother, you must have done it,
- 23:08or you must have done that. That is how
- 23:10it is in business partnerships, in
- 23:14shops, or in factories, yes. So no one
- 23:18will say," Yes, this loss happened
- 23:19because of me. "Our situation with
- 23:22religion has become similar. That when
- 23:24they suffer a loss. Then they have made
- 23:27Satan their partner. They cast the
- 23:32blame on him. They say it happened
- 23:35because of him. Even though it is such
- 23:38a simple matter. Because the truth is
- 23:43that when human limbs are not used
- 23:46correctly in prayer, they are used
- 23:48incorrectly outside of prayer. It is
- 23:53such a simple matter. If a Muslim's
- 23:56limbs are not used correctly in prayer.
- 24:00Then they are used incorrectly outside
- 24:03of prayer. Keep your gaze under control
- 24:05during prayer. Your gaze will remain
- 24:08under control outside of prayer.
- 24:11Because prayer is the means to extreme
- 24:14closeness to Allah. One who cannot keep
- 24:16his limbs under control in prayer, how
- 24:19can he keep them under control in other
- 24:22areas or environments outside of prayer
- 24:25? The one whose limbs are restless in
- 24:31prayer. Why would his limbs not be
- 24:34restless outside of prayer? That is why
- 24:37I suggested that you search for the
- 24:40causes of your sins within your prayer.
- 24:45Just as the causes of an illness are
- 24:48searched for inside the body. Not
- 24:50outside. The causes of illness are in
- 24:55the body, not outside. You see, rashes
- 25:00have appeared. There is a persistent
- 25:04fever. Why, brother, won't it be
- 25:08checked? Everything will be about your
- 25:13body. There is heat in the blood. There
- 25:16is an allergy in the blood. Somewhere
- 25:19they will say you have diabetes.
- 25:22Somewhere they will say your kidneys
- 25:24are not functioning. Why, brother? By
- 25:29looking at the exterior of the body, a
- 25:31check-up of the interior is performed.
- 25:34Similarly, I am suggesting that in any
- 25:36field of the world, whether in trade,
- 25:39agriculture, governance, society, or
- 25:41personal affairs, wherever a command is
- 25:43broken, first check whether the use of
- 25:45your body is correct in terms of prayer
- 25:48or not. Whether the use of the body is
- 25:53correct in terms of prayer or not. I
- 25:57say this because people find it strange
- 25:59that we should look for the causes of
- 26:02sins within ourselves. Because, poor
- 26:05things, they do not understand the
- 26:06point. That is why I gave an example to
- 26:09explain. That when it is necessary to
- 26:14look for the causes of physical
- 26:15ailments within the body, then where
- 26:18else could the causes of spiritual
- 26:20illnesses be, if not inside? Did you
- 26:23understand the point? Because the soul
- 26:25and the body are both interconnected
- 26:28within the body. The soul is also in
- 26:30the body. And the body is also with the
- 26:33soul. So it was said that we establish
- 26:36prayer. Meaning, we pray correctly. And
- 26:39another meaning of establishing prayer
- 26:42is that we implement it. Establishing
- 26:45prayer does not mean that a few people
- 26:47just come and pray. There must be an
- 26:49establishment of prayer. Establishing
- 26:50prayer means that no Muslim should
- 26:53remain without prayer. No Muslim
- 26:58>> Should remain without prayer. This is
- 27:00what it means to establish prayer; that
- 27:01prayer is established. Meaning, the
- 27:03Ummah is united upon prayer. We observe
- 27:08the fasts of Ramadan. We perform the
- 27:10Hajj of the House of Allah. We pay
- 27:12Zakat. These five things are within us.
- 27:17We act upon these. And there are five
- 27:20things within us from the Age of
- 27:22Ignorance. Five things are within us
- 27:25from the Age of Ignorance. We have
- 27:28patience within us. We have patience
- 27:31within us. Look, a person makes the
- 27:33most progress through patience.
- 27:35Patience means to abstain from the
- 27:37forbidden. Patience means to abstain
- 27:39from the forbidden. Patience means to
- 27:42abstain from the forbidden. We have
- 27:44patience within us. We have patience
- 27:48within us. When a test comes from Allah
- 27:52, we remain steadfast on His command
- 27:54during that test. People break the
- 27:57command during a test. They break the
- 28:01command during a test. A lawsuit
- 28:03arrives, so bribe the lawyer. Debt
- 28:07arrives, so take money through interest
- 28:09. It is strange. The circumstances that
- 28:14arise in business due to breaking the
- 28:17command, people want to fix those
- 28:19circumstances through interest. So I
- 28:27submitted that patience is to remain
- 28:29steadfast on the command during
- 28:31difficult circumstances. And gratitude
- 28:34is when a person is in abundance, they
- 28:36increase their worship of Allah amidst
- 28:38His blessings. This is called gratitude
- 28:42.
