  1. 0:00Edward Snowden was on Joe Rogan and
  2. 0:02there were many many revelations hi
  3. 0:11thanks for watching today I just wanted
  4. 0:14to give you a highlight of the interview
  5. 0:18that Joe Rogan did with Edward Snowden
  6. 0:20he was on today and it's already well
  7. 0:23over a million views it's incredible how
  8. 0:26well this video is doing it's over two
  9. 0:29and a half hours long and if you don't
  10. 0:32have time for the entire video I wanted
  11. 0:35to give you my highlights from that
  12. 0:38interview and so I just picked 10 things
  13. 0:40that I found interesting the first of
  14. 0:43which not not a huge national security
  15. 0:47issue just that Edward Snowden was
  16. 0:50hesitant to go on Joe Rogan's show based
  17. 0:55on his first impression and that was his
  18. 0:58logo the spinning cartoon head with the
  19. 1:01third eye he said Wow I don't know I
  20. 1:04don't know about this guy and that is an
  21. 1:07interesting thing to keep in mind you
  22. 1:10know often with first impressions we
  23. 1:12don't know how other people are gonna
  24. 1:14react to us and sometimes those
  25. 1:16impressions will throw people off I mean
  26. 1:18if you've never seen one of my videos
  27. 1:21before and you tuned in and you're like
  28. 1:23who's this guy in the the jungle with
  29. 1:26you know live flames on his desk you
  30. 1:28know I'm not sure what that means so
  31. 1:31that's an interesting thing to keep in
  32. 1:33mind for yourself is first impressions
  33. 1:37do make a difference now let's get into
  34. 1:39the more serious things that Edward
  35. 1:43Snowden talked about in this interview
  36. 1:44the second thing was that the evacuation
  37. 1:48of the NSA at 9/11 made a lasting
  38. 1:55impression on him now he talked about
  39. 1:57this in his book and he was doing some
  40. 2:01website development in a house but the
  41. 2:05house was on a base the base was right
  42. 2:07next to the NSA when 9/11 happened they
  43. 2:10decided to send everybody home
  44. 2:13and that made a big impression on him
  45. 2:16because he thought wow in this time of
  46. 2:18need our country needs all these people
  47. 2:23to look into this national event and
  48. 2:27they're sending everybody home that hate
  49. 2:31a lasting impression on him and that did
  50. 2:34change the course of his career the
  51. 2:39third item of interest from this
  52. 2:41interview was when he talked about C
  53. 2:43theories or con theories he had a job at
  54. 2:51the NSA and he was looking for evidence
  55. 2:54of aliens and chemtrails and all these
  56. 2:57things and he wanted to find them and he
  57. 3:01had access to all the databases and what
  58. 3:04he told Joe was that he was hoping to
  59. 3:07find information on aliens but he was
  60. 3:10not able to doesn't mean that they don't
  61. 3:12exist but he couldn't find any
  62. 3:15information that the government was
  63. 3:17hiding information on the aliens and I
  64. 3:20thought that was kind of interesting the
  65. 3:23fourth item of interest from this
  66. 3:26interview was the protect America Act
  67. 3:28this happened in 2007 I wasn't paying
  68. 3:31attention to anything in 2007 but what
  69. 3:34this act did is it retro actively
  70. 3:37immunized all the telecom companies from
  71. 3:42prosecution for breaking the law what
  72. 3:47they were doing is they were handing
  73. 3:48over all the records of everyone to the
  74. 3:51government and this was against the law
  75. 3:53and so the government decided you know
  76. 3:55what we're just gonna take care of that
  77. 3:57we'll retro actively make all of that
  78. 3:59okay I hadn't heard about that before
  79. 4:02but perhaps you have that was pretty
  80. 4:05pretty interesting a little tidbit the
  81. 4:07fifth item of interest was the term
  82. 4:08national security Edward Snowden says
  83. 4:11that this changed during the Bush
  84. 4:13administration that using the term
  85. 4:15national security is just an alternative
  86. 4:19to using the term state security and
  87. 4:23that got me thinking you know anytime
  88. 4:25you hear a politician talk about
  89. 4:27national security substitute state
  90. 4:29security for that and I think you may
  91. 4:33have a little better picture of what's
  92. 4:35going on now the sixth item of interest
  93. 4:38from this interview was the classified
  94. 4:41and unclassified version of the
  95. 4:44warrantless wiretapping document usually
  96. 4:49when the government Declassified
  97. 4:52something right they will go through
  98. 4:56with a black marker or whatever and just
  99. 4:58mark things out and and those are
  100. 5:00redacted you can't see them Edward
  101. 5:03Snowden with his security clearance he
  102. 5:06was able to see both the classified
  103. 5:08version and the Declassified version he
  104. 5:12said they were totally different
  105. 5:13documents he said that the document was
  106. 5:17tailor-made to mislead and deceive
  107. 5:23that's that's pretty bold and yeah very
  108. 5:29eye-opening to hear that claim the
  109. 5:32seventh item of interest from this
  110. 5:35interview is he talked about the FBI and
  111. 5:37hash tag not all right not all FBI
  112. 5:39agents and not all CIA agents and etc
  113. 5:42etc but he said that the FBI classified
  114. 5:46Martin Luther King two days after as I
  115. 5:49have a dream speech as the greatest
  116. 5:53national security threat in the United
  117. 5:56States that's that's really something to
  118. 6:01hear I hadn't heard that before I do
  119. 6:03want to fact check that see if I can
  120. 6:06back that up but that was quite a claim
  121. 6:10and if true that's that's a big deal the
  122. 6:14eighth item of interest from the
  123. 6:15interview was has to do with phone
  124. 6:19records now we walk around with our
  125. 6:20phone all the time and since 2008 with
  126. 6:25the hemisphere act companies like AT&T
  127. 6:29keep the information of your cell phone
  128. 6:32so that any time you're walking around
  129. 6:35town different cell phone towers ping
  130. 6:37your phone they have that information
  131. 6:40they know where
  132. 6:41were at certain times of the day they
  133. 6:43have all of that information since 2008
  134. 6:46and they're keeping it and they turn it
  135. 6:50over to the government not only that but
  136. 6:53AT&T since 1987 has every phone call
  137. 7:01you've made through AT&T or if you made
  138. 7:05a call to someone on an AT&T network
  139. 7:06they have the information of that call
  140. 7:09who you called what time they called how
  141. 7:12long the call was for they have all of
  142. 7:16that information and they're keeping it
  143. 7:18now the ninth revelation is not
  144. 7:20necessarily with this interview but it
  145. 7:22what it's what happened while I was
  146. 7:24watching this interview I was sitting at
  147. 7:27my desk in my office at my my desktop
  148. 7:30and I had my phone on the table next to
  149. 7:32me and something interesting happened
  150. 7:35I'm gonna recreate it right now I am at
  151. 7:38one hour 35 minutes and 32 seconds into
  152. 7:43the podcast and let's see what happens
  153. 7:48I'm gonna start the recording on my
  154. 7:49phone so we can see here we go now you
  155. 8:04can see he said a phrase and my phone
  156. 8:08just popped up with the Google assistant
  157. 8:14I don't use the Google assistant it just
  158. 8:22did that automatically I didn't know
  159. 8:24that my phone would do that when it
  160. 8:27heard that phrase I've never used it in
  161. 8:29that way before and this just tells me
  162. 8:32that my phone is listening all the time
  163. 8:37and it's interesting that that happened
  164. 8:40during an interview with Edward Snowden
  165. 8:42so that was a revelation for me but the
  166. 8:45last thing in this interview that I
  167. 8:48found interesting and there's way more
  168. 8:50than 10 okay I just I had to cut it off
  169. 8:53but the tenth item of interest was when
  170. 8:56he talked about the Espionage Act and
  171. 8:59Edward Snowden said that in the
  172. 9:03Espionage Act there is no difference
  173. 9:05between taking classified information
  174. 9:08and selling it to your enemy right a
  175. 9:11foreign government to sell it to a
  176. 9:13foreign government is the same as taking
  177. 9:18that same information and giving it to a
  178. 9:20journalist there's no difference between
  179. 9:24the two and that was shocking I would
  180. 9:29have thought that there would have been
  181. 9:30a different penalty for those two things
  182. 9:34they seem different to me but the fact
  183. 9:38that that is the current law of the land
  184. 9:40is its you know kind of kind of shocking
  185. 9:44and I guess that's why he's over in
  186. 9:47Russia right now so those were 10 items
  187. 9:50that I found interesting in the
  188. 9:53interview if you'd like to see more go
  189. 9:56check out Joe Rogan's interview with
  190. 9:59Edward Snowden it is over two and a half
  191. 10:02hours long so these were just some
  192. 10:06highlights that I came up with but I
  193. 10:07think it is a really important interview
  194. 10:10I think Edward Snowden is a very
  195. 10:12important figure in the world today I
  196. 10:15did review his book a couple of weeks
  197. 10:18ago I recommend reading his book if you
  198. 10:21haven't done that I'll leave a link in
  199. 10:23the description but tell me with these
  200. 10:28highlights are you interested in
  201. 10:29checking out this interview with Joe
  202. 10:32Rogan or reading his book let me know
  203. 10:35your thoughts in the comments peace
