  10. 0:43land is it time to rewrite this chapter
  11. 0:46in this
  12. 0:54story cooking is a life sustaining act
  13. 0:58to improve the working condition of
  14. 1:00women and children in the village we at
  15. 1:03kosher climate partnered with first
  16. 1:05climate to develop crany clean cooking
  17. 1:08initiative the cook stove not only
  18. 1:11combed the health hazards but also
  19. 1:13nurtured a cleaner environment slashed
  20. 1:16cooking time and used lesser amount of
  21. 1:19wood however the villagers remained
  22. 1:22reluctant
  23. 1:27[Music]
  24. 1:34but we resolved not to give
  25. 1:37up and be the Catalyst for
  26. 1:42change if you think about investment in
  27. 1:45climate change you think about
  28. 1:46Technologies which provide cheaper uh
  29. 1:49Solutions improved cook sto project is
  30. 1:51really an education project it's really
  31. 1:53not a project or a product that you can
  32. 1:56give to a household and say that use it
  33. 1:58for tomorrow and they will start using
  34. 2:00it we understood that it was more of a
  35. 2:03behavioral change that needed work on we
  36. 2:06didn't just distribute stuffs in
  37. 2:08exchange of documents we were genuinely
  38. 2:11committed to driving meaningful change
  39. 2:13when it comes to planning of large scale
  40. 2:15Community Based projects there has to be
  41. 2:17a lot of homework that we need to do
  42. 2:18before hitting the ground first we
  43. 2:20conduct something called a feasibility
  44. 2:21study where we try to understand with
  45. 2:24the selection of geography whether it is
  46. 2:25the right place for us to do a cookstar
  47. 2:28project and then comes up Partners we
  48. 2:30need to have strong Partners to be able
  49. 2:33to implement this project and achieve
  50. 2:36the quality that we're looking for this
  51. 2:37is a large project which is being done
  52. 2:40in state of madh Pradesh in India it's
  53. 2:42spread across 28 districts around 2,000
  54. 2:45Villages and around 1100 digital Runners
  55. 2:48are going to work on this in next 5
  56. 2:51years as a process as the first step we
  57. 2:55identify the geography where we want to
  58. 2:58do the cook Stu distribution because it
  59. 3:00is very important that the place where
  60. 3:02there's a high fuel wood usage is
  61. 3:05identified step two is beneficiary
  62. 3:08identification where we find out the
  63. 3:10right household who should be given the
  64. 3:12improved cook stuff based on the poverty
  65. 3:15line status kacha house Paka house
  66. 3:17fuelwood usage Etc step three is
  67. 3:21demonstration where we demonstrate how
  68. 3:24improved cook stuff is better as
  69. 3:26compared to a traditional Chula step
  70. 3:29four is is distribution where we
  71. 3:31distribute the book stuff to the right
  72. 3:34beneficiary and step five is monitoring
  73. 3:37where a runner goes to each and every
  74. 3:40household which has received the cook
  75. 3:42stuff to verify whether the household is
  76. 3:44using the cook stuff or not and help
  77. 3:47them use cook stuff in case they are
  78. 3:48facing any challenges and we are able to
  79. 3:51Showcase all that on a dashboard so that
  80. 3:53a person sitting in us can see the
  81. 3:56history of the project throughout I
  82. 3:58think that one of the reasons why first
  83. 4:00climate invested into this project
  84. 4:02compared to other projects where we
  85. 4:04might just buy carbon credits is that we
  86. 4:06really wanted to have a focus on on the
  87. 4:08quality of the project this project is
  88. 4:10very special because of the monitoring
  89. 4:13approach that it takes with the digital
  90. 4:16infrastructure that anxe has in place it
  91. 4:19really enables uh monitoring of every
  92. 4:22households that are part of the of the
  93. 4:24project and it really helps us to
  94. 4:26visualize the the positive impact that
  95. 4:28we're having on the
  96. 4:31jungle
  97. 4:34jungle the idea of having a portable
  98. 4:37stove which can be moved around from one
  99. 4:40place to another they think that is not
  100. 4:42capable of cooking their meals for eight
  101. 4:44people also or 10 people so it is very
  102. 4:47essential to show them handhold them
  103. 4:50make a behavior change and give them an
  104. 4:53idea that this stove is good enough as
  105. 4:55good as or better in cooking than the
  106. 4:58traditional stove
  107. 5:01and it has other benefits also which
  108. 5:03were not tangible to them when they were
  109. 5:05only using the traditional stove
  110. 5:31if you compare this execution of this
  111. 5:34cook store program compared to anything
  112. 5:35else which happened it takes a lot of
  113. 5:37efforts but it's worth it it's worth it
  114. 5:39for improving the quality of the project
  115. 5:42we have maintained a strong bond with
  116. 5:45the community so that we continuously
  117. 5:48incentivize them motivate them to use
  118. 5:50the product and I think that's the USP
  119. 5:52that kosher brings and it's improved
  120. 5:54cook project it's not really just a
  121. 5:56distribution and forget project it's a
  122. 5:58holistic approach in which which we are
  123. 6:00trying to make sure that every single
  124. 6:02beneficiary is serious about the product
  125. 6:04and is using the
  126. 6:09product improved cook stuff not only
  127. 6:11provides a healthy life for women but it
  128. 6:14also reduces the deforestation in that
  129. 6:16area allowing the Regeneration of the
  130. 6:19green area in that region this could be
  131. 6:21indeed a new way of life
  132. 6:32audio jungle
  133. 6:34[Music]
