- 0:00today we're talking about psychology
- 0:01this is the biggest secret weapon used
- 0:04by all of your favorite creators they
- 0:06are masters of this if you want your
- 0:07videos to perform better all you have to
- 0:09study is human psychology but it's not
- 0:11just psychology principles you can't
- 0:14learn this content stuff in a book
- 0:16social media psychology is how to
- 0:17engineer your storytelling to get a
- 0:20viewer to think and act how you want and
- 0:22if you can do this on command you win
- 0:25now I have over a million followers done
- 0:26a billion views and this one thing has
- 0:29been the biggest cheat code to my
- 0:31success it is the foundational building
- 0:33block that powers everything and I'm
- 0:34just going to give it to you this is my
- 0:36full content psychology Playbook 18
- 0:39different tricks that you can use to get
- 0:41people addicted to your videos without
- 0:43them knowing it all right so I boil down
- 0:45every video into six steps think of
- 0:47these like Gates or checkpoints and I
- 0:50need to get the viewer through these six
- 0:52checkpoints before they bounce or the
- 0:54video flops now for each one I use a
- 0:56combination of different psychology
- 0:58hacks to pull them through and I'm going
- 1:00to break down each one of those hacks
- 1:01and how you can use them in your videos
- 1:03okay so the first major checkpoint in
- 1:04any video is paino acceptance before you
- 1:08do anything else you have to get the
- 1:09viewer to feel whatever pain point it is
- 1:12you're solving for in the video usually
- 1:14the core pain stems from not having
- 1:16enough money time health or access those
- 1:19are the four horsemen of pain and
- 1:21there's many ways to frame a pain but at
- 1:23a base level before you do anything else
- 1:25in the video the viewer has to feel a
- 1:27pain point now I can already hear the
- 1:29skep iics in the nose beds what about
- 1:31entertainment style content like Mr
- 1:33Beast or Minecraft videos there's no
- 1:35pain point in those and you're 100%
- 1:37right those are pure entertainment plays
- 1:39and those can work but my take is that
- 1:41if you're playing for pure entertainment
- 1:43the competition is much much steeper
- 1:46because you're competing against family
- 1:47time Hollywood grade movies Mr Beast
- 1:50himself the Instagram feed reading in
- 1:53bed if you're not an absolute Pro you're
- 1:55going to lose the entertainment game but
- 1:57if you're solving a specific paino all
- 2:00of a sudden you fit into a different
- 2:01category in the viewer's brain and if
- 2:03your goal is to make money online Value
- 2:05First paino driven content is the best
- 2:08way to do it okay so checkpoint one is
- 2:10making them accept the pain now what are
- 2:12the exact psychological hacks to get
- 2:14them to do this I have four methods the
- 2:16first one is by going one standard
- 2:18deviation away from the pain to trick
- 2:21them into accepting it so let me explain
- 2:23what that means the key with content is
- 2:24getting a viewer to opt into accepting
- 2:27they have a paino without triggering
- 2:29their be s detector it's like robbing a
- 2:31bank if you trip the red wire the alarms
- 2:34will go off and they're going to call
- 2:35the police you remember when I said all
- 2:36core pain stem from not having time
- 2:38money health or access well the problem
- 2:40is if you come out directly and say
- 2:42something like if you want to make more
- 2:44money do this it often triggers their BS
- 2:46detector and they'll dismiss you and
- 2:48this happens because most viewers are
- 2:50smart and they think to themselves Well
- 2:52it can't be that easy right this must be
- 2:54nonsense and so then they start second
- 2:55guessing what you're saying and this is
- 2:56all happening subconsciously because of
- 2:58their psychology once the BS detector is
- 3:01tripped in their mind you've lost them
- 3:03because now they don't trust you so this
- 3:05is where the one standard deviation away
- 3:07hack comes in sometimes it could be
- 3:08easier to get someone to opt into a pain
- 3:10by going one standard deviation away
- 3:12from what they actually want and having
- 3:14them make the leap themselves for
- 3:16example let's take the pain of trying to
- 3:18grow on social media that's what I talk
- 3:20about most people want to grow on social
- 3:21media because they think it'll help them
- 3:23make more money they don't actually want
- 3:24to spend 40 hours a week making videos
- 3:26they want the money but the beauty is
- 3:28that most people assume that if they
- 3:30grow on social media they will make
- 3:32money they treat them as the same so
- 3:34targeting the pain that they aren't
- 3:35growing their social channels fast
- 3:37enough is a way to disarm them on the
- 3:39money pain without triggering their BS
- 3:42detector they will make the leap that
- 3:44you helping them with social media will
- 3:45help them make more money which is what
- 3:47they really want and to prove this is
- 3:48the case if you look at all of my videos
- 3:50on my YouTube channel anytime I talk
- 3:52specifically about making more money
- 3:54those videos don't perform very well but
- 3:56anytime I talk about specifics of making
- 3:58better videos or new social trends for
- 4:00growing faster people associate that
- 4:02with making more money and those videos
- 4:03crush and this isn't an accident this is
- 4:06psychology at work so the specific
- 4:08tactic here is understanding which of
- 4:10the four horsemen base pains you're
- 4:12targeting and then figuring out how to
- 4:13go one standard deviation away to solve
- 4:16a tactical problem all right the second
- 4:17hack for trying to get a viewer to
- 4:19accept the paino is what I call twisting
- 4:21the knife here your goal is to remind
- 4:23the viewer of their paino and the
- 4:26frustration that they've been
- 4:27experiencing because they haven't solved
- 4:29it twist the knife the best way to do
- 4:31this tactically no surprise is to talk
- 4:33about the pain point and that
- 4:34frustration as bluntly and directly as
- 4:37possible so for example I might say
- 4:38something like if you've been struggling
- 4:39with storytelling I've been there I know
- 4:41how hard it is this reminds them of the
- 4:43struggle and deepens the Gap it seems
- 4:45obvious but this is adding Tinder to the
- 4:48burning fire of them wanting to solve
- 4:50the problem also fomo and jealousy are
- 4:52other great ways to remind them of this
- 4:55frustration and deepen the pain all
- 4:57right the third psychology hack for
- 4:58getting a viewer to accept the pain
- 5:00point is what I call an audience of one
- 5:02and this is very simple speak to them
- 5:05directly don't use the word I use the
- 5:07word you make it about them make them
- 5:10the main character make them think about
- 5:12themselves and their unique situation I
- 5:14use the word you more than any other
- 5:16word in my videos it's like a teacher
- 5:18yelling hey you to a group of
- 5:20kindergarteners right it stuns them
- 5:21immediately and makes them lock back in
- 5:23I also try in my delivery to make it
- 5:25seem like I'm talking directly to you
- 5:27and no one else and this comes mostly
- 5:29from tone and Rhythm which you have to
- 5:31just adjust over time the best way to do
- 5:32this is observe two people having a
- 5:34conversation and then try to mimic that
- 5:36tone and Rhythm nobody wants a preacher
- 5:38they want a friend again these things
- 5:40seem obvious and I'm going to show you
- 5:41an example in a second about why they're
- 5:43so powerful but I'm telling you stacking
- 5:45these on top of each other creates this
- 5:47deep pain Point all right the fourth and
- 5:49last hack for getting a user to accept
- 5:51the paino is to create the paino
- 5:54solution Gap you need them to realize
- 5:56that there is both a paino to be solved
- 5:58and a gap between between where they are
- 6:00today and where they want to be you can
- 6:01do this tactically by literally moving
- 6:03your hands from one side to the other or
- 6:05you could use Graphics or you could
- 6:06continue to Pepper examples showing the
- 6:08distance between where they are and
- 6:10where they want to be as you can tell
- 6:11and I've heard this in the comments I
- 6:12find the hands thing to be super helpful
- 6:14with this now you don't have to do all
- 6:16four of those hacks all together every
- 6:18single video but by doing these four
- 6:20things you make them aware of the right
- 6:22pain frame it so it applies to them
- 6:25specifically and build an urgency for
- 6:27them to figure out how to close the gap
- 6:29if you do this you have them Hook Line
- 6:30and Sinker through that first checkpoint
- 6:32and they are super eager to find out
- 6:34what comes next now I'm going to show
- 6:35you an example the first three
- 6:36checkpoints all happen in the hook of
- 6:38the video in the first 10 to 30 seconds
- 6:40so I'm really breaking it down but this
- 6:42happens super super quickly getting them
- 6:44through those first three checkpoints
- 6:45let's review the hook that I used in
- 6:47this video just a couple minutes ago and
- 6:49I'm going to show you exactly how I do
- 6:51this in practice by the way the reason
- 6:52you're still watching is because I use
- 6:54this exact psychology hack to hook you
- 6:56so if you're wondering if it works it
- 6:58works today we're talking about about
- 6:59psychology this is the biggest secret
- 7:02weapon used by all of your favorite
- 7:04creators they are masters of this if you
- 7:06want your videos to perform better all
- 7:08you have to study is human psychology
- 7:10but it's not just psychology principles
- 7:12you can't learn this content stuff in a
- 7:14book social media psychology is how to
- 7:16engineer your storytelling to get a
- 7:19viewer to think and act how you want and
- 7:21if you can do this on command you win
- 7:25all right so here's the transcript of
- 7:26the first half of the hook for this
- 7:28video and I'm going to color code each
- 7:30of the four psychology hacks that deal
- 7:31with this first paino checkpoint now the
- 7:33first line is just me setting context
- 7:35that it's about psychology I kind of had
- 7:36to do that then immediately I start
- 7:38twisting the knife using jealousy I say
- 7:41this is the biggest secret weapon used
- 7:43by all your favorite creators now I
- 7:44could have started by explicitly stating
- 7:46the pain itself like you're trying to
- 7:47grow on social media through video but
- 7:49that is implied by me using Creator so
- 7:51at this point subconsciously you feel
- 7:52this frustration cuz you want to grow
- 7:54like your favorite creators but you
- 7:55haven't figured it out I'm reminding you
- 7:57of that frustration subconsciously that
- 7:58deepens the paino Gap if you want your
- 8:01videos to perform better so I'm saying
- 8:03it directly right here again I know
- 8:05every single person watching this wants
- 8:06to make money that's why they're trying
- 8:08to grow on social media so this is the
- 8:09one standard deviation away from the
- 8:11core Four Horseman pain now that rolls
- 8:13directly into the paino solution Gap if
- 8:16you want better videos paino you need to
- 8:18understand psychology solution and this
- 8:20is all happening in real time but like 7
- 8:22seconds in I've already kind of got you
- 8:24deeply reminded of the pain jealous
- 8:26about the other creators and interested
- 8:28in how to solve it happens fast now
- 8:30because psychology as a concept is kind
- 8:32of high level and not clear I decided to
- 8:34use another line to reiterate exactly
- 8:37what I'm talking about and how you can
- 8:39apply it to making better videos so I
- 8:41say psychology is how you engineer
- 8:42people to do and act how you want and if
- 8:44you do this you can win again paino
- 8:46solution Gap if you do this you can win
- 8:49now the last thing to highlight is how
- 8:50many times I use the word you in the
- 8:52first half of this hook nine times and I
- 8:56use the word I zero this is also
- 8:58intentional this video video is not
- 8:59about me it's about you it's about
- 9:01helping you solve the pain I'm not
- 9:03talking about me yet now I spent so much
- 9:05time on checkpoint one in this video so
- 9:07far because again if you can't get the
- 9:09viewer to accept that there's a pain
- 9:11point you lose do not pass go there is
- 9:13no reason to continue you have to nail
- 9:15this first now before I go on to the
- 9:17next checkpoints why does this work so
- 9:19well it works so well because human
- 9:21brains are problem-solving machines if
- 9:23you give a brain a problem it is
- 9:25designed to figure out how to solve it
- 9:27by starting with the problem in the
- 9:29video script we are hacking the viewers
- 9:31neurochemistry to get them to pay
- 9:33attention to it and this first step is
- 9:35critical because it aligns their
- 9:36subconscious on the problem so that you
- 9:39can tell them the rest of the story
- 9:40before watching the video they may not
- 9:42have been problem aware or if they knew
- 9:44the problem they weren't consciously
- 9:45focusing so you need to angle their
- 9:47attention on the problem and then
- 9:48continue okay so this is checkpoint one
- 9:50at this point the viewer is now deeply
- 9:52problem aware and interested in figuring
- 9:54out how to solve it all right before I
- 9:56move on and there is some gold coming up
- 9:58I just got to say guys nobody talks
- 10:00about content the way I do I've looked
- 10:02so far for people to make videos like
- 10:04this and there just aren't any I take
- 10:06all of this and I put it for free in the
- 10:08description in my free community wavy
- 10:10world my free newsletter content. game I
- 10:12want you guys to win I think there's so
- 10:14much opportunity for everyone to win the
- 10:16way they want so I give it all for free
- 10:18make sure you check the description if
- 10:19you like the way I talk about this stuff
- 10:21all right let's keep going okay so as
- 10:22soon as the viewer is aware of the paino
- 10:24The Next Step checkpoint two you need to
- 10:26immediately Sprint to trust you you need
- 10:29them to trust you ASAP you essentially
- 10:31have between 10 and 30 seconds after
- 10:33they accept that a problem is real to
- 10:35pass their BS detector for them to trust
- 10:37that you're the type of person that
- 10:39could solve it if they sense that you
- 10:40don't know what you're talking about
- 10:41that you don't have proof that you've
- 10:43done this before or that you don't have
- 10:44the answer they're going to bounce and
- 10:46you lose them and this checkpoint 2 is
- 10:48another make or break moment in
- 10:50Psychology hacking do they trust you so
- 10:52what are the ways to get them to trust
- 10:54you this is the list in order from most
- 10:56effective to least effective the best in
- 10:58top of the list is proof that you have
- 11:00solved this problem for someone just
- 11:02like them this is why On Target case
- 11:04studies and testimonials are so critical
- 11:06it's why they're all over sales Pages if
- 11:08a viewer sees themselves in a success
- 11:10story that you have they immediately
- 11:12trust that you can do this for them if
- 11:13you don't have a testimonial of you
- 11:15doing this for others the next best case
- 11:17is proof that you've done it for
- 11:19yourself this proves that you can do it
- 11:21but they may not trust you as much as
- 11:22the testimonial if they don't see
- 11:24themselves in you the third highest
- 11:26trust Builder would be massive social
- 11:27followings on any account ideally the
- 11:30account you're on or a prei cosign from
- 11:33someone that they trust social
- 11:34followings basically prove that you are
- 11:36trusted and vetted by many at scale this
- 11:38helps decrease their fear that you don't
- 11:40know what you're talking about the
- 11:41fourth is evidence that you have been in
- 11:43their shoes and you are not in their
- 11:45shoes anymore this doesn't necessarily
- 11:47mean that you were the one that
- 11:48controlled the transformation but it
- 11:50does mean you have underwent the
- 11:51transformation so you at least know
- 11:53where they have been and where they want
- 11:54to go Fifth and this is second from the
- 11:56bottom is Common Ground anything you can
- 11:58do to build common ground between them
- 12:00and you just to build rapport and then
- 12:02last but I think still effective is the
- 12:04overall look and quality of your
- 12:06presentation of the information the
- 12:08studio the audio the confidence the
- 12:11posture the way the whole package is put
- 12:13together if you come off like you know
- 12:15what you're doing they will
- 12:16subconsciously start to trust you a
- 12:17little bit this alone isn't going to get
- 12:19you there but it's helpful icing on the
- 12:20top and this look thing this is why most
- 12:22sales people wear suits there's a reason
- 12:24why people do the things they do why
- 12:26they put testimonials on their sites why
- 12:28sales people wear suits is because
- 12:29they're trying to build trust now like I
- 12:31said you don't need the full one through
- 12:33six list to be true if you have any one
- 12:35of the top three you're probably good
- 12:37that's all you need but if you don't you
- 12:38may need multiple of the bottom three
- 12:41the bigger the ask the more trust
- 12:42required the deeper the pain the less
- 12:44trust required now I have three super
- 12:46quick psychological hacks that go one
- 12:48level deeper for how you actually
- 12:50facilitate this trust transfer so the
- 12:52first one around proof this is going to
- 12:54sound stupidly obvious but use
- 12:56screenshots of the testimonials bank
- 12:58statements a B tests before and afters
- 13:01social followings some visual proof is
- 13:03usually all you need to justify
- 13:05credibility that you've done what you
- 13:06say and it usually just takes one or two
- 13:08of these flashed rapidly and then the
- 13:10trust is built now if you have no proof
- 13:12you need to build common ground or show
- 13:13that you've been in their shoes before
- 13:15and even if you try this it may not
- 13:16stick but you have to try something the
- 13:18best way to build common ground is to
- 13:20hack their subconscious Psychology by
- 13:21saying things like I've been exactly
- 13:23where you are I've gone through this
- 13:25same thing I know what it feels like
- 13:26right saying those things helps build
- 13:28empathy empathy and Common Ground
- 13:30between them and you at this point if
- 13:32you don't have proof they are running
- 13:34the BS filter scan in their head
- 13:36absorbing everything trying to vet do I
- 13:38trust them do I trust them and I'll be
- 13:40honest the longer they're running that
- 13:41BS scan the less chance you have so you
- 13:43really want to establish trust as
- 13:45quickly as possible now in addition to
- 13:46building Common Ground an easy way to
- 13:48hack their trust like I said is having a
- 13:50professional setup this is a huge way to
- 13:53increase trust because when you're small
- 13:55and you have no credibility you have no
- 13:57proof but people see you have a legit
- 13:58set up immediately in their mind they're
- 14:00wondering wait how does this person not
- 14:02have any proof how does this person not
- 14:03have any wins he has such a great setup
- 14:05she has such a great setup they actually
- 14:06start to root for you in a weird way it
- 14:08inverts that's why having this
- 14:09professional look is so critical again
- 14:11if you have crazy proof you can record
- 14:13on a lowquality 720p camera in your
- 14:15underwear but if you don't have any
- 14:16proof this is a way to kind of elevate
- 14:19yourself without having done anything
- 14:20else again this trust checkpoint is
- 14:23critical if the viewer does not trust
- 14:25you they're not going to continue
- 14:26watching and you lose now one note on
- 14:28this at the beginning of your journey
- 14:29making content the reason why it takes
- 14:31so long to grow initially is because you
- 14:33don't have proof for credibility and so
- 14:35a low fraction of people trust you long
- 14:38enough to listen to your information
- 14:39that's why it takes so long to get those
- 14:41first thousand 2,000 5,000 subscribers
- 14:43but as you get some trust as you grow
- 14:46you start to build a following people
- 14:48then trust the following and the cosign
- 14:49is easier from people and then the
- 14:51compounding continues this is why it
- 14:53takes so long to grow at the beginning
- 14:54because you don't have trust I actually
- 14:56didn't start making YouTube videos until
- 14:58I had half a million followers on
- 15:00Instagram and Tik Tok and this was
- 15:02strategic I didn't want to risk spending
- 15:04$1,000 per YouTube video on editing and
- 15:07thumbnails until I knew that I had at
- 15:08least number three on that list of
- 15:10credibility now I actually do have
- 15:13almost a million followers I actually
- 15:14have driven over a billion views I
- 15:16actually have done the transformation
- 15:17myself and I know the answer so it's
- 15:19easy for you to trust me because I have
- 15:21these things so I now have proof
- 15:23figuring this out for myself I have big
- 15:25social followings I've been where you
- 15:27were because I used to not Plus I speak
- 15:29directly to entrepreneurs and builders
- 15:31that were like me so I have established
- 15:33Common Ground I also spent a ton of time
- 15:35and money building out this set so of
- 15:36the list of six 2 3 4 5 six I have all
- 15:39of them except the top one and now for
- 15:41the top one I have an Academy of
- 15:42entrepreneurs that I'm teaching the
- 15:43methods to I'm also getting cold DMS of
- 15:45people that are using my YouTube videos
- 15:47to get traction on their own so very
- 15:49soon I'll have the top one as well I
- 15:50will have the full six and this is
- 15:52really important to me because to me
- 15:54everything I do is optimize to build
- 15:56trust that's why I give the answers away
- 15:59I want everyone to trust me because I
- 16:00want to help people I genuinely do and
- 16:03so that goes back and forth and it helps
- 16:05build the trust immediately okay so
- 16:07that's checkpoint two so to reorient us
- 16:10the viewer has now accepted that a pain
- 16:12point is there they want to solve and
- 16:13they now trust you as a potential
- 16:16vehicle that could solve it so what
- 16:17comes next okay so checkpoint three is
- 16:20plan of attack as soon as they feel like
- 16:22the paino applies to them and they trust
- 16:24you as someone that may solve it
- 16:25immediately they want to know if you
- 16:27have a plan for doing doing so if you
- 16:29don't share a legit plan they will then
- 16:31churn so there are two things you need
- 16:33to do here in checkpoint 3 you need to
- 16:35share that you have a plan and explain
- 16:37why your plan is different than anything
- 16:39else they've seen before the first one
- 16:41is to create the point of difference
- 16:43between your plan and everyone else's
- 16:44now the easiest way to create the point
- 16:45of difference is to create contrast
- 16:47between what they've commonly seen and
- 16:49what you believe your contrarian take
- 16:51right so if they want to accomplish X
- 16:53and everyone says to do y and you say to
- 16:55do Z and you can convince them that Z is
- 16:57better they will hold to see what Z is
- 17:00the brain constantly is looking for
- 17:01easier better faster ways to solve their
- 17:03problem so if you create the problem and
- 17:05they trust you as a solve for it and you
- 17:07suggest something that may be different
- 17:08than what they've seen before they are
- 17:10going to be so curious that they will
- 17:11wait to find out what it is this is
- 17:13building that point of difference the
- 17:14contrast the Curiosity Loop whatever you
- 17:16call it that's how you do it now the
- 17:18other psychology hack here once you
- 17:19establish you have a point of difference
- 17:20immediately they want to know what is
- 17:22your plan now people like structure they
- 17:24like order they like alignment structure
- 17:26helps them remember things when they
- 17:28remember things they feel smart when
- 17:29they feel smart they associate feeling
- 17:31smart with you as the person that makes
- 17:32them feel smart and they trust you more
- 17:34so the best way to deliver the plan in
- 17:36structure is a list these are my five
- 17:38tips for doing X these are my 18
- 17:40psychology hacks present your thoughts
- 17:42in a structured list the brain is very
- 17:45good at understanding numbers and
- 17:46chunking things down into steps that's
- 17:48how we learn everything as a kid if you
- 17:50jump into your tactics in the video
- 17:52without teeing it up as a list without
- 17:53putting a structure around it people
- 17:55will feel lost and confused if they're
- 17:57lost and confused they turn so now for
- 17:59the last time I'm going to pull up my
- 18:01full Hook from this video one more time
- 18:02and I'm going to show you how I walk
- 18:04through creating the list and creating
- 18:06the point of difference okay now I
- 18:08actually embedded the point of
- 18:09difference a little bit earlier like two
- 18:11birds one stone I talked about this in
- 18:13the paino section but this is the point
- 18:14of difference so I said if you want to
- 18:16grow on social media you need Psychology
- 18:17but not psychology in a book you need to
- 18:20understand how to implement psychology
- 18:21to hack viewers brains to do and act how
- 18:24you want there's kind of two points of
- 18:25difference there there's growth you
- 18:27think it's this I say psych ology
- 18:29there's psychology you think it's book
- 18:30learning I say it's actually
- 18:32implementing in videos there's actually
- 18:33two subconsciously there and I did it
- 18:35earlier instead of later because I'm
- 18:37trying to use the fewest amount of
- 18:38sentences I figured it was two birds one
- 18:40stone now the ordered Lis thing comes
- 18:41later obviously this is me saying I have
- 18:4318 psychology hacks I have a full
- 18:45Playbook this is me presenting the plan
- 18:47to you and then right after I finish the
- 18:49hook I then reiterate that there are six
- 18:51checkpoints and those checkpoints or
- 18:53stage Gates I say it again because I
- 18:55don't want 18 to feel overwhelming so I
- 18:57say six again to break it down that's
- 18:59how important it is to explain things
- 19:00with structure and this all happened in
- 19:0324 seconds across 12 sentences if you
- 19:06can pull a viewer through these three
- 19:07checkpoints as fast as possible they
- 19:09will then be primed for the rest of the
- 19:10video okay so at this point the viewer
- 19:12has accepted there's a paino to solve
- 19:14they trust you and they know you have a
- 19:16plan to solve it so there's just one big
- 19:18question left and this is one that
- 19:19matters so so much do they want you to
- 19:23be the one to solve it for them do they
- 19:25like you this is likability the number
- 19:27one psychological hack or checkpoint or
- 19:29bucket to get people addicted to your
- 19:31content is to make them like you enough
- 19:33to want to watch it people disarm their
- 19:36inhibitions when they genuinely like a
- 19:38person I'm not just talking about
- 19:39physical attraction do they like the
- 19:41energy and brand that you bring forward
- 19:44this is critical and as someone who's
- 19:45typically monotone I have brought my
- 19:48energy up to create this likeability or
- 19:50at least I hope if you're watching this
- 19:52I hope you like the way I'm presenting
- 19:53this I have three psychological hacks to
- 19:56improve your likeability if you're a
- 19:57Creator now the first first one the
- 19:59biggest one is energy people act like
- 20:02mirrors if you give low energy they will
- 20:04receive that and start giving low energy
- 20:06back if you have high energy it's
- 20:08infectious the easiest way to get people
- 20:10to resonate with your content on a
- 20:11psychological level is to bring your
- 20:13energy of delivery up by like 50% and
- 20:16the easiest way to do this this is what
- 20:18I do is I record one line at a time it
- 20:21sounds crazy but when you talk in
- 20:23paragraphs you start to Trail off
- 20:25towards the end of your sentences
- 20:26reading six seven sentences off the top
- 20:28of your your head you just lose energy
- 20:30but if you record one line at a time yes
- 20:32you have to chop it after but you can
- 20:34deliver with high energy every single
- 20:36line This is a super super easy hack to
- 20:39up your energy now the second best way
- 20:42to increase likability is simplification
- 20:45again people like when they feel smart
- 20:47if you make them feel dumb they will not
- 20:49like you it's really that simple this
- 20:50means using simple words and short
- 20:52sentences so what I do is I repeat my
- 20:54points twice if I say something with
- 20:56technical jargon I'll repeat it a the
- 20:58second time saying it again with simpler
- 21:00terms and maybe using a metaphor that's
- 21:02a little bit easier to understand and I
- 21:04kind of just talk in this way normally I
- 21:05think that's one of the superpowers of
- 21:06my style but this simplification by
- 21:08force is actually a really helpful way
- 21:10to increase people's comprehension when
- 21:12they can hear you and understand you
- 21:14they like you more now the third best
- 21:15way to become more likable is to
- 21:17genuinely just be yourself and I know it
- 21:19sounds so basic but people can detect
- 21:22when you're playing a character I
- 21:23legitimately wear this black hoodie
- 21:25every single day this black hat every
- 21:27day I talk like this I'm a Content nerd
- 21:29I'm a business nerd you cannot fake this
- 21:31energy around this stuff and because of
- 21:33that you can sense that through the
- 21:35camera and you like me more for it
- 21:37whether you believe what I say or not
- 21:39you like when people talk about things
- 21:42they like that's how the brain works
- 21:43they just perceive authenticity and this
- 21:45is the big thing when you're likable
- 21:47people root for you and they want to be
- 21:49around you they want you to be the one
- 21:52that solves their problems and as a
- 21:53Creator when you're trying to identify a
- 21:56problem a pain point that they pay
- 21:57attention to and solve it this is all
- 21:59you're after now if you're not likable
- 22:01if you're kind of a grouch you can still
- 22:03win but it's going to take so much
- 22:04longer because your value and your
- 22:06information has to be so good that it
- 22:07overcomes the deficiency of your
- 22:09personality it's much easier if people
- 22:11just like you now the sooner someone
- 22:12likes you the better and the easier it
- 22:14will be to hold them so it's possible
- 22:16they may already come into a video
- 22:17having liked you from something else so
- 22:19in that case checkpoint 4 is already
- 22:20checked off but if this is the first
- 22:22thing they're seeing of you they're
- 22:23probably going to take 3 to 5 minutes
- 22:25and make a call whether they like you or
- 22:27not those three things I mentioned are
- 22:28ways to improve your chances of someone
- 22:30liking you more all right so checkpoint
- 22:32five at this point the viewer has
- 22:33understood the pain point they trust you
- 22:35they understand you have a plan and they
- 22:37like you but this is all preal this is
- 22:40like the intro stage you were just
- 22:42trying to get them to opt in to giving
- 22:44you a chance to hear what you have to
- 22:46say and now you can see why the hook in
- 22:48your video is so important and why it
- 22:50takes so much time to dial it in we've
- 22:53deployed like 12 psychology tactics up
- 22:55to this point just trying to get the
- 22:57viewer primed to accept any kind of
- 23:00message so the next question checkpoint
- 23:025 is can we get them to pay attention
- 23:04long enough to hear what we have to say
- 23:06it's crazy when you really think about
- 23:08it right you spent all that time all
- 23:09that effort all that energy trying to
- 23:11get them to pay attention long enough to
- 23:13potentially give you the chance to
- 23:15deliver a message and still you have to
- 23:17fight to hold their attention it's
- 23:19pretty crazy but this is kind of the
- 23:21most important checkpoint within the
- 23:23body of the video is getting them to
- 23:24continue to pay attention until the last
- 23:27stage so of course have a few psychology
- 23:29hacks for getting them to hold their
- 23:31attention the first one is to create a
- 23:33hunt people's brains work in Loops when
- 23:35they open a loop they need to close it
- 23:37that is why to-do lists are so nagging
- 23:39you write something down on a to-do list
- 23:40you fret until it's closed people work
- 23:42in open and closed Loops so when you
- 23:44need to keep someone interested for 20
- 23:46or 30 minutes to watch a full video you
- 23:48need to continually open Loops in their
- 23:50brain the best way to do this is to lead
- 23:52with the most valuable piece of
- 23:53information first and then tease that
- 23:56there are other things like it buried
- 23:57throughout the video that first piece is
- 23:59like a dopamine release and it validates
- 24:01that it's worth staying then you create
- 24:03this hunt these Loops that people have
- 24:05to hunt to close to do this tactically
- 24:08just continue reminding them about the
- 24:10gold at the end I didn't really do it
- 24:11well in this video but you can think
- 24:13about when people talk about six tactics
- 24:15and when they're on number two they say
- 24:16and wait for the end because the last
- 24:17one's going to be great right that is
- 24:19them opening a long-term Loop while they
- 24:21close these Min ones they want you to
- 24:23stay to close that long-term Loop all
- 24:25right hack number 14 is reh hooking in
- 24:27previous videos I've talked a lot about
- 24:28the importance of reh hooking throughout
- 24:30your content because you do all that
- 24:32work to lay the initial hook but then if
- 24:34you don't rehook everything just
- 24:36atrophies down to zero so you have to
- 24:38keep reh hooking their interest and the
- 24:40best way to do that is to keep
- 24:41reigniting that paino solution Gap where
- 24:44are they where do they want to be remind
- 24:46them where are they where do they want
- 24:47to be create contrast against where they
- 24:49are where they want to be common belief
- 24:52contrar in take continue to create that
- 24:54contrast and you'll be able to rehook
- 24:55them throughout now the best way to do
- 24:57this is that and flip so saying things
- 24:59like now that point was good but
- 25:01honestly if you don't figure out this
- 25:02point it's never going to work right
- 25:04continuing to give that zigzag dance
- 25:06that's how you rehook them all right
- 25:08another way to keep them interested
- 25:09throughout and I talk a lot about this
- 25:11in my storytelling video which I'll link
- 25:12here if you want to check out the during
- 25:14the body storytelling a lot of these
- 25:16techniques I broke down a lot deeper in
- 25:18some other videos but a great way to do
- 25:19this is what I call a trans Rhythm if
- 25:22you create a desirable rhythm with the
- 25:24Cadence of your words they will stay
- 25:26because it's soothing to listen to I've
- 25:27noticed that that the monotony that
- 25:29comes with same length sentences
- 25:31actually leads to boredom and then
- 25:32people churn so the best way to do this
- 25:34is to use your voice as an instrument
- 25:35and try to deliver off balance
- 25:38enunciation off-balance Cadence to
- 25:40create this Rhythm keep them on their
- 25:42toes some short sentences and then
- 25:43deliver some long Legato sentences some
- 25:46compound sentences some quick sentences
- 25:48keep them off balance and it creates
- 25:50this trans style Rhythm where they're
- 25:52just locked into hearing it it's almost
- 25:54like music in a way if you look down
- 25:55your script and you don't see a jagged
- 25:57line with the end of your sentences that
- 26:00means all of your sentences are around
- 26:01the same length and it creates that
- 26:03monotonous plotting feeling you want
- 26:05that Jagged line so look down your
- 26:06script and make sure you have that all
- 26:08right so now we've come to the last
- 26:09checkpoint checkpoint six this is what
- 26:11you're after the whole reason you do one
- 26:13through five is to get people to
- 26:15checkpoint 6 checkpoint 6 is getting the
- 26:17viewer to take an action so far you've
- 26:20established a paino built trust laid out
- 26:22a plan got them to like you and
- 26:24re-hooked them throughout the video so
- 26:26that they could absorb most of your
- 26:27value the last step can you get them to
- 26:30take the action after all that's why
- 26:32we're making content in the first place
- 26:33we need viewers to take some action now
- 26:36that action could be to subscribe it
- 26:38could be to share it could be to sign up
- 26:39for a free email list or a lead Magnet
- 26:41or a community it also could be to
- 26:43convert and transact for a paid product
- 26:45right from the video the actions vary
- 26:47but we need the viewer to take an action
- 26:48if they don't it's not that the rep was
- 26:50all for nothing but we don't really Clos
- 26:53the process that we were trying to do
- 26:54here now I've got three final psychology
- 26:56hacks to trick the viewer into taking
- 26:58the action the first one is called close
- 27:00the loop at the end of the video tell
- 27:02the viewer that you have successfully
- 27:04closed the paino solution Gap and that
- 27:06by doing this they should have
- 27:08everything they need to be able to take
- 27:09the information in the video and solve
- 27:11for it themsel but if they would like to
- 27:12increase the speed and get to the
- 27:14solution faster then they can take your
- 27:16action or purchase your product this
- 27:18hack of reminding them that all the
- 27:19information is there but if they want
- 27:21speed they can pay for it is super
- 27:22effective and it works because almost no
- 27:24one can absorb 100% of the information
- 27:26on the first go round but the whole
- 27:28point of the video was to demonstrate
- 27:30that you have the end to- endend
- 27:31knowledge and 5% of people are going to
- 27:33be able to take that watch it three
- 27:34times and implement it thems God bless
- 27:36them it's the other 95% that want to pay
- 27:38for Speed now that they trust you
- 27:40that'll take the action the hack is that
- 27:42you reminded them that the loop is
- 27:44closed because by reminding them it res
- 27:46signals that pain point that they wanted
- 27:48to solve they will feel like it's still
- 27:49unsolved because they haven't absorbed
- 27:51all the information and they will look
- 27:52to take an action to solve it all right
- 27:54my second hack for getting the viewer to
- 27:55take the desired action is an unexpected
- 27:57surise surprise most of Life boils down
- 27:59to expectations verse reality if they
- 28:02expected a highquality masterpiece in
- 28:04your video but you fell short chances
- 28:05are they're not going to take the action
- 28:07but if the reality of watching the video
- 28:09blew away their expectations especially
- 28:11if it was because of how valuable the
- 28:13information actually was they are way
- 28:15more likely to take the action that you
- 28:17suggested this is why I was able to grow
- 28:19from 0 to 65,000 Subs on YouTube in like
- 28:22two months I try to make all of my
- 28:24videos at a 12 out of 10 quality that
- 28:26blows people away so this the unexpected
- 28:28surprise works every time all right and
- 28:30the last psychology tip hack number 18
- 28:34is the recap tell the viewer what you're
- 28:36going to do do it and then remind them
- 28:38at the end of what you did that
- 28:40reminding is the recap this is the final
- 28:42nail that closes the loop on that paino
- 28:45solution Gap and that by doing that it
- 28:47reminds them that they should take the
- 28:49action if they haven't yet solved the
- 28:51pain watch I'm going to show you an
- 28:52example right here as I close this but
- 28:54I'm only doing it as long as you take
- 28:56the action look in the description all
- 28:58right guys that's all I have for this
- 28:59video those were 18 tricks to hack
- 29:01viewer psychology to get more addicted
- 29:03into your content if you like this video
- 29:05and you want more breakdowns like this I
- 29:07kind of like making these but I don't
- 29:09know if you like them too if you like
- 29:10them leave a comment let me know what I
- 29:12should cover in the next video and
- 29:13remember there is so much free stuff in
- 29:16the description I'm giving it all away
- 29:18if you want your videos to be better if
- 29:19you want to grow faster on social media
- 29:20the links and the invites are below for
- 29:22you to take advantage of until next time
- 29:25we'll see you guys on the next one peace
