4. 0:08ask us where to stay for convenience.
5. 0:12However, after visiting Tokyo so many times,
6. 0:15we feel that there isn't one "best" area to stay in.
7. 0:18It depends on your travel itinerary.
8. 0:21When booking hotels in Tokyo, our
9. 0:24first consideration is always transportation.
10. 0:26We usually choose to stay along the Yamanote Line,
11. 0:29since Tokyo is really big
12. 0:31, and the accumulated travel time can be quite significant.
13. 0:33Choosing the right location
14. 0:35can save a lot of travel time
15. 0:37and reduce the number of transfers,
16. 0:39making the whole trip much easier.
17. 0:42We also decide on the location based on our itinerary.
18. 0:46If the trip mainly involves shopping in areas like Shinjuku and Shibuya,
19. 0:49then we'll prioritize places with convenient transportation
20. 0:52and good amenities.
21. 0:54If we want to plan a day trip to a more distant suburb,
22. 0:57we'll choose areas with convenient transfers or close to major stations.

28. 1:25If it's your first time traveling to Tokyo independently,
29. 1:27I highly recommend considering Ikebukuro.
30. 1:29Ikebukuro is one of Tokyo's most bustling sub-centers, and
31. 1:33its transportation is incredibly convenient.
32. 1:35Besides the well-known JR Yamanote Line
33. 1:38, there are also the Saikyo Line,
34. 1:40Shonan-Shinjuku Line ,
35. 1:41Seibu Ikebukuro Line ,
36. 1:43Tobu Tojo Line, and the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line, Fukutoshin Line
37. 1:47, Marunouchi Line, and
38. 1:50many other lines all converging here.

65. 3:07If you're flying in or out of Tokyo via Haneda Airport
66. 3:10, we highly recommend staying in Hamamatsucho.
67. 3:14Its biggest advantage is its transportation.
68. 3:16Besides the JR Yamanote Line
69. 3:19, the most convenient option is the Tokyo Monorail,
70. 3:22which runs directly from Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho without any transfers. This is
71. 3:26incredibly convenient for those with large luggage, saving you a lot of hassle
72. 3:31after arriving in Tokyo and eliminating the need to drag your bags around.
73. 3:33You can then rest at the hotel.
74. 3:36Returning by plane is equally convenient.
75. 3:38Besides, many people don't know
76. 3:39that traveling from Hamamatsucho to Yokohama is also quite convenient.
77. 3:43Taking the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line provides a quick and easy way to reach Yokohama,
78. 3:47making it perfect for a day trip.
79. 3:51Furthermore, Hamamatsucho's location is very close to Tokyo Harbor.

132. 6:39but is less commonly considered. Sugamo's
133. 6:43location on the JR Yamanote Line has the biggest advantage of being perfectly situated.
134. 6:49Whether heading left towards Shinjuku or Shibuya
135. 6:53, or right towards Ueno or Tokyo,
