- 0:00Hey girls. So, in today's video, I'm
- 0:02going to talk about 10 things that are
- 0:05not worth your money and also things
- 0:08that I just, you know, just refuse to
- 0:10spend money on. Like, we're not doing
- 0:12that. Okay. So, I'm going to start with
- 0:16this. You're going to ask me how does an
- 0:19eye drop, what does that have to do with
- 0:21makeup? But let me tell you, when you do
- 0:24your makeup and your eyes are not bright
- 0:26and white, it doesn't give that oomph,
- 0:29that effect. So, I always use this
- 0:31Lumifi eye drop and it lasts for hours.
- 0:35Once I used this for the day, I don't
- 0:37ever have to use it again. It leaves my
- 0:39eyes white and bright. So, yeah, I
- 0:42already used that before I came on
- 0:44camera. Now, I'm just going to go in and
- 0:47start with my brows. And I'm doing a
- 0:49natural
- 0:50just natural makeup. I'm not going
- 0:52anywhere. I'm just doing something super
- 0:55natural. Okay. Yeah. So, the first thing
- 0:58I refuse to spend money on,
- 1:03guys, fake jewelry. And when I say fake,
- 1:07I mean jewelry that won't last. So, for
- 1:11example, sterling silver. I remember
- 1:14there was a time when I bought sterling
- 1:18silver jewelry from a popular place that
- 1:21starts with P that everyone's going
- 1:23crazy about. If you know, you know. It
- 1:27was sterling silver. And it didn't last
- 1:30me for 3 months. It didn't like I like
- 1:33jewelry that I can just put on and I
- 1:36don't ever have to like think about it.
- 1:38like I don't have to think about taking
- 1:40it off and on every few minutes, you
- 1:44know, and as a girl with two kids, like
- 1:49ain't nobody got time for that. So yeah,
- 1:51I prefer things that are solid gold and
- 1:56or platinum. And if I'm not doing that,
- 1:58let's say I'm on a budget, I would much
- 2:01rather get something that is gold filled
- 2:04so it will last at least a little bit.
- 2:07Yeah. So, that's my two cents on that.
- 2:11Solid gold jewelry. All right. So, the
- 2:14next thing I refuse to spend money on is
- 2:18Botox. Girl, I already got enough face
- 2:22fat. Do you see this? I don't need
- 2:24anything else in my face. Okay, I got a
- 2:27round chubby face. So, um, for me, I
- 2:30know I'm already going to look a little
- 2:32bit younger as I age because I won't
- 2:35have that volume loss that most people
- 2:38have. And in addition to that, putting
- 2:41on Botox or getting your fa face
- 2:44fillers, Botox, whatever, getting that,
- 2:47you're setting up yourself to be
- 2:50highmaintenance. Botox is not cheap. It
- 2:53is expensive. So, constantly having to
- 2:56schedule an appointment every few months
- 2:59to get Botox, especially when you're
- 3:02very frugal like me, it's not a good
- 3:05look. You're just setting up yourself to
- 3:06be high maintenance and spend a lot of
- 3:09unnecessary money. Like, if you don't
- 3:11look like an alien and people aren't
- 3:13walking and looking at you every two
- 3:15seconds because of how you look, you
- 3:18don't need Botox. Okay? we can age
- 3:21gracefully and we can embrace that. Um,
- 3:24honestly, I hope I don't change my mind
- 3:26in the future, but for right now, I've
- 3:30never had Botox and I don't plan to
- 3:32anytime soon, but we'll see where the
- 3:35future goes. You know, it's just not
- 3:37worth it for me right now. Especially
- 3:39the fact that Botox is just temporary. I
- 3:43just I just can't get over that. Maybe
- 3:45if it were permanent, then I would be
- 3:47like, "Okay, I'll consider it." But it's
- 3:50not. So, no. The next thing on the list
- 3:53that I refuse to spend money on is
- 3:55expensive skin care. Okay, so here's the
- 3:58thing. From middle school, I had a
- 4:01terrible breakout. My skin was a hot
- 4:04mess. And that carried on throughout my
- 4:0720s and my 30s. Yeah, I'm in my early
- 4:1230s now. So, I literally just got my
- 4:16skin issues resolved around 2 3 years
- 4:19ago. And all this time, I thought that
- 4:21if I bought expensive skin care, that
- 4:24would do the trick.
- 4:27Girl, let me tell you something. Save
- 4:28your coins, okay? Save your freaking
- 4:31coins because, like I said, I thought
- 4:34buying the expensive is going to
- 4:36help me to get rid of my skin. I spent
- 4:40thousands on expensive skin care that
- 4:43these beauty gurus are promoting. Did it
- 4:46work for me? Absolutely not. So, I went
- 4:50to see a dermatologist and they
- 4:53prescribed me retinoid and azelleic acid
- 4:58and those are the only things I've ever
- 5:00used in my entire life that worked for
- 5:03me in literally 2 months. I'm not even
- 5:07joking. Now, my skin has little texture.
- 5:11Um, I'm still getting rid of
- 5:13hyperpigmentation as you can see, but I
- 5:16just started this journey and I've seen
- 5:18a lot of results. So, yeah, it's working
- 5:21for me so far. But again, um, I'm going
- 5:24to stick to that that my dermatologist
- 5:28prescribed me. I am definitely not going
- 5:30to be spending that much money on random
- 5:33skincare products because someone said
- 5:35so. My dermatologist told me that if I'm
- 5:39unable to fill my prescription, which is
- 5:42this, you can use the one that I have
- 5:47linked in the description box below.
- 5:48That's the one that she recommended I
- 5:50use if I ever run out and I'm unable to
- 5:53get my prescription. Um, I have done
- 5:56that before. I went to New York, didn't
- 5:59pick up my prescription on time cuz I
- 6:01was missing my freaking fright. So, I
- 6:03ran off to the airport and I just
- 6:05ordered it on Amazon. It's the same
- 6:07thing. I promise you it's the same
- 6:09thing. At least that's what she said.
- 6:11I've used it. It's called different.
- 6:14I'll link it below. It's the same thing.
- 6:16It's literally a prescription
- 6:19grade medication for your skin without
- 6:22the prescription. It even says that on
- 6:24the ad. So, check it out if you're
- 6:26interested. So, I use the different or
- 6:29this same thing. And I also use azelleic
- 6:34acid 15%.
- 6:36There is one [clears throat]
- 6:38from Paula's Choice. I will also link
- 6:41that. That's the one I started off with
- 6:43as well, but it's 10%. It's literally
- 6:46the same thing. Okay. So, I would 10 out
- 6:48of 10 recommend that if you want smooth,
- 6:52no texture skin. And currently, my
- 6:55hyperpigmentation is slowly going away.
- 6:57So, girl, give me three more months,
- 7:00okay? Just give me three more months,
- 7:03okay? I I'll be turning on this camera
- 7:06and you're not even going to recognize
- 7:07me. No need for expensive skin care. Get
- 7:11the little $20 tubes that I'm showing
- 7:14you because it's worth it. And they last
- 7:17freaking months. Like months. Okay? Like
- 7:21when I get my tubes, I only spend like
- 7:2420 plus dollars on the tube. And it
- 7:27lasts me quite a while, up to three
- 7:29months, sometimes four if I'm being if
- 7:32I'm not using too much at a time. You
- 7:35only need a PS size amount, too. A P
- 7:38size of a P for your entire face. So,
- 7:40um, and I keep it very minimal. skin
- 7:43care, the skincare products that I
- 7:46showed you, and moisturizer, sunscreen,
- 7:50and that's pretty much it. Okay, so the
- 7:52next thing I refuse to spend money on is
- 7:57plastic meal containers. Why should I go
- 8:00ahead and buy plastic meal containers?
- 8:03That crap is toxic for your body. I
- 8:07don't think it's good. If I'm you
- 8:09putting plastic in the microwave, how is
- 8:12that helping me to stay healthy? That's
- 8:14a lot of toxins coming from that heated
- 8:18plastic container. So, I prefer to use
- 8:21glass. I use glass that I can freeze.
- 8:24So, I throw it in the freezer and then
- 8:27I'm good to go. Ditch the plastic
- 8:29containers. That's what I started meal
- 8:31prepping with. And one time I was
- 8:33heating up my food that was frozen and
- 8:36the freaking container started melting
- 8:38in the microwave.
- 8:42No. And then I had to throw away all
- 8:44that food cuz I'm not putting that in my
- 8:46body. No way, Jose. Next on the list is
- 8:50highend makeup. Like this is probably
- 8:53the most expensive thing that I use in
- 8:57my entire skin care routine. This is
- 9:00just a tinted like a CC cream, color
- 9:04correcting cream. It h it says here full
- 9:07coverage cream, anti-aging and hydrating
- 9:11serum. It has SPF 50. The only reason I
- 9:15buy this for I think it's $40 plus
- 9:18dollars with taxes that I paid for it on
- 9:21Amazon. But to be honest with you, it's
- 9:23worth it because now that I'm getting
- 9:26older, I like my makeup or my skin to my
- 9:30my face to look like skin. So, this is
- 9:33the only thing I use so far that has
- 9:36really helped that. I'm going to show
- 9:38you what I'm coming from. I used to use
- 9:40this Nars right here. However, I had to
- 9:44ditch this because it does look cakey
- 9:47after a while. So, I'm not currently
- 9:50loving foundation. I'm loving CC cream,
- 9:54which is a lot better and natural
- 9:57looking. It's from It Cosmetics. It's
- 9:59what you just saw me applied. And
- 10:01[snorts]
- 10:02I'm not going to Sephora to buy a
- 10:04freaking mascara for 50 bucks, though. I
- 10:07can tell you that for sure. I walked up
- 10:09in Sephora and I had to run out because
- 10:12I am a foundation might get a bl or a CC
- 10:17cream, but just not a freaking mascara.
- 10:20It's not going to magically grow my
- 10:22lashes overnight. So, why spend that
- 10:26money on a freaking mascara that's going
- 10:27to dry out in 2 days? Please, girl, make
- 10:31it make sense. Yeah, I'm trying to do
- 10:34things a lot more affordable because I
- 10:37prefer to put my money in other places
- 10:40where it can actually work for me
- 10:42instead of me having to constantly work
- 10:44for it. And please don't come for my
- 10:47makeup. This is not a makeup tutorial.
- 10:49I'm just literally doing a very light
- 10:53natural face. I want it to look like I
- 10:56I'm not I don't have anything on. So, I
- 10:59might not even look much different at
- 11:00the end of this video. So,
- 11:03and I just put a tiny tiny bit of
- 11:06concealer under my eyes. All right. So,
- 11:10the next thing I refuse to spend money
- 11:12on is a manicure. Now, if you watch my
- 11:16previous video, you already know that I
- 11:20just got a whole kit. Okay? I got a
- 11:23whole kit that I can use at home to do
- 11:27my my manicures. All right. I do
- 11:31everything myself, including the cuticle
- 11:33work when I feel like it. And once I'm
- 11:36done with the cuticle work, I just go in
- 11:39with the kit. Um, I'll link it below if
- 11:42you're interested. And I just do my
- 11:44nails. The kit is super affordable. You
- 11:46can use it up to, I think, 12 times
- 11:49before you have to purchase it again.
- 11:52And it was only 15 bucks. Okay, it was
- 11:55really affordable. So, I'm not going to
- 11:58go into the nail salon to get my nails
- 12:01done if it's not like for a special
- 12:03occasion and then they're going to
- 12:04charge me an arm and a leg. They're
- 12:06going to charge me as if I'm there to
- 12:08buy gold. I'm just here to get my nails
- 12:11done. I'm not buying gold, but yet the
- 12:13price is gold prices. I don't get it.
- 12:16Not in this economy. And the thing about
- 12:19it is I have to do my nails every two
- 12:22weeks in order to feel groomed and put
- 12:24together. If I don't do it every two
- 12:26weeks, it's it's not going to come out
- 12:28great. It's I feel very uncomfortable.
- 12:31Think about it. If I'm going to spend
- 12:33$150 every 2 weeks, that's $300 a month.
- 12:37Multiply that 300 by 12 and that's how
- 12:41much money I'm saving every single
- 12:43month.
- 12:45Yeah, I rather save my coins. So, I
- 12:48won't be doing much manicures unless
- 12:51it's a special occasion. Like I said, I
- 12:53use the kit. This is what my nail looks
- 12:56like. And this is old old. Okay, this is
- 13:00old old. So, I'm talking about it's
- 13:04ready to come off. So, yeah. I go to the
- 13:07nail salon. I need a little French tip.
- 13:09Oh, it's $15 extra just to put a line on
- 13:14my tips.
- 13:16Girl, please.
- 13:19Girl, please.
- 13:22Comment below if you have that same
- 13:23issue where you go to the nail salon and
- 13:25you just want to run the heck out
- 13:28because they're just they're overdoing
- 13:31it. Okay? And I know everyone needs to
- 13:33survive. Everyone has bills to pay, but
- 13:37we got bills to pay, too. We can't keep
- 13:40up. Okay? Somebody needs to do something
- 13:42about it. We cannot keep up. We can't.
- 13:47The next thing I refuse to spend money
- 13:49on is Oh god.
- 13:53I'm so hesitant to say this, but it's a
- 13:55freaking gym membership. I said it.
- 13:58Okay. A gym membership is not really
- 14:03worth my money. Maybe it's worth yours,
- 14:06but here's why it's not worth it for me.
- 14:08First of all, I'm a mom of two kids.
- 14:10Okay, cool. We got that out the way.
- 14:12Second of all, I will if I don't go to
- 14:16the gym at least four times per week,
- 14:19there's no reason for me to have a whole
- 14:22membership, okay? Which I don't. I work
- 14:25out like three times or two times per
- 14:28week, okay? Just to keep my body active.
- 14:30So, what I did, I invested in a
- 14:34treadmill and a walking an an adjustable
- 14:37desk. So, that way I can actually stand
- 14:41up and walk on the treadmill as I'm
- 14:43doing my work. So, as I'm working from
- 14:46home, I just walk on the treadmill and
- 14:48I'm getting my steps in. It's hard
- 14:50sometimes to find that extra time when
- 14:53you're working from home. It's It's just
- 14:56hard to find that extra time when you're
- 14:58trying to Oh my god, girl. What are you
- 15:01saying? What are you saying?
- 15:05Yes. As a mom, it's hard to get that
- 15:08extra time to always be at the gym. And
- 15:11I don't want anything to hinder me or
- 15:13interfere with that. Like I'm the type
- 15:16of girl where if I'm going to the gym,
- 15:20right, and I say I need to work out
- 15:22three to four times per week and I can't
- 15:25do that because, you know, maybe I have
- 15:27my kids in the way, I'm just going to
- 15:30lose motivation because I'm going to see
- 15:32that it's not sustainable. It's not I
- 15:34can't be consistent. So, I have to do
- 15:36what works for me and what will make me
- 15:39consistent. And that's investing in a
- 15:41home gym. So, I get dumbbells from
- 15:44Amazon. I also purchased like like I
- 15:48said the standing adjustable desk so I
- 15:50can work from home and also walk on the
- 15:53treadmill at the same time. And I have
- 15:56purchased the bench resistance band and
- 16:00it's working great for me. I love it so
- 16:03far. I love being in my little home gym.
- 16:06No one else's germs is on there.
- 16:10[laughter and gasps]
- 16:11Yeah. no one else's germs but mine. And
- 16:15as a little germaphobe, I prefer that.
- 16:18Okay. Yeah, I definitely prefer my home
- 16:21gym. I can go in the middle of the night
- 16:24without worrying about it being closed.
- 16:26So, currently at this point in my life,
- 16:29a home gym is so not worth it for me. It
- 16:33may be it might be worth it for you, but
- 16:35right now it's not worth it for me. And
- 16:37I might change my mind in the future.
- 16:39Yeah, that's just where I stand on that.
- 16:41And I much rather just do outdoor
- 16:44activities, too. I will bring my kids in
- 16:47the little stroller. I'll walk with
- 16:49them, too. So, we'll go to the zoo and
- 16:52I'll walk as I get my steps in, and
- 16:54they're out as well. So, you know, as a
- 16:57mom, you just got to you just got to do
- 16:59what you got to do to make it work. Now,
- 17:01I'm using this Fenty Heat
- 17:04by Rihanna. Love it. It lasts really
- 17:07long. Ooh, what's that on my lip gloss?
- 17:10It lasts really long. Looks very
- 17:12natural. And
- 17:15next is lashes. I don't know if you can
- 17:18see, but my lashes,
- 17:21it's pretty much done. I purchased a kit
- 17:25online from Amazon. I'm an Amazon girly.
- 17:28I'm a diehard Amazon girl. Okay, say ah
- 17:32and I'm there. Okay, I love Amazon. I
- 17:36purchased almost everything on Amazon.
- 17:37Saves me a ton of time. Love it. So, I
- 17:41purchased a lash kit on Amazon. 15
- 17:43bucks. I'll also link that if you're
- 17:45interested. And I just do my lashes. I
- 17:49have a video on with me doing my lashes
- 17:52and showing you how I use that $15 lash
- 17:55kit to do my lashes instead of going to
- 17:58a lash technician that's going to charge
- 18:00me an arm and a leg.
- 18:03Yeah, we're not doing that. Not, as I
- 18:06love to say, not in this economy. So,
- 18:10check out that video. I'll link it right
- 18:12here for you if you're interested in
- 18:13seeing how I do my lashes. And it's
- 18:17still intact. Okay? Do you see that?
- 18:20It's still intact. And I've done this
- 18:23almost two weeks now.
- 18:26Yes, sis. Yes, sis. I'm saving you all
- 18:29that money, okay? It's easy to do. I'm
- 18:32not a beauty guru. I barely know how to
- 18:35do my makeup. I barely know how to do
- 18:39things like,
- 18:41you know, maintenance stuff to look
- 18:44completely flawless. I'm literally a
- 18:46beginner. I'm just trying. I used to pay
- 18:48everyone to do everything for me. But
- 18:50since now, my priorities have shifted to
- 18:53investing and early retirement cuz I
- 18:56don't want to work forever. Who wants
- 18:58to? So, I'm looking for to, you know,
- 19:01put my money in places where it's worth
- 19:04it. All right. So, let me put on this
- 19:09spray. This is the L'Oreal 36-hour.
- 19:17And as y'all can see, everything just
- 19:19looks it looks like I'm not even wearing
- 19:22anything. That's kind of how I like my
- 19:24little my little natural beat makeup to
- 19:27look like. I'm like I'm just glowing
- 19:30from the inside out [laughter]
- 19:33and I'm not wearing anything. Even when
- 19:35I'm going out at night, I still don't go
- 19:38too heavy with makeup. Okay, so next is
- 19:42this is actually number nine. It's cheap
- 19:45perfume. I refuse to spend money on
- 19:50cheap perfume for so many reasons. If
- 19:52you buy a perfume
- 19:54that's cheap, first of all, when you
- 19:56spray it, it's going to smell okay,
- 19:59maybe bad, okay? So, don't even waste
- 20:01your money on that. The second thing is
- 20:03when you do buy good quality oilbased
- 20:06perfume, they last longer. They last the
- 20:10whole day. currently my two favorites.
- 20:13It is the I'll insert a picture for you
- 20:16guys, but it's it's it is the YSL
- 20:19uh Black Opium, which I'll put right
- 20:22here, the YSL Black Opium, and I also
- 20:25like the Dior, this one right here.
- 20:28Honestly, I went into a store one day,
- 20:32set an appointment at a jewelry store. I
- 20:35walked in and the guy was like, "What
- 20:37are you wearing?" [laughter]
- 20:40And he was he was really loud about it.
- 20:43And I felt good because he's like, "You
- 20:45smell so good." And then we had a whole
- 20:48conversation about perfumes and stuff.
- 20:50So, girl, invest in a good perfume
- 20:53because people might see you and judge
- 20:55you based on how you look, but I'm sure
- 20:58they're judging you by the way you
- 21:00smell, too. Okay? If you go somewhere
- 21:03and you smell disgusting, people are
- 21:06going to talk about it. People are not
- 21:08going to treat you the same way that the
- 21:10way that you actually deserve to be
- 21:12treated because they're going to think
- 21:14you're nasty, you have bad hygiene,
- 21:17stuff like that. So, I always recommend
- 21:20buy one good perfume, even if it cost a
- 21:24little bit extra, because that one good
- 21:26perfume only needs about two sprays or
- 21:30three max to for you to smell good and
- 21:33for you to last all day. But when you
- 21:35buy the cheap $20 perfume, you need 10
- 21:38sprays for that to last. And it's still
- 21:40not giving what it's supposed to give.
- 21:42Those are my two top perfumes. I'll also
- 21:45link them as well. And number 10, we
- 21:50need a drum roll for this.
- 21:53Hopefully I can edit an audio. I can
- 21:55throw a real drum roll in there. We'll
- 21:58see how my editing skills are. Why are
- 22:00we still wearing geets?
- 22:05Yeah, you heard me. Why are we still
- 22:09wearing the IMG assets,
- 22:13as millennials,
- 22:15as 40 year olds, as 30 year olds?
- 22:19Are we still in middle school? Like, I
- 22:22get it. Some girls look nice in it and
- 22:26can pull it off, but every time I see
- 22:28the IMG sets, I feel like I'm going back
- 22:32to that middle school era, that time
- 22:34when I was in middle school. They look
- 22:35like a freaking middle schooler.
- 22:38The quality isn't even the best for the
- 22:40price. You know, if you're too lazy
- 22:43about, you know, putting outfits
- 22:45together, just wear neutral, solid
- 22:48clothing. That way, you anything that
- 22:51you pick up from your closet
- 22:53automatically matches. So, there's no
- 22:56reason for a big I am Gia set with the
- 22:58Gia written on the front.
- 23:02So, yeah, guys, that's all I have for
- 23:04you today. I really hope you enjoyed
- 23:07this video. Those are the 10 things I
- 23:10refuse to spend money on and things that
- 23:12are not really worth your money. Let me
- 23:14know your thoughts in the comments below
- 23:16and I'll see you next time.
