- 0:15Dear viewers, peace be upon you and the
- 0:17mercy of God and His blessings. In this
- 0:20episode, we will talk about the Isra,
- 0:23because. In the previous episode, we
- 0:25talked about the Mi'raj. It is our duty
- 0:27to also talk about the Isra. We will do
- 0:31as we did in the previous episode, and
- 0:33as we always do, we will rely only on
- 0:36the Book of God Almighty. Because it is
- 0:40the truth. As for people, many of them
- 0:43mix truth with falsehood. But we will
- 0:46remove this falsehood so that the truth
- 0:48may become clear to us. And we will
- 0:51know if the Isra, as we learned from
- 0:54our ancestors, is truly what happened.
- 0:58Meaning that our Messenger was taken by
- 1:02night from the mosque in Mecca to the
- 1:05mosque in Jerusalem. And he prayed with
- 1:08the messengers and these things. This
- 1:10is what we will clarify in this episode
- 1:12. Because there are things we might
- 1:14believe in that could lead us to Hell.
- 1:18And there are things that, if they are
- 1:20in the Quran and we disbelieve in them,
- 1:22might lead to Hell. That is why, in
- 1:25this episode, we will show whether
- 1:26these things are actually in the Quran
- 1:28or not. So that a person may pay
- 1:30attention to himself. And know that
- 1:32tomorrow, before God, neither a sheikh,
- 1:35nor an imam, nor messengers, nor
- 1:37companions will benefit him. What will
- 1:40benefit is the Quran that God sent down
- 1:42as guidance for mankind. And it is what
- 1:45he will be judged by, not any other
- 1:48book. This is what we will show, God
- 1:50willing, in this episode, in the way
- 1:52God has ordered—the Book—and
- 1:54according to the rules He, the Almighty
- 1:56, has set. So that we do not say about
- 1:59God what He did not say, or say about
- 2:01God or His Messenger what we do not
- 2:03know. The first thing I want to clarify
- 2:13are some matters. I have already
- 2:14clarified some of them before. It is
- 2:16that there are things, whether we know
- 2:18them from the Quran or not, that do not
- 2:21change our state in the least tomorrow
- 2:23on the Day of Resurrection. But
- 2:26religion, if we do not know it in its
- 2:29reality as God ordained it, this may
- 2:31lead us to dire consequences. As for
- 2:34what we will discuss in this episode,
- 2:37it relates to stories and not to
- 2:39religion. Meaning, whether we know it
- 2:41or not, it will not affect us tomorrow
- 2:44on the Day of Resurrection. But what
- 2:47will affect us is that these things.
- 2:51Might not be present in the Quran, yet
- 2:54we believe in them. This is called
- 2:56conjecture (Dhan). And many people will
- 2:58be held accountable for conjecture. And
- 3:01they have no. Knowledge of it; they
- 3:03follow nothing but conjecture, and
- 3:05conjecture avails nothing against the
- 3:07truth, because conjecture is to claim
- 3:09things while you have no evidence for
- 3:12them from the Quran, as we are talking
- 3:14about what relates to the Book of God
- 3:16Almighty. This is conjecture. And as I
- 3:19said, this conjecture will lead many
- 3:21people to dire consequences. So, in
- 3:24order not to follow this conjecture, we
- 3:26must search for the truth. Because if
- 3:29we say things and believe them and
- 3:31attribute them. to Allah Almighty or
- 3:33His Messenger, while not present in the
- 3:36Quran, this will affect us tomorrow on
- 3:38the Day of Judgment. If these things
- 3:41are in the Quran and we disbelieved in
- 3:43them, then we have disbelieved in the
- 3:45verses of Allah. Allah Almighty said: "
- 3:49Those who disbelieved in Our verses, We
- 3:51will cast them into a fire," not those
- 3:53who disbelieved in the narratives of
- 3:55the predecessors, in Prophetic hadiths,
- 3:57or in what the masses said, but rather
- 3:59in the verses of Allah Almighty.
- 4:02Therefore, we will clarify the verses
- 4:04of Allah. There is another thing I want
- 4:06to point out: every nation went to
- 4:09extremes regarding their messengers,
- 4:11and some of us have also gone to
- 4:13extremes regarding him, and there are
- 4:15still people going to extremes
- 4:17regarding the Messenger. This extremism
- 4:20regarding the messengers, in the
- 4:21general sense, may lead some people to
- 4:24dire consequences. For this reason, we
- 4:26will give examples of what happened to
- 4:29those before us. Allah Almighty told us
- 4:33: "In their stories, there was a lesson
- 4:34," so that we may take heed. But
- 4:37unfortunately, some of us have not
- 4:39learned from these stories. That is why
- 4:43some of them did as the predecessors
- 4:44did. Allah Almighty said in Surah
- 4:49Al-Ma'idah: "Certainly, those who say
- 4:51that Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary,
- 4:55have disbelieved." Pay attention, sir.
- 4:59Allah said: "Those who said have
- 5:01disbelieved," not "those who say." No,
- 5:06those who said have disbelieved. Why?
- 5:09Because disbelief is related to one who
- 5:12knows the truth. They change it,
- 5:15distort it, reject it, or turn away
- 5:17from it. This is disbelief. Disbelief
- 5:21is based on knowledge. Meaning, for a
- 5:24person to be among the disbelievers,
- 5:27they must first know the truth. And
- 5:30then they might change it, conceal it,
- 5:32distort it, and so on. That is why
- 5:35Allah said: "Those who said have
- 5:36disbelieved." And He did not say: "
- 5:38Those who said have associated partners
- 5:40." Because polytheism is related to
- 5:43ignorance, meaning misguidance, not
- 5:45disbelief. That is why He said: "Those
- 5:48who said have disbelieved," not "those
- 5:50who say." Who were those who lived with
- 5:53Jesus? Peace be upon him. They knew the
- 5:56truth. They knew he was not the son of
- 5:58God, but the messenger of God. But they
- 6:02changed this truth. That is why He said
- 6:05: "Certainly, those who said have
- 6:07disbelieved." And Allah Almighty said,
- 6:11again in Surah Al-Ma'idah: "Certainly,
- 6:13those who said have disbelieved"–
- 6:15always– "that Allah is the third of
- 6:17three." Meaning they were with Jesus
- 6:21and knew the truth. And some of them
- 6:25changed this truth. And those who came
- 6:29after them, until the Day of Judgment,
- 6:32are misguided, not disbelieving.
- 6:35Misguided means they are among the
- 6:36polytheists, those who associated
- 6:38others with Allah without authority.
- 6:40Authority, as is the case with many of
- 6:42the nation of the Quran. They believe
- 6:44what the predecessors said without
- 6:46examining the Book of Allah. Likewise,
- 6:49those believed in the Gospel of Luke,
- 6:51the Gospel of Matthew, the Gospel of
- 6:54Mark, and such things. And they did not
- 6:56return to the original Gospel, which is
- 6:59in Aramaic, and says something else.
- 7:03That is why Allah said: "Those who said
- 7:05." And when they said it, those others
- 7:08followed them. That is why a lie starts
- 7:12with one person. But this lie may
- 7:14spread, and millions of people believe
- 7:17in it. And they say what they said.
- 7:22That is why Allah said: "Those who said
- 7:24have disbelieved." Likewise, we have
- 7:27those who distorted truths after the
- 7:30death of the Messenger. Because during
- 7:32the era of the Messenger, no one dared
- 7:34to do so. That is why the hadiths were
- 7:36recorded more than 100 years after the
- 7:38death of the Messenger. Satan entered
- 7:41through this door and the door of
- 7:43narrations. We have become among those
- 7:46who follow what the predecessors said,
- 7:48without returning to the Book of God.
- 7:52But we will return to the Book of God
- 7:53Almighty. That is why we will clarify
- 7:55what our forefathers said regarding
- 7:57these things. And we will verify these
- 7:59matters so that we do not wrong. The
- 8:01Messenger out of ignorance, and wrong
- 8:03ourselves with dire consequences.
- 8:07Regarding the definition of the Isra:
- 8:10They define the Isra as the Prophet’s
- 8:13transition with Gabriel by night from
- 8:16the Sacred House in Mecca to the
- 8:18Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem on the
- 8:21mount Buraq. I swear by God, I have not
- 8:25found any trace of these things in the
- 8:28Book of God Almighty. I have not found
- 8:30it. And I do not know if our
- 8:32forefathers received some other
- 8:34revelation besides the Quran, because
- 8:35these things have no relation to the
- 8:37Book of God. And I explained in the
- 8:41previous episode, if the Messenger were
- 8:43in our days and this news reached us,
- 8:46we would say he traveled via a
- 8:48high-speed train, a fast plane, or
- 8:50things like that. But back then, the
- 8:53fastest thing to transport a person
- 8:55from place to place was a horse, and
- 8:58that is why they called it Buraq,
- 9:00meaning like lightning. Then they
- 9:03stated the reason for this miracle.
- 9:06They said it was to alleviate his pain
- 9:08and sorrows, meaning the Prophet’s,
- 9:10due to the harm he received from his
- 9:12people. To elevate the Prophet’s
- 9:16status and honor him, meaning God made
- 9:18this miracle to raise his rank. And
- 9:21these things and his situation were a
- 9:23matter of comfort and solace for the
- 9:25Prophet. Imagine a miracle just for God
- 9:29to console the Prophet, peace be upon
- 9:31him, and to define his status and worth
- 9:33before God. Since a new phase of his
- 9:36mission began afterward. In addition to
- 9:40it being a great favor to the Prophet,
- 9:41compensating him for what he
- 9:42encountered from the people of Taif and
- 9:44their rejection of him. And the
- 9:47Almighty said—they cited the verse: "
- 9:49That is the bounty from God, and God is
- 9:51sufficient as All-Knowing." First, this
- 9:53is a distortion of God’s words.
- 9:55Because this verse has nothing to do
- 9:57with the Messenger. Because it appeared
- 10:00in Surah An-Nisa after His saying: "And
- 10:02whoever obeys God and the Messenger—
- 10:04those will be with the ones upon whom
- 10:05God has bestowed favor of the prophets,
- 10:07the steadfast affirmers of truth, the
- 10:09martyrs and the righteous. And
- 10:11excellent are those as companions.""
- 10:14That is the bounty from God"—what is
- 10:16it? It is admitting all of them into
- 10:18Paradise, and God is sufficient as
- 10:20All-Knowing. It has no relation to the
- 10:23Messenger alone, nor to a specific
- 10:25group of believers, but to all the
- 10:27righteous. So when we cite verses that
- 10:30are out of place, know that there is a
- 10:33flaw in the subject matter. That is why
- 10:36we will point out the flaw, but we must
- 10:38know that God indeed mentioned. The
- 10:39Almighty, what happened to the Prophet?
- 10:41And the sadness that afflicted him due
- 10:43to these things. But He never said that
- 10:45He would take him on an Isra. No. The
- 10:48Almighty said in Surah Yusuf: "Until,
- 10:51when the messengers despaired." All the
- 10:53messengers, not just our Messenger. And
- 10:56thought that they had been denied. As
- 10:58happened to our Prophet, peace be upon
- 11:00him. "Our victory came to them.""And We
- 11:02saved whom We willed.""And Our
- 11:04punishment cannot be repelled from the
- 11:06criminal people." He did not take them
- 11:08up to the sky. He did not go to them.
- 11:10No. He punished the people who were
- 11:13rejecting them. And some of them He
- 11:15destroyed. Likewise, the Almighty said
- 11:17in Surah Al-Ahqaf: "So be patient, as
- 11:19were those of determination among the
- 11:21messengers.""And do not be impatient
- 11:23for them.""On the day they see what
- 11:25they are promised.""They will not
- 11:28remain except an hour of a day." Here,
- 11:30likewise, it did not speak of a
- 11:31person's transition from one place to
- 11:33another, from the earth to the sky.
- 11:35These things, no. He tells them to be
- 11:38patient until the victory comes. Either
- 11:40by conquest or by the destruction of
- 11:42these deniers. This is what he said.
- 11:45But do you know why our ancestors
- 11:47needed the matter of the Isra and
- 11:50Mi'raj? Because they wanted to prove to
- 11:53the people that the Prophet was indeed
- 11:55the Messenger of God. They would bring
- 11:57up miracles. And I always say that only
- 11:59those ignorant of the Quran need this.
- 12:02Because when you understand the Quran,
- 12:04study the Quran, and learn the Quran,
- 12:06it is enough for you, for example, His
- 12:07saying, Almighty and Majestic: "God
- 12:09takes the souls at the time of their
- 12:11death, and those that do not die in
- 12:12their sleep. He retains those for which
- 12:15He has decreed death and releases the
- 12:16others for a specified term." It is
- 12:18enough for you to know this verse.
- 12:20Because why? Because to understand this
- 12:23verse, you must study the entire Quran.
- 12:26And when you study all the Quran, you
- 12:29will see that this verse has no other
- 12:31verse in the Quran that contradicts or
- 12:34refutes it. Rather, it is a summary of
- 12:37everything God, Almighty and Majestic,
- 12:39has said. Regarding the term, the
- 12:41specified term, the dead, death, sleep,
- 12:43and taking the souls, all of it. It is
- 12:46a summary. So, for me, this verse is
- 12:49enough to know that the Quran is from
- 12:51God. And if the Quran is from God, then
- 12:54this is proof that the person who
- 12:56delivered it to us is truly the
- 12:57Messenger of God. And he is not a liar,
- 13:00not a magician, and not crazy. Nor any
- 13:02of these things. It makes you
- 13:03independent of God's creation. Because
- 13:05God in His Book shows that the earth
- 13:07rotates, that God created the heavens
- 13:09before the earth, and that He gave the
- 13:11earth gravity inside and around it. But
- 13:14our ancestors did not know these things
- 13:16, and since we relied on the
- 13:18interpretations of our ancestors,
- 13:19atheism arose because they found in our
- 13:21ancestors 'interpretations things that
- 13:23contradicted science and all these
- 13:25matters. Therefore, we always return
- 13:28directly to the Book of God and not to
- 13:29the interpretations. They said about
- 13:32Al-Aqsa Mosque that it is one of the
- 13:34largest mosques in the world and one of
- 13:36the three mosques to which Muslims
- 13:37travel, as the Prophet of Islam,
- 13:39Muhammad, said. I, by God, do not know
- 13:42where they got this expression; what
- 13:44does the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad,
- 13:45have to do with it? Islam does not have
- 13:48a prophet. Islam, O servants of God,
- 13:50does not have a prophet. And Islam is
- 13:51not Muhammad, O servants of God. God.
- 13:53By God, our ancestors' exaggeration
- 13:56regarding our Messenger made them say
- 13:58things. By God, it is enough for you to
- 14:00grasp the meaning of the Prophet and
- 14:02Islam and these things, and you will
- 14:03say, what is this talk? But never mind.
- 14:05The important thing is what we will
- 14:07come to next. So when they said, as he
- 14:09said. The Prophet of Islam, Muhammad,
- 14:11they said, and it is also the first of
- 14:13the two qiblas in Islam. By God, I do
- 14:17not know how, to this day, people say
- 14:19that Al-Aqsa Mosque is the first of the
- 14:22two qiblas. This, by God, I find
- 14:24strange. To this day, I say these
- 14:27things, O servants of God. The first
- 14:29qibla is the one we are facing, the
- 14:32Noble Kaaba. The first qibla is this
- 14:35qibla; it is where Abraham, peace be
- 14:37upon him, was. And it is the place that
- 14:40Abraham, peace be upon him, purified.
- 14:42And God said, "Take the Station of
- 14:43Abraham as a place of prayer." And it
- 14:45is the one. Abraham, peace be upon him,
- 14:48established prayer in it and performed
- 14:50the Hajj rituals for the first time. As
- 14:54for the Qibla of the Jews and
- 14:56Christians, it came later, as God
- 14:57Almighty stated in Surah Yunus. Because
- 15:01Moses, Joseph, Job, and all the
- 15:03messengers and prophets before Moses
- 15:05were performing prayer after Abraham,
- 15:08yet they did not know where Al-Aqsa
- 15:10Mosque was. God Almighty said in Surah
- 15:14Yunus: "And We inspired Moses and his
- 15:16brother, 'Settle your people in Egypt
- 15:19in houses and make your houses a Qibla
- 15:21and establish prayer and give good
- 15:23tidings to the believers.'" Why?
- 15:27Because when they left Jerusalem, they
- 15:29departed. So they had to establish
- 15:32prayer. God said, "Make your houses a
- 15:34Qibla," meaning the place where Al-Aqsa
- 15:37Mosque is. That is why they turned in
- 15:40this direction and left the Kaaba. This
- 15:43is where it changed; this is where the
- 15:45second Qibla came. That is why, when
- 15:48God Almighty changed the Qibla during
- 15:50the time of our Messenger, He said in
- 15:52Surah Al-Baqarah: "We have certainly
- 15:54seen the turning of your face, [O
- 15:55Muhammad], toward the heaven, and We
- 15:57will surely turn you to a Qibla with
- 15:59which you will be pleased. So turn your
- 16:01face...""...toward Al-Masjid Al-Haram."
- 16:04"And wherever you [believers] are, turn
- 16:06your faces toward it.""And those who
- 16:09were given the Scripture," meaning they
- 16:11know. The Torah and the Gospel. He said
- 16:14: "And those who were given the
- 16:16Scripture know it is the truth from
- 16:19their Lord." How do they know it is the
- 16:21truth when they do not know how to read
- 16:24the Quran? Because they know that the
- 16:27first Qibla was the honored Kaaba, not
- 16:29Al-Aqsa Mosque. That is why God
- 16:31Almighty said. "And those who were
- 16:33given the Scripture." It does not mean
- 16:34the Jews and Christians. It speaks
- 16:35about those who know. The truth from
- 16:37their books. So He said, "They know it
- 16:39is the truth from their Lord.""And God
- 16:41is not unaware of what they do." We
- 16:46will put all these things aside. And we
- 16:49will return to the Book of God Almighty
- 16:52. And we will clarify some facts. A
- 16:55human being is free to believe or
- 16:57disbelieve. If he believes, it will not
- 17:01change things. And if he disbelieves,
- 17:04it will not change any of these stories
- 17:06. We are just trying to reason and
- 17:09understand. So that we do not say.
- 17:11Things and believe in things that have
- 17:14no evidence from the Quran. God
- 17:16Almighty said in Surah Al-Isra: "
- 17:18Exalted is He who took His Servant by
- 17:20night from Al-Masjid Al-Haram to
- 17:22Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa, whose surroundings
- 17:25We have blessed, to show him of Our
- 17:27signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the
- 17:29Seeing." Immediately after that, He
- 17:32said: "And We gave Moses the Scripture.
- 17:34""And We made it a guidance for the
- 17:36Children of Israel." I do not know why
- 17:38we interpret His saying "His Servant"
- 17:39at that point. Is he our Messenger? He
- 17:43is not just our Messenger. He is the
- 17:45servant of God. Almighty. Not God. He
- 17:48mentioned other verses. God Almighty
- 17:49said in Surah Al-Kahf: "All praise is
- 17:51due to God, who has sent down upon His
- 17:53Servant, our Messenger, the Book.""And
- 17:55has not made therein any deviance." But
- 17:57He also said in Surah Maryam. The
- 17:59Almighty said: "A mention of the mercy
- 18:01of your Lord to His servant Zechariah."
- 18:04Here He specified Zechariah for us. God
- 18:07Almighty said in Surah Taha: "And We
- 18:09had already inspired Moses, 'Travel by
- 18:11night with My servants [the Children of
- 18:13Israel].'""And strike for them a path
- 18:15through the sea." Dry land. So why in
- 18:17this verse did we say "His servant"? It
- 18:19is that he is our Messenger, one who
- 18:21knows God directly. After that, He said
- 18:23: "And We gave Moses the Scripture."
- 18:25And He did not say: "And We gave
- 18:26Muhammad the Scripture." This is the
- 18:29first thing we must pay attention to.
- 18:32To clarify other things that we must
- 18:34also pay attention to. And that is His
- 18:36saying, Almighty, "by night from
- 18:38Al-Masjid Al-Haram to Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa
- 18:40." When God here says "Al-Masjid
- 18:42Al-Aqsa," He does not mean the mosque
- 18:45that. We know. We call it Al-Masjid
- 18:47Al-Aqsa. No, we call it by this name
- 18:50because our forefathers are the ones
- 18:52who applied this name to this sign.
- 18:55Just as we say, for example, "Caesarean
- 18:57." Was the Caesarean section named so
- 19:01because Caesar was born in this way?
- 19:04No. Rather, Caesar is the one who took
- 19:06the name of this procedure. Since he
- 19:09was born via a Caesarean section, he
- 19:12was called Caesar, not the other way
- 19:14around. It is the same here. The
- 19:17evidence is His saying, Almighty and
- 19:19Exalted is He, in Surah Al-Qasas: "And
- 19:22a man came from the farthest part of
- 19:24the city." He used the word "Aqsa," and
- 19:27it is always with an elongated Alif,
- 19:29not a broken one. I do not know why,
- 19:31because I have not pondered it. But
- 19:33there is evidence for that, and I do
- 19:35not know it. So He said: "And a man
- 19:38came from the farthest part of the city
- 19:39, running; he said, 'O Moses, the elite
- 19:41are conspiring against you.'" What does
- 19:44"Aqsa" mean? It means the distant place
- 19:46. The far one, the farthest place, the
- 19:48farthest limit of a place from the city
- 19:51. So when God said "Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa,"
- 19:54He means the distant mosque. Why?
- 19:57Because there is a mosque in Jerusalem
- 20:00and a mosque in Mecca. He was in Mecca
- 20:04and went to that mosque, the farthest
- 20:08mosque. That is why God named Al-Masjid
- 20:11Al-Aqsa the farthest one. Just as God,
- 20:15the Almighty and Exalted, when He uses
- 20:17the word "Misr"(Egypt), He does not
- 20:19mean the Egyptian state. No, "Misr" is
- 20:21the verb "Masara." And we say "Masara"
- 20:23a place, meaning he filled it with
- 20:25people, and trade and such things took
- 20:27place there. That is why God, the
- 20:28Almighty and Exalted, said: "Go down
- 20:30into Misr." Because they were in the
- 20:31desert. So they said, if you want these
- 20:34plants and vegetables, you must go to
- 20:36the place where there is farming,
- 20:37agriculture, and people. Because the
- 20:40desert does not have these things, so
- 20:42that is it. So when God said "Al-Masjid
- 20:44Al-Aqsa," He means the farthest mosque,
- 20:47not the name of that mosque. And the
- 20:50Almighty and Exalted said: "Whose
- 20:52surroundings We have blessed, [to show
- 20:54him] of Our signs. Indeed, He is the
- 20:57Hearing, the Seeing." If these signs
- 21:00were the ones people talk about, the
- 21:02beast and the Buraq. God would have had
- 21:05to show them to us because they are
- 21:07signs. And this would have proven to
- 21:10people that the Prophet is truly a
- 21:12messenger from God. Just as they used
- 21:14to ask him for miracles. That is why
- 21:18the Almighty and Exalted said: "Or do
- 21:20you intend to ask your Messenger as
- 21:22Moses was asked before?" And whoever
- 21:26exchanges faith for disbelief has
- 21:27certainly strayed from the straight
- 21:29path. So God should have said to them:
- 21:32Did you not see that we took him by
- 21:34night from the Sacred Mosque to the
- 21:35Farthest Mosque via the beast, and we
- 21:37ascended with him? He told them: Do not
- 21:41ask him. For God will not give him any
- 21:43miracle. The only miracle that our
- 21:46Messenger had was that Quran, which God
- 21:49named the Great Quran. It is a mercy to
- 21:52the worlds, not like the Torah, which
- 21:54is a mercy to the Children of Israel
- 21:56and a guidance to the Children of
- 21:58Israel. And when the Almighty and
- 22:00Exalted said: "Whose surroundings We
- 22:02have blessed, to show him of Our signs.
- 22:03" The Almighty and Exalted said in
- 22:06Surah Al-A'raf: "And We caused the
- 22:08people who had been oppressed to
- 22:09inherit." In the era of Pharaoh.
- 22:12Because after drowning Pharaoh, God
- 22:13made them inherit that land. So He said
- 22:15: "We caused the people who had been
- 22:16oppressed to inherit the eastern
- 22:17regions of the land and the western
- 22:18ones, which We have blessed." When He
- 22:20says the eastern regions of the land
- 22:21and its western ones, He does not mean
- 22:22the entire Earth. But that land where
- 22:24they used to live with Pharaoh. Meaning
- 22:26the whole of the land, its east and its
- 22:29west. The Almighty said in Surat
- 22:31Al-Anbiya: "And We delivered him and
- 22:33Lot to the land which We have blessed
- 22:35for the worlds," which is Mecca. For
- 22:38the worlds, not just for the Children
- 22:40of Israel. Mecca, and proclaim to the
- 22:43people the Hajj, not just to the
- 22:44Children of Israel or the Arabs, but to
- 22:46all the worlds. The Almighty also said
- 22:49in Surat Al-Qasas: "And when he came to
- 22:51it, he was called from the right side
- 22:52of the valley." In the blessed spot
- 22:56where the mosque we call Al-Aqsa Mosque
- 22:59is located, Jerusalem, meaning
- 23:01Ur-Shalim at that time, in the blessed
- 23:04spot by the tree. "O Moses, indeed I am
- 23:08Allah, Lord of the worlds." And now we
- 23:11shall. Clarify who is being addressed
- 23:14by the word "His servant," and why the
- 23:16Almighty said "Asra"(took by night),
- 23:19because many people do not pay
- 23:21attention to this word. "Asra," not "
- 23:24Asra"(made captive); why? Because Allah
- 23:26said in Surat Taha: "Has there reached
- 23:29you the story of Moses? When he saw a
- 23:32fire and said to his family, 'Stay here
- 23:35; indeed, I have perceived a fire;
- 23:37perhaps I can bring you a brand from it
- 23:39or find at the fire some guidance.'"
- 23:42Meaning, he was traveling by night. And
- 23:45the Almighty said: "And what.""Is that
- 23:47in your right hand, O Moses? He said, '
- 23:50It is my staff; I lean upon it, and I
- 23:52bring down leaves for my sheep, and I
- 23:55have therein other uses.' He said, '
- 23:57Throw it down, O Moses.' So he threw it
- 24:00down, and suddenly it was a snake,
- 24:02moving swiftly." This is a miracle; no
- 24:05magician could ever change this pen for
- 24:07you into something else. Without using
- 24:10tools. It is impossible to make you
- 24:14imagine that it changed. But in reality
- 24:18, it did not change. It was imagined to
- 24:21them by their magic that it was moving.
- 24:23Why? Because magic only beguiles the
- 24:26eyes. They tell you they will turn
- 24:28ordinary paper into money, and you
- 24:30think they actually changed it, but it
- 24:32is just a trick. Here, however, He
- 24:35actually changed that staff into a
- 24:37clear serpent, and that is why the
- 24:39magicians knew it was not a trick but
- 24:41was real. They knew that no magician,
- 24:44whoever they might be, could change
- 24:46things directly like that without using
- 24:49any machine, technology, or devices,
- 24:51like how we change iron into products
- 24:53we manufacture, but we have tools to
- 24:55change those things. That is why the
- 24:58Almighty said: "Throw it down, and
- 25:00suddenly it was a snake, moving swiftly
- 25:02. He said, 'Seize it and fear not; We
- 25:05will return it to its former state. And
- 25:07insert your hand into the opening of
- 25:10your garment; it will come out white,
- 25:12without disease'—another sign, in
- 25:14addition to the sign of the staff, a
- 25:17sign no other messenger had, a miracle
- 25:19indicating the existence of Allah and
- 25:22His greatness." That is why He said: "
- 25:25To show you of Our greater signs.""To
- 25:30show you of Our greater signs"—who is
- 25:34Moses? Peace be upon him. "Exalted is
- 25:38He who took His Servant by night from
- 25:41the Sacred Mosque to the Furthest
- 25:44Mosque whose surroundings We have
- 25:47blessed, to show him of Our signs." He
- 25:51saw great signs. What are they? When he
- 25:55moved to the region that contains the
- 25:57Sacred Mosque? Because Moses used to
- 26:00turn his face toward the Sacred Mosque.
- 26:02And this is written in the Torah. But
- 26:04when...he went to Ur-Shalim, Jerusalem.
- 26:07Then he departed from it. Allah told
- 26:09them: "Take your houses as a Qibla (
- 26:11direction of prayer)." He said that the
- 26:13Qibla changed for the Children of
- 26:14Israel. So their Qibla became the
- 26:16Al-Aqsa Mosque. So He said: "To show
- 26:19you of Our greater signs." But when He
- 26:21spoke about our own Messenger: "The
- 26:24heart did not lie about what it saw."
- 26:26As I said in the previous episode,
- 26:28Allah spoke about a vision. Because the
- 26:30heart sees in a dream, not in a waking
- 26:32state. In the waking state, one thinks
- 26:34and reasons. But in a dream, one sees.
- 26:36The Almighty said, when He spoke in
- 26:38Surah An-Najm, as explained in the
- 26:40previous episode: "At the Lote Tree of
- 26:42the Utmost Boundary, near it is the
- 26:43Garden of Abode. When the Lote Tree was
- 26:45covered by what covered it, his sight
- 26:47did not swerve, nor did it transgress;
- 26:49he saw some of the greatest signs of
- 26:51his Lord." Where did he see these signs
- 26:54? In a dream, Paradise, Hell, and what
- 26:57is to come—it relates to the future,
- 27:00not the present. But Moses saw the
- 27:03greatest sign. And to whom did he show
- 27:05this greatest sign? To Pharaoh. As the
- 27:08Almighty said in Surah An-Nazi'at: "Has
- 27:10the story of Moses reached you?""When
- 27:13he called his Lord in the sacred valley
- 27:15of Tuwa.""Go to Pharaoh, for he has
- 27:17transgressed.""And say, 'Would you
- 27:19purify yourself, and let me guide you
- 27:21to your Lord so you would fear Him?'"
- 27:23So he showed him the greatest sign: the
- 27:25staff. Because it was by means of the
- 27:27staff, which turned into a serpent,
- 27:29that the magicians believed. That is
- 27:31why God said: "Then he showed him the
- 27:33greatest sign, but he denied.""And
- 27:35disobeyed; then he turned his back,
- 27:37striving. He gathered and proclaimed,
- 27:40saying, 'I am your lord, the most high.
- 27:42'" All this has nothing to do with our
- 27:45Messenger. But I will clarify what is
- 27:48the most important word: "Asra"(He took
- 27:50by night). Why was this context used,
- 27:53always with the parables that God has
- 27:55set forth? God Almighty said in Surah
- 27:58Taha: "And We inspired Moses: 'Take My
- 28:01servants by night,'" and He did not say
- 28:04"walk"(sir) with them, but "take by
- 28:06night"(asri). Why? Because he is the
- 28:09one who would intend to travel with his
- 28:11servants. Traveling is on the path—we
- 28:15call it walking—whether you travel
- 28:17riding an animal, but always on the
- 28:19surface of the earth, not above the
- 28:21surface of the earth, and not by a
- 28:23horse with wings; these things do not
- 28:26travel on the surface of the earth. A
- 28:30beast, anything—always on the surface
- 28:32of the earth. And this is what Moses,
- 28:34peace be upon him, did with the
- 28:36Children of Israel. That is why God
- 28:39said to him: "asri"(take by night). It
- 28:41is an imperative verb, as we say "go to
- 28:44so-and-so.""Asri," but He said "take My
- 28:47servants by night." Meaning, Moses is
- 28:50the one who commanded the Children of
- 28:51Israel to travel with him. That is why
- 28:56God said: "Exalted is He who took His
- 28:59servant by night." The one traveling on
- 29:03the path is Moses, peace be upon him.
- 29:07Moses, peace be upon him, when he left
- 29:10that person to whom he married his
- 29:12daughter. After the period of time that
- 29:18the two had agreed upon for Moses to
- 29:21serve him ended. That period ended, and
- 29:24he traveled with his family by night.
- 29:26But who inspired him? The one who
- 29:30inspired him to travel with his family
- 29:33by night was God Almighty. That is why
- 29:36He said: "Exalted is He who took by
- 29:38night." God is the One who intended for
- 29:42Moses, peace be upon him, to travel by
- 29:44night. Why? To show him His signs. So
- 29:49he would know that he had become a
- 29:50Messenger. And to show him these signs.
- 29:53What are they? The staff that becomes a
- 29:55living thing? It moves and turns into a
- 29:58serpent. And the hand that emerges
- 30:02white. And these two signs are what he
- 30:05took to Pharaoh. Perhaps he might
- 30:07believe that he is truly a Messenger
- 30:10from God. And he must release the
- 30:12Children of Israel so they could
- 30:14accompany Moses, peace be upon him.
- 30:17That is why God said: "And We inspired
- 30:20Moses.""Take My servants by night.""
- 30:22Then strike for them a dry path through
- 30:24the sea." Always on the surface of the
- 30:26earth, dry. "You will not fear being
- 30:28overtaken, nor be afraid." And that is
- 30:30why, as I said, He said. The Almighty
- 30:33in Surah Al-Isra: "Exalted is He who
- 30:35took His servant by night," Moses,
- 30:37peace be upon him, from the Sacred
- 30:39Mosque to the Furthest Mosque—meaning
- 30:41the furthest mosque at that time. And
- 30:44this mosque, when they used to pray in
- 30:47it, they would turn toward the Sacred
- 30:49Mosque. That is why He told him: Go to
- 30:52that mosque which is in Jerusalem.
- 30:54Where the Children of Israel lived. And
- 30:56they had a mosque. They would establish
- 30:58prayer there, and turn their faces
- 31:00toward the Sacred Mosque. As I said,
- 31:02when Moses went to that place then.
- 31:05They left that place so that Moses
- 31:07could receive the revelation. God told
- 31:10them to turn your faces toward your
- 31:11houses. Those houses where they used to
- 31:14establish prayer. Because there was not
- 31:16just one mosque, but several mosques.
- 31:19The Children of Israel used to
- 31:21establish prayer, all turning their
- 31:23faces toward the Sacred Mosque. But as
- 31:26I said, when Moses left, they turned
- 31:29their faces toward the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
- 31:31So their Qibla changed until our
- 31:33Messenger came to us. Then they turned
- 31:36back to the Qibla that was there the
- 31:38first time. And he knew this. That is
- 31:42why the Almighty said: Those who were
- 31:44given the Book know it is the truth
- 31:46from their Lord. And this is it,
- 31:49servants of God, when He said. "Exalted
- 31:52is He who took His servant by night"—
- 31:54the Almighty is talking about Moses. I
- 31:56must point out some things: this Surah,
- 31:59at first, was not called Surah Al-Isra.
- 32:01No, servants of God, it was called
- 32:03Surah Bani Israel, not Surah Al-Isra.
- 32:07But later, people came who disliked
- 32:09that this Surah be named after the
- 32:11Children of Israel, so they changed its
- 32:13name to Surah Al-Isra, even though in
- 32:15the Quran we have a Surah named after
- 32:17the disbelievers (Al-Kafirun) even
- 32:19though they are disbelievers, and a
- 32:21Surah named after the hypocrites (
- 32:23Al-Munafiqun) even though they are
- 32:25hypocrites, and a Surah named "The Cow"
- 32:28(Al-Baqarah) and a Surah named "The Ant
- 32:30"(An-Naml), but they did not change the
- 32:32names of these Surahs, except the Surah
- 32:36that was called Bani Israel. And they
- 32:38changed it to Surah Al-Isra. When? When
- 32:41they created these narrations. They
- 32:42exaggerated regarding the Messenger,
- 32:44claiming this Surah talks about our
- 32:46Messenger. And that he was taken by
- 32:47night, meaning by way of the beast,
- 32:49Al-Buraq, to the mosque. He established
- 32:51prayer with all the messengers and
- 32:52prophets. Servants of God, "You have
- 32:54caused us to die twice and given us
- 32:56life twice." It is impossible for a
- 32:58person who died in this worldly life to
- 33:00return to life in this worldly life.
- 33:02Otherwise, we would have to say: "Our
- 33:04Lord, You have caused us to die three
- 33:05times and given us life three times."
- 33:06This is not possible, my lady and my
- 33:08sir. So why do we believe that the
- 33:11Messenger went and established prayer
- 33:12with all the messengers, that God
- 33:14brought them back to life to establish
- 33:15prayer? I said if anyone were to
- 33:19establish prayer with all the
- 33:20messengers, it would be Abraham, peace
- 33:23be upon him. Because he is the one whom
- 33:25God made an Imam for the people. And he
- 33:26was the first to establish prayer. That
- 33:29is why we all follow the creed of
- 33:31Abraham, not the creed of Muhammad. And
- 33:34our Messenger also follows the creed of
- 33:36Abraham. "Then We revealed to you:
- 33:39follow the creed of Abraham," meaning
- 33:41the method of establishing prayer and
- 33:43how to perform the rituals of Hajj. So
- 33:46people must know. I do not want to tell
- 33:49people: you must disbelieve or not
- 33:51believe. No, you only need to pay
- 33:53attention to what is being said.
- 33:56Because tomorrow everyone will stand
- 33:59before their Lord alone. And everyone
- 34:02will come to Him on the Day of
- 34:03Resurrection alone. And what the
- 34:05narrations have brought will not
- 34:07benefit you. Nor what the Hadiths have
- 34:09brought. Nor what the masses have said.
- 34:12Nor what our forefathers have said.
- 34:13Rather, this can mislead many people.
- 34:16And lead them to the punishment. That
- 34:19is why the Almighty said: "If we had
- 34:21been listening or reasoning through the
- 34:23Quran, we would not be among the
- 34:25companions of the Blaze." The Almighty
- 34:29said: "When those who were followed
- 34:31disown those who followed them, and
- 34:34they see the torment, then all their
- 34:36relations will be cut off." Imagine,
- 34:40sir, that you are driving your car. You
- 34:42have a judge with you, and there is a
- 34:43red light. The judge tells you that you
- 34:46can go through the red light. And you
- 34:49say, "I have the judge with me; he will
- 34:50protect me." And when you went through
- 34:53the red light, you hit someone and
- 34:55killed him. Will the judge defend you?
- 35:00No, by God, he will disown you. He will
- 35:03tell you, "You should not have followed
- 35:05what I said." This is what will happen
- 35:08tomorrow on the Day of Resurrection.
- 35:10Those who were followed will disown
- 35:13those who followed them when they see
- 35:15the torment and all ties are severed.
- 35:18By God, the Prophet, the Companions,
- 35:20the predecessors, and the imams will
- 35:23disown us. And all those who came after
- 35:27them will disown us. When they stand
- 35:30before God, they will say, "We only
- 35:32said what we knew.""And we did not
- 35:34force anyone to follow us.""We have
- 35:38minds, and they have minds." God
- 35:41honored the children of Adam and
- 35:43granted every human being their own
- 35:44mind. Because each will be held
- 35:46accountable for their own understanding
- 35:47. It is lighter before God for you to
- 35:50ponder the Quran and make a mistake.
- 35:52Because the fundamental thing is to
- 35:54ponder the Quran. If you make a mistake
- 35:56, God will overlook that mistake. But
- 35:59what is graver before God is to listen
- 36:02to the words of people. And not verify
- 36:05those words against the Quran. This is
- 36:09what God will not forgive. That is why
- 36:11many people will never seek forgiveness
- 36:13from their Lord. Why? Because they
- 36:16think they are doing well. Why? Because
- 36:19they follow the words of sheikhs, imams
- 36:22, and hadiths. And they think that is
- 36:25what will get them into Paradise. That
- 36:27is why we have reached a point where we
- 36:29say the Sunnah is the believer and the
- 36:31Quran is the disbeliever. Imagine how
- 36:34things have turned upside down. The one
- 36:36who follows hadiths, Bukhari, and
- 36:38Muslim has become the believer. And the
- 36:41one who follows the Quran is a
- 36:43disbeliever. And always, when they use
- 36:46the term "Quranists," they say it means
- 36:48denying the Sunnah. It always implies
- 36:51that the Quran denies the Sunnah. So if
- 36:54the Quran denies the Sunnah, then we
- 36:56welcome this disbelief. And we take
- 37:00pride in this disbelief. Because
- 37:02tomorrow, before God, we will be held
- 37:04accountable for this Quran. These are
- 37:06the verses of God, which We recite to
- 37:08you in truth. Then in what statement
- 37:11after God and His verses will they
- 37:13believe? We may fall into errors in our
- 37:16pondering of the Quran. But this is not
- 37:19like following the whims of people.
- 37:23Following the words of people while
- 37:25knowing nothing about the Quran. And
- 37:28God is the All-Knowing, the Wise, the
- 37:29Acquainted. Peace be upon you, and the
- 37:32mercy of God and His blessings.
