  1. 0:06Hello and welcome to day two of
  2. 0:09Lifebook's 30-day challenge. I'm so glad
  3. 0:11to have you here with me today.
  4. 0:13Yesterday we explored having it all in
  5. 0:16life, which is the whole focus of this
  6. 0:1830-day challenge. What having it all
  7. 0:20means, what having it all looks like,
  8. 0:23and today we're going to go a little bit
  9. 0:25deeper into how to do that.
  10. 0:28But before we do, how about that stop
  11. 0:30doing exercise that you did yesterday?
  12. 0:33Was that not one of the most freeing and
  13. 0:34empowering things that you've ever done?
  14. 0:36Lifebook members love that exercise and
  15. 0:39it's so valuable. Your stop doing list
  16. 0:42is so incredibly important. Not only is
  17. 0:44it going to make room for this 30-day
  18. 0:46challenge so that you can do this
  19. 0:47challenge properly, but it's going to
  20. 0:49allow you to focus a higher and higher
  21. 0:51percentage of your time on the truly
  22. 0:53important things in your life,
  23. 0:55and less and less of your energy on the
  24. 0:58meaningless distractions. And that's
  25. 1:00going to make a big difference in your
  26. 1:01life.
  27. 1:02So I hope that you continue to add to
  28. 1:05that stop doing list all the time. I
  29. 1:07hope that it grows and grows over the
  30. 1:09years. The things that you're just not
  31. 1:11going to do in your life. I know mine
  32. 1:13has. This is sure to be a very, very
  33. 1:16powerful tool in your personal
  34. 1:19development arsenal.
  35. 1:20Okay, now on today two.
  36. 1:24If our ultimate goal in this 30-day
  37. 1:26challenge and in life is to create an
  38. 1:29extraordinary life that works at a high
  39. 1:32level in every important area, the very
  40. 1:35first question we got to ask ourselves
  41. 1:37is, what are the important areas that we
  42. 1:40need to focus on?
  43. 1:41Well, at Lifebook we've been studying
  44. 1:43this subject for over 25 years. And over
  45. 1:46the course of that time, we've
  46. 1:48identified 12 key life categories that
  47. 1:52absolutely have to be addressed in order
  48. 1:55for you to have it all, which you're
  49. 1:56going to find really, really valuable.
  50. 1:59I'm going to share that list with you
  51. 2:00now, and I'm going to do it by featuring
  52. 2:03a short clip from Lifebook's flagship
  53. 2:06program, which was made over 10 years
  54. 2:08ago. And this is going to be a rhythm
  55. 2:09that we're going to use all the way
  56. 2:11through this 30-day course. We're going
  57. 2:13to share some of the most profound
  58. 2:15moments. I've hand-selected them myself.
  59. 2:17This is the game-changer information,
  60. 2:20the content from the Lifebook program.
  61. 2:22And we're going to do it not only to
  62. 2:24increase the power of this 30-day
  63. 2:27challenge, but also to familiarize you
  64. 2:30with our core methodology, because that
  65. 2:33is going to be what changes your life.
  66. 2:36So, here now is a clip from the original
  67. 2:38Lifebook program that describes what a
  68. 2:41Lifebook is and the 12 categories that
  69. 2:45it's based on.
  70. 2:47Lifebook is a beautifully illustrated
  71. 2:50book about your life.
  72. 2:52Its purpose is simple and powerful.
  73. 2:56To define, in detail, exactly what you
  74. 2:59want your life to be in every single
  75. 3:01important area.
  76. 3:03It's a blueprint for your ideal life.
  77. 3:06It's a workbook, a place to organize
  78. 3:08your thinking.
  79. 3:10If you have a Lifebook, you know who you
  80. 3:12are and you know what you're all about.
  81. 3:15You know, with clarity, what you want
  82. 3:17out of life and why.
  83. 3:19And you know what you need to do to get
  84. 3:20it.
  85. 3:21If you have a Lifebook, you've created
  86. 3:24an ideal self-concept.
  87. 3:29That's a lot to wrap your mind around,
  88. 3:31right? How do we get that done? How do
  89. 3:34we design a Lifebook?
  90. 3:37Well, the Lifebook design process is
  91. 3:39actually very simple. It's not easy, but
  92. 3:42it's simple.
  93. 3:43We look deeply at 12 categories of your
  94. 3:47life.
  95. 3:48And we ask the same four questions in
  96. 3:50each category.
  97. 3:52What do I believe?
  98. 3:53What do I want?
  99. 3:55Why do I want it?
  100. 3:57And what do I need to do to get it?
  101. 4:00Let's take a look at the 12 categories.
  102. 4:05The first section of your life book is
  103. 4:07called my personal life and it contains
  104. 4:10five of the 12 categories.
  105. 4:13Your personal life can be defined as you
  106. 4:16separate from the rest of the world.
  107. 4:19The five categories in this section
  108. 4:21don't depend on anyone but you.
  109. 4:23Most things in life require the
  110. 4:25cooperation of other people.
  111. 4:27It takes two people to make a good
  112. 4:28marriage. It takes two to make a good
  113. 4:31friendship. Your career success is
  114. 4:34dependent on your relationship with your
  115. 4:36boss or your employees.
  116. 4:39But the five categories in your personal
  117. 4:41life section, they're all you.
  118. 4:44Here's what they're called.
  119. 4:46The first is my health and fitness.
  120. 4:49This category is about your body, inside
  121. 4:52and out.
  122. 4:54The second is my intellectual life.
  123. 4:57This category is about your mind. It's
  124. 4:59about thinking.
  125. 5:01The third is my emotional life.
  126. 5:05This category is about your feelings,
  127. 5:07what they are, where they come from, and
  128. 5:09why they're so important.
  129. 5:12Next is my character.
  130. 5:15This category is about your inner
  131. 5:17nature, who you are as a person.
  132. 5:19What you're all about as a human being.
  133. 5:22And lastly,
  134. 5:24my spiritual life.
  135. 5:26This category addresses the deep
  136. 5:28questions.
  137. 5:30Why am I here? Why do I exist? What's
  138. 5:32the purpose of my life?
  139. 5:37Your personal life is about who you are
  140. 5:40as a human being, your mind, your body,
  141. 5:43and your spirit.
  142. 5:45These categories are foundational
  143. 5:47because everything else in your life is
  144. 5:49based on them.
  145. 5:51Your personal life will determine the
  146. 5:53quality of your relationships, your
  147. 5:54career success, your financial
  148. 5:57abundance, everything in your life.
  149. 6:01The next section of your life book is
  150. 6:04about your relationships with other
  151. 6:05people, the most important people in
  152. 6:07your life.
  153. 6:08We look at three different types of
  154. 6:10relationships on your life book journey.
  155. 6:13The first category is called my love
  156. 6:15relationship. This deals with your
  157. 6:18relationship with your spouse or your
  158. 6:20life partner.
  159. 6:21Next, we look at parenting, your
  160. 6:24relationship with your children.
  161. 6:26And finally, my social life, which is
  162. 6:29the term that we use to describe your
  163. 6:31relationship with your friends and your
  164. 6:33extended family.
  165. 6:37The quality of your relationships will
  166. 6:39have a profound impact on your overall
  167. 6:42quality of life, so we go deep into
  168. 6:45these issues. You'll define exactly what
  169. 6:47you want out of each of these
  170. 6:48relationships, you'll create a clear
  171. 6:51vision and a strategy to move toward it.
  172. 6:55The third section of your life book
  173. 6:57focuses on your business life and it
  174. 7:00contains two categories.
  175. 7:02The first is called my financial life.
  176. 7:05This is about money, what it is, how
  177. 7:08wealth is created, and what we need to
  178. 7:10do to create financial abundance in our
  179. 7:13own lives.
  180. 7:14The second is my career. This category
  181. 7:17is about your work.
  182. 7:19We think about how to take it to the
  183. 7:20next level, whether you're a
  184. 7:22stay-at-home mom or a Fortune 500 CEO.
  185. 7:26As we'll see, the category of finances
  186. 7:29and career are very, very connected, but
  187. 7:32they must be thought about separately.
  188. 7:34And a strategy has to be created for
  189. 7:36them separately.
  190. 7:39The fourth section of your life book
  191. 7:41contains only one category. It's called
  192. 7:44quality of life.
  193. 7:46This is where we focus on the things
  194. 7:47that you want and the experiences that
  195. 7:49you want to have in your life. Fun and
  196. 7:52adventure.
  197. 7:53This is where your dream house lives,
  198. 7:55your summer cottage, your boats, your
  199. 7:58cars, your villa by the sea, exotic
  200. 8:01travel, or whatever it is for you.
  201. 8:04This is sort of a payoff at the end of
  202. 8:05the day, the stuff you want, the things
  203. 8:08you want to be surrounded by, and the
  204. 8:10experiences that you want to enjoy in
  205. 8:12your life.
  206. 8:15The last section of life book is called
  207. 8:17life vision.
  208. 8:19This category is about your future.
  209. 8:22It's a vivid description of what you
  210. 8:24want your life to be like 5 years from
  211. 8:27now.
  212. 8:28If all your desires came true in every
  213. 8:30category,
  214. 8:31what would that look like?
  215. 8:33Your life vision is ultimately what this
  216. 8:36program's about because it's what
  217. 8:37everything else adds up to.
  218. 8:40These 12 categories make up your life.
  219. 8:44They're really all you need to think
  220. 8:45about.
  221. 8:46And that's exactly what we're going to
  222. 8:48do on this life book journey. We're
  223. 8:49going to think about each and every one
  224. 8:52of them.
  225. 8:57So, that was me 10 years ago describing
  226. 8:59the most important categories that we
  227. 9:01need to focus on in order to create a
  228. 9:03truly extraordinary life for ourselves.
  229. 9:06Now, what we're going to be doing during
  230. 9:08this 30-day challenge is we're going to
  231. 9:09be exploring those categories, exploring
  232. 9:12profound insights, principles, and most
  233. 9:15importantly, exercises that we'll be
  234. 9:18doing in these categories over the next
  235. 9:2030 days to really, really move the
  236. 9:22needle in your life.
  237. 9:24So, now that you're familiar with the 12
  238. 9:26categories we're going to be looking at,
  239. 9:28the next question, if we want to create
  240. 9:29an extraordinary life that works at a
  241. 9:31high level in every one of these areas,
  242. 9:33is how do we get extraordinary? How do
  243. 9:35we achieve excellence in every one of
  244. 9:38these areas of our lives simultaneously?
  245. 9:41Well, here's something most people just
  246. 9:44don't know.
  247. 9:45Excellence anywhere in your life comes
  248. 9:48down to one thing. It comes down to the
  249. 9:50quality of the decisions that you make
  250. 9:53every day.
  251. 9:54That's what determines the life that you
  252. 9:56have. Now, it's not so much the big
  253. 9:58decisions as it is the small decisions
  254. 10:01that will determine every important
  255. 10:03outcome in your life. You know, most of
  256. 10:05the choices and actions that literally
  257. 10:08control your existence on this planet
  258. 10:10are small and easy, and that's a
  259. 10:12little-known truth.
  260. 10:14If you want an amazing life, if you want
  261. 10:16an awesome, absolutely extraordinary
  262. 10:20life,
  263. 10:21if you're serious about having it all,
  264. 10:23not just thinking about it, not just
  265. 10:25talking about it, but actually creating
  266. 10:27it, then one of the most important
  267. 10:29concepts you could ever understand is
  268. 10:31this.
  269. 10:32Those small choices that we just talked
  270. 10:34about, they accumulate.
  271. 10:36They add up.
  272. 10:38And they become really, really big.
  273. 10:41They may seem small if you take them
  274. 10:43individually,
  275. 10:44but when you look at the cumulative
  276. 10:46effect they have, you realize that these
  277. 10:48are the decisions that truly and
  278. 10:51undeniably move the needle in your life.
  279. 10:53These small daily decisions are the most
  280. 10:55important choices that you'll make. They
  281. 10:58control your health. They control your
  282. 11:00character, your relationships, your
  283. 11:02career success, your financial
  284. 11:05abundance. They control everything in
  285. 11:08your entire life.
  286. 11:10For instance,
  287. 11:11do I work out right now? Or do I spend
  288. 11:14the next hour snacking and watching
  289. 11:16reality TV?
  290. 11:18Do I answer my spouse right now, in this
  291. 11:21moment, with anger or with kindness?
  292. 11:25Do I write that nasty email, or do I
  293. 11:27allow myself to cool down first?
  294. 11:30Do I spend time with my kids right now,
  295. 11:32or am I going to spend the next 2 hours
  296. 11:34going over the spreadsheets?
  297. 11:36Do I buy that purse that I really don't
  298. 11:38need or do I put the extra $500 in my
  299. 11:41investment account this month?
  300. 11:43These aren't big decisions. These are
  301. 11:45small decisions, but there's a lot of
  302. 11:47them. They come every single day. And
  303. 11:50every life is created by how you make
  304. 11:54these choices. Whether it's a fantastic,
  305. 11:56fulfilling, successful life where you
  306. 11:59wake up full of joy and enthusiasm and
  307. 12:01you just can't wait to get to the day,
  308. 12:03or a lousy, unfulfilling life of
  309. 12:06frustration where you dread going to
  310. 12:08work, you dread seeing your spouse, you
  311. 12:10dread facing the challenges of the day,
  312. 12:13or any kind of a life in between.
  313. 12:15It's the hundreds and thousands of
  314. 12:19small, pretty easy, and seemingly
  315. 12:22insignificant decisions that you make
  316. 12:25every day that will really add up to
  317. 12:28your life.
  318. 12:29Now, I'm not taking anything away from
  319. 12:31the big decisions. The big decisions are
  320. 12:33important, too, but guess what? There
  321. 12:35aren't very many of them. You know,
  322. 12:37which school to go to, which house to
  323. 12:39buy, which person you're going to marry,
  324. 12:41which company you're going to work for.
  325. 12:43You're going to make a handful of these
  326. 12:45decisions in your entire life.
  327. 12:48It's the small things that make almost
  328. 12:51all of the difference.
  329. 12:53Having it all
  330. 12:54comes down to the quality of your
  331. 12:56decisions everywhere in your life on a
  332. 12:59daily basis. And most of those decisions
  333. 13:02are small and relatively easy to make.
  334. 13:05There's not a single thing on the list
  335. 13:07that we've talked about so far that's
  336. 13:08like big or overly difficult to do, but
  337. 13:12it's the cumulative effect these choices
  338. 13:15have that will literally control your
  339. 13:17destiny.
  340. 13:19So now I want to address what could be
  341. 13:22seen as a disconnect. And here's what it
  342. 13:24is.
  343. 13:25If an incredible, amazing, extraordinary
  344. 13:28quality of life depends on a bunch of
  345. 13:30easy little choices, which it does,
  346. 13:33then why doesn't everyone have an
  347. 13:35extraordinary quality of life, which
  348. 13:37almost no one does?
  349. 13:39Well, that's an excellent question, and
  350. 13:40here's the answer.
  351. 13:42Because it's a project of monumental
  352. 13:45proportions to even identify what small
  353. 13:49actions you need to take in the first
  354. 13:51place, let alone keep track of them, and
  355. 13:53take action on them all simultaneously
  356. 13:56across the board in order to create your
  357. 13:59extraordinary life.
  358. 14:01No one single choice is that difficult
  359. 14:03to execute. What's difficult is to
  360. 14:05execute all of them at the same time.
  361. 14:08The width is mind-boggling. And
  362. 14:10remember, a big lapse anywhere in your
  363. 14:14life is a failure everywhere in your
  364. 14:16life. It It breaks the chain. And you
  365. 14:18see this all the time with people.
  366. 14:20They've got success in one or two two
  367. 14:21areas of their lives, but they're messed
  368. 14:24up in others. And that's not what we
  369. 14:25want. We've already covered that. We
  370. 14:27want excellence everywhere in our life.
  371. 14:30So, you talk to a random person on the
  372. 14:32street and lay out, you know, the dozens
  373. 14:35and dozens and dozens of small daily
  374. 14:37choices that they're going to have to
  375. 14:39make across every area of their lives in
  376. 14:42order to have an extraordinary life, and
  377. 14:44it would be too much. I mean, they would
  378. 14:46immediately check out mentally. Because
  379. 14:49I think it's seemingly impossible for
  380. 14:51most people to get a handle on that.
  381. 14:56But at Lifebook, this is what we do. We
  382. 14:58help you get a handle on it. It's
  383. 14:59literally our expertise. We help you
  384. 15:02define what excellence looks like for
  385. 15:04you in every important area of your
  386. 15:06life, and then we help you define the
  387. 15:08small daily choices and actions that add
  388. 15:12up to excellence in every category. And
  389. 15:14that's gold.
  390. 15:16Because that's your recipe for creating
  391. 15:18the highest possible quality of life
  392. 15:21that you're capable of living.
  393. 15:23And once you're conscious of what your
  394. 15:26custom, unique, extraordinary life
  395. 15:28entails, you just got to start making as
  396. 15:31many of those little choices right as
  397. 15:34often as you possibly can. You know,
  398. 15:37choose those healthy meals regularly. Do
  399. 15:40your workout every single day. Do your
  400. 15:43morning affirmation. Do your meditation.
  401. 15:45Delight your spouse. Really light her up
  402. 15:48or light him up, whatever it is for you.
  403. 15:51Just remember, consistency is the key.
  404. 15:55So, you want to be as consistent as you
  405. 15:57possibly can with these choices. Stay
  406. 15:59with it. Stay diligent. Be disciplined.
  407. 16:04And you know what's going to happen over
  408. 16:05time?
  409. 16:07Those behaviors that you're engaged in
  410. 16:09will become habitual. They will
  411. 16:12generalize into your life. And over
  412. 16:14time, you'll integrate that vision for
  413. 16:18the extraordinary life you want so
  414. 16:20deeply with what you think, what you
  415. 16:23say, and what you do that it's going to
  416. 16:26become second nature. It's going to
  417. 16:28become your lifestyle. And that's when
  418. 16:30personal development really takes off.
  419. 16:34Neale Donald Walsch said, "Every
  420. 16:37decision you make, every decision, is
  421. 16:39not a decision about what to do. It's a
  422. 16:42decision about who you are."
  423. 16:45When you see this, and when you
  424. 16:46understand it, everything changes. You
  425. 16:49begin to see life in a whole new way.
  426. 16:52So, what we're going to do over the

  435. 17:14prove to you that you can take control
  436. 17:17over every aspect of your life. Or more
  437. 17:19specifically, and accurately, and
  438. 17:22importantly, you're going to prove that
  439. 17:24to yourself.
  440. 17:25Now,
  441. 17:26full transparency, perfect honesty, that
  442. 17:29doesn't mean that you're going to be
