- 0:00A garage door company hired us for
- 0:02$18,000.
- 0:03They made 1.7 million back in 11 months.
- 0:07Here's the exact SEO strategy we used.
- 0:11This is a breakdown from Mr. Sarvesh
- 0:14Shrivastava, a friend of the podcast.
- 0:16He's going to come on in a few days to
- 0:18talk about this and I'm going to share
- 0:19his written breakdown first and then
- 0:21he's going to be back on in a few days.
- 0:23He's already been on twice and he's
- 0:25become a good friend and he's a great
- 0:26guy and I'm excited to share this with
- 0:29you. So, number one for what he did to
- 0:32turn, he said $18,000, I suppose it was
- 0:35monthly or maybe not, made 1.7 million
- 0:39back in 11 months. Number one, Google
- 0:41Business Profile first, website comes
- 0:44later. Most business owners think their
- 0:46website is everything. Wrong. We fixed
- 0:48their Google Business Profile first,
- 0:50uploaded real photos, not those cheesy
- 0:53stock images with smiling actors,
- 0:56collected at least 10 legit reviews as
- 0:58fast as possible, fixed hours, services,
- 1:02categories, description, everything
- 1:04properly. And I love that. I'm a huge
- 1:07fan of real photos, wherever it is. It
- 1:10could be on your Google Business
- 1:11Profile, it could be on your site. Also,
- 1:14if you want to learn more about how to
- 1:16properly optimize your Google Business
- 1:18Profile, Darren Shaw, who has one of the
- 1:21top local SEO software companies, was on
- 1:23this podcast and he gave this crazy
- 1:25breakdown on it. I'm always sharing this
- 1:27with people who are asking me about
- 1:29Google Business Profile and this episode
- 1:31is called Local SEO Masterclass, Darren
- 1:35Shaw on ranking factors, reviews, and
- 1:37Google Business Hacks, episode 881 of
- 1:40this show for people want to go deeper
- 1:42into Google Business Profile. Number two
- 1:44from Mr. Sarvesh Shrivastava. Oh my
- 1:48gosh, he he puts up these awesome
- 1:49breakdowns. Created pages that actually
- 1:52pulled in cash. Here we go. We killed
- 1:55their old generic services pages.
- 1:57Instead, we built super specific
- 2:01and get ready because this is what a lot
- 2:03of people do wrong. They put up very
- 2:05generic pages that don't have real call
- 2:08to actions or that don't emphasize the
- 2:10benefits. Sarvesh ain't doing that. He
- 2:12goes, "Our money pages like affordable
- 2:15garage door repair in Houston, same day
- 2:18service, no hidden fees." People typing
- 2:21these are desperate for a help now.
- 2:24These pages match exactly what people
- 2:26search when they're ready to swipe their
- 2:28card and get someone over ASAP. And you
- 2:31know what is cool? A page like this can
- 2:33rank for lots of keywords, not just
- 2:35affordable garage door repair in Houston
- 2:37same day service no hidden fees. It can
- 2:39rank for lots of keywords around garage
- 2:42door repair Houston. That's great.
- 2:44Number three, wrote local blog content.
- 2:47Yes, it works for even small businesses.
- 2:50Most business owners think blogs are
- 2:52just for big brands. Nope, we wrote
- 2:54stuff like how to protect your garage
- 2:57door before Houston storms destroy it.
- 2:59This type of content builds massive
- 3:01trust, shows you're a real expert, and
- 3:04pushes you up in Google at the same
- 3:06time. Locals loved it and it got shared
- 3:09too. And something else that's cool
- 3:10about content like how to protect your
- 3:12garage door before Houston storms
- 3:14destroy it is lots of local news
- 3:17publishers like to cover stuff like
- 3:19this. And so, you can write it for them
- 3:22and that's a great guest blog post. You
- 3:24can write it for them or you can give a
- 3:26quote and then they'll link to your
- 3:28site. Storm season is coming and who
- 3:31who's one of the people that they're
- 3:32going to quote? It's going to be the
- 3:34garage door expert saying like this is a
- 3:35huge problem. Here's what you need to
- 3:38know. Fixed their internal links. The
- 3:40most ignored SEO move ever. Their site
- 3:43had, this is number four, their site had
- 3:46zero links between pages. Basically a
- 3:48maze with no doors. We connected all
- 3:51service pages, blogs, and the home page
- 3:54in a smart logical way. This called
- 3:56information architecture for people who
- 3:58don't know. It's actually one of my
- 3:59favorite parts of SEO is figuring out
- 4:01the most straightforward way to organize
- 4:04a site but also a way that properly
- 4:06channels SEO link juice. And Sarvesh
- 4:08said, "Google suddenly understood the
- 4:10whole site better and pages that were
- 4:13dead started climbing fast. Also helped
- 4:16real visitors find stuff easily." And
- 4:18yeah, smart information architecture,
- 4:20very good for users. You can channel SEO
- 4:23link juice and so pages that are dead
- 4:25can start actually performing a lot
- 4:27better because now they're getting
- 4:29proper amount of link juice. You don't
- 4:31have, as he says, a maze with no door.
- 4:34You avoid that. Connect all service
- 4:36pages, blogs, and home page in a smart
- 4:38logical way. I just like, personally, I
- 4:40like a services hub page. Could be
- 4:43something as as simple and
- 4:44straightforward as forward/services and
- 4:47that is linked to in your footer and
- 4:48then you list all your services there.
- 4:50And you have your services organized
- 4:52within categories by H2s. I'm a fan of
- 4:55that. Or you could be offering tons of
- 4:57different types of services. You could
- 4:59have one that is same day services. You
- 5:01could have you could have even have one
- 5:03that is scheduled services. And this way
- 5:05you don't have to put same day or
- 5:07scheduled in every slug if you do it
- 5:09like that. But yeah, information
- 5:11architecture, super important, very
- 5:13awesome. All right, this next one,
- 5:15number five, people listening will be
- 5:17like, "What? This is going to contradict
- 5:19what you always say on this show." But
- 5:21it doesn't really when done well. So,
- 5:23number five, Sarvesh focused on real
- 5:26solid backlinks, not cheap directory
- 5:28junk. We didn't touch spammy directory
- 5:31submissions or fake press releases.
- 5:33Instead, we got guest posts on real
- 5:36legit local blogs and industry sites.
- 5:38That's what I was saying earlier. Built
- 5:39relationships with other local
- 5:41businesses for link swaps and mentions.
- 5:43That is key. If you're a local plumber,
- 5:45you get a backlink from the footer of a
- 5:47local electrician as a partner that the
- 5:49local electrician works with. And maybe
- 5:52you share a link to that electrician
- 5:55because you're working with the
- 5:56electrician. And actually, David Kwain
- 5:58and I, we were talking about that on
- 5:59yesterday's episode. David was sharing
- 6:01his favorite link building methods and
- 6:03that is one of them. That is episode
- 6:051006, SaaS SEO in 2026, link building
- 6:09topical authority, and the geo hype.
- 6:11Added strategic links on authority
- 6:13websites that actually move rankings.
- 6:15This is going back to Sarvesh. These
- 6:17links separated them from every other
- 6:19local business stuck on page three
- 6:22forever. Personally, I, very much like
- 6:25Sarvesh, am not a fan of spammy
- 6:28directory submissions, but there are
- 6:29plenty of good directories that one can
- 6:32use. I can ask Sarvesh about this cuz
- 6:34again, he will be on. Let me check my
- 6:35calendar. What day is it that he's
- 6:37coming on? He's coming on on Wednesday
- 6:38and that episode will be out on
- 6:40Thursday. So, I'll ask him about He's
- 6:42been on before when he came on the first
- 6:44time, he did share that he likes guest
- 6:46blogs a lot. But as David Kwain and I
- 6:49were talking about, if you have a guest
- 6:50blog on one a site that doesn't have
- 6:52guest blogs about a variety of different
- 6:55topics or doesn't have topical
- 6:56authority. If you have a if you have a
- 6:58guest blog on that, that's not really
- 6:59going to help you. Google knows that
- 7:00this site is like it's just selling
- 7:02guest posts. If you have a guest blog on
- 7:05a site that isn't filled with tons of
- 7:07other guest blogs and your guest blog is
- 7:10indexed and ranking, that is going to be
- 7:12valuable. If people are clicking on the
- 7:14links in it and coming to your site,
- 7:16that's going to be even more valuable.
- 7:18So, that is the nuance there. Number
- 7:20six, we stopped trying to be famous and
- 7:23focused on local only. They wanted to
- 7:26rank for best garage door or top garage
- 7:29doors nationwide. Pointless. We ditched
- 7:32all that noise and doubled down on
- 7:34keywords like garage door repair Austin.
- 7:37These are the searches that actually
- 7:39make the phone ring and bring in paying
- 7:41customers ready to book today, not just
- 7:44look around. And Sarvesh concludes,
- 7:46"They were a small company struggling to
- 7:49get calls, living off word of mouth and
- 7:51random referrals. The owner was almost
- 7:54ready to shut it all down. Now, they're
- 7:57booked out weeks in advance and turning
- 7:59away to low ticket jobs, all thanks to
- 8:02local SEO done right." Thank you to Mr.
- 8:05Sarvesh get a Sarvesh Shrivastava for
- 8:08sharing this and thank you all of you
- 8:10for watching or listening to this
- 8:13episode. If you want to get my SEO
- 8:15playbook, you can get that at
- 8:16compactkeywords.com.
- 8:18I'm a huge fan of finding keywords that
- 8:20have tremendously high purchase intent
- 8:22like Sarvesh was talking about. Finding
- 8:24those keywords, targeting them exactly,
- 8:26having straightforward information
- 8:28architecture so your site is structured
- 8:30for conversion based SEO landing pages
- 8:32that target these keywords. These are
- 8:34conversion based pages that are meant to
- 8:36convert people, that are meant to turn
- 8:39high intense searchers into customers or
- 8:42users or or warm leads calling you up.
- 8:44My methods of getting links, how I do a
- 8:47site audit, and so much more covers
- 8:49local SEO, but covers a lot of other
- 8:51types of SEO as well. And that is at
- 8:53compactkeywords.com. I hope you will
- 8:55check it out. It is getting people
- 8:57amazing reviews. Actually, the fourth
- 9:00review on the landing page by Jacob Dara
- 9:03is about using the method for HVAC
- 9:06keywords. And a lot of people know that
- 9:08HVAC keywords can be pretty competitive.
- 9:10And Jacob was ranking, he said, "ranking
- 9:13number one on Google for 25 keywords and
- 9:16hundreds on Bing with a new site after
- 9:18starting compact keywords only two
- 9:20months ago. Everyone needs to take this.
- 9:23You will see results you can't even
- 9:25comprehend." That is from Jacob Dara.
- 9:27So, this episode 1007
- 9:30of the Edward show. This is my daily
- 9:32digital marketing podcast. I make this
- 9:34thing every day. I have not missed a
- 9:36single day since starting 1007
- 9:39days ago. If you watch this one on
- 9:41YouTube, thank you so much for watching.
- 9:43If you listened on Spotify or Apple
- 9:45podcasts, thanks again for listening.
- 9:47And I will talk to you again tomorrow.
- 9:49Bye now.
