- 0:00If you feel like your style has been off
- 0:03this year, it's probably not the
- 0:05clothes, it's the habits behind the
- 0:08clothes. As we head into 2026, I want to
- 0:11share 26 things that have genuinely
- 0:13changed the way that I get dressed. I'm
- 0:16sharing the mindset shifts, the mistakes
- 0:18I stopped making, and the small upgrades
- 0:21that made a massive difference. These
- 0:24are quick, these are actionable, and
- 0:26honestly, this might be one of my
- 0:28favorite videos that I've ever shared on
- 0:30my channel. Today, I'm also wearing a
- 0:32few of my favorites from Ideal. And I'll
- 0:35show them to you in more detail later on
- 0:37in the video. So, let's start with the
- 0:39number one mindset shift that changed
- 0:41the game for me. And it's the
- 0:43realization that there's no such thing
- 0:46as effortless style. We see this phrase
- 0:48being thrown around all the time. Her
- 0:50style is so effortless or that outfit is
- 0:53so effortless. But when you're seeing
- 0:55that finished outfit on YouTube or Tik
- 0:58Tok or Instagram, you're not seeing the
- 1:0010 not quite right outfits she had to
- 1:03try on first to get there. You're not
- 1:05seeing the years of work she did getting
- 1:07to know herself, the bad shopping habits
- 1:10she had to unlearn, the hours spent
- 1:12hunting for the right pair of jeans, or
- 1:15the trip to the tailor to make something
- 1:17fit perfectly. And when you're seeing
- 1:20perfectly dressed celebrities, you're
- 1:22not seeing the stylists behind them that
- 1:24have been working tirelessly for years
- 1:27to get where they are. It's worth
- 1:28remembering that you are only seeing the
- 1:31final product. Good style takes time,
- 1:34effort, and practice, and you get better
- 1:37every time you try. The right bra and
- 1:39underwear are just as important as the
- 1:42clothes. Your underwear needs to work
- 1:44with your outfit, not against it. One of
- 1:46my biggest pet peeves are VPLs or
- 1:50visible panty line. I'm sorry, I had to
- 1:53say it. I just can't unsee it. Your base
- 1:56layers should disappear under your
- 1:57clothes. So, think seam-free underwear
- 1:59or smooth t-shirt bras under anything
- 2:02tight or fitted. On the flip side, I'm
- 2:04not against your underwear showing as
- 2:06long as it's intentional. A visible lace
- 2:09bralette or a nice strap can be part of
- 2:12your outfit, but the key is that it
- 2:14looks deliberate, not accidental. The
- 2:16number on the size tag is a guide, not
- 2:19an absolute. Sizing is inconsistent
- 2:22across every brand, and even within the
- 2:25same brand. One pair of trousers might
- 2:27fit perfectly in your usual size and
- 2:30another cut from the same store can feel
- 2:33completely different. What matters is
- 2:36how the garment fits on your body, not
- 2:38the size on the label. I used to have
- 2:40this idea in my head that I had to be a
- 2:43small size because I'm short. And I'd
- 2:46immediately think that there was
- 2:47something wrong with my own body if it
- 2:50wasn't. But the more brands that I try
- 2:52and the more that I talk about style on
- 2:54my YouTube channel, the more I've
- 2:56realized it's literally not me. It's
- 2:59just the cut of the item. Now, when I'm
- 3:02trying out a brand, I take two or three
- 3:04sizes right off the bat, and I can
- 3:06adjust for my own proportions and take
- 3:10away the one that I think fits me the
- 3:12best or the one that gives me the
- 3:14silhouette or the proportion that I'm
- 3:16looking for. and it's taken so much
- 3:18pressure off getting dressed. Don't wait
- 3:20for the right occasion to wear your
- 3:22favorite pieces. Wear them whenever you
- 3:25want. We tend to save our favorite
- 3:27things for some imaginary perfect moment
- 3:30or big event. But your everyday life is
- 3:33just as worthy of beautiful things. If
- 3:35something makes you feel like the best
- 3:37version of yourself, then that is reason
- 3:39enough to wear it. Isn't there that
- 3:41quote that's like light your favorite
- 3:43candles and wear your favorite perfume
- 3:45or something like that? I always
- 3:47remember that because I have so many
- 3:49candles and perfumes sitting on my
- 3:52counter and I'm like, "Yeah, I really
- 3:54should use them. Otherwise, why did I
- 3:56buy them? They're just kind of sitting
- 3:57there collecting dust." And that's how I
- 3:59feel about my favorite jewelry from
- 4:01Ideal. I want to wear them everyday
- 4:03because they make my very normal
- 4:06everyday life just feel a little bit
- 4:09more special. I've been wearing Ideal
- 4:11for quite a few years now, and if I had
- 4:14to choose my absolute favorite, I think
- 4:16it would be this one, which is the Leah.
- 4:19This is a gorgeous pear diamond that
- 4:21floats really delicately just below your
- 4:23ear. It works perfectly for everyday
- 4:26looks like this because it's unique, but
- 4:28it's subtle, and it also pairs
- 4:30beautifully with so many other styles.
- 4:32So, next to it, I have in the Uma, which
- 4:34is this really elegant teardrop shape.
- 4:37Ideal's concept is to build your own
- 4:40unique collection using their studs. And
- 4:42with these studs, you can purchase
- 4:44add-ons to mix and match together. For
- 4:46the end of year, December party season,
- 4:49I like to go a little bit bolder. And
- 4:52so, I have on here the Ono add-on, which
- 4:55is this quite playful take on a hoop
- 4:57earring. And then I've mixed it with the
- 4:59solar cuff that you just hook onto a
- 5:01stud. And then that cuff can hook onto
- 5:04your ear as if you have a piercing
- 5:06there. And the diamonds on this chain
- 5:08are so fun. I love wearing this one.
- 5:11Recently, I've also been loving this
- 5:13add-on called the Capri. It's a pear
- 5:15diamond that hangs below the stud from
- 5:18the front. I like that it's playful, but
- 5:20it's also elegant. Ideal also have
- 5:23necklaces, and the one that I'm wearing
- 5:25today is the Leila. It's a very classic
- 5:28evil eye design, but made extra special
- 5:30by no less than 20 diamonds on it. I
- 5:33wear the pieces in 14 karat gold, but
- 5:35they also have white gold or rose gold
- 5:38depending on your preference. Ideal uses
- 5:40lab grown diamonds and they are hand
- 5:43selected from the top 1%. Lab grown
- 5:46diamonds are chemically identical to
- 5:48mind diamonds, but they are less
- 5:50damaging to the environment and they're
- 5:52cheaper, meaning that you are getting
- 5:55luxury quality and craftsmanship without
- 5:58the crazy high-end luxury prices. Plus,
- 6:02they truly deliver a luxury experience
- 6:04from start to finish. The packaging is
- 6:07absolutely immaculate, and they often
- 6:09include extra little surprises inside.
- 6:12You can really feel how much care goes
- 6:14into every part of the brand, and I can
- 6:17personally attest to the quality. I got
- 6:20my first pieces from them four, 5 years
- 6:22ago now, and they look just as sparkly
- 6:26and new and shiny today as they did
- 6:28then. If any of these pieces caught your
- 6:30eye, I will have everything linked in
- 6:32the description box. And of course, I
- 6:34have a discount code Adelene 10 for 10%
- 6:37off. Thank you so much, Ideal, for
- 6:39sharing your pieces with us and for
- 6:41always supporting my channel. The best
- 6:43outfits have something unexpected. The
- 6:46most interesting outfits usually have
- 6:48some kind of tension within them. Think
- 6:51something feminine paired with something
- 6:53masculine, sporty with preppy, chunky
- 6:56with delicate, or even a winter coat
- 6:58styled with a summer bag. Contrast
- 7:01creates balance, adds dimension, and
- 7:03stops an outfit feeling too one note.
- 7:06You don't have bad style, you're just
- 7:09not shopping for your lifestyle. When
- 7:11most people think they're not stylish,
- 7:13the problem isn't that they don't have
- 7:15good taste. it's that the clothes that
- 7:17they have in their wardrobe are not
- 7:19matching the lifestyle they're living. I
- 7:21had this exact problem when I stopped
- 7:24working in an office and started working
- 7:26from home. My wardrobe was full of
- 7:28structured trousers and blouses and just
- 7:31clothes that made sense for that version
- 7:33of my life. But when my dayto-day
- 7:35completely changed, it just made getting
- 7:39dressed feel so off. Once I started
- 7:41buying pieces that supported my routine,
- 7:45more comfortable trousers, practical
- 7:47shoes, and clothes that I can move in
- 7:49more freely, my style instantly felt
- 7:52more like me. Your style will improve
- 7:55naturally when it aligns with your life,
- 7:58not the one you used to have or the one
- 8:00you think you should have. Okay, this is
- 8:03for my petite girls or for anyone that
- 8:05just wants some extra height. I bought
- 8:07these heel inserts from Amazon, and you
- 8:10can just pop them into any boots that
- 8:12you own to give you a couple centimeters
- 8:14of extra height. Getting better at
- 8:16shopping pre-loved improves your style.
- 8:20This includes thrift shops, charity
- 8:22shops, curated vintage stores, or online
- 8:25consignment. When you shop pre-loved,
- 8:28you are looking and choosing these
- 8:30pieces outside of the context of trends,
- 8:33outside of perfectly styled mannequins
- 8:36or what's currently being pushed to you.
- 8:38It requires patience and the skill to
- 8:42sift through lots of different items.
- 8:45You're relying on your eye, your
- 8:47instincts, and your own personal taste.
- 8:50And that's why I've kind of have this
- 8:52theory that I think people who thrift
- 8:55often develop a better sense of style
- 8:58because you're not being guided by
- 9:01seasonality or marketing or trends and
- 9:04you're choosing things because you
- 9:07genuinely like them. Confidence and
- 9:09posture are part of your outfit. People
- 9:12respond to the energy that you put out,
- 9:14sometimes even more than the clothes you
- 9:17have on. And the way you carry yourself
- 9:20can elevate even just the simplest
- 9:22outfit. It's not just what you wear,
- 9:25it's how you wear it. This one might be
- 9:28a bit controversial, and I'm sorry to
- 9:31drop this on you right in the middle of
- 9:33shopping season, but cost per wear is
- 9:36kind of a lie. Dividing the price into
- 9:38smaller numbers sounds great, but it
- 9:41doesn't change the fact that the item
- 9:43still costs what it costs. Whether you
- 9:46wear it five times or 50 times, the same
- 9:48amount of money still left your bank
- 9:51account. So instead of relying on cost
- 9:53per wear as a deciding factor, how about
- 9:55asking a different question? Does this
- 9:58item actually add something meaningful
- 10:00to my wardrobe? And will I wear it as
- 10:02many times as I can? The cost of the
- 10:04item needs to make sense, not just for
- 10:07it to divide up nicely, but because the
- 10:11item has truly earned its place in your
- 10:14wardrobe. Four tools that every wardrobe
- 10:16needs: a steamer, a d-pillar or cashmere
- 10:20comb, a hole puncher for belts, bags, or
- 10:23shoes, and a ring sizer. You'll be
- 10:26surprised at how useful the ring sizer
- 10:28is, actually. Stay aware of trends, but
- 10:31don't let them dictate your style.
- 10:33Trends are great for inspiration, but
- 10:36they shouldn't be the foundation of your
- 10:38wardrobe. When you're aware of trends,
- 10:40then you can intentionally decide
- 10:42whether it's something you want to be a
- 10:44part of or not. Instead of being pulled
- 10:47into buying things that don't actually
- 10:49feel like you, avoid pairing a bright
- 10:52color with black alone. When we're
- 10:54unsure of how to style a bright color,
- 10:57we often default to pairing it with
- 10:59black because it feels safe. But black
- 11:03creates maximum contrast, which makes
- 11:06the bright color look even brighter and
- 11:09louder and harsher. Instead, try pairing
- 11:12that bright color with softer, more
- 11:15muted tones. Think of your beiges, your
- 11:18grays, your browns, or muted greens.
- 11:21colors that blend rather than compete.
- 11:25It keeps the outfit balanced and lets
- 11:27the bright shade feel intentional rather
- 11:31than overwhelming. And whilst we're on
- 11:33the topic of contrast, let's talk about
- 11:35high contrast versus low contrast
- 11:38styling. Sometimes an outfit can just
- 11:41feel off, but it's not the pieces that
- 11:43you're wearing, it's the contrast
- 11:46levels. High contrast outfits, for
- 11:48example, a light colored top and dark
- 11:51colored trousers create a strong break
- 11:54in the silhouette, and this can look
- 11:56sharp, bold, and graphic. On the other
- 11:59hand, low contrast outfits blend
- 12:01together a little bit more seamlessly
- 12:04and can create a longer line. Neither
- 12:07one is better than the other. It just
- 12:08depends on the look that you're going
- 12:10for. But if your outfit feels
- 12:12disconnected or the proportion feels
- 12:14off, try adjusting the contrast. You can
- 12:18either soften or harden the transition
- 12:21between your top and your bottom, or you
- 12:23can try matching your shoes to your
- 12:25trousers to create a more seamless
- 12:27finish. A tiny shift in value can make
- 12:30everything seem more cohesive. If an
- 12:33outfit feels boring, add texture.
- 12:35Texture instantly makes a simple outfit
- 12:38look more interesting. Swap a plain bag
- 12:40for a woven or a crocmbbossed one.
- 12:43Change your smooth knit for one that is
- 12:46chunkier and has more texture. Swap your
- 12:49plain blazer for a herring bone one.
- 12:51Even just one textured piece can change
- 12:54the entire outfit. This is one of the
- 12:56most important lessons I've learned this
- 12:59year. Just because you like something
- 13:01doesn't mean you have to own it. What
- 13:04you decide not to buy is just as
- 13:06important as what you do buy. Shoes
- 13:09change the entire mood of an outfit.
- 13:12They can completely shift the tone and
- 13:14the proportion of your whole look. A
- 13:16chunky sole adds visual weight and makes
- 13:18the outfit feel more relaxed and
- 13:20grounded. A sleek loafer instantly
- 13:23sharpens everything and pushes the
- 13:25outfit into a much smarter territory. A
- 13:28pointed heel lengthens the legline and
- 13:30adds that clean, elevated feel. Even if
- 13:33you don't change anything else,
- 13:35switching up the shoes can rebalance the
- 13:37silhouette and change the entire mood of
- 13:40the outfit. The most flattering color
- 13:42isn't always the one you're most drawn
- 13:44to. So, I recently did a color analysis
- 13:47when I was in Korea. I'm a deep autumn,
- 13:51by the way. And as we were going through
- 13:53the different shades of purple, purple
- 13:55is never a shade I would go for. We
- 13:58landed on this deep plum shade. and she
- 14:01said to me that if I want to dress up
- 14:04for an event, this is one color that I
- 14:07could go for. It's a color I never ever
- 14:10would have chosen for myself. It's just
- 14:12not a color I naturally gravitate
- 14:14towards. But when she draped it on me,
- 14:16my features looked more defined, my skin
- 14:18looked warmer, and I actually felt quite
- 14:22sophisticated in this color. So
- 14:23sometimes the colors you overlook end up
- 14:26being the ones that can make you look
- 14:28and feel your best. Whenever an outfit
- 14:30feels like you, document it. Just take a
- 14:34quick picture and add it into a separate
- 14:35folder on your phone. It's one of the
- 14:37easiest ways to build your personal
- 14:40style. When you build up a collection of
- 14:42outfits that you love yourself in, you
- 14:45can reference this folder when you need
- 14:47inspiration. That way, you're looking
- 14:49for inspiration within yourself, not
- 14:52from Pinterest. You can iterate on
- 14:54outfits that you already know work. And
- 14:56that's exactly how personal style is
- 14:58built. And you also start to notice
- 15:01patterns. You'll start to see what
- 15:02silhouettes or colors or textures that
- 15:05you gravitate towards. And your own
- 15:07wardrobe becomes your best reference
- 15:10point. So, this next one took me a while
- 15:14to realize about myself. Are you
- 15:16shopping just because you're bored? I
- 15:18don't think we talk enough about how our
- 15:21emotions fuel our shopping. It's usually
- 15:24not about the item. It's about that
- 15:27quick dopamine hit or a boost in how we
- 15:31feel about ourselves. I've noticed that
- 15:33whenever I'm feeling insecure, that is
- 15:36the time when I suddenly want to buy
- 15:39lots of things. I think it's my mind
- 15:41thinking that this will be like an
- 15:44instant boost. But buying more things
- 15:46never actually fixes the insecurity. I
- 15:49mean, I'm still not a perfect shopper,
- 15:52but now whenever I want to buy
- 15:53something, I do sit and pause and wait a
- 15:57bit longer than I used to, and I ask
- 15:59myself, do I genuinely believe this
- 16:02piece will support my personal style? If
- 16:04the answer isn't an honest and confident
- 16:07yes, then it's usually just an emotional
- 16:10moment and not something that my
- 16:12wardrobe or my personal style actually
- 16:14needs. If you need to get your jeans
- 16:16hemmed at the tailor, don't just cut and
- 16:19hem them up. Ask the tailor to sew the
- 16:22original hem back on. That way, it will
- 16:24look like you bought them at the perfect
- 16:26length. Good style comes from
- 16:28functionality. Before anything else,
- 16:31your outfit has to work. Is your bag
- 16:34practical enough for everything that you
- 16:36need to carry? Are your shoes walkable
- 16:38for the amount of steps you're going to
- 16:40be doing that day? And what's the
- 16:41weather actually like? not what you wish
- 16:44it was like. When your clothes support
- 16:47your real life, your style will look
- 16:50deliberate without you even trying. Your
- 16:53hair is part of the outfit. A sleek bun
- 16:56makes an outfit look cleaner and more
- 16:59polished, whilst loose waves or a messy
- 17:01bun can instantly soften a look. Even
- 17:04something as simple as tucking your hair
- 17:06behind your ears or changing where your
- 17:09parting is can immediately change the
- 17:13feel of an outfit. This one sounds
- 17:15small, but it's genuinely changed the
- 17:18way that I get dressed since I started
- 17:20doing it. Seasonal wardrobe switchovers
- 17:22make getting dressed so much easier. I
- 17:25used to keep everything I owned in one
- 17:28wardrobe. Think summer dresses, thick
- 17:31wool blazers, leather trousers, linen
- 17:33trousers, everything altogether. And it
- 17:36created so much unnecessary stress and
- 17:39decision fatigue because my brain had to
- 17:42filter through all these things that I
- 17:44couldn't even wear. So when I started
- 17:46doing seasonal wardrobe switchovers, my
- 17:49style instantly improved because
- 17:51suddenly I was only looking at the
- 17:53clothes that made sense for that season.
- 17:56and getting dressed became simpler and
- 17:58faster. So, if you're not doing this
- 18:00yet, I highly recommend it. Style is
- 18:03shaped by your inputs. Your style isn't
- 18:06just created in your wardrobe. It's
- 18:08created in your mind first, the
- 18:10conversations you have with your
- 18:12friends, the films that move you, the
- 18:15music that feels like home, the books
- 18:17that you can't put down, the artists,
- 18:20the creators, and the people that you're
- 18:22naturally drawn to. All of these things
- 18:24shape your taste before you even
- 18:27purchase an item of clothing. When
- 18:29you're intentional about what you
- 18:31consume, your style becomes a reflection
- 18:33of your inner world and not just about
- 18:36what's trending. It's the end of the
- 18:38year and so I feel like I can be cheesy.
- 18:42Wear whatever the heck you want. Life is
- 18:45too short to save outfits for later, to
- 18:48worry about what people think, or to
- 18:50dress in a way that you've outgrown. If
- 18:53something makes you feel good,
- 18:55confident, and more like you, that is
- 18:57reason enough. Let me know in the
- 18:59comments which of these tips you're
- 19:00going to be taking into the new year, or
- 19:02if there's one you want me to go deeper
- 19:04on in a future video. I read all of your
- 19:06comments, and they really help to shape
- 19:09what videos I create next. If you want
- 19:11more practical style tips and you are
- 19:13interested in building a more authentic
- 19:16personal style, then this video on
- 19:18screen is a really good one to watch
- 19:20next. Thank you so much for spending
- 19:21this time with me. I honestly love
- 19:23filming these endofear videos. It feels
- 19:26like we are sitting down together,
- 19:28taking stock, and resetting for
- 19:30whatever's next. Thank you again to
- 19:32Ideal for sponsoring this video. I hope
- 19:35that you are all having a lovely holiday
- 19:37season, and I'll see you very soon in
- 19:39the next one. Bye.
