25 Years of Praying for the Sick With Almost NO Results...Until He Did THIS! — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00For the first 25 years, I prayed for a
- 0:02lot of people, but I might have seen 30
- 0:04people over those 25 years get healed.
- 0:06But I got a revelation that changed
- 0:08everything.
- 0:09>> Could you tell us some testimonies of
- 0:10some of the unbelievers getting healed?
- 0:12>> I went [music] into a computer store and
- 0:14the woman's staring at my mouth. She
- 0:15said, "I'm nerve deaf in both ears. I
- 0:17can't hear you." I said, "Read my lips.
- 0:19I'm going to put my hands on your ears.
- 0:20Jesus is going to do everything else."
- 0:22And she backed up, she goes, "Wow, I can
- 0:24hear. I can hear." And I thought, "Wow,
- 0:27that worked."
- 0:28I'm going to do that again.
- 0:29>> The devil wants us to get that
- 0:30nervousness [music] and the fear to
- 0:32claim that as this is who I am and I
- 0:34can't do this.
- 0:36>> It's like there's this little demon
- 0:37whispering in your ear and saying,
- 0:38"You're going to be [music] embarrassed.
- 0:39You better not say it bold like that.
- 0:40What if nothing happens? You'll be
- 0:41humiliated." That thought comes to my
- 0:43mind.
- 0:44>> These are huge keys to being effective
- 0:46in the harvest fields.
- 0:48>> I saw more people get healed the first
- 0:49month after God showed me something to
- 0:51change [music]
- 0:51than I had seen in all 25 years
- 0:53combined. And here's the key part.
- 0:57>> Right before we get into the podcast, if
- 0:59you want to help this reach more people,
- 1:01the best way you can do that is by
- 1:02leaving a five-star review on Apple or
- 1:04Spotify. And if you're watching or
- 1:06listening on YouTube, make sure to like
- 1:08and subscribe to the channel.
- 1:10Welcome to the Nicholas Boring Podcast.
- 1:11Today, we have with us Joel Crumpton.
- 1:13Joel, it's great to have you on.
- 1:15>> It's good to be here.
- 1:16>> Yeah, thanks for coming in. So, tell us
- 1:18a little bit about your life right now
- 1:20and what God has you doing in this
- 1:21season.
- 1:22>> Well, uh I've been in ministry since I
- 1:25guess I guess about 40 years, little
- 1:27over 40 years. I've been following Jesus
- 1:2948 years, but I wasn't in full-time
- 1:31ministry. I was just a soul winner.
- 1:33Uh in the early years, I didn't know
- 1:35what I was doing, so I did I'm I just
- 1:36made did more harm than good because I
- 1:39had a lot of zeal without knowledge.
- 1:41Right now, I'm doing a lot of uh we're
- 1:42still doing a lot of homeless ministry
- 1:44on the streets of Atlanta. And I
- 1:45traveled to different countries and
- 1:47equip people to do the works of Jesus. I
- 1:49wrote I wrote a book about it.
- 1:51Primarily, I I want to equip the body of
- 1:52Christ
- 1:54and everyday Christians, not just people
- 1:55that are in full-time ministry, but
- 1:57people that just sit on the pews and and
- 2:00listen to preachers. I want to equip
- 2:01them to do the works that Jesus did
- 2:04outside the walls of the church so that
- 2:07Christianity is no longer something
- 2:09that's boring.
- 2:10>> Mhm.
- 2:10>> It's something that's thrilling and
- 2:12exciting and and something that they can
- 2:14do between Sunday and Wednesday night.
- 2:17>> Amen. Now, you mentioned that you used
- 2:20to do more harm than good. You had a lot
- 2:22of zeal without knowledge. Give us a a a
- 2:25few examples of that cuz you're not the
- 2:27only one. I think a lot of people get
- 2:28out there in zeal without knowledge and
- 2:31the same things can happen. But, what
- 2:34what were some of the things that you
- 2:36were doing and that you would recommend
- 2:38not doing?
- 2:39>> Well, I I found this thing called the
- 2:41sinner's prayer. I found out about
- 2:42something called the sinner's prayer and
- 2:44I that that I thought that's how people
- 2:45got saved was just repeating a sinner's
- 2:47prayer after me. And so, I came up with
- 2:51a sinner with a good way to word it up
- 2:53what I thought was a good way to word
- 2:54the sinner's prayer. And I would get I
- 2:57would go talk to my friends. I talked to
- 2:58my one of my good friend's sister. He
- 3:01and I used to do drugs together before I
- 3:02got saved. And I got her to pray the
- 3:05sinner's prayer, but after after that
- 3:08happened, I noticed that whenever I went
- 3:09to visit her, she was like she didn't
- 3:11wouldn't come to the door. She kind of
- 3:12ran hid under the bed or something, you
- 3:14know.
- 3:14>> Mhm.
- 3:15>> She avoided me. And I noticed almost
- 3:17everybody that I got to pray the
- 3:19sinner's prayer with me in those early
- 3:20days
- 3:22ended up just like they were before. The
- 3:24only difference was they thought they
- 3:26were Christians, but they were living
- 3:28the same way they were before.
- 3:29>> Mhm.
- 3:30>> And that frustrated me. So, I remember
- 3:34I told the Lord one day I said, "Lord,
- 3:35I'm not going to do this anymore because
- 3:37I don't know what I'm doing." And it was
- 3:38almost an audible voice spoke to me and
- 3:41said, "Good."
- 3:42>> [laughter]
- 3:43>> I thought, "Well, I don't want to just
- 3:45stop."
- 3:46And he said, "I don't want you to stop.
- 3:47I want you to learn what to do." I
- 3:49sensed the Holy Spirit strongly saying
- 3:51to me I'm getting emotional talking
- 3:52about it because I remember it so well.
- 3:55I want you to learn how to win souls
- 3:57from reading Charles Finney's writings.
- 4:00So, I borrowed his autobiography
- 4:02from uh my best friend
- 4:04and I started reading it and it was
- 4:06blowing my mind to see what was
- 4:08possible. I didn't even know the things
- 4:11I was reading in that book were possible
- 4:12as far as the kind of conviction of sin
- 4:15that people could experience citywide.
- 4:18Mhm. When a whole city would get under
- 4:19conviction and and Finney said some of
- 4:21the of the cities or towns that he would
- 4:23go to
- 4:25he would uh set up a time for the people
- 4:27to meet who were concerned about their
- 4:29souls. Now, this was after they'd heard
- 4:30him preach a few times.
- 4:32They were concerned about their souls.
- 4:33They called it an anxious inquirers
- 4:35meeting.
- 4:36And he said uh he would appoint a
- 4:38particular time and he said the pastor
- 4:40and I pastor of the church where I was
- 4:42preaching and I would have a a quick
- 4:44breakfast and head to the meeting. He
- 4:45said people, when they saw us in the
- 4:47streets, they they started coming out of
- 4:49their houses. They would drop their ball
- 4:51their clubs on the on the green playing
- 4:53golf and they were running. They were
- 4:55coming from every direction and some of
- 4:56them were actually running to the
- 4:57meeting.
- 4:58And I'm thinking, I've never seen
- 4:59anything like that before. Mhm. Is that
- 5:01even possible
- 5:02for that kind of a move of God? And so,
- 5:05I started reading about it and I learned
- 5:07how to pray
- 5:08from people that knew how to pray and
- 5:10get get results. You know, not everybody
- 5:12knows how to pray that way.
- 5:14Everybody can, but not everybody does.
- 5:15So, I was learning from people who were
- 5:17not really seeing results before that.
- 5:20And they were going through the motions.
- 5:21It's kind of like riding a
- 5:23stationary bicycle. Mhm. They're
- 5:25pedaling like crazy, but they're not
- 5:27getting anywhere. They're just staying
- 5:28in one place.
- 5:29And I started seeing change and and the
- 5:32prayer was what the the first thing that
- 5:33made the difference was prayer.
- 5:35Learning how to pray and prevail in
- 5:37prayer for lost souls. Once you learn
- 5:40how to prevail in prayer
- 5:42and learn how to pray
- 5:43uh
- 5:44the prayer of faith for lost souls, you
- 5:47can actually see more people saved
- 5:49uh this is what my experience has been.
- 5:51I saw more people saved seemingly by
- 5:53accident
- 5:55than I could on purpose before that. I
- 5:57was reading a book by Charles Finney. It
- 5:59was a compilation of his teachings on
- 6:01prayer called Principles of Prayer. And
- 6:03so I'm reading it and I took it to work
- 6:04with me. I worked in a shoe store as the
- 6:06associate as the assistant manager at uh
- 6:08at a mall.
- 6:10And I'm reading the book and I and
- 6:11during my lunch break, I went over to a
- 6:13the food court and it was a Baptist
- 6:15fellow that uh had a restaurant called
- 6:18Kabobs. And we I got to talking to him
- 6:20about this book and he got excited about
- 6:22it. So uh on his lunch break, he comes
- 6:25over to the shoe store and wanted to see
- 6:27if he could borrow the book. Well, I'm
- 6:28waiting on a couple.
- 6:30A man wanted to try on some shoes and he
- 6:32had his wife with him. So he borrows the
- 6:33book and leaves.
- 6:35And I said, "Just open it anywhere, but
- 6:37you better wear a seat belt because that
- 6:38this is powerful. It'll it'll really
- 6:40move your your heart." So as he leaves
- 6:42with the book, I'm overwhelmed at the
- 6:44thought of him reading my that book. And
- 6:46so I don't even know why I said it to
- 6:47the customer, but I said, "That guy has
- 6:49no idea what he's about to read."
- 6:52He said, "What is it?" I said, "It's a
- 6:53book on prayer by Charles Finney." And
- 6:55the customer says, "Who's he?"
- 6:58I said, "According to church history,
- 6:59he's probably the greatest evangelist
- 7:00since the Apostle Paul. More of his
- 7:02converts never backslid than any man in
- 7:04history, just like I was mentioning a
- 7:05moment ago."
- 7:06So I'm get I'm telling the story to this
- 7:08guy and the woman that was with him, she
- 7:10looked like she was about to cry.
- 7:12Like her like somebody had hurt her
- 7:14feelings or uh like she was
- 7:17super self-conscious.
- 7:19I was I wasn't in a spiritual frame of
- 7:21mind at all because I wasn't picking up
- 7:23what was really happening.
- 7:24So I I hear the Holy Spirit on the
- 7:26inside of me say, "She's under
- 7:27conviction."
- 7:28And I thought, "Lord, I'm not even
- 7:29talking to her."
- 7:30I thought that.
- 7:32And and I felt the Lord say to me,
- 7:33"Well, I am."
- 7:35>> Mhm.
- 7:35>> I thought, "Well, she looks like she's
- 7:37under conviction."
- 7:38The look on her face, she had tears in
- 7:40her eyes, you know, to of she was kind
- 7:41of hot at
- 7:42>> Mhm.
- 7:43>> And uh so I just stopped talking to the
- 7:45man
- 7:46and I just looked over at her. She was
- 7:47sitting beside him. I said, "Can I ask
- 7:49you a question?" And she act acted kind
- 7:51of reluctant to answer me. She said,
- 7:52"What?"
- 7:54I said, "Is God dealing with you about
- 7:55your sins?" And she screamed, "Yes!" And
- 7:59fell over on her put her hands over her
- 8:01face and just kind of fell over forward
- 8:03on her knees
- 8:04and started crying. And the man looked
- 8:06at me like, "What did you do to her?"
- 8:07And I thought, "What am I going to do
- 8:09now?" Okay.
- 8:10My manager could walk back in at any
- 8:12moment and I'd be in trouble if they is
- 8:13a customer laying on the floor crying.
- 8:15So I just got down on one knee
- 8:17and I said, "Ma'am, I said the Holy
- 8:19Spirit's drawing you to Jesus right now.
- 8:22And Jesus said you can't come to him
- 8:23unless the Father draws you to him.
- 8:25Right now is your moment. You got to
- 8:27make up your mind."
- 8:28I said, "I know we're at the mall. I
- 8:30said, if I were you, I would go
- 8:31immediately down to the food court, get
- 8:33in one of the go into the ladies' room,
- 8:35get in one of those stalls if you have
- 8:37to and shut the door and don't come out
- 8:39of there until you know that you've
- 8:40surrendered your life to Jesus."
- 8:43I looked at the man that was with her. I
- 8:44guess it was her husband or her
- 8:46boyfriend.
- 8:47And I said, "If you try to hinder her, I
- 8:48know you're thinking about it
- 8:50talking her out of into just shaking it
- 8:52off. I said, "But if you try to do that
- 8:54and you succeed, she may end up in hell
- 8:56forever and God's will require her blood
- 8:59at your hands."
- 9:01And they got up and left real quickly.
- 9:02The moment they left, my manager walked
- 9:04in. They walked out that way, he walked
- 9:06in this way and I said, "Hey, I'm going
- 9:08to go put some stock away." What I
- 9:10wanted to do was as I'm putting stock
- 9:11away just be praying in the spirit. So I
- 9:13went back in the back and I'm just
- 9:14praying because I know what's going on.
- 9:17I know God's dealing with her.
- 9:18And about 15 minutes after I'm back
- 9:20there praying in the spirit, he said,
- 9:21"Okay." So he's watching the store.
- 9:23So he comes back and says, "Joel,
- 9:25there's a man out here there's a woman
- 9:26out here that wants to talk to you."
- 9:28I figured it was her and it was.
- 9:31So I go out there and she's beside
- 9:32herself with excitement. She's crying.
- 9:35She's hugging me three or four times.
- 9:36She kept slinging her hands. and she
- 9:37said, "I've waited my whole life for
- 9:38this. Thank you. Thank you." Well, she
- 9:40was alone. She wasn't with the man.
- 9:43And I And I thought I said, "Where's the
- 9:44Where's uh
- 9:45that man that was with you?" She said,
- 9:47"Oh, he's out in the mall out there."
- 9:49So, I looked over, and he was just kind
- 9:50of leaning over like like he was
- 9:52afraid to come in
- 9:54like get on him or something.
- 9:55>> Yeah.
- 9:56>> I used to couldn't get people saved on
- 9:57purpose.
- 9:58>> Mhm.
- 9:59>> And that woman got in conviction. I was
- 10:01talking to him. I wasn't even talking.
- 10:02She was just listening. And then what
- 10:04the Lord showed me was when you learn
- 10:06how to prevail with God in prayer,
- 10:09God
- 10:10it it's almost like the presence of God
- 10:12permeates the atmosphere around you.
- 10:15And people can feel his presence. That's
- 10:17really what got me saved.
- 10:19>> So, you didn't stop leading them in
- 10:21confessing with their mouth and
- 10:23believing in their heart.
- 10:24>> I did for a while because I wanted to
- 10:26make sure that they sta- that that they
- 10:28lasted.
- 10:29>> Mhm.
- 10:29>> That they that I wasn't inoculating them
- 10:32against the the gospel. If I take a flu
- 10:34shot,
- 10:36you know what's in that shot?
- 10:37>> The flu.
- 10:38>> Mhm. [clears throat]
- 10:39>> It's a version of the flu that's that's
- 10:41non-effective.
- 10:42And what it does it prevents them from
- 10:44getting the real flu. And that's what we
- 10:46do a lot of times when we share a
- 10:47watered-down version of the gospel,
- 10:50it inoculates them against the real
- 10:52gospel. They think they're okay.
- 10:54>> Yeah.
- 10:54>> But the truth is they're they're just
- 10:57inoculated. And the same is true about
- 10:59healing. In my early days, I was taught
- 11:01and still believe this that it's always
- 11:03God's will to heal the sick.
- 11:06The problem I had back in those days was
- 11:08I wasn't seeing
- 11:10uh
- 11:11everybody getting healed.
- 11:12>> Mhm.
- 11:13>> I saw once in a while I would see a
- 11:15healing. You know, we'd go to We have a
- 11:17lot of altar calls for a lot of
- 11:18different things, salvation, healing,
- 11:20the baptism with the Holy Spirit.
- 11:23And we would pray for people, and when
- 11:25they would receive whatever it was that
- 11:27they needed, we wouldn't know how we got
- 11:29it
- 11:30what we did differently to get them to
- 11:32receive, especially with healing and the
- 11:34baptism of the Holy Spirit. We would
- 11:36pray sometimes for an hour or two at the
- 11:38altar with somebody before they'd either
- 11:40get healed, filled with the Holy Spirit,
- 11:42or nothing. We'd finally just give up.
- 11:44>> Mhm.
- 11:45>> And so I thought, well, I can't change
- 11:47my theology just because I'm not seeing
- 11:49it.
- 11:50>> Right, which is big. A lot of people
- 11:52>> They do. They'll change it. They'll
- 11:53change their theology into thinking for
- 11:55instance for healing with healing for
- 11:56instance.
- 11:58A lot of people say, well, I prayed for
- 11:59a bunch of people and I know it
- 12:01I know I prayed in faith, but they
- 12:03didn't get healed. So I guess it's not
- 12:04always God's will to heal.
- 12:05>> Right.
- 12:06>> Well, I can't change my [clears throat]
- 12:07theology because the scriptures Jesus
- 12:10came to do the will of his father who
- 12:12sent him. And over and over and over it
- 12:14says he healed them all.
- 12:16The only time it says that he didn't
- 12:18heal them all was in his own hometown of
- 12:21Nazareth. And it says he marveled he
- 12:24said he could there do no mighty work
- 12:27except that he laid his hands on a few
- 12:29sick folks and healed them.
- 12:31And he marveled at their unbelief. So I
- 12:33thought, okay, unbelief even prevented
- 12:35Jesus from getting people healed when he
- 12:37prayed for them.
- 12:38But I was mistaken.
- 12:40That was not true. I thought he prayed
- 12:42for a lot of people in Nazareth and only
- 12:44a few got healed because of their
- 12:45unbelief. But that's not what it says. I
- 12:48I actually thought that's what it said
- 12:49in the Bible. But it actually says
- 12:52he did It doesn't say he laid his hand
- 12:53on many and a few got healed. It said he
- 12:55laid his he laid his hands on a few and
- 12:58healed them.
- 12:59>> Mhm.
- 12:59>> So why did he only lay his hands on a
- 13:01few?
- 13:02Because the people were offended at him
- 13:04and they wouldn't come to him for
- 13:06healing. But everyone who came to him
- 13:07got healed. Without exception.
- 13:09>> it doesn't make sense that the people in
- 13:11his own hometown are saying, "Look,
- 13:13here's his mom, there's his kids. Like,
- 13:15who does this guy think he is?" "Oh, but
- 13:17can you pray for me so I can be healed?"
- 13:19>> [laughter]
- 13:19>> It doesn't It doesn't make any sense for
- 13:21people to do that.
- 13:22>> at him. They thought, "Who does he think
- 13:23he is?"
- 13:24>> Right.
- 13:24>> And the The that did let him lay hands
- 13:26on them got healed. For the first 25
- 13:28years of of my walk with Jesus, I prayed
- 13:31for a lot of people, but I might have
- 13:33seen about 30 people over those 25 years
- 13:36get healed, maybe.
- 13:38I didn't count them.
- 13:40But I remembered most of them because,
- 13:42you know, you when you don't see that
- 13:43many, it's not hard to remember.
- 13:44>> Mhm.
- 13:45>> But I got a revelation
- 13:47about, well,
- 13:4923 years ago
- 13:51that changed everything.
- 13:53And since I got that revelation, I've
- 13:55seen more people get healed. I saw more
- 13:57people get healed the first month after
- 13:59I got after God showed me something to
- 14:01change
- 14:02than I had seen in all 25 years
- 14:03combined. It it flipped everything
- 14:05upside down.
- 14:07Or right side up, I should say.
- 14:08>> Yeah.
- 14:09>> When Jesus began his ministry,
- 14:12he
- 14:13the Holy Spirit descended upon him in in
- 14:14bodily shape like a dove.
- 14:16>> Mhm.
- 14:16>> He went into the wilderness. He was
- 14:17tempted and tested for 40 days and 40
- 14:19nights. He came out of the wilderness in
- 14:21the power of the Spirit, went into the
- 14:22synagogue in Nazareth on the Sabbath
- 14:24day,
- 14:26took they handed him the book of the
- 14:28prophet. It was a scroll of the prophet
- 14:29Isaiah, and he found the place where it
- 14:31was written and read it out loud. Now,
- 14:34in the front Now, this is interesting.
- 14:36In the front [clears throat] of every
- 14:37synagogue in those days, they say that
- 14:40there was a a chair that they that no
- 14:41one ever sat in.
- 14:43Every synagogue had this empty chair. It
- 14:45was their way of showing God that they
- 14:47were waiting and expecting their Messiah
- 14:49to come.
- 14:51And that empty chair was reserved for
- 14:52the Messiah. But Jesus stands up and
- 14:54reads from the scroll and it says, "The
- 14:56Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he
- 14:57has anointed me to proclaim good news to
- 14:59the poor. He has sent me to heal the
- 15:01brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to
- 15:03the captives, recovering of sight to the
- 15:05blind, the opening of the prison to
- 15:07those who are bound, to proclaim the
- 15:09year of the Lord's favor." He rolls up
- 15:11the scroll, hands it to the attendant,
- 15:14and sits down.
- 15:16Where did he sit down?
- 15:18In that chair.
- 15:19>> And all All eyes of those in in room
- 15:21were looking at him wondering at the
- 15:22marvelous words which he had said. And
- 15:24then he said, "Today, this scripture is
- 15:27fulfilled in your ears." That's
- 15:29powerful, isn't it?
- 15:30>> Mhm.
- 15:31>> So, what I The revelation I got was not
- 15:33[clears throat] about him sitting in the
- 15:34chair. The revelation I got was
- 15:37then the purpose of the anointing is to
- 15:39proclaim.
- 15:40And I had heard of a man, I'd actually
- 15:42listened to some of his uh
- 15:45recordings. He and his ministry teams
- 15:47have seen every part of the human body
- 15:49healed or recreated and hundreds,
- 15:53several hundred people raised from the
- 15:54dead.
- 15:55>> Before we jump back into our
- 15:56conversation, if you're led to partner
- 15:58with the ministry, you can do that at
- 16:00nicholasbowling.com/partner.
- 16:02And if you want to share the gospel with

- 16:08shipping at nicholasbowling.com.
- 16:10>> So, I noticed that he would always tell
- 16:12the people what was going to happen
- 16:13before he ever ministered to them.
- 16:16Boldly.
- 16:17Like one one time he went into a village
- 16:19and he said, "There's a woman in that
- 16:21hut over there that needs a needs
- 16:23healing and he wants you to pray for
- 16:24her." So, he said, "I walked in.
- 16:26I looked around and I couldn't There was
- 16:28no one in there. He said, "Of course it
- 16:29was dark inside the hut. They didn't
- 16:31have lights.
- 16:32And he said, "I'm used to being outside
- 16:33where it's real bright.
- 16:35So, my my vision hadn't adjusted to the
- 16:37darkness."
- 16:38He said, "Now, I I don't see anybody."
- 16:40And suddenly I feel somebody tugging on
- 16:42my pants.
- 16:43I looked down and it was this little
- 16:44bitty woman
- 16:46standing right in front of me.
- 16:47But she wasn't little. He said, "Her
- 16:48legs went straight out to the side and
- 16:50curled around behind her.
- 16:52And she said, "She looked up at me." And
- 16:53I He said, "By then I understood the
- 16:55language Aztec, which is what she
- 16:57spoke." And she said, "They told me that
- 17:00if you would put your hand on my head,
- 17:03that I would be able to walk." He said,
- 17:05"They told you right." He said, "You're
- 17:07in great fortune. The kingdom of God has
- 17:09come to your house today." And she said,
- 17:12"Where is it?" He said, "You're looking
- 17:14at it." He He "I'm an ambassador for the
- 17:16greatest king that ever was." He said,
- 17:18"I am going to put my hand on your head
- 17:20and Jesus is going to heal you and
- 17:21you're going to be able to walk right
- 17:23now."
- 17:25He says, "I put my hand on her head and
- 17:26he didn't pray for her. He proclaimed in
- 17:29the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, be
- 17:32healed." And he said, "All of a sudden
- 17:34her legs begin to move around behind
- 17:35her, raised her up right in front of
- 17:37me."
- 17:38>> Mhm.
- 17:38>> She was normal height.
- 17:40He said, "You should see that." And I
- 17:41thought, "Yeah."
- 17:43I [laughter] could see I want to see
- 17:45that. That's crazy.
- 17:47So I I listened to that over and over
- 17:48and I thought, "I can't be that
- 17:50something."
- 17:51But what I noticed was everyone that
- 17:53Jesus ministered to when he was on the
- 17:56earth, he didn't pray for them to be
- 17:58healed.
- 17:59He healed them.
- 18:01Well, did he pray? Yeah, he prayed a
- 18:03lot. He prayed all night sometimes.
- 18:05>> Mhm.
- 18:05>> He would rise early in the morning and
- 18:07go into a solitary place place and pray.
- 18:09But when he ministered to the sick in
- 18:11public, he never prayed for them in
- 18:13public. He healed them in public.
- 18:16He said to us,
- 18:18"When you pray, enter into your closet
- 18:20in secret. Your father who sees you in
- 18:22secret will reward you openly."
- 18:26In other words, you do your praying in
- 18:27secret,
- 18:29the father arranges divine appointments
- 18:31for you,
- 18:32and then when you see the opportunities
- 18:33to minister to people, the father
- 18:35rewards you by doing what you prayed for
- 18:38in secret because it's intimidating.
- 18:41To think the thought of walking up to
- 18:43somebody that's crippled or in a
- 18:45wheelchair or are they wearing are they
- 18:47on crutches and they've got a medical
- 18:49boot on their leg. And the thought of
- 18:51saying to them,
- 18:52"What happened?" You know, and they'll
- 18:53tell you and then and then saying,
- 18:55"Well, the reason I'm asking all these
- 18:56questions is I've got good news for you.
- 18:58The kingdom of heaven has come near to
- 19:00you." Because Jesus said to say that in
- 19:02Matthew chapter 10, verses 7 and 8. "As
- 19:05you go," he said, "preach saying, the
- 19:08kingdom of heaven has come near to you."
- 19:11And then he said, "Heal the sick,
- 19:13cleanse the lepers, raise the dead,
- 19:16drive out demons. Freely you have
- 19:18received, freely give." It's It's
- 19:21intimidating. Makes you nervous. It's
- 19:24like there's this little demon
- 19:25whispering in your ear and saying,
- 19:26"You're going to be embarrassed. You
- 19:27better not say it bold like that. You
- 19:29better not tell them that they're that
- 19:30they're going to be healed. Tell them
- 19:31you believe they're going to be healed.
- 19:32Don't tell them they're going to be
- 19:33healed because what if they don't get
- 19:35healed? You'll be embarrassed." Those
- 19:36are the thoughts that demon will whisper
- 19:38in your ears. So, what it gives What it
- 19:40makes you want to do is water it down.
- 19:43>> Mhm.
- 19:44>> You know, don't don't be so bold. What
- 19:46if nothing happens? You'll be
- 19:47humiliated. Well, that thought comes to
- 19:50my mind.
- 19:50>> Can you give us some some scriptural
- 19:52examples of that very thing happening?
- 19:54>> When Peter raised up Dorcas, I think.
- 19:57Now, he didn't pray for her to be
- 19:58healed. He knelt down beside her and
- 20:00prayed first. And then when he
- 20:02ministered healing to her, he just told
- 20:04her to get up.
- 20:05>> Mhm.
- 20:06>> He said the Lord He said, "Jesus Christ
- 20:08makes you whole." So, he proclaimed
- 20:11healing that way. Raised her up.
- 20:13>> Right.
- 20:13>> So, obviously whatever killed her
- 20:14whatever disease killed her was she was
- 20:16healed of that and her spirit came back
- 20:18into her body and she was restored to
- 20:19life. So, that's the first one that
- 20:21comes to my mind.
- 20:22>> Mhm. Yeah, the man at the beautiful
- 20:24gate.
- 20:25>> Yeah, the man at the the gate there.
- 20:26>> Silver and gold I do not have, but what
- 20:27I do have
- 20:28>> Exactly.
- 20:28>> rise up and walk.
- 20:29>> And And you got the other story of uh
- 20:31when Paul went I think it was Paul. He
- 20:34went to a particular place and there was
- 20:35a man there that was lame from his
- 20:37mother's womb and had never walked.
- 20:38>> Mhm.
- 20:38>> And he heard Paul preach.
- 20:41And And Paul perceived that the man had
- 20:44faith to be healed, but he didn't pray
- 20:46for him. He pointed to him and said,
- 20:47"Stand up on your feet."
- 20:49He told him to do what he couldn't do.
- 20:51>> Yeah.
- 20:51>> And he he leaped and walked.
- 20:54>> Often times I'll I'll tell people when I
- 20:56walk up to them I sometimes I'll start
- 20:58out, "Hey, I just want to make sure you
- 21:00know that Jesus loves you
- 21:01>> Yeah.
- 21:01>> and make sure you've heard about him."
- 21:02And then that all kind of segue me into
- 21:04>> Yes.
- 21:05>> the good news of Jesus Christ. So, in
- 21:08saying that, um, there was a a certain
- 21:10minister, even on YouTube, I think he
- 21:13made it, maybe there were other people
- 21:14who were saying the same thing, but I
- 21:15think he made it in kind of in response
- 21:17to the way that some of our videos are
- 21:19or start out. Um, and he was basically
- 21:21saying we shouldn't tell people that
- 21:24Jesus loves them or that God loves them.
- 21:26And he used the the reference, uh, which
- 21:29was Jesus didn't go around telling
- 21:31people I love you. And then he tried to
- 21:34take it more into conviction of sin and
- 21:37the law and things like that, which
- 21:39obviously we're not against that. Like
- 21:41Jesus used the law to convict people of
- 21:42sin, that's the purpose of the law to as
- 21:44a tutor to lead people to Christ. But it
- 21:46it just kind of pushed me to kind of
- 21:48search out the scriptures and find out
- 21:50does Jesus love people? One, we know
- 21:52that
- 21:53>> He does, absolutely.
- 21:54>> reveals or demonstrates his love for us
- 21:56in this, that while we were yet sinners,
- 21:58Christ died for us. So, that tells us
- 22:00even while we're sinners, God
- 22:02demonstrated his love for us. While
- 22:04we're still in the sin, not just because
- 22:05we got born again, now God loves us.
- 22:07While we're still in the sin, God loves
- 22:09us and demonstrated it. Didn't just say
- 22:11it, but demonstrated his love for Christ
- 22:13dying for us.
- 22:14>> And it talks about the rich young ruler,
- 22:15Jesus looked at him and loved him.
- 22:17>> Amen.
- 22:18>> When when he was saying what must I do
- 22:19to inherit eternal life, he said keep
- 22:20the commandments. He said which ones? He
- 22:22said you shall not steal, you shall not
- 22:24kill, you shall not bear false witness,
- 22:26honor your father and your mother.
- 22:27>> Mhm.
- 22:27>> And then he said, you shall love your
- 22:29neighbor as yourself. He said I've done
- 22:30these since my youth. What do I lack? He
- 22:32said go sell what you have and give to
- 22:34the poor and you'll have treasure in
- 22:36heaven and come take up your cross and
- 22:37follow me.
- 22:38>> Right.
- 22:38>> went away sorrowful. Jesus looked at him
- 22:41and loved him and he said that.
- 22:42>> Amen. So, I say that just to point out
- 22:45we should be telling everyone who's
- 22:46witnessing we should be telling people
- 22:49God loves you. We we should be
- 22:50expressing, that's what the cross is. It
- 22:53doesn't take away from conviction of
- 22:55sin. It's not like they're contrary.
- 22:57People need to get convicted of sin and,
- 22:59you know, then God loves them maybe
- 23:01afterwards or almost like they clash.
- 23:04They don't clash. It can mesh perfectly
- 23:06with the conviction of sin. Even
- 23:08conviction, if we think about conviction
- 23:10versus condemnation, condemnation dooms
- 23:12us, condemnation is us being damned and
- 23:16us being separated from God. Us
- 23:18literally sin separates us from God.
- 23:20That would be condemnation. You're
- 23:21eternally separated from him. But
- 23:23conviction
- 23:25is revealing your sin but not dooming
- 23:28you but rather drawing you to God. But
- 23:31the purpose of conviction, what God is
- 23:32really wanting to do is draw you closer
- 23:34to him. So you can see even see the love
- 23:36of God within conviction to get that sin
- 23:40out of your life, get what's separating
- 23:42you from God out of your life so that
- 23:44you can be welcomed come into peace with
- 23:46him, be reconciled even back to him.
- 23:49>> I remember when I was first saved, I was
- 23:51having having having a bad day. My
- 23:53family didn't want anything to do with
- 23:55me anymore.
- 23:57My brothers hated my guts because all I
- 23:59talked about was Jesus.
- 24:00And my I didn't have any friends. The
- 24:03friends I did have, they moved away or
- 24:04they were doing drugs. I was in my
- 24:06basement in my parents' house.
- 24:08In in the basement where I where my
- 24:10little bed was and I I'd lay in there
- 24:12and I I said out loud, "God, nobody
- 24:14loves me."
- 24:16Nobody.
- 24:18And he said, "I love you."
- 24:21And that melted me.
- 24:23I I just started weeping. I said, "Lord,
- 24:25if you love me, it don't matter whether
- 24:26anybody else does or not. If the whole
- 24:28world loved me and you didn't love me,
- 24:31I'd be doomed.
- 24:32But if you love me,
- 24:34He said, "I love you and I'm being
- 24:35patient with you. You got some growing
- 24:36to do."
- 24:38And I he was right. He always is.
- 24:40>> [laughter]
- 24:41>> I found out how much growing I had to
- 24:43do.
- 24:43>> Yeah.
- 24:44>> There are so many people who call
- 24:46themselves Christians today
- 24:48and go to church, read their Bible,
- 24:50maybe they go to a life group or a Bible
- 24:52study or something like that, but
- 24:54they're still habitually sinning.
- 24:56They're practicing sin, they're
- 24:58willfully sinning, doing these things
- 25:00that the Bible makes this long list of
- 25:02the works of the flesh. People who do
- 25:04these things will not inherit the
- 25:06kingdom of God, you know? So, it's like
- 25:09how are we going to call ourselves a
- 25:10Christian and then if we can point out
- 25:12these things on this list, the works of
- 25:14the flesh, almost want to go into that.
- 25:17Galatians 5 chapter 19, it says, "Now
- 25:20the works of the flesh are evident,
- 25:21which are adultery, fornication,
- 25:23uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry,
- 25:26sorcery, hatred, contentions." On on
- 25:29hatred, the Lord gave me a revelation.
- 25:32Disliking someone, if you look that up,
- 25:35it's actually the definition in
- 25:37Webster's 1828, which is a biblical
- 25:38dictionary, it means a moderate form of
- 25:42hatred to dislike someone. And you hear
- 25:45some people say, "Well, I love them, but
- 25:46I don't like them." You can't say I love
- 25:48someone, but I I moderately hate them at
- 25:50the same time. That's what you're
- 25:51saying. I love them, but I like them.
- 25:52You're saying, "Oh, I love them, but I I
- 25:54moderately hate them."
- 25:56>> [laughter]
- 25:56>> It's like it doesn't work out. It's
- 25:58actually a form of a bitterness and and
- 26:01unforgiveness, disliking disliking a
- 26:04person because Jesus said love your
- 26:05enemies. So, anyway, hatred,
- 26:08contentions, jealousies, a lot of people
- 26:11walk in jealousy. There's a godly
- 26:12jealousy, but there's a worldly
- 26:14outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions.
- 26:17That's a big one, especially in the
- 26:18church. People who get self- selfishly
- 26:20ambitious, people who want the
- 26:22microphone, people who want the pulpit,
- 26:24people who want to get out there in
- 26:26ministry before God has put them through
- 26:27the process of really getting them
- 26:29there. A lot of self-ambition can take
- 26:32place. Dissensions, heresies, envy is
- 26:35another one. Dissensions, murders,
- 26:37drunkenness, that's a big one as well.
- 26:39People getting drunk and thinking, "Oh,
- 26:41it's okay." Revelries, which are
- 26:43drinking parties.
- 26:44So, people who are going to parties
- 26:46where people are getting drunk, that's a
- 26:48work of the flesh.
- 26:49And the like of which I tell you
- 26:51beforehand, just as I also told you in
- 26:53time past, that those who practice such
- 26:55things will not inherit the kingdom of
- 26:57God.
- 26:58People can't make the excuse, "Oh, well,
- 27:00Jesus died for my sin." and still
- 27:02practice these things. You can say
- 27:04you're a Christian, but Jesus said, "Why
- 27:06do you call me Lord, but you don't do
- 27:08the things that I say? You don't keep my
- 27:09words. You don't keep my commands, but
- 27:11you call me Lord." So, it doesn't matter
- 27:13if someone calls him Lord, but they
- 27:15still practice these things. So, this
- 27:18was convicting to me As I was reading
- 27:20this, at one point, I'm like, "Ooh." You
- 27:22know, I I could pinpoint, "Oh, there's a
- 27:24little bit of jealousy and envy in my
- 27:27heart." And I had to repent and confess
- 27:29those things. And if we confess them,
- 27:31he's faithful and just to forgive us and
- 27:32cleans us from all unrighteousness. So,
- 27:34it doesn't mean because you've done this
- 27:36once, you're going to hell. No, confess
- 27:38it and repent of those things. And then
- 27:41don't practice them. Don't willfully
- 27:42continue in it. Don't know that
- 27:45practicing would be knowing that you're
- 27:47doing something even before you do it.
- 27:49You don't accidentally practice playing
- 27:50basketball. It's not an accident. You
- 27:52didn't You didn't uh slip
- 27:55and stumble.
- 27:56>> [laughter]
- 27:56>> You don't just stumble onto a basketball
- 27:58court
- 27:59in a game and the ball gets passed to
- 28:01you and you just accidentally throw it
- 28:03up.
- 28:04And then it goes in the basket. Sorry,
- 28:06guys. You You purposely go to the court.
- 28:09You know where you're going before you
- 28:10go. You know what you're about to do
- 28:12before you do it. And then, you pick up
- 28:14the basketball. You're dribbling it.
- 28:16You're getting better at it. You're
- 28:18shooting it intentionally.
- 28:20That That That's where the practicing
- 28:21versus a stumbling or an accidental or
- 28:24an unconscious sin or uh maybe you did
- 28:27know it was wrong. You slipped up and
- 28:28you did it. But then this godly sorrow
- 28:31and this confession and this repentance,
- 28:33right? But it's this this justifying it
- 28:35and this practicing it.
- 28:37>> Justifying is where you get in trouble.
- 28:38>> Yeah.
- 28:39>> So, when people backslide,
- 28:42you know, there's Christians that are on
- 28:43fire for God uh Uh, and then
- 28:46usually it starts when start neglecting
- 28:48the word and they start neglecting
- 28:49prayer.
- 28:51A Christian doesn't backslide by going
- 28:53out and committing sins,
- 28:55outward things like lying and stealing
- 28:57and adultery and blasphemy.
- 28:59Uh, usually it's sins of omission.
- 29:02Where they Where they stop spending time
- 29:04with God. They stop reading their Bible.
- 29:06They stop uh, going to church services.
- 29:09They think of it
- 29:10and it just over it progresses.
- 29:12>> Can I point out something right there?
- 29:13>> Yeah.
- 29:14>> Busyness is in our day and age is I
- 29:16think one of the biggest excuses of why
- 29:19people stop stop doing that. They say
- 29:21they're too busy, which Jesus dealt with
- 29:22with Mary and Martha. But sorry, go
- 29:24ahead.
- 29:25>> Well, they say that.
- 29:26>> Right.
- 29:26>> But you're all you're never too busy to
- 29:28do what you love. If you think you're
- 29:30too busy to do something you love, you
- 29:32just you're deceiving yourself into
- 29:34thinking you really love doing it.
- 29:35Because if there's something I really
- 29:37love to do,
- 29:39I'm going to find a way to do it. Even
- 29:40if I have to give up something else that
- 29:42I love less.
- 29:43>> Comparably speaking, God said, "Hate
- 29:45your father, your mother, your children,
- 29:48your wife, even your own life."
- 29:50>> So our love for him, he wants it to be
- 29:51so much greater than our love for even
- 29:53those closest to us, including our own
- 29:55life,
- 29:56that by comparison it would be our love
- 29:58for them would be hate by comparison.
- 30:00>> Right.
- 30:02>> No not even a question
- 30:05as to who where your loyalty is.
- 30:07Anything that would hinder your
- 30:08relationship or or put out the fire of
- 30:11and your zeal for God should be looked
- 30:15at as something I can't do. I can't have
- 30:17that.
- 30:18>> Earlier we were talking about
- 30:20proclaiming proclamation. Could you tell
- 30:22us some testimonies of some of the the
- 30:25unbelievers getting healed?
- 30:26>> The first time I ever did it
- 30:28was was uh, cuz I was terrified. The
- 30:31thing that made it easier was I went
- 30:33into a business. I was selling
- 30:35uh, American flags to raise money for
- 30:37our ministry and so I go into businesses
- 30:39and I would sell American flags. So I
- 30:40went into this one business and this
- 30:42lady was on the phone. It was about an
- 30:44hour from where I lived and I saw that
- 30:46she needed a miracle because she had a
- 30:48cast on her arm and a metal plate coming
- 30:50out of the cast holding her finger
- 30:51straight. So, I thought she must have
- 30:53broken one of her fingers.
- 30:55And I said uh
- 30:57"What happened to your hand?" She said,
- 30:59"I broke my finger over the weekend. I
- 31:00was at a picnic and asked somebody to
- 31:02throw me a bottle of Gatorade and it was
- 31:05they threw it too hard and I went to I
- 31:06just ins in you know, reflexes I reached
- 31:09to catch it and it hit my finger and
- 31:12drove the bone up into my hand."
- 31:13>> Ooh.
- 31:14>> Everybody does that when I tell it.
- 31:15>> [laughter]
- 31:16>> They go, "Oh."
- 31:17Because I said, "That sounds painful."
- 31:19She says, "You have no idea." She says,
- 31:21"It's so painful if I even twent if I
- 31:23even twitch
- 31:24I almost faint from the pain so bad."
- 31:27So, I thought, "Well, I'm going to do it
- 31:29because I I don't have to ever come back
- 31:31in here again if I don't want to."
- 31:32I was in some kind of
- 31:34uh business office. She was a
- 31:36receptionist. I said "Uh well, the
- 31:38reason I'm asking you all this is I've
- 31:40got good news for you."
- 31:41I said, "And what does the word gospel
- 31:43mean?"
- 31:44Good news.
- 31:45>> Mhm.
- 31:46>> And the gospel or the good news is the
- 31:47power of God unto salvation
- 31:50or healing or whatever you whatever it
- 31:52is you need. I said if I said uh "I got
- 31:54good news for you." I said, "The kingdom
- 31:55of heaven has come to this business."
- 31:58She looked at me funny.
- 31:59I said, "You didn't expect me to say
- 32:01that, did you?" She said, "No." I said,
- 32:03"If you'll let me touch your finger with
- 32:04my hand
- 32:05Jesus will completely heal your finger
- 32:07and you will have no more pain. You'll
- 32:08be able to bend it or whatever."
- 32:10And she looked at me sideways. I said I
- 32:12said, "I'm serious. What have you got to
- 32:13lose?"
- 32:15She goes, "Okay." She goes like this.
- 32:18So, I touched her finger real gently. I
- 32:19said, "I'll be gentle." So, I touched it
- 32:20and I said, "In the name of the Lord
- 32:22Jesus Christ, be healed."
- 32:25And she goes
- 32:27"Oh my gosh, I feel something." I said,
- 32:29"What's it feel like?" She said, "It's
- 32:30like electricity going through my hand."
- 32:32I got bold then. I said, "You're being
- 32:33healed. Jesus is healing you right now."
- 32:35She starts crying.
- 32:37I said, "Now move your finger." She
- 32:39said, "If it hurts, I'm I'm going to
- 32:40pass out." I said, "You're not going to
- 32:42pass out cuz it's not going to hurt.
- 32:43Move your finger." She starts moving her
- 32:45finger. She goes, "That's amazing.
- 32:47What's your phone number?"
- 32:49I said, "Why do you want my phone
- 32:50number?" She said, "I'm going to get
- 32:51this cast off today and I'm going to
- 32:52call you and tell you what happened." I
- 32:54said, "Yeah, here's my phone number."
- 32:56So, when I got home, I couldn't wait,
- 32:57you know, I got I got home and I went
- 32:59right to my voicemail
- 33:00and I listened and it was her.
- 33:03And she said, "Call me. This is my
- 33:04number. Call me. Call me."
- 33:06Uh and I called her and she was
- 33:08hysterical. She said, uh
- 33:11"After you left, I went into the ladies'
- 33:13room and I sat down on the toilet seat
- 33:15so that if I passed out, I wouldn't fall
- 33:17very far."
- 33:18>> [laughter]
- 33:19>> And she said, "I shimmied my arm out of
- 33:21my cast and took the plate She said, 'My
- 33:23hand is completely healed.'" She said,
- 33:25"I've still got staples in my hand from
- 33:26where they did the surgery. So, I called
- 33:28the doctor and he told him what
- 33:29happened. He said, 'You can't move your
- 33:31finger. There's no way.
- 33:33I just did surgery on you over the
- 33:34weekend.'" She said, "Well, I'm moving
- 33:35it and it's And Jesus healed my He said,
- 33:38'That's a miracle. Come in tomorrow and
- 33:39I'll take the staples out.'" So, I
- 33:41remember it was the first time I did it.
- 33:43I ever ministered to somebody and I
- 33:44thought, "Wow, that worked."
- 33:47I'm going to do that again. So, the
- 33:48following week, I went into a computer
- 33:50store and the woman's staring at my
- 33:52mouth
- 33:53while I'm talking to her.
- 33:54Like, "What What is that in your teeth?"
- 33:56You know, I thought, "What did I eat?"
- 33:57You know, "Lettuce in my teeth or
- 33:58something?"
- 34:00So, I'm getting I'm going
- 34:02>> [laughter]
- 34:03>> And she said, "I'm sorry. I'm I'm
- 34:04looking at your mouth because I'm deaf.
- 34:06I can't hear you. I'm reading your
- 34:07lips."
- 34:09>> [laughter]
- 34:09>> And I said,
- 34:10>> She said, "Sorry, cuz you were trying to
- 34:11pick something out of your teeth."
- 34:13>> I thought I needed a toothpick or
- 34:14something. I was just wiping my lips.
- 34:15>> Yeah.
- 34:16>> So, I said, "You can't hear?" And she
- 34:17goes, "No."
- 34:19Uh she said, "I'm nerve deaf in both
- 34:20ears." So, I got excited and I said, "I
- 34:22got good news for you."
- 34:24I said, "The kingdom of heaven has come
- 34:26to your business." I said, "Read my
- 34:28lips.
- 34:29If you'll let me touch put my hands on
- 34:32your ears,
- 34:33the power of God will go into your ears,
- 34:35and Jesus will heal you, and you'll be
- 34:37able to hear again right now.
- 34:39And when I said that I I was so nervous,
- 34:41I wanted to grab all those words I just
- 34:43said and put them back, you know.
- 34:45But it was just too late. I'd already
- 34:46said them. But the good news what what
- 34:48made me bold, the fact that I was in
- 34:50about an hour and a half from where I
- 34:51lived, and I thought, I don't ever have
- 34:53to come back to this town if I don't
- 34:54want to. So, I'm going to be extremely
- 34:56bold and not worry about it. Because if
- 34:58nothing happens, I don't have to face
- 34:59them. It's not my brother. It's not my
- 35:01next-door neighbor. I don't have to face
- 35:02her tomorrow. So, she said, "What do I
- 35:04need to do?" I said, "Let me put my
- 35:05stuff down." So, I put it down.
- 35:07I said, "I'm going to put my hands on
- 35:08your ears. Jesus is going to do
- 35:09everything else."
- 35:11So, I put my hands on her ears, and just
- 35:13as I did that, a customer walked in.
- 35:15>> [laughter]
- 35:16>> And she had her eyes closed, so she
- 35:17didn't hear it.
- 35:18>> You can't hear me?
- 35:20>> And she's deaf. And so, she's got her
- 35:22eyes closed. She don't know a customer
- 35:23walked in, but I'm I'm looking like this
- 35:25at the customer, like, "What does she
- 35:27What does this look like? I got her I
- 35:28got her by the head, you know. I got my
- 35:30fingers stuck in her ears. I said, "In
- 35:31the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, be
- 35:33healed." I I tried to ignore this woman.
- 35:35I almost wanted to say, "She'll be with
- 35:37you in a minute. Just hang on."
- 35:39So, I said, "In Jesus' name, be opened.
- 35:41Be healed. Thank you, Lord, for healing
- 35:42this woman's ears." I took my hands off
- 35:44her ears, and I said, And she backed up.
- 35:46She goes,
- 35:47"Wow, I can hear.
- 35:49I can hear. Your hands got real hot, and
- 35:51my ears popped. I can hear." And the
- 35:53woman that walked in said, "What just
- 35:54happened?" I said, "The kingdom of
- 35:55heaven just came to this business.
- 35:57That's what just happened." I said,
- 35:58"Look, you got a customer. I I need to
- 36:00let you get Oh, wait on your customer. I
- 36:02got to go." Cuz I I was kind of like I
- 36:04felt like That was only the second time
- 36:06I'd ever done it.
- 36:07And it was a deaf person this time. It
- 36:08wasn't a finger.
- 36:09>> Mhm.
- 36:10>> I felt like probably what a dog would
- 36:11feel like that chases trains all the
- 36:13time and finally caught one.
- 36:15>> [laughter]
- 36:15>> What do you do now?
- 36:17I caught the thing. I don't know.
- 36:19So, I just had to I went outside, and I
- 36:20did the happy dance, and Pat
- 36:22she's she's in the car and looking in
- 36:24the rearview mirror. She sees me doing
- 36:25the happy dance, you know.
- 36:27So, she she said I got in the car. She
- 36:28said
- 36:29"What happened?" I said, "Jesus just
- 36:31healed a woman's hearing. She got her
- 36:32hearing back."
- 36:33She goes, "Really?" I go, "Yeah."
- 36:35So, after that that was the second one.
- 36:38That week I saw like 10 or 15 people
- 36:40healed just doing going about selling
- 36:42American flags.
- 36:43>> And you said 25 or how many 10 in 25
- 36:47years prior to this?
- 36:49>> I'd seen 30 in 25 years and then I seen
- 36:51like 10 the first week and then the next
- 36:53week I'm seeing I'm looking for stuff
- 36:55after that, you know. I'm just like if
- 36:57you twitch, you know, I'm going to pray
- 36:58for you. [laughter]
- 36:59I'm going to minister to you if you
- 37:00twitch.
- 37:01And I was seeing all kinds of crazy
- 37:02miracles. You know, I I've noticed
- 37:05that when I do evangelism, I call it
- 37:07miracle evangelism, miracles are the
- 37:10dinner bell for the gospel. When God
- 37:12starts healing people, not only the
- 37:14people that get healed want to get
- 37:15saved, but everybody that witnessed them
- 37:17getting healed,
- 37:19their ears are wide open.
- 37:21Their hearts are wide open to the
- 37:22gospel.
- 37:24And they want to hear what you've got to
- 37:25say because there's nothing more
- 37:27powerful than the testimony of God. And
- 37:30God doesn't testify with all by speaking
- 37:32audibly from heaven. He's He testifies
- 37:35by miracles and signs and wonders,
- 37:37healing people. Like Philip in the
- 37:39Bible, in the book of Acts. When he went
- 37:41down to Samaria and preached uh preached
- 37:43the gospel to them, the Bible says that
- 37:45the people with one accord came uh
- 37:47believed the things gave heed to the
- 37:49things that Philip spoke, hearing and
- 37:51seeing the miracles which he did. So,
- 37:53the thing that caused the people to give
- 37:55heed was because they heard and they saw
- 37:57the miracles that Philip that Philip did
- 38:00in the name of Jesus.
- 38:01And when they see miracles, they know
- 38:03that's God.
- 38:05And they know whatever you've got to say
- 38:06is not just your opinion.
- 38:08>> Yeah.
- 38:08>> If If you don't If God's not confirming
- 38:10what you're saying,
- 38:11the people that are hearing what you're
- 38:12saying are thinking usually things like
- 38:15this. "Well, that's his opinion."
- 38:17>> Yeah.
- 38:18>> But when God says, "I agree with him."
- 38:21by doing a miracle,
- 38:22all of a sudden they go, "Okay, what I
- 38:24I'm ready to listen what you got to
- 38:25say."
- 38:26>> Amen. Which is what Jesus said even to
- 38:29Pharisees and Sadducees. He said, "If
- 38:31you don't believe me for the words that
- 38:32I speak, believe me for the works that I
- 38:34do." Because he said, "If I bear witness
- 38:37of myself, that's one person." He said,
- 38:39"Even your law says by the testimony of
- 38:41two or three witnesses, something is
- 38:43established."
- 38:44>> Yes.
- 38:44>> And he said, "But I wear bit I bear
- 38:45witness of myself, but also the Father
- 38:48bears witness of me." In other words,
- 38:50the Father testifies
- 38:52of me.
- 38:52>> saying.
- 38:52>> Yeah, what I'm saying that I am the Son
- 38:54of God, that I am the Messiah, that I am
- 38:56the Christ. The Father himself was even
- 38:58testifying, which is just lining up with
- 39:00what you're saying. Miracles, signs,
- 39:03wonders, those things are God
- 39:05testifying. What? That the message
- 39:07you're bringing
- 39:08>> Yeah, he agrees.
- 39:09>> of the kingdom of God, the good news of
- 39:11Jesus Christ, he's confirming
- 39:14>> He's confirming it.
- 39:14>> He's confirming that very thing.
- 39:16>> Absolutely. It's so It's so vital.
- 39:18Otherwise, people think we're just
- 39:19sharing our opinion.
- 39:21And they can take it or leave it.
- 39:22>> With that being said, these are huge
- 39:24keys to being effective in the harvest
- 39:27fields.
- 39:28>> Absolutely.
- 39:28>> Um what would you say in
- 39:31to a believer? How would you encourage
- 39:34someone that to get out there and get in
- 39:37the harvest fields?
- 39:37>> Can I talk about my book a little bit?
- 39:39>> Yeah, yeah.
- 39:40>> I wrote a book
- 39:41a few years ago called You Can Do the
- 39:43Works of Jesus,
- 39:45Moving from Theory to Reality.
- 39:47And in this book, I share a lot of
- 39:49testimonies.
- 39:50Because I think people can really learn
- 39:52from testimonies.
- 39:53And when I share these testimonies,
- 39:55especially about people getting healed,
- 39:58I I don't just talk about what happened.
- 40:00I talk about what was going on in my
- 40:01mind.
- 40:03Because I can I'll think a lot of people
- 40:05will relate to the feelings of
- 40:07intimidation
- 40:08and reluctance. The key to it is do it
- 40:12anyway.
- 40:14Say it anyway. You're going to feel like
- 40:16you're going to you're going to feel
- 40:16like you're going to pass out sometimes
- 40:18from fear.
- 40:20How do I know that? I've done it. I felt
- 40:22that way many times. But you got to just
- 40:24be willing to step over that chicken
- 40:25line and do it anyway. Say it anyway.
- 40:27>> That temptation, one, the enemy is
- 40:30trying to work against us.
- 40:31>> Oh, yeah, he's fighting.
- 40:31>> But then we got the flesh, the selfish
- 40:33carnal nature. Keep your mind on things
- 40:36of the spirit, not things of the flesh.
- 40:37That's that's trying to fight against
- 40:39and that nervousness and the temptations
- 40:41and things like that. And I I often tell
- 40:43people on the the college tour
- 40:45uh as we're going out and equipping
- 40:46people on college campuses to share
- 40:48their faith, look at those things, the
- 40:50nervousness, the fear,
- 40:53uh the anxiety, the what ifs, and all
- 40:56the what if I don't know what to say,
- 40:58what if it gets awkward, all those
- 40:59things. Look at those as temptations
- 41:01from the enemy. It's not
- 41:03>> Exactly.
- 41:03>> who you are. It's not oh, well, I'm just
- 41:06squeamish or I'm just uh an introvert
- 41:09and not an extrovert. And we we try to
- 41:11claim all those temptations. The devil
- 41:13wants us to get that nervousness and the
- 41:14fear to claim that as this is who I am
- 41:17and I can't do this. And now our focus
- 41:20is on us instead of on him and what he
- 41:24said to do and our trust is on our
- 41:26ability rather than the Holy Spirit's
- 41:28ability. But don't give in to those
- 41:30temptations. Rather, don't obey the
- 41:33devil. You're slave to whom you obey.
- 41:34Don't obey the tempter, but rather obey
- 41:37Jesus and the Holy Spirit is here to
- 41:39help us make it beyond the chicken line,
- 41:42what you're talking about. Make it
- 41:43beyond that all that that that fear that
- 41:46tries to you and tries to
- 41:47control you. And then beyond that, the
- 41:50fruits and the feelings that come after
- 41:53you've obeyed. You said you did the
- 41:55happy dance earlier. So so there's these
- 41:59these feelings or these fleshly
- 42:01temptations before you obey Christ. And
- 42:05then it doesn't stay that way
- 42:06afterwards. Then it all changes and then
- 42:09you've got to do it.
- 42:10>> think. It changes your paradigm of of
- 42:12everything.
- 42:13When I saw a few people get healed just
- 42:15in a few days,
- 42:16I was addicted. I mean, really addicted.
- 42:19I had to see it all the I had to do it
- 42:20every day.
- 42:22And I I'd look for reasons.
- 42:23>> [laughter]
- 42:23>> To Like the other day we other night we
- 42:25went to a
- 42:27restaurant and the girl that was our
- 42:29hostess, you know, she greeted us at the
- 42:31door. She took us to our table. She had
- 42:33a cast on her arm.
- 42:34I said, "What happened to your arm?" She
- 42:36said, "I broke my wrist in a car
- 42:37accident."
- 42:38I said, "What can you not do?" And she
- 42:40said, "Well," she took the good arm and
- 42:42she showed So, "Well, I can't do this. I
- 42:44can't move it like this."
- 42:45I said, "Would you like to be healed?"
- 42:47And she looked at me funny and she goes,
- 42:48"Yeah, why?" I said, "I got good news
- 42:50for you. The kingdom of heaven has come
- 42:52to this restaurant." I said, "If you let
- 42:53me put my hand on your wrist, Jesus will
- 42:55completely heal it right now and you
- 42:57won't have any more pain."
- 42:59She said, "Okay." So, she
- 43:01I said
- 43:02So, she still had the she had like a
- 43:04brace.
- 43:05So, I just said, "In the name of the
- 43:06Lord Jesus Christ, be healed."
- 43:08Thank you, Jesus, for healing this
- 43:09precious woman's
- 43:11wrist. I said, "Now, check it out." So,
- 43:13I said, "Take the thing the
- 43:14the It was like a
- 43:16not a regular cast where it's, you know,
- 43:18but it was like a brace.
- 43:20So, she
- 43:21undid the Velcro and she goes,
- 43:24She's shocked. [laughter]
- 43:26I said, "Is it healed?" And I said, "Is
- 43:28there any pain at all?" She said, "No."
- 43:30I said, "Try to pick something up." So,
- 43:31I said, "Do what normally would hurt."
- 43:33And she said, "It's it's gone. It's
- 43:34gone. It's completely" So, she was very
- 43:36excited and and she let me do a video of
- 43:39her. I posted it on YouTube.
- 43:41>> Praise God.
- 43:41>> You got to be willing to fail, but
- 43:44here's the here's the great news. I
- 43:45failed for 25 years, more times than I
- 43:48succeeded.
- 43:50And the the great news is you don't have
- 43:53to fail.
- 43:55If you're watching right now, you don't
- 43:56have to fail for 25 years before you
- 43:57learn how to do it. You can learn from
- 43:59somebody that already failed for 25
- 44:01years. [laughter]
- 44:02You can get this book and you can read
- 44:04this book. This is what I learned after
- 44:06failing for 25 years and finally
- 44:08learning how to do it the right way and
- 44:10seeing consistent results and I put it
- 44:13in a it's a short book. It's a 2-hour
- 44:15read. It's about 100 pages. The best
- 44:17thing I tell people is when you read it
- 44:19put it into practice immediately. Don't
- 44:21wait.
- 44:21>> can people get it?
- 44:22>> For people who want to You can get this
- 44:23book on Amazon. amazon.com. It's real
- 44:26easy. You can do the works of Jesus.
- 44:28Moving from theory to reality.
- 44:30>> And this author, his name Joel Crumpton.
- 44:33>> Yeah, Joel Crumpton. Yes, me. Joel
- 44:34Crumpton.
- 44:35>> For people who speak Spanish and read in
- 44:38Spanish
- 44:39>> Yeah, I have a I have a Spanish version
- 44:41which is much larger.
- 44:44But it is it's uh it's the same book.
- 44:46It's just in Spanish and it's uh
- 44:49it's also available on uh amazon.com.
- 44:53>> So people they can learn even what God
- 44:55has taught you yes through your book.
- 44:57But I also saw recently uh I just
- 44:59watched a video. I actually watched it
- 45:01uh in our staff meeting and showed some
- 45:03of our team. Uh but it was a video of a
- 45:07man you were standing outside almost
- 45:09look like businesses out between like a
- 45:11van and a car and it was a man who had
- 45:14hearing problems. He may have been
- 45:15completely deaf.
- 45:16>> Yeah, he was.
- 45:17>> Um and you
- 45:18>> He was He was pretty He was close to
- 45:19completely deaf without his hearing
- 45:21aids. Yeah, he couldn't hear anything.
- 45:22>> Yeah.
- 45:22>> without his hearing aids.
- 45:23>> And you you prayed for him and you could
- 45:25see it on the guy's face. Um he was
- 45:28amazed. He didn't know really what to
- 45:30say. He even said, you know, I don't
- 45:31even know what to say. You know, praise
- 45:33God this and that. He was shocked. Came
- 45:34up and gave you a hug. So even the
- 45:36encouragement that uh people could
- 45:38receive from your book, they can also
- 45:40see it in real life uh through
- 45:43recordings and through videos that
- 45:45you're posting
- 45:45>> Yeah, on YouTube.
- 45:46>> even on YouTube. How can people find you
- 45:49on YouTube and also your website?
- 45:51>> they can type in my name Joel Crumpton
- 45:54uh on the YouTube search window and I
- 45:56think it's that Joel guy one is my
- 45:59thing. And I encourage you to do that
- 46:01because there's a lot of videos of uh
- 46:04people getting healed. There's teachings
- 46:06on it.
- 46:06>> And then for people who want to stay
- 46:08connected or even
- 46:09partner with the ministry, you have a
- 46:11website. What's your website name?
- 46:12>> Yeah, the website is just
- 46:14joelcrumptonministries.org.
- 46:17>> Okay, joelcrumptonministries.org.
- 46:19Praise God. Yeah. Could you pray for the
- 46:21people who are watching and who are
- 46:23listening today?
- 46:24>> Sure. Now, I I would like to talk to a
- 46:26couple of different classes of people.
- 46:28One is the people that are watching
- 46:29right now and you're away from God.

- 46:33now you're backslid and you've been
- 46:35interested in following
- 46:37my brother's ministry because he's got
- 46:39an awesome ministry.
- 46:41And you'd like watching his videos, but
- 46:44you're not right with God. You still
- 46:45haven't really surrendered. You haven't
- 46:47returned to your first love. Jesus is
- 46:49calling you to return to your first
- 46:51love. The first thing to do is not just
- 46:53start reading your Bible, just start
- 46:54praying, just start going to church. The
- 46:56first thing to do is deal with your
- 46:58heart and return to your first love. So,
- 47:00let me pray Let me Let me just lead you
- 47:02in a prayer of of repentance and
- 47:03returning to your first love. Just lift
- 47:06your hands, close your eyes, and say
- 47:07this with me. Say, "Heavenly Father,
- 47:10forgive me.
- 47:13I confess
- 47:15that I have left my first love.
- 47:19I have gone back, Lord,
- 47:22to living for myself,
- 47:25but I want to come home.
- 47:31And right now,
- 47:33I surrender all to you, Jesus.
- 47:37Wash me, Jesus.
- 47:40Cleanse me.
- 47:42Make me brand new, Lord.
- 47:46Restore me, Lord Jesus.
- 47:49And I will follow you
- 47:52for the rest of my life.
- 47:55Thank you, Jesus.
- 47:58In your precious name.
- 48:01In Jesus name.
- 48:03Amen. Now, there's some of you watching
- 48:05right now that you need healing in your
- 48:06body.
- 48:07I pray for this young man, this young
- 48:09woman, this this person, whoever it is
- 48:11that needs healing.
- 48:13Thank you that your word is true.
- 48:15Pain, get out in the name of the Lord
- 48:17Jesus Christ.
- 48:19Thank you, Jesus, that you took their
- 48:21infirmities. Thank you that you carried
- 48:23their pain.
- 48:24Thank you, Lord, that with your wounds
- 48:26they were healed. Be healed now in the
- 48:28name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 48:31Amen. So be it. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
- 48:34>> Amen. Praise God. Yeah, yeah. We thank
- 48:36you, Lord, for even the miracles and the
- 48:38testimonies that are going to come
- 48:40forth. Share these testimonies with
- 48:41people. Uh it can build their faith and
- 48:44encourage them to receive from God the
- 48:46same way that you just did as well.
- 48:48Well, thank you, Joel. I've been
- 48:50encouraged. I know everyone else has.
- 48:52Thanks so much for coming on.
- 48:53>> Hey, I've been encouraged. Thank you for
- 48:54having me.
- 48:55>> Amen.
- 48:56I pray that God has blessed you through
