- 0:00These are the 20 best mods for Project
- 0:02Zomboid build 42 stable. This video is a
- 0:04combination of my previous two videos
- 0:06put together. And if you enjoy, please
- 0:08subscribe and help me reach 5,000
- 0:10subscribers. Anyways, let's get into the
- 0:12video. Starting off at number one, we
- 0:14have spawn selector. And this mod
- 0:16replaces the normal starting location
- 0:18list with a full world map, letting you
- 0:20choose exactly where your character
- 0:21spawns. You still create your world,
- 0:23occupation, traits, and character like
- 0:25normal. But before entering the game,
- 0:27you can move around the entire map, zoom
- 0:29in, and click the exact location where
- 0:31you want to start. You can even choose
- 0:33different floors, which means you can
- 0:34spawn on the ground floor, inside a
- 0:36basement, or at the top of a large
- 0:38building. There is also a random spawn
- 0:40challenge option that hides your
- 0:41destination, so you will have no idea
- 0:43where the mod sends you. [music] The mod
- 0:45supports single player, multiplayer, and
- 0:47compatible map mods. It automatically
- 0:49reads the maps enabled in your world, so
- 0:51custom towns should appear without
- 0:52needing to set up everything manually.
- 0:54It also gives you a short safe arrival
- 0:56period after spawning. Nearby zombies
- 0:58are cleared while the area loads, which
- 1:00stops you from dying before you even
- 1:02gain control. Overall, spawn selector is
- 1:04perfect for challenge runs, roleplay, or
- 1:06anyone who wants full control over where
- 1:08their next character spawns. At number
- 1:10two, we have This is Your Life. And this
- 1:12mod completely replaces the normal
- 1:14character creation screen with a much
- 1:16more immersive system. Instead of simply
- 1:18choosing a town from a list, you look
- 1:19through postcards from seven different
- 1:21Kentucky locations. Your hometown
- 1:23decides where you spawn, reveals part of
- 1:25the local map, gives you a special
- 1:27origin trait, and also provides an extra
- 1:29bonus. For example, Riverside gives you
- 1:31fishing levels, Muldraugh gives
- 1:32mechanics, and Fallas Lake gives aiming.
- 1:35Professions are now selected through
- 1:36newspaper job listings, while your
- 1:38traits are chosen through a personal
- 1:39assessment. You also create your
- 1:41character using a new Kentucky
- 1:42identification record that replaces the
- 1:44normal appearance screen. The biggest
- 1:46feature is that every vanilla profession
- 1:48now receives its own active ability. You
- 1:50can activate it with the G key, and the
- 1:52ability depends on your job. These can
- 1:54help you with things like endurance,
- 1:56healing, cooking, vehicles, fishing, and
- 1:58many other systems. Just keep in mind
- 2:00that this mod is still heavily work in
- 2:02progress, only supports single player
- 2:04right now, and may conflict with other
- 2:06mods that change character creation.
- 2:07Overall, this is your life mix creating
- 2:09a survivor feel like a part of the
- 2:11actual game, and gives your character
- 2:13much more personality before the
- 2:14apocalypse even begins. Number three, we
- 2:17have proximity inventory, and this is
- 2:18one of those quality of life mods that
- 2:20saves a huge amount of time while
- 2:22looting. Instead of opening every nearby
- 2:24container one by one, this mod combines
- 2:26all of them into a single inventory
- 2:27window. So, if you're searching a
- 2:29warehouse, looting a pile of zombies, or
- 2:31trying to remember where you left some
- 2:32ammo, you can see everything around you
- 2:34in one place. You can also take items
- 2:37directly from the combined inventory
- 2:38without clicking through every box,
- 2:40corpse, or shelf. Nearby containers can
- 2:42be highlighted, and there is an optional
- 2:44zombie only mode if you only want the
- 2:46feature while looting bodies. The mod
- 2:48can be enabled or disabled through the
- 2:50options, and it can also be added to an
- 2:52existing save. The workshop page says it
- 2:54supports multiplayer, but some recent
- 2:56build 42.20 comments report server
- 2:58problems. So, I would test it before
- 3:00adding to a huge multiplayer world.
- 3:02Overall, proximity inventory makes
- 3:03looting much faster and removes a lot of
- 3:05unnecessary clicking. Once you get used
- 3:07to it, going back to the normal
- 3:09inventory system feels painfully slow.
- 3:11And number four, we have infirmities.
- 3:13This mod adds several new illnesses,
- 3:15physical conditions, and long-term
- 3:16problems that can completely change how
- 3:18your character plays. The current
- 3:20version includes schizophrenia,
- 3:22Parkinson's disease, anxiety,
- 3:24narcolepsy, scoliosis, and dynamic
- 3:26addictions. Each condition brings its
- 3:28own effects and problems. So, your
- 3:30character may deal with things like
- 3:31panic, unusual events, physical
- 3:33limitations, or addictions that become
- 3:35harder to manage over time. The mod also
- 3:37includes the creator's older They Are
- 3:39Watching mod. So, some conditions can
- 3:41cause audio, dialogue, fake infection,
- 3:43and even visual hallucinations. This can
- 3:45make normal exploration much more
- 3:47unpredictable because you may not always
- 3:49know whether or around you is real. Just
- 3:51keep in mind that Infirmities is still
- 3:53being developed, requires Moodle
- 3:54framework, and Technolit, and currently
- 3:56does not support multiplayer. The
- 3:58creator also makes it clear and they're
- 3:59not meant to accurately represent real
- 4:01medical experiences. Overall,
- 4:03Infirmities is a great mod for players
- 4:05who want more difficult and unusual
- 4:07character runs where survival is not
- 4:08only about fighting zombies. And with
- 4:11build 42 stable released, it has never
- 4:13been easier to play multiplayer with
- 4:15your friends with this video's sponsor.
- 4:17Do you want to make a Project Zomboid
- 4:18server for you and your friends? Then
- 4:20you should check out this video's
- 4:21sponsor, Pine Hosting. [music]
- 4:23Pine Hosting makes setting up a Project
- 4:24Zomboid server fast and simple. You can
- 4:26create a server in just a few minutes.
- 4:28Their panel is easy to use and they
- 4:30offer great performance for a good price
- 4:32with global locations and full DDoS
- 4:34protection. They also have a built-in
- 4:36workshop installer, so adding mods is
- 4:38really simple. And if you're coming from
- 4:40another host, they can help you transfer
- 4:42your server over without any hassle.
- 4:44They also host more than just Project
- 4:45Zomboid, games like Minecraft, Rust, and
- 4:48more. You can get 30% off your first
- 4:50month by using the code ZUBIS PZ and
- 4:52using the link in the description. And
- 4:54thank you Pine Hosting for sponsoring
- 4:55this video. At number five, we have Rip
- 4:57All Button in Context Menu. And this is
- 4:59a simple quality of life mod that makes
- 5:01ripping clothes much faster. Instead of
- 5:03clicking every clothing item one by one,
- 5:05the mod adds a new option that just lets
- 5:07you rip everything in your inventory and
- 5:09nearby containers with a single click.
- 5:11You can choose to rip all clothing or
- 5:13select materials like leather, denim, or
- 5:16cotton. The mod still follows normal
- 5:18vanilla rules, so will not let you rip
- 5:20items that are not supposed to be
- 5:21ripped. You also still need scissors or
- 5:23a sharpened knife for denim and leather.
- 5:25It works in single player and
- 5:26multiplayer, supports existing saves,
- 5:28and is also compatible with Clean UI.
- 5:30[music] Just keep in mind that the
- 5:32current build 42.20 version uses a
- 5:34temporary fix, so you should get the
- 5:36correct amount of sheets, but some of
- 5:38them may appear clean instead of dirty
- 5:40for now. Overall, this mod removes a lot
- 5:42of repetitive clicking and makes
- 5:44collecting sheets and materials much
- 5:46quicker. At number six, we have better
- 5:48auto mechanics. And this mod makes
- 5:50leveling the mechanic skill much faster
- 5:52and less annoying. To use it, open the
- 5:54mechanics window on any vehicle, right
- 5:56click a part, and select train
- 5:58mechanics. Your character will then
- 5:59automatically install and remove useful
- 6:02parts to gain XP. The mod is also smart
- 6:04enough to know when a vehicle can no
- 6:06longer give you mechanics XP. It will
- 6:08warn you instead of wasting time or
- 6:10damaging parts for no reason. If zombies
- 6:12interrupt you or cancel your action, you
- 6:15can continue from where you were
- 6:16stopped. You can also choose how safe
- 6:18the training should be. From working on
- 6:20every possible part to only using parts
- 6:22with guaranteed success chance. Another
- 6:24useful feature is batch uninstalling.
- 6:26You can quickly remove all tires, doors,
- 6:29or even completely strip a vehicle with
- 6:31one click. It works in single player and
- 6:34multiplayer, is safe to add or remove
- 6:36mid-save, and supports most vehicle
- 6:38mods. Overall, better auto mechanics
- 6:40removes a lot of repetitive clicking and
- 6:42makes training mechanics much smoother.
- 6:45At number seven, we have simple
- 6:46flashlight on belt. And this mod does
- 6:48exactly what the name says. It lets you
- 6:51attach a flashlight directly to your
- 6:52belt. This means you can keep both hands
- 6:54free while still having light in dark
- 6:56buildings or during the night. It is
- 6:58especially useful when using two-handed
- 7:00weapons, because you no longer need to
- 7:02constantly switch between your weapon
- 7:04and your flashlight. You can turn the
- 7:05flashlight on and off by pressing F or
- 7:08by using its belt hot key. The mod also
- 7:10allows angle flashlights to be equipped
- 7:12on your belt instead of mounted on
- 7:14netting. Overall, this is a very simple
- 7:16mod, but once you start using it,
- 7:18playing without it feels much more
- 7:19annoying. At number eight, we have
- 7:21Beyond 10. This mod allows every
- 7:23trainable skill to continue past level
- 7:2510, all the way up to level 15. Once you
- 7:28reach level 10, you simply keep earning
- 7:30XP from the same actions as before.
- 7:32There are no special books, tokens, or
- 7:34separate menus. The normal skill panel
- 7:36expands with five extra golden levels,
- 7:38and all progress is saved with your
- 7:40character. Those mastery levels also
- 7:42give additional bonuses. Weapon skills
- 7:44and aiming deal more damage. Strength
- 7:47increases your carry capacity. Fitness
- 7:49improves endurance. And maintenance
- 7:51gives you a better chance to prevent
- 7:53weapons from losing condition. Crafting,
- 7:55medical, survival, and mechanical skills
- 7:57also make their related actions faster.
- 7:59But reaching these new levels still
- 8:01requires a huge amount of XP. So the mod
- 8:04gives long-term players something useful
- 8:05to work towards without making
- 8:07progression too easy. It supports both
- 8:09build 41 and build 42. Works in
- 8:12multiplayer. Can even detect many custom
- 8:14skills added by other mods. Overall,
- 8:17Beyond 10 is perfect for long
- 8:18playthroughs where reaching level 10
- 8:20normally leaves you with nothing else to
- 8:22improve. At number nine, we have
- 8:24Banger's retro car dashboard. This mod
- 8:26completely replaces the normal vehicle
- 8:27dashboard with a much more detailed
- 8:29retro design. It adds animated speed and
- 8:32RPM gauges, a segmented fuel display,
- 8:35digital readouts for your current gear
- 8:37and cruise control speed, and warning
- 8:39lights for things like the engine,
- 8:40battery, doors, trunk, radio,
- 8:43headlights, and temperature. The
- 8:44dashboard also changes depending on
- 8:46whether it is day or night with a smooth
- 8:48backlight effect. It can even flicker
- 8:50when the vehicle takes damage, which is
- 8:52a really nice small detail. Most of the
- 8:54controls are clickable, too. So you can
- 8:56start the engine, use the lights, open
- 8:58doors, control the radio and heater, or
- 9:00insert the key directly from the
- 9:01dashboard. You can also resize the
- 9:03entire panel from 50 to 150%, and the
- 9:06setting is saved between sessions.
- 9:08Overall, this mod does not change how
- 9:10vehicles work, but it can make driving
- 9:12feel much more immersive and gives that
- 9:14interference a lot more personality. And
- 9:16finally, at number 10, we have the horse
- 9:18mod. This mod adds fully ridable horses
- 9:21to Project Zomboid, giving you a
- 9:22completely new way to travel around the
- 9:24map. You can find horses at farms,
- 9:27ranches, and stables with four different
- 9:29breeds and multiple color variations.
- 9:32Once you find one, you can mount it and
- 9:34travel by walking, trotting, or
- 9:36galloping. Horses can also jump over
- 9:37small fences while galloping, and you
- 9:39can kick nearby zombies without getting
- 9:41off. This makes them both useful for
- 9:43transportation and escaping dangerous
- 9:45situations. You can craft and equip
- 9:47different gear, including reins,
- 9:49saddles, [music] and saddlebags.
- 9:50Saddlebags give your horse additional
- 9:52storage, while riding without a saddle
- 9:54eventually causes pain to your
- 9:55character. Just make sure the mod is
- 9:57enabled before launching the game and
- 9:59creating a save, because otherwise the
- 10:01animations or horse spawn zones may not
- 10:03load correctly. Riding is also currently
- 10:05disabled in multiplayer, although
- 10:07multiplayer support is planned for a
- 10:08future update. Overall, this is one of
- 10:10the most immersive build 42 mods
- 10:12available and makes exploring the huge
- 10:15Project Zomboid map much more
- 10:16interesting. Starting off at number one,
- 10:19we have Vanilla Weapons Plus, and this
- 10:21mod upgrades the game's vanilla firearms
- 10:23with new animations, extra mechanics,
- 10:26and several new weapon, while still
- 10:28keeping everything balanced and true to
- 10:30the vanilla style. One of the biggest
- 10:32improvements is the new weapon
- 10:33animations. Shotguns now pump after
- 10:36every shot, pistols have moving slides,
- 10:38and rifles cycle their bolts when
- 10:40firing. These are small changes, but
- 10:42they make every weapon feel much more
- 10:44satisfying to use. The mod also expands
- 10:46the vanilla arsenal with several new
- 10:48firearms, including the AK-47, M4
- 10:51Carbine, MP5, SR-25 Police Rifle,
- 10:54Beretta M93R, Ruger AC556, and a
- 10:58full-auto M16A3. All of them are
- 11:00designed to fit naturally into Project
- 11:02Zomboid, instead of feeling overpowered
- 11:04or out of place. Some weapons now
- 11:06support multiple compatible magazines,
- 11:08giving you a bit more variety when
- 11:10managing your ammo. Automatic weapons
- 11:12also have improved fire rates, and the
- 11:14vanilla M16 now correctly fires in burst
- 11:16mode. The mod even adds attachable
- 11:18bayonets to certain firearm, letting you
- 11:21shove zombies with your weapon by
- 11:22pressing the space bar. Another nice
- 11:24addition is the new 7.62 mm ammunition,
- 11:27which is used by the AK-47. The mod also
- 11:30includes support for Slayer's Item
- 11:31Arrange and Stimpak Ammo Maker if you're
- 11:33already using those mods. [music] To use
- 11:35this mod, you'll need the Gun Works
- 11:37Framework while Hot Brass and Hot Brass
- 11:39Ammo Craft are optional if you want
- 11:41visible shell casings and your
- 11:42ammunition crafting. Overall, Vanilla
- 11:44Weapons Plus is a great choice if you
- 11:46enjoy vanilla firearms but want them to
- 11:48feel smoother, more immersive, and a lot
- 11:50more modern without completely changing
- 11:52how Project Zomboid's gun play works.
- 11:54And number two, we have PZ Pulse and
- 11:57this mod gives you a life dashboard that
- 11:59shows almost every thing about your
- 12:00character in real time. Instead of
- 12:02constantly opening different menus in
- 12:04game, you can keep all of your important
- 12:06information visible at a glance. The
- 12:08dashboard opens in your web browser
- 12:10making it perfect for a second monitor
- 12:12or even a separate window on your
- 12:14desktop. From there, you can monitor
- 12:16things like your character's profession,
- 12:17traits, weight, favorite weapon, zombie
- 12:20kills, and time survived without ever
- 12:22interrupting your gameplay. It also
- 12:24displays every skill along with your
- 12:25current XP progress, health information
- 12:28for every body part, clothing
- 12:29protection, body temperature, moodles,
- 12:32hunger, thirst, panic, stress, fatigue,
- 12:35and plenty of other survival stats.
- 12:37Everything updates live while you're
- 12:39playing so you always know exactly
- 12:40what's happening with your character.
- 12:42The mod also includes several extra
- 12:44panels that aren't available in the
- 12:45vanilla character menu. You can check
- 12:47your equipped weapons durability,
- 12:49ammunition, chamber status, and
- 12:51attachments. See the condition of every
- 12:53piece of clothing you're wearing,
- 12:55monitor your current carry weight,
- 12:56quickly view untreated wounds, keep
- 12:58track of your hot bar equipment, and
- 13:00even see recently learned crafting
- 13:01recipes. One of the best features is how
- 13:04customizable everything is. You can drag
- 13:06panels around, change how many columns
- 13:08the dashboard uses, hide anything you
- 13:10don't need, adjust the font and icon
- 13:12sizes, and even change the update
- 13:14animations. Your layout is saved
- 13:16automatically so you only have to set it
- 13:18up once. The dashboard doesn't connect
- 13:20to any external servers and runs
- 13:21completely on your own computer. It also
- 13:24has no dependencies and works in both
- 13:26single player and multiplayer. Overall,
- 13:28PZ Tools is an incredibly useful
- 13:30quality-of-life mod that gives you
- 13:31almost every important piece of
- 13:33information in one place. If you have a
- 13:35second monitor, this is easily one of
- 13:37the best interface mods you can install.
- 13:39At number three, we have PZ Map. And
- 13:41this mod lets you keep your in-game map
- 13:43open on a second monitor or separate
- 13:45window without covering your screen. It
- 13:47updates in real time, so you can always
- 13:49see where you are where you play. The
- 13:51map uses the same detail as the vanilla
- 13:53map, including roads, buildings,
- 13:55forests, lakes, and location names. As
- 13:58you explore the world, your position
- 14:00updates live, and the fog of war clears
- 14:02just like it does in game. If you read
- 14:04maps or collect flyers, those
- 14:06discoveries will also automatically
- 14:08appear. Any notes or markers you place
- 14:10on your in-game map are shown on the
- 14:12browser map as well, making it really
- 14:14useful if you like marking safehouses,
- 14:16loot locations, or places you want to
- 14:18revisit later. The mod also includes
- 14:20several extra features that make
- 14:22navigation even easier. You can enable
- 14:24an isometric view that matches the
- 14:25game's perspective, display the vanilla
- 14:27map legend, and even show your current
- 14:30direction as if you're carrying a
- 14:31compass. There is also a follow mode
- 14:33that keeps your character centered on
- 14:35the map as you move around the world.
- 14:37For players looking for a little more
- 14:38realism, the mod also includes an
- 14:40optional darkness overlay. Just like in
- 14:42the base game, you'll need a light
- 14:44source if you want to read your map in
- 14:45the dark. Everything is fully
- 14:47customizable as well. You can toggle map
- 14:49labels, notes, fog of war, the cell
- 14:51grid, and the darkness overlay
- 14:53independently. The interface size can
- 14:55also be adjusted, and all of your
- 14:57settings are saved automatically in your
- 14:58browser. Overall, PZ Map is an excellent
- 15:01quality-of-life mod, especially if you
- 15:02have a second monitor. It lets you keep
- 15:04your map open at all times without
- 15:06blocking your gameplay, making
- 15:08navigation much easier during long
- 15:10survival runs. At number four, we have
- 15:12the computer mod. And this mod turns the
- 15:14decorative computers around the world
- 15:16into fully functional machines with
- 15:18their own operating system,
- 15:20applications, and even an internet that
- 15:22you can actually use. Once you find a
- 15:24working computer, you can install an
- 15:26operating system, browse different
- 15:28websites, download games, read digital
- 15:31magazines and newspapers, watch videos,
- 15:34and even communicate with other players.
- 15:36It basically transforms computers from
- 15:38useless furniture into something you'll
- 15:40actually want to loot. One of the
- 15:42biggest features is the collection of
- 15:44playable games. There are currently 24
- 15:46different games that you can either
- 15:47install from the game CDs you find
- 15:49around the world or download from the
- 15:51internet. Downloads take time to finish,
- 15:53but you don't have to stand next to the
- 15:55computer while they download. Just don't
- 15:57shut the computer off, or the download
- 15:59will be canceled. Playing games also
- 16:01helps reduce boredom, stress, and
- 16:03sadness. Although losing can increase
- 16:05your stress a little. The mod also
- 16:07includes several built-in applications.
- 16:09You can create emails, send messages to
- 16:11other players, chat privately, leave
- 16:14public messages on a message board, draw
- 16:16pictures with paint, use a calculator,
- 16:18listen to music, and even buy items or
- 16:21complete jobs through the in-game market
- 16:22system. Computers also have a complete
- 16:25file system. You can create folders,
- 16:27organize files, rename them, restore
- 16:30deleted files from the trash, and even
- 16:33use blank CDs to store files or burn
- 16:35copies of installed games. Some
- 16:37computers you find around the map may
- 16:39already contain magazines, newspapers,
- 16:41or video files they can read or watch.
- 16:43And recipe magazines can teach the same
- 16:45recipes as their physical versions. Not
- 16:48every computer is easy to access though.
- 16:50Some are protected with passwords, while
- 16:52others don't even have an operating
- 16:54system installed. You can find the
- 16:56password, hack it with a password hack
- 16:58CD, or completely reset the drive
- 17:00through the BIOS. Although doing that
- 17:02deletes everything stored on the
- 17:03computer. The internet is also affected
- 17:06by the apocalypse. Depending on your
- 17:08sandbox settings, the network can
- 17:10eventually go offline after the power
- 17:12grid fails. To bring it back, you'll
- 17:14need to find special relay terminals
- 17:16around the map and repair them using
- 17:18electrical skill and electronic parts.
- 17:20The mod also works both in single player
- 17:22and multiplayer, can be added to
- 17:24existing saves, and doesn't require
- 17:25starting a new world. [music] Overall,
- 17:28the computer mod is one of the most
- 17:29unique build 42 mods available. It adds
- 17:32an entire computer system to Project
- 17:34Zomboid, giving you dozens of new things
- 17:36to discover, and making abandoned
- 17:38offices and homes feel much more
- 17:40interactive. At number five, we have
- 17:41plane crash event. And this mod adds
- 17:43random aircraft crashes to your world,
- 17:45creating dangerous events that can
- 17:47completely change an ordinary day of
- 17:49survival. Between days one and three, a
- 17:51plane, helicopter, or military jet can
- 17:53suddenly crash somewhere near your
- 17:55location. When it happens, you'll hear
- 17:57the aircraft overhead before it slams
- 17:59into the ground, destroying everything
- 18:01in its path and leaving behind a massive
- 18:03crash site to discover. These crashes
- 18:04aren't just for the show, either. They
- 18:06can tear through buildings, destroy
- 18:08walls, and completely change parts of
- 18:09the map. If your base happens to be in
- 18:11the wrong place at the wrong time, it
- 18:12could end up taking some serious damage.
- 18:15The creator also adjusted the events so
- 18:16the planes no longer can directly crash
- 18:18on top of the player. Instead, they'll
- 18:20spawn around 20 tiles away, making the
- 18:22event a little fairer while still
- 18:24keeping the same surprise factor. There
- 18:25are also several sandbox options
- 18:27available if you'd like to customize how
- 18:29crashes work in your world. Just keep in
- 18:31mind that these events are intentionally
- 18:33very dangerous. The creator even warns
- 18:35that these crashes can easily end your
- 18:36run if you're caught too close. So,
- 18:38you'll want to be prepared whenever you
- 18:40hear an aircraft flying overhead. At the
- 18:42moment, the mod only supports single
- 18:44player, so it won't work on multiplayer
- 18:45servers yet. Overall, plane crash event
- 18:48is a simple, but incredibly memorable
- 18:49mod that makes the world feel much more
- 18:51unpredictable. You never know when a
- 18:53peaceful day of looting could suddenly
- 18:54turn into complete chaos. At number six,
- 18:57we have dark presence. And this mod
- 18:59completely changes how nights work by
- 19:01introducing a new type of infected that
- 19:03can only be killed with light. Once the
- 19:05sun goes down, some zombies become
- 19:07taken. Unlike normal zombies, they're
- 19:10are by a shield of darkness that blocks
- 19:12all damage. You can empty an entire
- 19:15magazine into one and it won't do
- 19:17anything until you burn away its shield
- 19:19using a flashlight, road flare, vehicle
- 19:21headlights, or even daylight. As you
- 19:24shine a light on a Taken, a small ring
- 19:26appears around it showing how much of
- 19:28the darkness shield is left. Once the
- 19:30shield is gone, it becomes a normal
- 19:31zombie that can be killed like any
- 19:33other. If you don't finish it off before
- 19:35it escapes back into darkness, its
- 19:37shield will slowly regenerate, meaning
- 19:39you'll have to burn it away all over
- 19:41again. The mod also changes how these
- 19:43zombies behave. Taken aren't afraid of
- 19:45the dark and they'll wait just outside
- 19:47brightly lit rooms instead of walking
- 19:49into them. This lets you use lights as a
- 19:51safe zone, but the moment you step back
- 19:54into the darkness, they'll immediately
- 19:56start chasing you again. Bad weather
- 19:58like rain, fog, and storms also makes
- 20:01things much harder since natural light
- 20:03becomes less effective and you'll have
- 20:04to rely more on your own light sources.
- 20:07Alongside the survival mechanics, the
- 20:09mod also includes a full story. As you
- 20:11kill Taken, they can drop pages from a
- 20:13mysterious manuscript that slowly
- 20:15reveals what's happening in Knox County.
- 20:18Each page pushes the story forward, but
- 20:20reading them also makes the game more
- 20:22difficult by introducing new events and
- 20:24slowly reducing the amount of daylight
- 20:26you have each day. If you manage to
- 20:27collect and read all 11 pages, you'll
- 20:30unlock one of the two possible endings
- 20:32depending on the choices you make. There
- 20:34are also plenty of sandbox options
- 20:36allowing you to customize things like
- 20:37when the Taken appear, how quickly their
- 20:39shields break, how many spawn, and
- 20:42whether you want to play with the full
- 20:43story or just the survival mechanics.
- 20:46The mod works with existing saves and
- 20:47supports multiplayer, although the story
- 20:49mode is only available in single player.
- 20:52It also requires the zombie body
- 20:53framework to run. Overall, Dark Presence
- 20:56is one of the most unique horror mods
- 20:58available for Project Zomboid. It
- 20:59completely changes how you approach the
- 21:01night and adds a survival experience
- 21:03that feels heavily inspired by Alan
- 21:05Wake, making every trip into the
- 21:07darkness much more intense. At number
- 21:09seven, we have practice crafting skills.
- 21:11And this one makes leveling your
- 21:12crafting skills much more practical by
- 21:14adding recipes that let you train them
- 21:16whenever you have the right tools and
- 21:18materials. Instead of waiting until you
- 21:20actually need to craft something, you
- 21:21can simply practice different skills to
- 21:23earn XP. [music] The mod currently
- 21:24supports snapping, carving, pottery,
- 21:27blacksmithing, carpentry, electronics,
- 21:29glass making, masonry, mechanics,
- 21:31tailoring, and welding. Giving you a way
- 21:33to level almost every crafting
- 21:35profession in the game. Each skill comes
- 21:37with three different practice recipes.
- 21:38You'll start with the simple version at
- 21:40level zero, unlock the intermediate
- 21:42version at level two, and finally the
- 21:44advanced version at level four. Higher
- 21:45tiers reward more experience while
- 21:47usually taking the same amount of time,
- 21:49representing your character practicing
- 21:51more advanced techniques. Overall,
- 21:53practice crafting skills is a simple but
- 21:55very useful quality of life mod that
- 21:56makes leveling crafting skills feel much
- 21:58more consistent while still requiring
- 22:00the proper tools and resources to
- 22:02progress. At number eight, we have Knox
- 22:04Build Works. And this mod completely
- 22:06overhauls the building system by [music]
- 22:07replacing the vanilla menu with a much
- 22:10more organized and feature-packed
- 22:11construction interface. Instead of
- 22:13scrolling through dozens of recipes,
- 22:15everything is placed into a searchable
- 22:17catalog. You can search by recipe name,
- 22:19required materials, or browse different
- 22:21categories like walls, furniture,
- 22:23floors, doors, and much more. You can
- 22:26also favorite recipes, pin them, and
- 22:28quickly access the ones you've used the
- 22:30most. One of the biggest improvements is
- 22:32how construction recipes are displayed.
- 22:34Similar buildables are grouped together
- 22:36instead of being split into separate
- 22:38entries. The mod also clearly shows
- 22:40every requirement before you start
- 22:42building, including the tools,
- 22:43materials, skill levels, crafting
- 22:46recipes, and even possible alternative
- 22:48ingredients you can use. Knox Build
- 22:50Works also introduces a full blueprint
- 22:52planning system. Instead of placing
- 22:54objects immediately, you can create
- 22:56building plans that don't consume any
- 22:58resources. These blueprints remember the
- 23:00exact object, rotation, material, color,
- 23:03and position, allowing you to design an
- 23:05entire base before collecting the
- 23:07materials needed to build it. Overall,
- 23:09Knox Build Works is one of the biggest
- 23:11building overhauls available for Project
- 23:13Zomboid. If you enjoy base building, it
- 23:15makes planning, organizing, and
- 23:17constructing large projects much easier,
- 23:20while giving you access to a huge
- 23:22collection of additional buildable
- 23:23objects. At number nine, we have Carry
- 23:25Visible Items in Hands. And this mod
- 23:28makes carrying items much more immersive
- 23:30by displaying them in your character's
- 23:31hands instead of making them disappear
- 23:33into thin air. In the vanilla game, some
- 23:35items like water buckets are still
- 23:37visible while they're carrying them, but
- 23:39most objects simply vanish as soon as
- 23:41you equip them. This mod expands that
- 23:42system to over 250 different items,
- 23:45making the world feel much more
- 23:46believable. It supports a huge variety
- 23:48of objects, including bottles, canteens,
- 23:51radios, CD players, propane tanks,
- 23:54watering cans, water dispensers, water
- 23:56dispenser bottles, and even larger
- 23:58vehicle parts like wheels and hoods.
- 24:00Overall, [music] Carry Visible Items in
- 24:02Hands is a small but surprisingly
- 24:04immersive mod. Once you get used to
- 24:05actually seeing the items you're
- 24:07carrying, it's one of those visual
- 24:08improvements that's hard to play
- 24:10without. At number 10, we have Item
- 24:12Arrange. And this mod completely changes
- 24:14the way items are placed around the
- 24:15world by automatically arranging them in
- 24:17a clean and organized [music] way
- 24:19instead of dropping them into random
- 24:21piles. Normally, when you drop items on
- 24:23the ground or place them on furniture,
- 24:25they end up scattered all over the
- 24:26place. With this mod, items are neatly
- 24:29lined up on tables, shelves,
- 24:31countertops, and even the floor, making
- 24:33your base look much more organized and
- 24:35realistic. Overall, Item Arrange is one
- 24:37of those small quality of life mods that
- 24:39can completely change how your base
- 24:40looks. If you enjoy decorating your
- 24:42safehouse or simply want a cleaner and
- 24:44more organized world, this mod is
- 24:46definitely worth checking out.
